This is a follow up post for previous thread regarding CMOS reset issue. A new problem rises. When using both ram slot my pc keep showing no signal and stuck at EZ debug light for ram. I have tried both slot using single slot setting and also tried swapping both ram in the same ram slot and it work as intended, no issue. Here's my general info of my specs Mobo: MSI B550m Pro (2 ram slots) GPU: RTX 2060 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Ram: KLEVV 2x8gb

After a CMOS reset by plugging out the battery I've been experiencing black screen (no signal). Below are the steps that I have done 1. Plug out all cord (power, usb, etc.) 2. remove ram and gpu 3. remove CMOS batterry and jump JB10 using a screwdriver 4. Press power button for 30 second to remove any power in the mobo 5. Wait 5 Minute before reinstalling the CMOS battery 6. Install gpu and ram back (I've tried to swap ram slot) I also have read multiple forum post regarding this issue. And some might say that it reset video output from GPU to iGPU. But in my case my CPU does not come with iGPU. How do I fix this problem if it is does occur Here's my setup: Mobo: MSI B550m Pro GPU: RTX 2060 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Ram: KLEVV 8gbx2 Any help would be much appreciated

I'll try to keep this as short as possible. Asus prime X370 pro bios keeps resetting every time i boot. Date and time stay stuck around the same time i turn off the power switch. So far I've tested 3 cmos batteries in 2 different systems. All 3 batteries work fine in another system but these same batteries have no effect on my x370 Pro. There is no clear CMOS button, the two pins for cmos clearing are open and not touching each other. No jumper either. Updated the bios to a new stable one and still having same issues. Could anyone please help? Ram: 12x8gb Teamgroup Vulcan 3200, CPU: 3600, 512gb Silicon power Nvme, Antec Egde 750w psu.

I’ve posted this thread on a few forums and subreddits but I haven’t had much luck yet. Hopefully Linustechtips forum come through for me! I have been having super strange issues with my pc today and I cant figure out what needs replacement. Im 99% sure its either my motherboard or RAM but honestly its getting really confusing. Its a long story so Ill make it as short and to the point as possible: My PC was having a really hard time editing 4k, I asked reddit and found out it was my CPU bottlenecking, but also running at super high temps. I dust out my PC, reapply thermal paste, and remount heatsink. It works fine and temps are much much better, but then my PC blue screens twice trying to stress test in premie. I download software to read crash logs and the first crash is a software error and the second is hardware, most likely bumped my RAM. Okay so I open up my PC and reseat both my RAM sticks, but now it wont even post. After tedious trial and error I get to post by removing one (of two) of my 8gb RAM sticks as well as resetting CMOS. So its a broken RAM stick, but just to make sure I run windows memory diagnostic. On restart I get a blue screen saying my PC needs repairs and it shuts off again. Now it wouldnt post again after 3 tries of turning it on and off again. So I reset CMOS again and it boots. So here I am, down 8gb of RAM, wondering if my motherboard is broken or it really is just the RAM stick. I’m terrified to restart my pc cause I don’t want to reset cmos again to get it to boot. So I just upgraded from GTX 1060 to Asus RTX 2060 12 GB. As soon as I did it I played game for few mins. Everything was fine because I had enabled Vsync so that was capping at 60 fps. As soon as I disabled it to check how further it goes. After 5 mins game got crashed, closed and system got hanged. Then I tried to boot it up again but no display port. Both gpu fans spinning. Then I put my older card and same issue. Afterwards, I reset the CMOS jumper to reset BIOS putting screw driver for 10 seconds and removed the battery for 2-5 mins. I also removed my one RAM slot(2 *GB sticks) and then boot it up again and it worked. So here's what happened: 1) after that, when I logged in first time after few mins blue screen error came up. 2) I tried 2nd time to boot up and everything seemed fine. 3) Then I installed my 2nd RAM stick and seemed everything is working 4) Then I changed it to my newer GPU and played it for a while. So far it seems to be working. I even played under heavy gpu load for a while(99% usage, 80C temp, 180W) and it seemed stable NOW, I'm really worried about what I should do. Hi, I’ve recently tried to overclock my ram using MSI’s memory try it after being recommended by a friend, it goes well till I have to do a CMOS reset due to a black screen. This happens a few times and so I reset and just leave it alone. and on the last few boot ups I’ve been getting disk errors which can’t be repair by the windows self repairer. any idea what’s caused this and how to fix or am I just straight up needing a new HDD now? any help would be appreciated, Thanks!!

Moin! (german) I bought a used MSI P67A-C43 (b3) with a i7-2600k (+towor cooler) and 4x4GB Crucial 1600MHz RAM. (I buy used HW and sell Gaming-PC's) After the first startup i restarted the System to make sure, that the right drivers are loaded. I testet the System with a Cinebench und a 3DMark run, it worked fine. Then i tried a multiplier-oc in the BIOS, 42-45 not sure. I doesn't change anything else,. The most options were on "auto", as i remember. The oc failed, system didn't POST. Fans ware on "high speed". I did not realy care about the oc, so i shutdown the System, disasasembled, and cleaned it. I checked the pin's on the mobo and assambled a Gaming-PC with this parts. Then i startet the System; no POST. Now it's get interresting; After a BIOS reset, button on the back, jumper oder battery remove, the system POST and i can get in the BIOS with any RAM. But after a restart, with or without changing some settings or loading defaults, the System doesn't POST anymore. Not even beepcodes. The System is only able to start everytime and restart with only an 2GB Stick, in any slot. Working Sticks: 2GB Kingston 1333MHz, 2GB Kingston 1600MHz Dual Rank, 2gb Elixir 1600MHz not Working: 4GB Crucial 1600MHz, 4GB Samsung 1600MHz, Kingston 4GB 1600MHz, 8GB HyperX Savage 1866MHz The BIOS was uptodate, there is no newer BIOS avaible (V5.4). It is not possible to install an older BIOS because the latest BIOS update is also updating the Firmware. And the newest BIOS can only be installed in windows with an exe, so i did. It seems to help, i could restart several times with the Hyperx 8GB Stick and it worked fine. Than i put the 4x4GB Crucial Sticks in, no POST... The HyperX 8GB Stick dosen't Post anymore also. Even the 2GB Sticks don't POST everytime anymore.... I also tried an other PSU (Cooler MWE 550W -> be quiet 500W SFX-L), an other Graphics Card (GTX 970 -> GTX 1650) and CPU (i7-2600k -> i3-2120 -> i5-3470). It doesn't help at all. Has anyone an idea what is going on? I didn't belive that the hardware is broken, because it POST after an BIOS reset with any RAM. Please forgive me my english, i'm german and it is 3:26am now. And i missed basicly the WAN-Show because i was concentrating on the writing. Thanks!

After removing the CMOS Battery (it was the recommended fix for the video card not outputting a signal), my motherboard would not power on. Attempting to short the power pins on the motherboard doesn't turn it on. The only sign that the board is getting power is through an orange led on the motherboard. The light is constant and doesn't flash and no beeping is audible. I am on a rather limited budget due to college classes, so replacing the board isn't exactly something I want to do this month. The System has slowly been seeing its parts be replaced over the years, so many of the parts are not stock. These include the Case, PSU, GPU, RAM and assorted storage devices. After further investigation, and trying out the stock PSU, it appears that it might be an issue related to the pins that link up with the power button.

Hey guys, I need some new input. Well, the title is pretty self-explanatory. My PC wouldn't start, it turns on and shuts off immediately. What happened the night before: for some reason arch linux went sleep and I couldn't wake it up so I kill-switched it with PSU on-off switch (don't think that's the cause or is it?), so the morning I push the start button and voila, it won't start. PSU makes a "click" sound, Q code shows 00 and the it shuts down. Narrowed down to 3 parts: MOBO, CPU and RAM. Everything else is literally unplugged. The PSU tested on my other PC, works just fine. Visually inspected MOBO, looks normal. No smell. Checked for loose cables. SPECS: ASUS ROG STRIX X299-E GAMING Intel i9 7900x GSKILL 8*8GB Trident Z RGB 3200Mhz 850 EVGA G3 GOLD SOLVED What I did was remove the CMOS battery and followed the "Clear RTC RAM" instructions.
