I'm upgrading to a ryzen 7 7800x3d but i'm unsure if my current cooling setup will be enough to keep the CPU cool under a intensive workload such as video rendering. My CPU cooler is the noctua NHD15 (old gen), and my case has good enough airflow (don't know the specific model, important thing is that it has a mesh front panel). My current ryzen 5 5600x reaches temperatures not higher than 60-65C under a heavy workload, so would my current setup be enough to keep 7800x3d under 85ish degrees C? And if not what cooler would be enough?

Upgrading GPU and CPU: Strix RX480 8GB OC > > > TUF RX7800XT Ryzen 7 2700X > > > Ryzen 9 5900X 16GB DDR4 > > > 32GB DDR4 (Kingston Fury) (x2 sticks) Looking for a good cooler (without breaking the budget) for the Ryzen 9 5900X, currently using an LC Power LC-CC-95 for the Ryzen 7 2700X and it's been doing a good job for it's price (35-41C idle > 50-55C gaming > 75-86C 3D rendering, 3D modelling, 2D graphics...), but it's probably not a good choice for a 5900X under heavy workload. I'm interested in opinions and/or suggestions/recommendations, I've picked out a few coolers that fit my budget. Looking at tests even on Ryzen 7000 series the temps seem ok , but I'm also interested in the quality and reliability of these coolers (a broken cooler won't cool ). Current case is a Fractal Design Define R4 (2x 140mm front intake, 1x 120mm rear exhaust, 1x 120mm floor intake). (with current lowest prices) - THERMALRIGHT Peerless Assassin 120 SE - 43 euros - CoolerMaster Masterair Ma612 Stealth - 54 euros - Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Se Argb - 56 euros - DEEPCOOL AK620 black - 72 euros - BE QUIET! Dark Rock Pro 4 - 74 euros Peerless Assassin 120 SE keeps good temps in some tests and it's the most budget friendly in the list, but if I can't rely on it's quality to survive the 5900X during heavy work it's probably worth paying more for one that can handle it. I'm also not a fan of cheap AIO's so it's why I'm mostly looking into air coolers, unless there's a reliable and overall good AIO in this price range. Thank you in advance

I have a friend that just bought an Arctic Freezer 34 eSports and he is looking to add another fan to the other side of it. Basically like the Acrtic Freezer 34 eSports Duo but cheaper since he already has an extra fan. I was hoping to figure out how to attach the fan before it arrives. Not for any particular reason other than having plenty of time while waiting for shipping. The cooler uses a wire clip to hold on to the fans and I was wondering if anyone has a good idea for an alternative. I know zipties work but I'd rather a better looking option. I was thinking about designing and printing a clip that holds it on which would be easy except I don't have the cooler to measure. Does someone have one that would be willing to measure it? I am mostly just interested in the two dimensions labeled in the image below. If there is another option that someone else has already designed then that works too. I just haven't found one yet. I realize this is a really bizzare thing to do now instead of just waiting but I am bored. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? I also guess I just now came up with an idea that should work without needing any dimensions other than the spacing of holes on the fans but I am curious if someone has any good ideas. Also, I know I can buy the clips for this cooler and they are cheap, but so am I so I'd rather try my hand at making something.

Hello everybody, I'm buying a 9700k and I currently have a Meshify C with an ROG Strix 1060 gb and Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro installed in a Prime Z370-a, so a front mounted aio cooler is out of the question and a a top mount is going to be hard seeing as the ram height is around. 50mm. I also don't want to cover the ram sticks with a big chunky cooler like those for heavy oc (DH-15 and Dark Rock Pro 4). My current CPU Cooler is the Cryorig H7 (not the quad lumi). Is it enough? is the Noctua U12S a good upgrade? What cooler should I look into? I'm running it mostly at stock (I don't know if require a powerful cooler to run all cores at stock max turbo speed).

Hi there, unfortunately some thermal paste got on a few pins of my AM4 CPU. I've tried to clean it with spiritus ( alcohol ), but i couldnt remove all off it. The tip of the pins and upper part are free from paste. But at the little dots, where the pins are soldered to the CPU is covered by a small layer of thermal compound. The final question is, could the small layer of compound demage the CPU ? Thank You !

Hello! I have an issue with my cpu cooling. I recently bought a new computer with a rtx 3060ti and a ryzen 7 5700g. My gpu is running 40c idle and around 70-75c while at 100% usage. but i have an issue with my cpu. See i bought a prebuilt due to the chipshortage and upgraded basicly everything except cpu and gpu. I bought the fractal design meshify 2 compact chassi, a msi B550-A PRO and the artic freezer esport duo cooler. After installing everythhing and booting up i saw that my cpu was running at 59c basicly locked no matter the usage. I first tought it was because i had put on the thermal paste way to early and it had sat on the cooler, lose for about 2 hours before it got installed. it was also the stock thermal paste i got with the cooler. So i bought a tube of kryonaut paste and tought that would resolve it. But to no ones suprise it did not. The temps haven't moved a single bit since i reaplied new paste. I read it could be because of the edc if it's running to high? my edc is running at 95-100% all the time at it seems not to be an issue as far as what've read. any Tech Tips is apriciated

Hello My mobo is dx58so. I wanted to ask what cpu I should buy except the i7 980x bc it is really expensive... However I want to know if is it possible to overclock the X5680 or the W3680 with turbo boost not base clock. Is Arctic Freezer i11 enough to cool these at stock and overclock around 4 ghz - 4.2 ghz. I have somewhere seen someone using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility on W3680 to overclock but not sure that will work on every system.

Been looking for a centralized database or environment for cooling stats (read: comparisons) for coolers as my current rig and its dual AIO is approaching 6 years of age. Riding on a Gen 1 Ryzen 1700X and a 980ti, it's time to relegate this rig to stock settings and use for home office only. Problem is, as much as I do love the occasional review episode, it is hard to find comparisons using actual data on the internet about standardized performance. Anyone have a go-to resource to compare CPU coolers? (specifically air coolers) Debating between the MASTERAIR MA620M, NH-D15 chromax.black, and the Scythe FUMA 2 (among others).

Hiya everyone. Looking for a one-up forum for best performance cooler Looking for: Best performance in Cooling. Not looking for: Quiet, Silent Limitations 1: Max width, length and height of 3M for the cooling unit itself. Limitations 2: Has to be self-sustainable. The tags include both exotic and cooler mods to me meaning custom ideas and concepts so go crazy! Use this as both a way to show your knowledge and also get together with the community!

I just bought a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition to replace my stock intel cpu cooler. I was curious if I could insert the RGB wire of the fan into the JRGB slot on my motherboard (msi b360m bazooka)? If not, would the fan run normally if it wasn’t inserted to anything?

While playing with the fan curve in BIOS I noticed CPU temp settling at 40-44 °C at 30-40% fan speed. Admittedly CPU temp was already at 40 when I entered BIOS, but after 10-20 min 4X°C ! It’s my first build and I had a Mac mini previously so I’m not sure what’s normal. I’m worried about not spotting a plastic peal on my NH-U12A or does it ship with a plastic cover only now a day, I assumed so… Thanks for any experience shared beforehand !!! ^_^ edit: so u don’t need to click my profile: - CPU: RYZEN 9 5900X - Cooler: NH-U12A - Case: Fractal Meshify 2 C w/stock fans (3) - Motherboard: AORUS b550 pro v2 That should be the relevant components

Hi I've tried searching for this topic, both on google, and YouTube (which i know can also come up as results on google). I just bought a 5950X, and I've hear some of my friends using Liquid Metal for a delid'ed intel CPU. I was wondering if I could use it between the IHS and my water-cooling block. Both are nickle coated so there should no be much erosion. However since liquid metal is, well, liquid, I'm worried that if I put it on the CPU and put my case upright like most are today, that it will eventually run out. Does anyone have any experience with this or know where to find it. i guess my google fu is not that great. Regards

I need to cool a Ryzen 7 3800x better than my stock cooler does. It gets to 70-87c under full load apex and YouTube for example. I have a small case and I can only have a 240mm radiator but there is plenty of airflow to it.

Cooling and overheating are some of my biggest bothers when it comes to laptops so when I was looking up Arctic MX-5 reviews on Youtube, I accidentally happened upon a video where the user modified his laptops CPU cooler by gluing copper wires. So I looked up CPU cooler modding and found out about gluing additional copper pipes, which was proven to work. So now I'm looking for the best adhesive to glue the pipes together. Should I actually look for a thermal glue or would thermal paste do the trick? I ask that because I am looking up a list of the best thermal GLUE which also includes thermal PASTE - so does it also double as adhesive? 10 Best Thermal Glue Thanks.

My cpu (R3 1200) cooler fan (Silverstone KR0 1) runs at max speed all the time and i cant change the speed in the motherboard (Biostar A320MD Pro) Hardware monitor because its greyed out i tried smart fan control but the cooler doesnt care if i set it to quiet and runs on at 3000 rpm the cpu doesnt get hotter than 27°C not idling (runing browser, discord and downloading the windows updates). if i use the automatic fan curve changer the motherboard ramps the fan up and down(trys to thest the perfect point) and decides yeah 3000rpm is the best solution but why? thanks in advance for your help

So, i placed an order for Some thermal paste and it says its Rated 5W/mK. Is it enough for a Ryzen 7 2700x, not overclocked, Using the Stock wraith Prism cooler that came with it. Is this enough? Or should i spend more money and get a differnt one rated for 8W/mK costs a bit more obviously. Note : Ive had this CPU since Jan 2019.

Hey, asked here before about my new build and now I built it but temps of CPU in BIOS seemed higher than I thought. IT was around 45-50 degrees C in bios or in system doing nothing - idle. Anyway, my goal was also to buy cpu cooler but wanted to wait how all parts fit etc and meanwhile use stock cooler. I was looking at Be quiet Dark rock 4/ or even pro version, or Noctua nh-d15, but I am not sure now. Only reason for this is that my RAMs are high thanks to RGB on it, which I did not want but it was only available ram in that shop where I bought them and had 3600MHz. Partpicker says it would fit but I am not sure. Could anyone give me some insights if it will or what other cooler to put on cpu? Dimensions of ram are: https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product/delta-rgb-ddr4 49(H) x 147(L) x 7(W)mm - which I am concerned about the height of the rams. Case is Fractal Meshify C. Actually I tried to measure the gap or distance from ram, in case cooler is that low, to the other side and it gave me 125mm, but in the videos about all these coolers mentioned, it always look bigger. So I need to decide which one to buy, as I use my system for video editing and would like to keep temps down as much as I can. Also not sure how to set up other internal fans in that case. It came up with preinstalled two - front and back - but maybe I need to put more, or also use top of the case for some coolers. Any advice on these issues I am facing would be amazing. Thank you. My desktop: Fractal Design Meshify C TG Dark Tint AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Gen3 MSI MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) 3600MHz DDR4 RAM ASUS TUF GeForce GTX 1660 6GB GAMING OC Kingston A2000 1TB SSD M.2 NVMe Solid State Drive Also not sure if picture will help much but I attached it.

I am starting a project of a 100% passive small factor PC, i3-6100, 1050ti palit passive gpu. Case probably custom wall-mounted and open. I have narrowed my list down to the following cpu coolers available to me: -Coolermaster Hyper H412R -Coolermaster Masterair MA410P -Enermax T50 -Coolermaster Hyper 612 v2 I am trying to cool an i3-6100 (office/extremely light gaming) Since I will not install any fans at all, what would the best choice be? I know that the 612 is a huge beast and I am ready to accept the size if it is 100% needed but obviously a smaller size is wanted. All coolers have cooper heat pipes with direct contact with the cpu. Probably what will have the most impact: 4x heat pipes: H412, MA410P 5x heat pipes: T50 6x heat pipes: 612 What would be the minimum cpu cooler to get? Any other honorable mentions you would like to add?

Hi all, I'm fine tuning my fan curves to keep my Ryzen 7 3700x nice and cool. I just installed the NZXT Kraken X53 AIO and my temps are averaging as follows: Windows Desktop (Idle): 52-56C Gaming: 60-67C I have the radiator mounted to the top of the case with 2 120mm fans to extract hot air. Another 2 intake fans in the front and one exhaust fan in the back. All NZXT 120mm fans. Should I ramp up my fan speeds to push more airflow? Are these good temp readings or should I aim to knock them down about 5-10C each? Do I match the case fans speed to the CPU Cooler Speeds? Or Keep the cooler speeds lower than the case fans to create more positive air pressure? Thanks!!

Hi All, I have a Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic that already has six fans in it (three top intakes and three side exhausts, not the best config for temps I know, but I like the look better). I am looking to upgrade from the stock cooler on my Ryzen 5600x to a Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite ML360L. I am not overclocking the CPU, but want a quieter system and a better look. What would be the best fan configuration for this? I currently have an aircooled GTX 1060 6GB (but in the future could see something a lot more power hungry in there). I would like to keep the look of the side exhaust look of my fans (looks cleaner imo without the supports and sticker showing) even if this costs me a few degrees. My other question, would be what headers on my motherboard would I plug everything into? It seems like the AIO includes a fan hub, but my motherboard (an Asus Prime B450M-A) only has a single CPU fan header and two case fan headers. The current config for this is each set of three fans on a case fan header and the CPU fan on the CPU fan header. What is the best way to wire this now that there is another set of fans and a pump involved? Cheers, Dark_Llama

Hi everyone, quick question, do you think that it´s possible to buy a couple of fans for this cooler master v8 gts v2? first they look like they are asimatrical so i cant switch places between them, the front one is about to die, also a regular square one wont fit due to the mounting mechanism and the squareness will collide with the heatpipes on the bottom, i thought that maybe i could reshape a square fan with my angle grinder but im not sure it will fit, if i go full getto on this one, i could strap some zipties but at the cost of damaging the fins or even brake some, im looking into switch to water cooling just for fun and this could be an excuse but im not happy to throw a nice functional cooler. I´m using the v8 on my 7700k socket 1151 btw.
