Thank you for reading, this is my first time posting and I am clearly not very good at this. Spec in images below Earlier this week the game 'Squad' crashed on me after a couple hours of play. I was coming off anyway and saw there were some windows updates to complete. I ran the updates and turned off the PC. Next morning there was a stutter several times per second on all visual and audio across the entire OS. I tried updating drivers using the Radeon installer Adrenalin but this was unable to complete(4 hours+) getting stuck at 'Installing AMD Chipsets', 'Uninstalling drivers' and finally with 00:28 seconds to go at installing new driver. I tried again, and again with a different driver but no change. I tried restarting, which also failed (BSoD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE). I then tried DDU which was successful in removing the stutter; windows device manager showed Microsoft Basic Display Driver was being used. Once internet was connected this changed to AMD Radeon RX 5700, telling me this was the most up to date driver (21/08/2020 it wasnt) but still no stutter or symptoms. Now as soon as I run Adrenalin driver installer the stutter comes straight back. If I try to play Squad with the driver from 21/08/2020 it tells me I have a 'DX Feature 11' issue- but DXDIAG shows I am running DirectX12, and the Microsoft Basic Display driver. I have tried lots of other things like re-installing windows from drive and stuff but I realise this post is becoming huge so hopefully I have said enough that someone with better skills can see the issue more clearly here and put me out of my misery or atleast guide me into explaining the issue in a more manageable way. Im keen to learn and will take any help you can throw at me.

So I just had a pretty big scare with my fairly new 3070; global artficacting (Windows itself) and games crashing on startup. So I quickly manually downloaded the newest driver as well as DDU, and went through the process of fully reinstalling the driver, and it worked - not getting any more artifacts or games crashing. I'm sorta weirded out as before this happened, I installed the newest nVidia driver which came out a few days ago and also did multiple cold boots (I shutdown my PC after the end of each day), and I didn't apply any overclocks. So I ultimately find it strange that the the display driver managed to just conk out, is there any explanation as to why? I'm just not trying to be joyful, as of course it could happen again and it could be a hardware issue after all.

Hi, I've got some weird stuff going on concerning AMD's GPU drivers... I've tried looking on the forums, there are some similar problems with the RX480, but I've found nothing that solved this particular case. I'll try to be as complete as possible. Now, I'm not a complete novice, but I'm no PC wizard either. So, any tips are welcome. First the build: CPU: A8-7600 APU with Radeon R7 integrated graphics @ 3.1 GHz (no OC) GPU: Gigabyte RX480 4G @ 1290MHz with current driver: 17.11.1 Crimson (no OC) RAM: 8 GB Hyper X Fury DDR3 MoBo: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H PSU: 650W from Be quiet! Storage: 2x Sandisk Plus 250GB SSD + 2x 500GB HDD from Hitachi, but also Apple branded!? Sidenote: Both the SSD's have windows 10 installed on it. The problems persist on both versions. Case: Gigabyte GZ-X1 Windows 10 x64 Displays: LG-freesync screen connected via HDMI and some ancient square Acer monitor, connected via a Display port to DVI adapter. (This config might be relevant? I don't know) The story of how these parts came together to form this machine, has long been lost in history; idek myself, but it exists! Did I miss anything? So, what is going on with it? The current graphics driver installed is version 17.11.1 When updating the drivers, to anything since Adrenalin (version 18.xx.xx), at first everything seems fine, games run fine, nothing unusual. I tried the latest driver at the time 18.12.2 but also one of the first Adrenalin drivers released, with the same result. Untill the system reboots, then everything goes wrong. When it reboots, the windows logo shows up (On the Acer screen, not even the LG one) the dual boot menu passes, then windows logo again, and then a black screen. No login window, not even a cursor. Windows didn't seem to think the system failed to boot. Explaining everything I tried at this point, would take ages, so let me skip ahead to where it gets interesting: I learned that the black screen is not a black output, there is no output beyond the windows flag. I tried a lot of things, and it took me a while to figure this out: but the display signal doesn't stop, it jumps from the GPU to the unused output on the motherboard. So at this point, the PC is kind of useable, it's just running on the APU's graphics prowess! Which is horrible in comparison to an RX480 ofc. At this point, only installing drivers older then Adrenalin with DDU seem to get the RX480 going again. So here's the question: Why does the APU hijack the systems output, when there is an RX480 available and the latest drivers are installed? Do I need to tell the system to use the RX480 in some way? Is my RX480 simply no longer compatible with these drivers? If sow, why does AMD's software recommend me to update? TL;DR: With any driver since Adrenalin edititon, PC uses APU's graphics instead of the dedicated GPU.

Hey Guys, I have recently purchased an Aorus RX 570 4GB. I have downloadede the Radeon RX 570 drivers, but they are always showing incompatible. When I install the drivers, the drivers install successful but when I restart my System the Grpahics Card is not recognized. It pops up with a message of saying "No AMD Graphics Driver is installed". I think I am installing the Correct drivers, please guys tell me what I'm doing wrong.] RX 570 Drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-570 Thanks

OK so let me start from the beginning. I recently bought a monitor for my personal desktop. I decided I wanted a 2K 144Hz monitor and went with the MSI MAG27CQ. It was the right price for the right specs and it came with freesync so that was a bonus to go with my AMD card. When I first tested out the monitor, I had it on 2K with 144Hz no problem, but whenever I enabled freesync, the brightness kept fluctuating during game-play on a variety of games including Overwatch, Rainbow 6, and LOL. I called MSI support to see if they knew if there was something I needed to adjust to make that stop, let them know I tried it on 2 different graphics cards and both had the same issue, so he told me I needed to RMA the monitor. I literally just got my monitor back yesterday and now it won't go past 1080p. I reinstalled my graphics drivers, checked to see that they were up to date, try previous drivers, used a different cable, tried using HDMI instead of Displayport, but nothing ever worked. What's freaking me out the most is when I go to the settings and check the display information, it shows up as "Optix MAG27C" which is the 1080p version of my monitor. I'm now fearing the worst because the notes from the RMA state that they replaced the LCD and mainboard. Did they actually mess-up and put in the wrong parts, or am I just paranoid? Any and all advice will help, their offices for customer service for monitors are closed until Monday. Thank you

So I got done with my build right, It has an Fx 8350 with 16GB RAM on dual channel at 1866mhz and an R7 370 4gb edition and a 750watt fully modular PSU. So I installed games like Far Cry 4, and Hitman Absolution and Black ops 2. Now to start off with, Far Cry 4 does not even get past the intro cut scene, after the introduction the game crashes and windows freezes on it. sometimes, if I am lucky I get an error telling me something along the lines of "Display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" or "Farcry4.exe" has been blocked from using graphics hardware". I am always having issues unpacking games/installing as 80% of the time I get an unpacking error. And at other times, I am getting blue screens saying something like "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" or something like that. I really would like to know if this is an issue with any of my hardware of a software issue. I have updated all of my drivers. FYI, Maybe I should've said this earlier, before I went a bought an actual Windows 10 for about $119, I got a Pirated version from a friend, (I know I know, OMG He's a pirate, No I'm not, I am only using this pirated version to see if everything works then I am gonna buy the real version) now I don't know if this might be the cause of my issues but I surely hope so. Because buying a Windows 10 from Microsoft would be a lot easier than diagnosing an issue with the hardware. I would just like to know your options on what the issue is.

okay so ive been having a strange problem with the rig ive put together, basically my display drivers keep crashing and then recovering. when it actually happens the sound usually starts to "buzz" that kind of pulses with the sounds for example as some one speaks the buzz rises and falls with their speech pattern (its hard to describe but basically it sounds like its all being played through like a speaker from 1960, think one small step for man kind of thing) and then the buzzing either stops on its own or my screen will completely cut out (full black screen) and then come back with the msg "your display driver have stopped working and have now recovered" or I lose video and audio signal completely and need to restart. when the screen cuts out it does it cleanly with no artefacts on screen but when it recovers any video I was watching at the time/game playing stops responding and has to restart (for example if im listening to you tube while playing a game and it cuts out the game will usually stop responding but youtube will be fine but if im just on youtube the whole browser goes down but everything else will be fine) 1. okay so here are the things ive tried so far: 2. tested both sticks of ram in both slots together and individually (no change) 3. uninstalled all drivers and then manually reinstalled them all (still no change) 4. uninstalled and reinstalled windows 10 and then reinstalled all drivers (......... no change ) 5. completely disassembled and then reassembled the entire rig (2 hours later....... no change but at least had fun) 6. took it into a shop who tested the graphics card and motherboard in isolation (cos I didn't have enough spare parts) and he said all the hardware seemed fine on its own so still no answers so here is what is in my rig:- AMD Athlon X4 860K Club 3D radeon r9 380 16gb dual channel 1866 RAM ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ Cooler Master Nepton 240M 600w Edison power supply and it runs on windows 10 so ive had a lot of help from the community on here before and I really appreciate how friendly and helpful every one is and I'd really appreciate any ideas any one might have on how to fix this problem thanks in advance Rich

Ok then, let's detail what the fuck is going on. As the title suggest, I have a rather big problem with my young and beautiful computer. It crashes. Not a little, a lot, a hell of a lot. This is my first build, I'm young and relatively inexperienced. I built this pc myself, with supervision from someone who knows what they're doing in regards to it, and that venture was mostly successful aside from a replaced and improved PSU. My current set-up is as follows: Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core HyperX Black Series 4GB Dimm - x2 Zalman Z3 Plus ATX/M-ATX Tower Case Black Sapphire PCI Express R7 260X 2GB Graphics Card Corsair CXM 500W Semi-Modular PSU WD 1TB 3.5inch Internal Hard Drive: Caviar Blue Was a budget build, rounding off at about £700 with everything else needed. At first with this computer I had a crashing issue, where periodically I blue screened. After furious thinking I narrowed it down to a power saver setting on my motherboard, which in theory was inhibiting the cpu from getting enough power, or something of the sort. However this problem was not removed, only reduced. Context in my computers condition is around 4 months old, parts in relative good condition, nothing broken, still as quick as new, however due to where I live it gets very dusty: both the gpu heatsink and cpu heatsink can become caked in dust if not blown out with a duster every week, of which issue I am sad to say I do not do enough of. The Issue As mentioned before, crashing. I experience occasional system crashes, sometimes unprovoked. A blue screen where it reboots itself to the bios, and doesn't list my hard drive as a boot option, it's not being detected after the auto reboot, which means the hard drive itself might be the root of the problem, however a manual reboot brings it back. An example of this crash: often I leave my computer on, while I'm in another room, mostly with Steam and Google Chrome on, Facebook, Tumblr etc. And I'll hear from another room, the beep beep of it restarting, completely unprovoked and seemingly random blue screen. My computer is consistently suicidal you'll find. This kind of crash also happens maybe when opening programs too quickly after startup, opening lots of Chrome tabs and Skype etc, which should not faze this computer much performance wise, but it does. The other issue, the one that is the bigger of the two problems, is what seems to be my graphics drivers. At first with my gpu, I used the disk drivers that came with it, AMD 13.9 version drivers I think off the top of my head (I haven't still got that disk). However I decided to upgrade my drivers to the latest 14.12 Omega drivers, I've included screenshots of the exact software version, and exact hardware specs. However after upgrading my drivers, I consistently get the message "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered", following a short freeze, commonly happening when joining a Skype call. However this issue extends to when playing games, when booting them for the first time, the computer freezes completely, which I can only assume is this happening and the drivers being unable to 'recover'. No task manager, no nothing. This is infuriating, it happens regularly when first joining a game of League of Legends, when turning on a heavily modded Skyrim (which before a clean reinstall stopped working completely with new drivers), and oddly it crashes when turning on Osu!, of all things. This basically means whenever I want to play a game, I gamble whether or not I'll have to reboot my computer completely a few times, also meaning playing League is impossible because I end up connecting 5 minutes later to the game. However, before writing this rage induced post, my computer crashed twice in a row while opening 4 or more chrome tabs at a time, with a very pretty sequence of a black screen, green screen, little bit of red, and finally a blue screen before a reboot and undetected hard drive. Joy of joys. I have noticed that when I installed my drivers, it popped up with 9 errors with installation, I've included the text file of the log that it gave me, which someone might be able to take a look at. I've attempted to research this issue, but to little avail. The drivers not responding search resulted in a Microsoft fix tool only for windows 7 to stop it happening. I found that it raises the voltage of your gpu, making it respond quicker possibly? I decided to use MSI Afterburner to raise the voltage of my gpu, took a guess at what it might need, based on what overclockers tend to raise it by, and raised it by 10. Screenshot included. However this hasn't really solved the problem very much, if at all. TL;DR My pc crashes a lot due to graphics driver issues. It seems relatively suicidal at times. Pls halp. This is all much to the hilarity of my friends that my computer hates me so much and crashes so often without clear reason, personally it's infuriating. If you read this and can help me, give me advice, I will be eternally grateful. Apologies for the large amounts of text. This is a huge problem, rendering my beloved pc a tin can. Even if it is a love/hate relationship. Hehe, if you look at my past posts you can see me asking about what parts to buy. How innocent I was. Edit: I'm using Win8 Report.xml
