Budget (including currency): not sure yet Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: fornite, valorant, light gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My daughter wants to get into PC gaming. She asked for a pc but all she said is that it'll be for light gaming. For some context she started gaming on a switch when the pandemic started (animal crossing) but she is starting to venture out to other games. She does play on my laptop, but I rather have something a little better. She just started gaming so I do want to future proof it as much as possible. Any suggestions on which route to go? I am thinking AMD Ryzen 3 with a GPU that can get her high fps at 1080

what is a good around us$100 for basic vr (rec room quest crescendo, Minecraft, roblox vr, you get the idea) in the current gpu market that will be able to hold its ground enough for the chip shortage to end so then a upgrade can happen then. it would also be nice for it so be able to run some games at 60 fps like borderlands 3 and others even if at very low settings. I have a quest 2 but it does not have all of the features that I need just by its self (does not have the things that I listed) as long as I get about 60 fps in vr I am normally good and I don't care if I need to edit resolution settings

I have i5 4440 and 8 GB RAM. I upgraded my GPU to RTX 2060 but I am getting only 10 - 20 fps in games with a 1080p medium setting. Games tried: GTA 5 and God of war. In starting of gameplay it shows 60+ fps but then it goes down to 20- fps. GPU temp remains at around 50 - 60 Celcius.

Budget (including currency): 950$ Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I want to learn some basics of 3D graphics and video editing but PC will be mostly used for gaming (RDR 2, Borderlands 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider etc.) Other details I created part list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j39L78 aside from PC I also need monitor and keyboard. Later on I'm planning to upgrade rig with 3060 ti. As monitor I picked msi optix 241 but there is ongoing dicount for https://iiyama.com/gl_en/products/g-master-gb2470hsu-b1/ what's your opinion about this monitor? If it's bad can you recommend me any in similar price range? (I'm looking for 24", 1080p and at least 120 Hz) As it's my first build I have a few questions. Is there a big difference between ram with CL 16 and 18? I wanted to go with Samsung 980 as boot drive but it's an dramless ssd which are slower but from the other hand I've heard that nvme drives are so fast that it doesn't make a difference, and now I want to hear your opinion on that. I'm also a little worried about connecting everything to psu, like pluging somewhere wrong connector, or bending pins so any advice and tips on that would be appreciated

Budget (including currency): 1100$ usd but maybe with the gpu i go over-budget Country: Paraguay but i will buy from USA amazon the ram and the cpu is cheaper Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, Genshin Impact, video editing and maybe some code compilation but mostly i do it on a 2016 macbook pro I'm buying all the parts to build my first pc on December until now i just have a: Ryzen 5 5600x (160$ from usa) Cooler Master TD500 white mesh (100$ from py) And i will pair with: Kingston NV2 1TB M.2 (70$) Motherboard some gamer B550 no idea which yet (160$) (I think is better atx but the B550M are cheaper..) Power Supply a 750w bronce with good internet reviews it just depends for which ones i find available (110$ aprox) but i did find a used 850w gold for 70$ (I will upload the picture) which compare to others it is really cheap even on the used ones and in know power supply you don’t cheap out but it have 10 years of guarantee of course no to me if i buy used but i suppose will work great if they can "guarantee" 10 years and a 850w i would like to future proofing Used RTX 3060 ti the used ones are visually all in great condition and really good prices like the MSRP of usa but the new ones kind expensive so i think will go used and will look for the difference in price with 3070 if it is just a couple $ more even if it is more out of budget if it worth it i think ( $ => $450) But the ram I "want" a Corsair Vengeance RGB pro white 32gb ($113, the regular one is just 13$ less so is not worth it i think) to be honest i just love the design and that it is white but as you can see i'm kinda over budget so there is another option the Teamgroup Vulcan 32gb they look the same in specs but it is just 72$ all time low in price and both i will spend 20$ more for the import tax and shipping but are they equally in performance ? and i saw people ask if the Vulcan is compatible with they motherboards and there is a list https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/support/view_product.php?status=tg&select1=PC&select2=Gaming Memory&select3=vulcan-tuf-ddr4&select4=16GBx2&select5=3200&select6=16-18-18-38 (wrong timing but just that one it shows) should i worry about incompatibly? because i think the corsair any motherboard will work fine i guess.. as i said i will buy a good motherboard for gaming with a reasonable good price of course but it will not be the entry level but i honestly don’t know much about it either. So yeah the ram should be after the motherboard but because i will ship from usa and i want to be for december i should order this week first and the others products i can buy in a couple of days on December no much problem (a long you have the money is fast xd) And my monitor is a ultrawide LG 29wn600-w" 2560 x 1080 of resolution so it is easier to run than 1440p it will be at least a couple of years before I buy a 4k tv or monitor if this affect some of your tips. So yeah my question is about the ram but if you have any tips or advice it will be much appreciated!

I am looking for a Laptop around 1300€ for some time now. I looked at the HP Omen (decided against it because I really want to be able to connect 2 displays ), at the Lenovo Legion y520 (Amazon tells me it will be out at 29th of march , but I like the USB type C port), and at the Dell Inspiron 15 with the i7 and 1050Ti (decided against it because I really want to be able to connect 2 displays ). Today I found the ASUS FX502VM-FY256T it has an i7-7700HQ 8GB of ram Full HD display a 3 GB GTX 1060 a M.2 128GB SSD and a 1 TB harddrive but the most impressive thing are the ports: 1x mini DisplayPort 1x HDMI 1x ThunderBolt and 3x USB 3.0 Does it have any major downsides because it looks like the cheapest 1060 Laptop and it has a really good variety of ports ( even thunderbolt at this pricepoint o.O) ?

I absolutely love ultra compact builds and by that I mean sub 7L cases which are more or less the same footprint as 17" laptops. I move to various locations a lot and even the RVZ02 is heavy to me. But the pricing on crowdfunded cases is just brutal. Yes I know it's low production hand crafted stuff there but I can't afford to pay the same price as a console for just a case for a secondary gaming system. The A4 SFX cost more than a PS4 and I know it's made by Lian Li but come one. The only high production case that I've found so far is the ML06-E and ML09 from Silverstone but then again I'll need a GTX 1050 LP. Which cost the same as a used Xbox One. Now to be fair I'm more about family entertainment that pure performance and graphics and I don't want redundancy with my PC so there is that.

So I've been trying to figure out what build to get, and my budget is currently 400$ and I want to know if this build is good enough ? Intel Pentium G4400 3.3 GHz dual core Gigabyte h110m-A-MicroATX Crucial DDR4 RAM 8gb 1 stick ADATA Premier 240SSD ( i saw this build video where this guy all he used was a 240GB SSD with windows 10 and installed multiple games on it ? with no HDD? ) ( or should i just get a HDD and only that ) XFX Radeon RX460 2GB Rosewill R363-M-BK My budget is 400$ but i want to have atleast a good 20-30-40$ left over

After a couple of days of looking around I have narrowed down my searches towards a video editing/ gaming PC and it comes down to the Acer Aspire VX 15 VX5-591G-75RM or the Lenovo LEGION Y520. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N12YZ7B?ref=emc_b_5_t https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Y520-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XWFCKYX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493670641&sr=8-1&keywords=Y520#HLCXComparisonWidget_feature_div However the Lenovo comes down to $999 USD when you buy from Costco https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-LEGION-Y520-Gaming-Laptop---Intel-Core-i7---4GB-NVIDIA-Graphics---1080p.product.100347159.html So basically it is coming down to which is the better buy right? What do you guys think? The way I'm seeing it is they are practically the same computer in slightly different skins, at least that's how I see it. The comes with the same GPU and CPU and RAM at least its 16GB I don't know about MHz. The storage is another story, where both run with 256GB SSD, Lenovo adds on 2TB of HDD, but its 5400RPM which is a big downside for me because I would have liked a 7200 RPM HDD. The Acer does not come with a HDD but does come with a slot for a 2.5" HDD and you can order the upgrade kit form Acer's page, which would allow me to put in a 2.5 1TB WD Black HDD. Can you swap out the Lenovo's HDD for a faster one or are you screwed there? And is the Acer laptop equipped with a M2 SSD? I think it is at least. The way I'm seeing it is that the Acer VX 15 would be the better buy among the 2, right? Am I not seeing something that might make the Lenovo better? I understand that Costco warranty's are amazing so the Lenovo would have an advantage if bought there, but that's the least of it for me. The laptop is just gonna sit on a desk where I do all of my work and have it plugged in so it doesn't have to be light or have an amazing battery life. What do you guy's think? I want some outside opinions so I know I'm either making a decent choice or if I'm just seeing what I want to see. Thanks for any help.

Hi All, I'm looking for some recommendations for my first budget gaming rig. I have done some PCs in the past but not one a gaming pc. So this will be my first attempt to do a gaming pc :). Basically following is my part list. Please note that this part list is for Australian market https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/nNvpJV I'll be mainly doing first person shooting games(CS GO, COD, Crysis etc) and car games (NFS, Dirt 3 etc) You will see that there are no Storage, Case and a monitor for this build. That is because I already got a ATX case, 120GB SSD(I know this is too low, this is only for the start ) and some TB worth of hard drives and a 27' Asus IPS display What is your take on this part list? Is there any other recommended part list you have for sub $600 range

hey there guy, Finally i saved up enough and think of upgrading everything I am looking to build a NAS box for storage and a gaming/workstation build. and confused between options which i figured out based on my budget. need opinion from you guys, please see the options below and let me know what will be the best choice Option 1: NAS with GA-N3050M-D3P (owned right now) 8gb ddr3 value ram Seagate NAS HDD 4TB x 2 basic casing and 500w psu (owned right now) PC Build with: i7 6700k + z170 board +120gb SSD + 1tb HDD +asus turbo 1060 pc parts picker link- http://pcpartpicker.com/list/2fN2r7 Option 2: Same nas as option 1 PC Build with: i5 6500 + h170 board +120gb SSD + 1tb HDD +asus strix 1080 pc parts picker link- http://pcpartpicker.com/list/mz2Br7 Option 3: Nas with- GA-B150M-HD3 intel pentium g4400 8GB DDR4 memory Seagate NAS HDD 4TB x 2 basic casing and 500w psu (owned right now) PC Build with: i5 6500 + h170 board +120gb SSD + 1tb HDD +asus turbo 1060 there is a 4th option which is ASUS N552VW-6700HQ with the nas of 3rd option. Pretty much confused about what should i do. i am not a hardcore gamer, i only play dota 2 and very few of my fev title games (witcher 3, mafia 3). i currently have 3tb of work data which needs to be stored somewhere new, so i am thinking of trying out a nas build for the first time. i work with photoshop, illustrator and aptana studio some times and most of my work is web based. looking for a stable build for next few years thanks in advance guys, will really appreciate your opinion.

I was on youtube and saw a video about this product http://www.gearbest.com/laptop-accessories/pp_229101.html I thought it was extremely interesting, but all the videos I have seen have only shown the after. They didn't do a good review of things like how much performance gains there were and they didn't test different gpus and things like that. I think this would be a fantastic product for LinusTechTips to review on a Holy$hit episode for cheap gaming or something if it actually works well. It would be interesting to see how it goes. Please give it a shot. Sorry if I am breaking any forum rules. Thanks

Hello, I'm a highschool student on a budget, and I have some cash to upgrade my 2.5 year old AMD build. CPU: AMD X4 860K @4.4Ghz CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 MoBo: MSI a78a-e35 GPU: MSI R9 270 OC Gaming RAM: 8gb DDR3 1600mhz (not OC-ed because of the instability it causes) I mainly game on this machine, and it can barely produce stable 60 FPS on games I mainly play (Overwatch and Rocket League). I was wondering whether it would be better to upgrade my GPU to RX 480 8gb or buy a deal that my local PC shop has which is about 120 dollars for i3 6100 and a b150m bazooka mobo for $139 USD and get new Windows and RAM which I think would end up in a similar price range. With a possibility of moving overseas, I'm not particularly looking for future proofing the setup. Its just that the machine has been struggling with frame drops and stuttering so I wanted to upgrade to minimize them. Thank you for reading this message/question/post.

How do I bring this build down from $535 to $500?
tahmid10 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
As someone who isn't knowledgeable on computers, I decided to get my build off of Bitwit's videos. He made a $500 budget "Console Killer" build a while back that I'm going to follow: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G Processor with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079D3DBNM/?coliid=I307BAVYKOJU3X&colid=14UD8Y1I60XR7&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it GPU: PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 570 4GB https://www.newegg.com/powercolor-radeon-rx-570-axrx-570-4gbd5-3dhd-oc/p/N82E16814131717?Item=N82E16814131717 Motherboard: ASRock MicroATX Motherboard (B450M-HDV) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FVKWLQK/?coliid=I2BGESMSL7Z9EA&colid=14UD8Y1I60XR7&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Ram: Team T-Force Night Hawk 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM 3200 (PC4 25600) https://www.newegg.com/team-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820331029?Item=N82E16820331029 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16822179010?Item=N82E16822179010 SSD: Kingston A400 2.5" 120 GB https://www.newegg.com/kingston-a400-120gb/p/N82E16820242399?Item=N82E16820242399 Case: https://www.newegg.com/p/1W8-006X-00005?Item=1W8-006X-00005 Power Supply: Corsiar CX Series 450W 80 Plus Bronze Certified https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTZ96RU/?coliid=I3GTU7EVFW70SH&colid=14UD8Y1I60XR7&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I'm not a serious gamer on pc, but I want to be able to play games like Apex, Destiny and other online MMORPGS at the best quality possible with this budget. The reason I don't want to go too far past $500 is because I still need to buy Windows 10 (Should I really be trusting the offers for $30 off third-party sites? The retail $140 is expensive as hell) keyboard/mouse, a monitor and at least 30 ft of ethernet cable that can withstand the outdoors if I don't want to get a decent Wifi card that can reach my room upstairs. Is there anything I can downgrade slightly to get closer to a $500 build from the current $535 while not having to sacrifice too much? *Edit: Thanks for all the responses guys, I really appreciate your input!- 20 replies

Hey guys I'm looking for a budget Gaming laptop around the 900 USD range. I'll buy it around the end of October or start of November so I'll be looking out for replies till then. Things I'm looking for (In preferential order): • 120hz screen • Decent GPU which can provide me high frames making use of the high refresh rate. • IPS panel or something with good viewing angles in general. • An 'Okay' Keyboard • Good Customer Service I've looked for laptops matching these online and found the Asus TUF Gaming lineup basically my only good option. (Though I'm open for any other suggestions from u guys) In particular the model I'm talking about is FX505DT for which the specs are in the image attached. The Link for the listing is (It is Amazon India): ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT 15.6" FHD 120Hz Laptop GTX 1650 4GB Graphics (Ryzen 5-3550H/8GB RAM/1TB HDD/Windows 10/Gold Steel/2.20 Kg), FX505DT-AL162T https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07RRQBPJN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zGNoDbXDR2QPY It would be really appreciated if there's people who've already bought this model or any of the Asus TUF lineup laptops share their own experiences and likes and dislikes about them. [EDIT: The games I'll be playing would be - CSGO, DotA 2, Superhot, Warcraft and similar light games (I may transition to heavier games in future though) Tysm(^^)

Hi, I am a huge noob when it comes to pcs I have been an Xbox gamer my whole life but now want to make the jump to pc so if I mess stuff up chill I know you’re better than me xD. I have a budget of around £650 or $850 budget. I want to build a pc with the best specs possible for this price whilst having decent aesthetics though rgb lights etc. I initially though of a gtx 1070 but there are so many different types and then I don’t know what cpu to couple it with in order to prevent bottle necking. I was thinking maybe a ryzen 5 2600? However, these two parts take up most of my budget. I know I need a mid-tower case with 16gb ram and some case fans that’s a given but I really have no idea which parts would give me best specs for the money I want to spend. Also I don’t have any clue which motherboard I would need as I know many come with lots of features I wouldn’t utilise. I suppose this is a really convoluted way of asking if anyone has a good list of pc parts I could use to build my first pc with a budget of around $850 Many thanks

Hey, so I'm trying to help a friend find a good enough gaming laptop - it doesn't need to run the latest games, as long as it's 64-bit it'll be an upgrade to his old laptop. About the only requirement is that it has to run FFXIV at minimal settings. Friend doesn't have a large budget, hence the 500 or under stipulation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. FFXIV'S minimum system requirements can be found here: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/ Please keep in mind the game is getting an expansion in a couple months and the minimum requirements are subject to change, especially since the devs have indicated they are going to abandon 32-bit versions of the game, which indicates a probable increase in RAM for both the DirectX 9 and 11 versions.

Ok so I have a Ryzen 1600 OC to 3,7 GHz 2666 mHz Corsair RGB pro ram OC to 3000 Fatal1ty MIni ITX AB350 mobo from AsRock and a zotac mini GTX 1070 as it so happens a friend wanted one so i though ok he could have it at a discount while i make a new one buttt, being where i live, things are a lot more expensive so i decided to use the 2400g to hold out to like 2020 and just see from there I mean for gaming its faster slightly than a 1600 the vega 11 can work with esports titles i don't have as much time for gaming anymore anyway so... am I just super cheap or does it make sense? I mean alternatively I'm thinking 2600 and a RX 570 8g (I think the 1070 was disappointing for the price and I can live with lower graphics) but then so much more money, and rx 580s don't have a lot of lifespan left. so I'm thinking the 2400g makes the most sense, or am I just a cheap ass SOB? thnx

Hey everyone, I am new here. Seems like an awesome community. I am planning to buy a laptop, with a budget of 55k INR. I am a 2nd year university student in India. Initially, I was focusing on thin and light laptops only, as I just wanted to play some games like FIFA19, NFS, CS:GO, etc. I had decided on the Acer Swift 3, with a dedicated MX250 (10W version), which is indeed a great laptop. A friend of mine bought it (he got it at 43k then). However, I guess it isn't made for even such games, since even small 100MB games were making the laptop too hot (above 90°C). I know I could use an external cooling pad but still I didn't want to put extra load on that lightweight beauty. So, I decided to buy a comparatively lightweight (<=2.3 kg) gaming laptop, under the same budget. After extensive research, I narrowed down to: • Asus TUF Gaming FX505DT R5-3500H, GTX1650, 120Hz Display >Getting it at 56.5k INR () • Lenovo Legion Y530 i5 8th gen, GTX1050, 60Hz Display >Getting it at 52k at Lenovo's website after Student Discount • Asus Vivobook Gaming X571GD i5 8th gen, GTX1050, 60Hz Display >Priced around 51k but it's out of stock I have extended my budget to 56.5 to accomodate the TUF. Since the 3rd option has been unavailable recently (it's getting quite popular due to its looks, weight and sells out fast) and its battery life is quite weak, it was between the TUF and the Legion. GTX1050 is enough for me. Since I'll get the Y530 cheaper, it's a good option. However, according to my research, it's battery life (max. 4 hours) is worse than that of the TUF (max. 4:45 hours). I don't have a minimum battery life requirement as such, but more battery life would be helpful (I might carry the laptop too). Also, the display on the Y530 is dim (max. 250 nits). On battery saver mode, the display turns quite dim. Other than these two factors, the Legion is great. The TUF FX505DT doesn't scream gaming either (which is good). It has good build quality too, brings a better GPU, its cooling is fine too (though the Legion is better), it has a brighter and a 120 Hz display (not my requirement, just an add-on) and also, a slightly better battery life (though the battery capacity is lesser - probably it's due to the Ryzen). I know its track pad isn't good and keyboard isn't as good as the Legion, but I guess a brighter display and a longer battery would be more important, since I would be using Linux (dual boot), which would reduce battery backup further. Basically, other than the low display brightness and the lower battery life, the Legion suits my needs. However, I thought these two factors would be important and I'm leaning more towards the TUF. Which one would you recommend? Will the Legion's display brightness and battery do? Any major drawbacks in the TUF? Any drawbacks due to the Ryzen in it? I'll need to use Android Studio too. I'll use it on Linux, until the virtualization support on Windows is improved. Thanks a lot for reading through such a long question. Much appreciated.
