Hi, Sorry if this has been already talked about, but i couldn't find anything similar (also, I dont really know if this belongs here, sorry if not). So, I happen to have my 4k 21" iMac from work and my gaming pc but no monitor to pair with. I was thinking of ways to use the iMac as a monitor for my PC but this model does not support target display for doing so. so i was thinking of streaming via parsec or something similar from my PC to the Mac. Would it work if I connect the two of them together via the native ethernet ports? ANd if so, Would it be better than just streaming via LAN being both hardwired to the router? I made a quick scheme to help understanding. Thanks in advance!!!

I have just build my first PC a couple months ago. I have an i3-6100 and an ASUS RX470 OC Strix 4gb GPU in it. For some time now, I've been trying to overclock the GPU to produce some extra frames. For some reason, this card can't maintain any decent overclock. So for weeks I gave up, but recently gave it another go. I overclocked it successfully, but it was only a few mHZ. So I tried to go higher. It held that for a couple minutes then the screen glitched out. Immediately the screen came back on and my monitor was back at 60Hz (from my 66 overclock) and I think the GPU was back at stock settings. This is where the problems begin: I became worried and started to benchmark it to see if anything was wrong and the program could not finish the benchmark. Then the next day a could not run any games (see pictures). Next, I took the GPU out of the PCIE slot then reinserted it after a couple of minutes and I can now run games. But at much lower FPS then previously. I was able to run Battlefield at around 70fps then and now I can barely hit 50. Also the benchmark program says my GPU is in the 20th percentile and I was at 60th originally. Could this be the cause of the overclock? And if it is not, what steps can I take to fix it? P.S. Yes, I have downloaded the latest drivers and DirectX enabled. Also, the overclock before it glitched out was significantly higher than the previous. I'm now thinking it was from the too large of a jump

Hi there, i'm wanting a new PC setup to play modern games however i love laptops too much and refuse to spend over £1000. My idea relies on having a powerful desktop and an external monitor (or tablet) with a keyboard and mouse potentially at the other side of my house. The desktop would simply act as a hub and I would be controlling everything via the "laptop". How viable is this concept and is it as simple as using google desktop software to connect them together? I have not experimented with this idea but i doubt it is an original concept and would hope to get some answers on this page. I have a photo a dell touch monitor which is a good example of what i would want to be controlling my PC with as it is portable and has usb drives in built for keyboard/mouse. The monitor should not need great specs as it is piggybacking off the pc. The purpose of this is to generally to play like a laptop with the specs of a desktop.

Afternoon, I have recently completed my first custom water loop consisting of a dual radiator setup with a CPU and GPU block. Before all this I delided my 7960X but I haven't managed to get a great result (It's better but not as good as I was expecting) with liquid metal. In a couple of months time I am planning on redoing my loop as I made a couple of poor choices in regards to the reservoir layout and sharp bends as I forgot to buy 90 degree fittings. While my loop is drained I am thinking about getting a direct die frame for my processor and mounting my existing monochrome block but I am not sure if it will work as it also cools the VRMs as well. My block is https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fb-asus-rog-r6e-monoblock-nickel Does anyone know if the block will fit/work with the VRMs when attached directly to the CPU die? I assume the block will sit slightly lower to compensate for the IHS but i'm not sure how much lower. Thanks, Scott

I've been in the market for an affordable, portable af recording solution for jam sessions and pretty much anything music-related. Not into carrying around a mixer, fuckton of cables and all the rest of it, so purchased one of these TEENY TINY microphones, received today. Just coz I'm curious, what is the LTT Communities' thoughts on this little darling of a condenser?

So as the title suggests a Twitter account which belonged to my friend who unfortunately is no longer with us. Was "Hacked" and according to his mother the direct messages on the account where deleted. She has managed to get the account back but as a way of proof Twitter has asked her to send them a copy of her son's (my friends) death certificate to prove to them that she intact is telling the truth. That said she has just found out that the DM's have been deleted but cannot get back into contact with a Twitter representative, to ask them if they can help. Is their something she can do to get the DM's back or is their a good way to get into contact with Twitter again to help resolve the issue? Thank you for you're time and I welcome any and all input.

Hi, I just found a great deal on the Asus Direct CU II R9 290x for around 1900RMB (312 USD). My question is, would I get better performance from using this card, or would it be better to spend a little more and water cool the reference design HIS 290x using an corsair hg10 A1 and an H60. I am intending to overclock my card within reason. I also thought of later maybe going with a full custom water cooling loop, with an water block from EK. Which one would be better in that case? Thanks Jakob

Hi All, Just wandering I have a Wifi Direct HP Printer, however I'd like to be connected to my wireless internet at the same time. Is there any wifi adapter thing that I can plug into my laptop so I can use both at the same time? I can connect my printer to my home network and connect my laptop to my home network however they don't see each other. I've tried a lot of troubleshooting but it hasn't gotten me any further. This is the second HP printer that I have had that has the same problem. 1HyperCube1

Hello! I just built a PC a week ago: Specs: AMD 8350 Cpu ASUS DirectCU II GTX 770 x2 Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 8gb Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 1600mhz Corsair H100i Watercooler CMStorm Stryker case Corsair HX850 850w PSU SoundBlaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Sound card ~~~~~~~~~~ So... I've had a post up on the CPU forum on here. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/34707-amd-fx8350-abnormally-slow/ I've concluded that it's the GPUs and CPU that aren't working well together. The cards are performing very weak in games and i'm only achieving 60-80 fps in BF3. And 33-37 Average FPS in Unigen Heaven. How can I fix this?

Unfortunately my 660ti pe caught fire yesterday and i'm looking to get a new card. As much as it was probably my fault for the mosfet to explode I don't think I wan't any more twin frozr coolers in the future. I know that the 280x might be a better option now that the prices are back down but nvidia has caught me with geforce experience so i think i'm gonna get a 770. So far the only one I see that i think is worth getting is the Asus DCU II version. Anyone else recommend this particular product?

Hi guys, I am running Windows 8 with the only mod being Classic Shell to make it more like Windows 7 (and every other Windows version). Every time I try to install DirectX for games, such as when I first run games that I have on Steam, it just hangs. Nothing happens. I have to force end the task in Task Manager. Then it will not run again until a large amount of time (hours) has passed, or I restart the computer. And even then, it will not work. I do not know if it is related, but I attempted to install Oracle's Virtual Machine software and it did the exact same thing. However, the DirectX problem has been something going on for a few days. It first started when I tried to install a game when I was disconnected from the internet. I figured that was the problem, but now, I am not sure. I tried running the DirectX setup for a game from inside the folder rather than letting Steam do it. Same results (and problems). Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Vitalius

Direct X function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The device is hung which is typically caused by issues in the graphics driver or alternatively the application"). GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 To ", Driver: 34052 Hi guys this is the error. it doesnt matter how hard I research the fix to this problem either doesn't work or its just more people with Nvidia cards with the same problem. This error appears randomly after about an hour of gameplay particularly when playing Battlefield but also Bioshock Infinite and various other games. This freezes the game, and the computer, and restarting the game results in the error displaying instantly. The only way to restart the game is to restart the whole machine, lose all your game data for that match and then have it happen again 30 minutes into the next match. All my drivers for EVERYTHING are updated DAILY and after reupdating no change so please no "fuck off and install your drivers" or "its battlefield deal with the $140 pile of coded trash" comments. Please please help. It could be battlefield being the shoddiest and least well made game post 2000 but that doesnt explain why it happens with other, better made games. This has destroyed the point of my brand new $4500AUD build and I'm completely uninterested in using the machine if if a 900 dollar graphics card fails every 30 minutes without saving. Direct X has no website for support, neither does battlefield forums or this or any other forum have any real answers. Thanks guys. halp. pls.

During AMD’s 30 Years of Graphics Event their product manager, Devon Nekechuk, confirmed that all AMD GPUs built on the Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture will support DirectX 12, Microsoft’s next generation multimedia API. This means that all graphics cards from the HD 7000 series and the Rx 2xx series will be able to support DirectX 12. APU users with Kaveri APUs will also be able to take advantage of DirectX 12 since Kaveri APUs are also built from GCN graphics. AMD is already up to date with DirectX as it offers DirectX 11.2 support for all its GCN products. AMD wasn’t too keen to push the support for DirectX given it is still working heavily on its rival API Mantle. Source If you watched the livestream you'd have heard this. If not, well now you have.

Hi guys, I used to have a quite long startup process for F@H, because I always want to have the advanced control, not the web control. Getting there took starting the standard FAHClient via web control, closing the browser tab, right-clicking the small F@H icon in the taskbar, calling up the advanced control mode and maximizing it. Yesterday I was sick of it (I had some alcohol, I admit ). So I wrote a small batch file to do all the stuff for me. Here's the instructions and the code: 1. Move to your FAH install folder [...]\FAHClient and create a new text document using the editor. 2. Copy the following code, and fill in the location of your F@H: cd "[...]\FAHClient" start HideConsole.exe "[...]\FAHClient\FAHClient.exe" start /max FAHControl.exe Do not take away the quotations. Only replace the [...], and make sure that it has the same structure as the following example: "C:\\Program files\FAHClient". The double backslash after the drive name is essential! 3. Save the file as batch, eg. "FAH_for_real.bat". 4. This step is not necessary, but adds some beauty: Create a link on your desktop, and set the icon to be an F@H icon. You can find it in the F@H folder. Done. From now on, you can just double-click the link on the desktop and it will start your background F@H client as well as the maximized advanced control mode. Regards, Tataffe

I have an ASUS HG7770-2GD5. And whenever I play BF3, Skyrim, and Smite. I will play about five minutes into the game and my computer will go nuts. It will go back to the desktop and only the square that has the Windows Symbol in the bottom left corner and the taskbar on the bottom and a black screen. I can't use my mouse and if I do Ctrl + Alt + Del it will glitch back and forth and if I do nothing it will eventually get to a blue screen but I've only goten it to a blue screen once. I can't imagine that this is good for my computer at all. But it is only when I'm in intense games I can overload my computer with anything but ONE GAME! I think that is stupid but if you need anymore information please don't hesitate to ask me for it! Thank you for any help you give me!
