I'm in the market for a monitor for my laptop to make a docking station-style setup. This Lenovo seems to check all my boxes: 27" 4K Thunderbolt 4 4ms response time Around $500 US (though converted into my currency) HDR400 I found a couple others that were in my price range, and also had Thunderbolt and 4K, though one of them (Samsung Viewfinity S8) had really bad reviews and the other one (an LG Ultrasharp or Ultrafine, I think) had reviews that said it tended to develop dead pixels. Since it's marketed more toward professional uses, the reviews all seem to focus on that. I did find one review that it's not recommended for gamers, though the review doesn't mention why. I don't play super fast-paced games like shooters or racers, and I don't really care for anything beyond 60Hz (I play mostly action-adventure, RPGs and platformers, Mario Kart and Smash are about the fastest-paced games I play). Also, before it's asked, the monitor is not only for my Switch gaming, I also intend to stream content through the laptop, and in a few months, game on a PS5, that's why I'm looking for 4K and not FHD or QHD. Is anyone familiar with this monitor and why it might not be good for gaming, besides the refresh rate? Does anyone have any other/better recommendations around that price point with Thunderbolt 3/4, 27" and 4K?

I can finally create a proper desk setup, since I currently have a bunch of disconnected nonsense instead of a single cohesive setup. It will all revolve around a monitor, to which I will connect at least 2 gaming consoles, with more down the line, plus one laptop. I have a set of Edifier USB speakers, and I want to know what the best way to connect everything to the speakers would be. An A/V receiver is not an option because they are way too big and expensive, so I don't know what other options I might have. The speakers do have the option of using a 3.5mm aux cable to connect. Would using the monitor's 3.5mm audio out jack have any discernible impact on audio quality? What other ways could I try to connect everything to the same speakers?

Ever since I made my last post here about wanting to get into console gaming, I feel like I’ve reconsidered a game that I hadn’t given much thought to before but now believe I will enjoy- Sonic Colors. But I do have a small problem: Do I go with the Wii version or the DS version? (It’s another 1 of MANY games that I didn’t get the chance to play growing up.) Now according to this fandom link, there are a good number of differences between versions, but not nearly as extensive compared to Sonic Unleashed for example. Sonic fandom link: Sonic Colors | Sonic News Network | Fandom So, the plan when I made this post was to try & make it into like a poll or something where people can voice their opinions openly in. Only problem was I didn’t know how to do that, so I guess a regular post will have to suffice. But anyway, I would like to hear everyone’s opinion on which version of the game you think is best & why as it will help me to make up my mind. :) Thanks in advance & I look forward to hearing from you!

Drive Swaps in a PS4 Pro (LTT Community Opinion Request)
PineyCreek posted a topic in Console Gaming
Yeah, I know, this topic has been around...mmm...basically since the PS4 first launched. To be clear upfront, I know how to swap the hard drive in a PS4 and I know what to do to get that drive working. I'm specifically looking for the opinions from the LTT community. An SSD would (for the most part) speed up load times, including in-game textures which would reduce pop in, and an increased drive size would enable more games to be installed on the drive itself. I guess the main query is, considering the SATAII bottleneck of the PS4's interface, is it really worth it to go SSD, or would it just be better to get another mechanical HDD of a higher capacity? If anyone's done that swap, did you feel the SSD made a distinctively marked improvement to your experience? -
hi there, i'm planing on replacing my dvd player at the moment with one of these two gaming consoles. witch is better? I need to be able to put a fast ssd or m.2 into it and I would like it to have a wider range of games. also I would like to be able to charge the controllers easily. I am pairing this with the new Samsung s95b tv.

Well, the console-gaming journey continues. I have definitely made some progress since my last post here, but there are still certain questions & topics yet to be answered. 1. Has anyone here had any experience with GameFlip? I stumbled upon them after doing a Google search, & they appear to be a decent option for getting games & possibly consoles on the cheap. But I'm not so sure. After looking up reviews for them, there are some negative reviews for them as well as certain complaints, but I'm not sure if the reviews I have seen are fake or just what. Anyway, I would like to hear from any of you if you have had any dealings or experience with them! 2. I have checked out Ebay & Facebook Marketplace & they have a lot of what I'm looking for. Only problem is the various prices & the distance between me & the seller(s) on FB Marketplace. Also, I'm not a big fan of Ebay for certain reasons. If I had a vehicle of my own, I would be able to travel the distance for some of these FB Marketplace listings. But since I don't & I'm unemployed, that makes it all the more complicated for me. With that being said, I was wondering if anyone could give me any website suggestions/recommendations where I might be able to get games & game consoles for dirt cheap prices without getting ripped-off or scammed in the process? Great, low prices, & excellent selection/availability, etc. BTW, if it helps, I'm located in central Illinois USA. [I recently updated my profile so there shouldn't be any issues if you want some info about me.] So yeah, hope you guys have some great suggestions or recommendations! Also, if you need any details which might allow you to help me, go ahead, ask & I'll fill you in! Thanks ahead of time to anyone who might be able to help!

I always install games in my hard drive of my xbox 360 even if it doesn't prompt me to do so however in some games that i have installed and played i have had some problems. For example i installed and played batman arkham origins and after few days i found out that my save game files have been corrupted. A save game issue also took place when i installed Thief.it doesn't load to the second mission, instead of loading second mission it loads to a checkpoint in first mission. Then recently i started playing sniper elite v2 and in the opernplatz mission after clearing area it doesn't continue with the rest of objectives. i gave all these games to a friend of mine and he has played these games without installing and he hasn't faced any problems. So does installing games on the 360 cause problems like this?i have some other games to play and i don't want it to happen again.

Hey guys! I need some advice from some fellow techies! Here is my current situation: I just moved in with my girlfriend and because she appreciates the nerd in me, is allowing me to use the office as a game room! I currently have a 60 inch 4ktv mounted in the middle of the wall that is my main tv with sonos playbar and play 1s in the back, with two 42 inch tvs to the right of the 60 over and under each other, these were just older tvs that I threw up because why the hell not! My problem: I have an Xbox one, a PS4, a wii, a switch, a SNES classic, a cable box and an Apple TV, also but not needed an extra blue ray player n64 and a retro duo nes and snes system that could be added but I don't need to. So! Here I am, reaching out to all the gamers out there! I am trying to come up with some creative solutions to connect all these gaming/ watching devises to the Tvs I have. So so far my idea is to plug a 1x5 hdmi splitter into each tv and move them as needed. I did see a 2x5 splitter but havnt seen a 3x anything. The dream is to be able to use one tv for gaming always, one for sports(when needed) and one for my girlfriend to watch tv/movies on when I camp in the room for 10hrs + SO! Does Any other gaming lovers like myself have any suggestions or idea of how to solve my problem?(ps the tvs are slightly off right so I can plug hdmis into them and then they will be perfectly alligned after) Thanks for any and all help on this matter!

I have been getting red ring of death in my console and the error code that i got was 0102. The cause for this is known to be a cold solder point or the heat sink and in my case i think its the heat sink thats causing it because every time i remove the heat sink and put it back it works but then the next day again i get RROD .

So one of my friends bought mad max and he said it took him 3 hours to install the game where as other games like GTA V took only like 1 hour to install. Is this the normal installation time for this game?

I have got myself an Xbox 360 controller and i would like to use it to play R6, however I'm struggling to catch up with the change maybe because i haven't played an FPS game using a controller in like 2 years now. Back then I used to be good at FPS games like call of duty with the controller and i thought it might be comfortable to play R6 using a controller as well. I find myself mostly having trouble leaning and hitting moving targets since you have to ADS and do the lean with the sticks. I find it difficult to do it fast in a heated fight. For starting the game with a controller what tips can u give and what settings do u use when u play. Thanks

hi, i own a wireless xbox 360 controller and a broken xbox 360. i want to connect my controller to my pc but im unable to get one of those receivers from Microsoft to where i live. So i thought of building one myself from my broken console as shown in this link : https://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Xbox-Controller-Receiver-for-PC/ My next problem is that the instructions state u need a 5 Volt Zener Diode to build it. On my way home i checked several electronics shops but none of them had 5 Volt Zener Diodes. i dont have much knowledge in these components,i want to know if it is possible to do this safely without damaging my pc with some other type of diode or something else perhaps?

Okay, so in mid-2018 I bought a Nintendo Switch and have loved it, this is my 1st console. Other than Minecraft on an old PC, The legend of Zelda was my first video game. Now here I am almost a year later in 2019 and I'm debating whether or not I want to buy a PS4. So I was hoping so of you guys could tell me if it would really be worth it. Generally I seem like either games where I can just shut off my brain and play, or just the opposite- turn my brain on for puzzles and deep stories. The only thing keeping me from having already bought the console is just not having enough information about the games available. So far some of the games that are on the PS4 that I'm interested in are; NieR: Automata, Persona 5, Hitman (1 & 2), Grand Theft Auto V, & Final Fantasy. I've never Been a big "gamer" but after watching gameplay of these games I've become really interested. I just wanted to hear from a community if they think buying the system and some of the games would be worth it for me (also based on these games I'm interested in any game recommendations are welcome).

Hey guys I'm here from YouTube ( maybe I shouldn't admit to that?) I have a question about a monitor I'm looking to buy. The guy at my local computer shop was absolutely no help. In order to save space in my bedroom I ditched my TV to make room for the computer I'm building. which means no TV for my PlayStation. I settled on this monitor about a week ago and have been waiting for a paycheck to pick it up. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Keyword=c27hg70&Item=N82E16824022583 A friend of mine however pointed out a possible issue. This monitor is running at 1440p native and might be blurry on Console games. this obviously won't be an issue for my finished PC, but I may have a rough time with my PS4. I'd hate to admit it, but I'm not really that literate when it comes to this sort of thing. Will it be a blurry mess because of downscaling or some such thing like that? I won't be very far away from it sitting at a desk, also I play most genres if that's relevant, FPS, RPG's, and a few sports games. Also a second less relevant question. I could do the research like a big boy, but I'll ask here instead. (In case someone is willing to answer). I have a second hand graphic card that I'm going to use for now but I eventually want to upgrade. Any recommendations on a AMD graphic card for this or a similar monitor?

Hey guys, I've been playing on the Xbox one X for a while now. My current display is a vizio 1080p 3D (lol) Wal-Mart special tv from over 10 years ago(I believe 12 years ago). Needless to say it is way past time to upgrade. I'm hoping to not break the bank on this. So I'm thinking 1440p is the way to go. Something I can get a great clear good looking gaming experience with. I sit at a desk when I game so smaller is just fine. I would like to be able to use some of the features this hardware has, but mostly i'm looking forward to the end of the year and sitting on this tv with the capabilities the Series X will bring would just be silly. I mean lets be honest not having upgraded up to this point is well a sad thing. I mean my tablet my school sent me to use for classes has a better panel than this tv. So any insight would be amazing. Thanks guys.

Hello, I'm new to this community and i really hope you guys can shed some light on this problem. Ok so im PC gamer with a with gtx 1070 paired with a 6700k CPU, so almost all the time i play games at 60fps. But with the release of some great PS4 exclusives like "Horizon zero dawn" and "God of war", I tried some of these exclusives on my friend's console. I knew those games were running at 30fps but it seemed a lot smoother than 30fps setting on PC game. I searched about this and found out that frame pacing is the main reason behind this. (Also there are some theories that even console controllers can support in this smoothness) So could you please explain whether its possible to achieve the same amount of smoothness in a PC at 30fps?

Hya! So i am curious as what you guys think i should buy. A local store over here will sell the PS4 slim for 185€ starting from tomorrow until the end of the weekend. Fun things is, i work there s o i get a 20% discount (Which will make it around 150€). But, since i am the kind of person who always wants the best. I am also considering buying a barebones PS4 Pro (For 299€ which includes my discount). Thing is i don't have a 4K display/TV but i know it still makes some difference even on FullHD tv's. So what do you guys think i should buy? Just play it safe and take the pro or save some money and buy the slim? Thanks in advance!
