Hey Guys, I've recently made a new thread about the components of my new PC, and I am quite satisfied. The only thing that I'm still not so sure about is the cooling. I want to stay away from water-cooling because well, it's a little risky and since I will probably be switching out some stuff once a year or so, I want to avoid the hassle of constantly dismantling the water cooling system. Here are my specifications for the build: Case: Corsair 350D Black w/ Window Motherboard: Evga X99 Micro Processor: Intel Core i7 5960x Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws4 DDR4 4X8GB 2666MHz CL15 Black Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX Titan X ( x2 in SLI ) Storage: Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD + WD Black 4TB HDD Power Supply: Corsair 1200w Professional Platinum --------------------------------------------------------- Cooling: * Now, I'm not sure should I go for a closed loop liquid cooler or an air cooler, so this is the main reason I posted on this thread. If possible, I would want this build to be as silent as possible, and the temps to stick around 70-80 degrees celsius at full load for the GPU & CPU. Fans: Corsair AF120 x3 + Corsair AF140 x2 *2 of the 3 AF120's would replace the fans on the liquid cooler Liquid Cooler for CPU: Corsair H100i OR H105 Air Heatsink for CPU: Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3 ( The 2 AF120's would replace the fans on this) ------------------------------------------------------- Peripherals: I'm open to suggestions, but here is what I'm going for now: Monitor(s): 2x Asus PA328Q 4K 32" Monitors Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma Mouse: Razer Ouroboros OR Logitech Performance MX ------------------------------------------------ Like I said, my main concern is the cooling and if anyone would be oh so helpful and advise me on how to keep the computer at 27-35 DB while using it. If anyone was wondering, these are the programs I would be using: Photoshop CC Premiere Pro CC Media Encoder CC I would be also playing video games , most likely triple AAA titles, for example Bioshock Infinite, the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight and many more. Please leave suggestions below, and follow if you are interested .

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm looking into the Corsair 350D case, which I want to combine with a Dark Rock 3 cooler. Which is equal in height as the maximum allowed CPU Cooler height, 160mm. So, now I want to ask. Will this give any problems? Will something bend, or something like that? Thanks in advance!

Hey, guys. So, I should be putting together my first build in a week or so but, somewhat last minute, I've started to think about my fans. As you should've put together from the title, my case is the 350D and I'm left a little unsure whether I should upgrade my fans or use the stock ones. This mostly comes down to how audible the stock ones are and, if they are relatively loud, then what should I get instead as a replacement? I'm perfectly aware there is more to fans than how loud they are so I've left a link to my planned build as well for insight in what kind of performance is needed, if that makes any sense. Though, as I've stressed, noise is my biggest priority. My build -----> http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/NuttyAvocado/saved/rd26Mp Thanks (Also, how quiet is the Hyper 212 evo? Or, at least, how quiet can it be, while still remaining functioning?)

So ... this question might require some thinking. After ordering my 350D, I am looking for a good motherboard. Immediately, the VI Gene struck me as the 'Perfect One'. However looking at it closely, I realize it will only allow 2 2-slot GPU's or a single GPU and a single PCI 1x card. So as I wanted both SLI and a sound card, I thought of this: Once the first GPU is plugged in, attach a PCI ribbon extender from the 1x slot and connect it to the sound card and screw it in the 5th expansion slot of the 350D (no support from mobo). Finally stick the 2nd GPU in the 2nd pcie 16x slot and tuck the ribbon behind the GPU. If you were able to follow, I have a few questions. 1) Will it work? 2) Will the tension from bracket hold up the sound card? 3) Will the mobo detect all cards and run them without a problem? EDIT: and no, please do not recommend the gigabyte one. (won't suit the color scheme).

Hey there everyone I just have a quick question I have Corsair 350i case and im unsure about the orientation of the fans. Which has on the front 2x140mm (useing 2x120) on the top 2x140mm(useing a H100i on there) and a rear 120mm im guessing that the rad would like there cooler air so would i use that as a in take ? but the top doesnt have a air filter. the front has a filter but do i run that in intake or out take ? what ever happens i end up with a odd number of intake or out take because of single rear fan I see people saying posative pressure is better to help stop dust settleing as much. heres the case in question any ideas of what i could do would be nice the pc is no way near finished being built at the moment but could see this coming us as a bit of a puzzle for me when the time comes.

Hello yall, I recently purchased a dust filter kit from DEMCifilter SA for my Corsair 350D case. I wanted to try them out, I seen them online and people seem to like them. I will start my experience from the moment I purchased them until I threw them in my case. The website was very easy to navigate, the left menu was a little bit crowded for me and small but I was able to find the Case filter section. After that was really easy to find the Corsair section and my case. I debated on getting only the top and 2 rear filters, the small and the fan ones, but then I decided to buy the full kit. They are in South Africa, keep that in mind, I wanted to buy directly from them but I believe some other companies sell their filter, like FrozenCPU for example but I am not sure if they sell the case kits. I decided to go with the cheapest shipping since it is a little expensive for being international. Payment was thought paypal, I got an email confirmation and everything was great. After a couple of days I realized I had not received a shipping confirmation email and I email them to make sure they had receive the payment. I got a reply and they explained me that the payment was received and that they were having problems with their automated email system, they gave me the tracking information. The package took a week to get to me, I live in the Midwester United States and was delivered by USPS. The package was in good conditions, the filter were encased in a couple of cardboard sheets, wrapped in packing paper and sealed with packing tape. They also came all in individual plastic bags and they were all inside a bigger plastic bag. It made the trip and I was happy to see it. My confusion started when I opened the bag and notices a weird shaped filter, since it did not match the size, shape and description on the website for my kit. It ended up being the front filter. It is not perfectly rectangular and it has some notches in the middle and on the edges. The website has this image as a description of the product: http://www.demcifilter.com/p0423/Corsair-Obsidian-350D-Dust-Filter-Kit.aspx I did not know what to make if it but in my curiosity I went and checked the Corsairs 750D kit since it is a very similar case, just ATX instead of mATX and to my surprise I found the front filter image to be the same shape, but smaller, of the one I received for my 350D. It even had a customer picture that I used to check the orientation of the filter. The front fan also has 2 magnet strips, one with double sided tape that of course you stick to the plastic of the front of the case and has a magnet and the strip that is on the filter itself. I neded up only using the REAR (L), REAR (S), TOP and FRONT filters. I have a Corsair AX860 psu and the fan almost never turns on so I left the original bottom filter of the case and for that same reason I did not use the PSU filter either. The all fit very well, even the top filter. I have an H100i on my case and even with the round head screws the filter sticks to the top very well. That is the only exhaust my case has since I am using the rear fan as an intake too. I sometimes turn my PC off and that is why I want to use the TOP filter, the H100 does not cover the holes on the top completely and I did not want dust to fall into the case thought the holes. The front filter does not hit my fans even without a grill and I am very happy with that. I have variable speeds on my fans and even with the fans on full speed the filter does not give in and it is really easy to peel off and replace. I was impressed because the magnets are really 'low power' I should say and they are easy to peel off and pace back in the case but they don't move, you need to shake the case furiously for the filter to get out of place. They also look nice and are not an eye sore like other filters I have seen. A pic of the front and the top so you guys/gals can see how they look: My only complaints so far are the automated email problems, the items description not being 100% accurate and price, they are a little expensive but I guess you get what you pay for so I will see in a week how they perform. I am leaving my PC on all week with my fans @ 100% to see how much dust they collect and how much dust gets in the case and I might do a follow up to this review. I am out!

BASIC INFO: So I've been looking to build a PC for some time now and I've now selected some parts that have peaked my interest. USAGE: So what I'm going to be using this new PC for is for mostly gaming. I'm looking to play some pretty demanding games at least at medium to high video settings with 40 FPS+. I also do a bit of rendering and 3D work here and there. BUDGET: I'm looking to try and keep this build under $2000 AUD (Excluding software and peripherals) P.S: This is my first build so I am a bit of a noob, so sorry if I make a few mistakes PC PART PICKER: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/YPJKcf PARTS: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Asus GRYPHON Z87 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Superclocked ACX Video Card Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer and all packed into a Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case. I appreciate all criticism and comments on what you think about my build etc. Thanks

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know that I'm starting a build in the Corsair 350D. It is going to be a dark blue/black themed build with very fine details and should look amazing. Parts: Corsair 350D, Asrock Z77Pro4-m, Patriot Viper Extreme 16GB DDR3 @ 1866MHz, Core i7-2600K, Sapphire HD7950 3GB GDDR5 Dual Fan edition, Antec Tp-750 modular psu, Kingston V200+ 120GB + 1TB Samsung Drive, Xigmatek DarkKnight Nighthawk edition. Most of these components are from my old rig so it's not the best performer but still does the job. I will be single sleeving the psu cables in a dark(navy) blue and black sleeving with black heatshrink. All of the fans are Corsairs SP and AF series fans. I have 2 white LED strips which I used in my other rig which was in a 650D and they looked amazing. All of the accessories are either black or blue so it should look really neat once it's all done. I also ordered an EK-FC7950 backplate to cover up the light blue pcb on the gpu. I even wrapped the CPU cooler's mounting system in a Matte black vinyl as I didn't like the chrome/silver finish. I'd also like to point out that all my sleeving, heat-shrink as well as tools are suppied to me by a sponsor ( Axon.Modding). He has his own ebay shop as well as a website so you can definitely check him out @ www.axonmodding.com I also run a Youtube channel which will have a build video as well as a sleeving video etc. www.youtube.com/DESPERADOtheREVIEWER I will be posting pictures very soon as well as making the videos and hopefully make on to the Wan Show to bring my sponsor (Axon.Modding) more views and customers.

Hey, So I'm pretty new to the Forum so bare with me as this is my first post! So I am in dire need of a new computer and want to build my own. (crazy I know right?) I want to do it right the first time and not skimp on any parts, but this would be my first time actually building a computer although I did pick the parts for my friends computer and helped him build it which turned out great. His build: Corsair 650D Gigabyte Z77 Dual Thunderbolt Mobo (UP4-TH) GTX 680 Some Antec PSU Blu Ray drive Crucial 256GB SSD WD Red 3TB HDD Some crappy CPU fan Anyway I had the idea of doing a water-cooled 350D because I like the size of it and the looks. I also want to do some custom sleeving. I want to water cool a GTX 770 and was wondering if I would just use a GTX 680 waterblock since they both use GK 104 cores? So here's my parts list at the moment: Hardware: Intel 4770K Intel 250GB SSD Seagate 2TB Corsair Builder Series 600 Watt PSU Gigabyte Z87 mATX Motherboard EVGA GTX 770 SuperClocked Corsair 350D Water-cooling: XSPC EX240 Rad XSPC EX120 Rad Swiftech Mcp655-B Pump XSPC Compression fittings XSPC Raystorm CPU block IC Diamond Thermal compound PrimoChill PrimoFlex tubing clear Swiftech MCRES Micro Reservoir Koolance Full coverage Waterblock for GTX 680 (?) 2X Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition Twin Pack I would love your suggestions for coolant. Something maybe either neon green or white? I'm also going to pick up some Ice Modz LEDs as well as sleeving. Usage: I will mainly be using this computer for Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) but will also be doing some gaming, and would like to game on ultra or high settings at 1920x1080. I will also be doing 3D modeling using cinema 4D and 3DS Max/Maya, so I will need some serious power. Mainly I want it to be pretty quiet and have no problems with the cooling loop. OS: I want to use windows 8 because it is the newest OS and will be updated the fasted. I might eventually also dual boot OSX but that is a very big maybe. As for windows 8 I was wondering if it is worth it to go with pro or just use the basic OEM version? Conclusion: Thanks for reading my post; any and all feedback is welcome! Hopefully all of these parts will work out because I think it will look pretty cool! Thanks again, ~LightKnight09

I built a PC for myself in 2012 to game on after a few heat related shutdowns for my laptop had me concerned for it's long term health. Since then my brother's old PC has died. I've decided I'm going to build myself a new one, and give him the one I built a couple years ago. This is my first foray into watercooling, even though it's just an all-in-one, I'd like some questions answered. Here are the specs that matter for my questions: Corsair 350D Motherboard - Asus Z97m-plus Micro ATX CPU - i7-4790k CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken x41 Memory - 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport I have some questions that hopefully another 350D owner could answer for me. I want to setup my fans and radiator like this(let me know if this arrangement makes no sense): http://i.imgur.com/j1fkOVF.jpg Image without my drawings(not my build btw, so thank you to whomever this image belongs to.) http://i.imgur.com/JGPJc3z.jpg And two of the motherboard I plan to use, the one in the image above appears to be an Asus z87 Maximus V Gene. http://www.asus.com/us/site/motherboards/Z97/assets/img/thumbs/enlarge/z97m-plus.jpg http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97MPLUS/websites/global/products/Yb2B5mnY2N5moc5x/img/hp/overview/overview.png The Kraken x41 is substantially thicker, at 36mm, than the x60 pictured is at 27mm. So my main question is, will the x41 + 140mm fan(TBD, but in all likelihood 25mm in thickness) fit without interfering with the motherboard? Has anyone seen an nzxt x41 mounted in this case before? I'm concerned about the DIMM slots, their tabs in particular, and any caps or anything else that may be sticking up off the board in that top right corner. I think their should be enough clearance to avoid anything sticking out of the board, but it's impossible to tell from any pictures. If I had the case and board in front of me I could probably eyeball it well enough to know. My other questions are: Will the Kraken x41 cool well enough to allow me to overclock the 4790k should I choose? I think it likely will, let me know if I'm wrong. Can I mount the CPU cooler upside-down if I need to? Meaning the non-radiator end, the part that actually sits on the CPU with the nzxt logo upside down. I'm thinking it might be tough to get the tubes to clear my RAM(which is very low profile) if they're on the right-hand side of the CPU. Besides Noctua, what fans do you recommend? It seems like the Corsair fans are good values, but I've heard good things about Akasa and Cougar. Do my airflow plans make any sense? I think I would be drawing cooler air from outside the case over the radiator than from inside to out. The two 140mm fans in front should push air right onto the GPU and then over just about everything else on it's way to the the top-back and rear fans. And lastly, has anyone seen LED fans in the front of the 350D? Can you see it glow from behind the front panel? How did it look? I think if the whole rectangular recess were lightly glowing it would look awesome.

Hey guys, GodsLt here! So i finally got enough money (and courage!) to begin building my very own gaming PC. I'M SO PUMPED. I've been researching parts for months now, I even popped up at NCIX to help with some aspects of the build. After long months of research (and waiting...), I've managed to come up with this: My budget is $1700 CAD plus or minus $25. Monitor: Asus VEH247H 23.6inch Power Supply: Rosewill Capstone 650M 80+ Gold Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 Memory: G.SKILL RIPJAWS x-series 8GB (2133mhz CL9) Motherboard: ASROCK Z87M Extreme4 LGA1150 Processor: Intel Core I5 4670K Cooler: Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme SSD: Samsung 840 EVO SSD (120gb) Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D Graphics Card: Asus Direct CUII R9 280x Cost comes to about $1426.00 CAD Total cost (including tax and shipping): $1673.00 CAD (BC tax ftl....) I'm ordering from newegg.ca! This computer will be used entirely for gaming (I have a 500gb laptop that's still going strong for school stuffs) so I think for BattleField 4, Strike Fighters, Bad Company 2, Combat Arms and BattleField Play4Free will fit neatly into 120gb. I also have access to Windows 8.1 and Office 2007 for free due to my bachelor's program, so that's sorted! Any comments, opinions, etc will be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone, First time poster and visitor of linustechtips, I have built 2 gaming PC's in the past and am gearing up for my third build. I am struggling however because I would like to give a shot at a mATX gaming rig. After the past two weeks I am torn with the question of whether or not I am setting my self up for doom down the road. I chose mATX because occasionally I will LAN at my friends houses and would like something more easily transportable but don't want to sacrifice performance. My fist question is about the case, I need something with great airflow and have been looking at: -Bitfenix Prodigy M -Bitfenix Phenom mATX -Corsair 350d -Aercool DS (Dead Silent) I want to ensure that during my sometimes marathon LAN gaming sessions with will not cause my PC to overheat to quickly as I have had a problem with that in the past. Also I have a question about wether an I5 Haswell 4760k build is good enough or should I just upgrade to an I7. I know many games don't use hyperthreading right now. I mainly play WoW, SC2, DOTA, and some FPS's THank You

So i got a nzxt guardian 921 rb right after Christmas with my own money and i like it, but unfortunately it doesn't match my new build that i will soon be getting and doesn't fit the gpu or cpu cooler that i want. So i want the corsair 350d windowed because it will fit everything i want and i really like it, but my parents think it will be a waste of my money since i just bought the other one. So i need your help to figure out a way that i can talk them into letting me get the case that i want. Thanks everyone!

Hello everyone! I've been a fan and subscriber to Linus Tech Tips for a long time, and it comes as no surprise that these forums are well managed. I've recently put together my first gaming computer inside a 350D. The case is beautiful, but unfortunately I'm having some issues: 1. The removable front bezel will not click into place. I've watched several reviews on youtube and prowled several forums looking for the reason, but have come up empty handed. Nothing is damaged or broken, I can see where the bottom of the bezel hooks in and I can hear the locking mechanism at the top working when I put it in, it just doesn't latch. I'm certain this is a user error, but after an hour of clicking the bezel, I gave up. Any suggestions would be great, as removing the bezel ruins the aesthetics of the case! 2. The white LED on the right hand side of the power button is not lighting. I'm using a P8H61-M motherboard from an ASUS prefab (no internal usb 3.0 connectors for my front panel D:) and I have the pLED- on the second prong from the right on the top of the I/O portion of the mobo. This is where every diagram I can find says to put it, but its not working. I've tried just fiddling with it and plugging the +/- in various places, nothing seems to help. I can't accept that the LED simply isnt working. Any advice, again, would surely clear this up. Thank you for you time and patience, I appreciate the help! Loving my new RIG, though the MOBO/CPU will need to be upgraded quickly.
