First of all my specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x 8-Core Processor GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (Drivers up to date) Motherboard: Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite (Drivers up to date) RAM: VENGEANCE RGB PRO 32GB (16+16) PSU: EVGA GOLD 650 WATT (don't really remember the PSU I have, but remember this info) I'm reaching out for assistance with a persistent stuttering issue I've been experiencing primarily in Fortnite, although it's also noticeable in other games to a lesser extent. In Fortnite, these stutters are particularly troublesome, causing my frame rate to plummet from a steady 300 down to as low as 20-80 sporadically, before bouncing back up instantly. While the problem isn't as severe in other games, it still pops up from time to time. This stuttering problem has been a thorn in my side for quite some time now. Despite upgrading various components of my PC, including switching from an AMD Ryzen 5 5800x CPU and a GTX 1660 Super GPU, the issue persists. I even went as far as swapping out my motherboard, though that was primarily to ensure compatibility with the new CPU. I've diligently explored every troubleshooting avenue available online, tinkering with Windows registry settings and resorting to a complete factory reset in hopes of a resolution. Although there has been some marginal improvement, likely due to updates from Fortnite, the stutters remain an annoyance. I've tried various tweaks such as capping FPS with RTSS, overclocking my CPU to mitigate potential bottlenecks, and adjusting BIOS settings like NVIDIA resizable BAR—all without success. Even toggling RAM XMP settings hasn't provided a lasting solution, although I've opted to keep it enabled for improved RAM performance. At this point, I feel like I've exhausted all options short of building an entirely new PC from scratch. Given the frustration of experiencing stuttering on what many would consider a high-performance PC, any insights or suggestions would be immensely appreciated. I'm eager to restore smooth gaming experiences, especially in Fortnite, which has been marred by these persistent stutters. If you have any advice or solutions to offer, I'd be incredibly grateful. (Before someone asks, yes i did use chat GPT lol, needed to make the reason sound comprehendible as I tend to cramp everything into one place) if you have any further questions about my issue please let me know, thank you in advance

Budget (including currency): (ZAR)R20 000 Country: South Africa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, blender, visual studio, valorant, minecraft, Jenshin compact Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello, I would like assistance with building a computer. I have selected some parts and created 2 separate builds Intel/AMD. I'm not sure which one i should go with in terms of price to performance. My brother whom helped me picking parts suggested i wait till next year February/January for new tech to come out, so that prices drop. Is now a good time to buy PC parts, or should i wait to find better deals? and should i go for intel or AMD? I was told that intel is more user friendly and AMD can sometimes have problems, where the user is needed to go into the computer setting to change stuff. I have peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard and headset. I would also like to be able to play games on a 1920 x 1080 monitor (which i will buy separately) at atleast 144hz. Any guidance will be appreciated

Valve claims that only 9.4% of current gaming rigs are ready for VR... but as that number is based on the results of the Steam Hardware Survey, we don't think that it paints an accurate picture of the proportion of gaming PCs that are ready for VR that people actually intend to use for VR gaming. So, being a part of this awesome forum community full of enthusiasts, we decided to see if we could paint a more accurate picture of the current state of the "VR for PC" market. If you plan on using your gaming PC for VR, please take part in this test. Run the SteamVR Performance Test that Valve currently has available (through steam, you can find it at this link), and once you have your results, please do the following: 1. Comment below listing the following specs of your PC: Rig name Cpu Gpu Ram Score 2. Add a screenshot of your SteamVR Performance Test results. 3. Answer the poll question in this thread. And that is all we need! Thanks so much for taking part in this fun little survey - let's see how many of you are truly ready for VR gaming! If you thought this was cool and want to take part in another fun survey that we have here on the forum, check out @Jumper118's Cinebench R15 thread here.

So I ordered myself a new CyberPowerPC (nothing super high end) for some casual gaming and for the most part, its been fine other than the INSAINE packet loss ive been getting since day one. What is odd about my case, is that ill have unplayable lag for a time, but on some "good days" Ill have very little noticeable packetloss. I essentially have to pray that my computer will let me play for that day without sending my ingame character 15 feet backwards every 3 seconds. This Packetloss doesn't just occur while in games, but using discord for instance, sending messages will take a significant amount of time one moment but will be quick and snappy some other times. I also don't think its based off of how many people are using the network, as the Packetloss seems to be entirely random. Also another thing to note is that my old Intel computer never had this sort of issue. Weird. I went in and used Ping Plotter, and of course see red bars to almost every IP Address. Im not quite sure what to make of it, other than there is packet loss.. Ill provide a screenshot below (Not sure of the IP addresses should be shown to the public, but if they are ill list them off.) VVV These bars are always changing, sometimes theres only one bar, sometimes theres other addresses with PL and sometimes like this its absolute mayhem. VVV

I built a new computer a couple of months ago and it has been running perfectly fine until recently. I've tested to see if anything was overheating, but the max temp for my CPU was around 80C and my GPU was around 70C. I've updated all of my drivers and made sure my windows was up to date. I tested my memory to see if anything was faulty, but after running memtest86 everything looked fine. Reset my computer and ran bleachbit a bunch of times. I even made sure every cable was fully plugged in to my computer just in case something had gotten loose. I have tried just about everything I can think of but to no avail. Hi all, I have been watching the LTT live stream recently and saw Linus do 6 gamers one CPU and thought about giving something similar ago myself just on a much smaller scale, ie two computers one chassis for a LAN event. The unit I have was used in an industrial setting but they retired it earlier this year and I bought it for cheap to make into a home lab but I haven't the time or knowledge to make it a home lab server but I thought about using it when I go to LAN events. Obviously the idea would be to run a virtual machine off the server and add in some external graphics cards for the display and gpu stuff needed. Does anyone know if one this is even possible with a hp proliant dl380 g7 and two could I run more than one machine if this worked. Thanks

Hello all, randomly when playing games, browsing the web, even just using discord my computer seems to freeze for about 1-10s, it disconnects everything currently connected to my pc via usb and then reconnects them and I un-freeze. If I am playing a game the game doesn't even crash, and after the 1-10s I can just continue playing like it never happened. It seems to trigger quite often when someone joins or leaves my discord channel but I think that could be just a big coincidence as that doesn't really make any sense. I've tried using event viewer to source the issue, and discovered every time I freeze I get a Kernel Event Tracing error id 28. I think this may just be due to the fact that when I freeze my peripherals disconnect then reconnect , but every time I plug in my ASTRO A50's and my Hyper X Quadcast S I get those errors. Not sure if those errors could cause the freeze in the first place though. Seems to happen about only once a day not sure if i can remember if it's happened more than once in a day and I use my computer for hours upon hours everyday. Any help appreciated been dealing with this pretty much ever since I built the PC and I can't take it anymore. My specs: GPU : Asus Strix 3080 CPU : i9 13900k MOBO : Asus z790-e RAM : Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 64gb 6400mhz PSU : Corsair Shift Series 1000W NVME(s) : Corsair MP 600 and Corsair MP 600 PRO XT OS : Win 10 Pro I have tried upgrading my PSU from 850w to 1000w didn't fix it. I have tried upgrading my RAM from 32gb 6000mhz to 64gb 6400mhz didn't fix it. I have tried upgrading my MOBO from asus z690e to asus z790e didn't fix it. I have tried doing a complete clean install of windows (formatting the drive it was originally installed on and reinstalling with a USB) didn't fix it. I have tried replacing the A50's and Quadcast with brand new ones, didn't fix it. I have tried going into Power Management and turning off USB Selective Suspend, also went into device manager and made every single device that had the option of not allowing the pc to turn it off unchecked. I have tried updating bios to most current one, didn't fix it. Please someone help still not resolved as of 11/10/23
