Budget (including currency): $250 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: unknown. Light gaming. Other details I built my own gaming rig at a medium level for about $1200 a couple months ago. I also bought my son a prebuilt gaming rig for $1500 two Christmas ago. I decided to build my brother a gaming pc since he has never had one so I started visiting thrift stores and FB market. I found a used 1650 super for $80 on fb market along with a 500 low psu for $30. Then I found an aspire TC-780. It only has an i3 7th gen but the price was right at a whopping $50. Seems the owner had gotten a virus. I pulled the HD at the meetup and handed it back to them. The biggest issue with the Build is the proprietary MB and finding which cpus I can slot into it. I can find a list of cpus it came with which ends at an i7 7700 but the list for the socket type of 1151 shows a lot more options. Does any have experience with this MB? Am I stuck with the 7700 as my best option?

Hi guys, A friend asked me if I could put a gaming pc together for him. He'll use it mostly for Total War: Warhammer 2. I'm not really familiar with that game and the requirements and have only built one pc yet, so I'm happy for your help. It should be a budget gaming pc at around 600-650 € (without peripherals). He has one monitor, but is not quite sure about the resolution. I would guess arround 1080 x 1920; at most maybe 1440 x 2560. I've put together a components list here: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/PartyPaul/saved/#view=NrRMvK I'm not sure, if the build is balanced ok, or if it would even hold up to the games requirements (should maybe also a bit future proof). I also hope that I have not created any bottlenecks. I'm happy for any comments and recommendations. Thanks (also I'm german, so please excuse any grammatical or verbal mistakes)

Hi, I am currently trying to put together a £500 budget gaming PC (will to go up to £600) and would like some help. I need to keep the build quite compact so a Mid tower is the max size I can go with smaller towers being ideal. Current: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rdQKkT It is based from another build I found with some modifications, I would like to know how to best improve this build to raise it between £500-600 whilst adding the most power and longevity. Much appreciated.

After a couple of days of looking around I have narrowed down my searches towards a video editing/ gaming PC and it comes down to the Acer Aspire VX 15 VX5-591G-75RM or the Lenovo LEGION Y520. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N12YZ7B?ref=emc_b_5_t https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Y520-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XWFCKYX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493670641&sr=8-1&keywords=Y520#HLCXComparisonWidget_feature_div However the Lenovo comes down to $999 USD when you buy from Costco https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-LEGION-Y520-Gaming-Laptop---Intel-Core-i7---4GB-NVIDIA-Graphics---1080p.product.100347159.html So basically it is coming down to which is the better buy right? What do you guys think? The way I'm seeing it is they are practically the same computer in slightly different skins, at least that's how I see it. The comes with the same GPU and CPU and RAM at least its 16GB I don't know about MHz. The storage is another story, where both run with 256GB SSD, Lenovo adds on 2TB of HDD, but its 5400RPM which is a big downside for me because I would have liked a 7200 RPM HDD. The Acer does not come with a HDD but does come with a slot for a 2.5" HDD and you can order the upgrade kit form Acer's page, which would allow me to put in a 2.5 1TB WD Black HDD. Can you swap out the Lenovo's HDD for a faster one or are you screwed there? And is the Acer laptop equipped with a M2 SSD? I think it is at least. The way I'm seeing it is that the Acer VX 15 would be the better buy among the 2, right? Am I not seeing something that might make the Lenovo better? I understand that Costco warranty's are amazing so the Lenovo would have an advantage if bought there, but that's the least of it for me. The laptop is just gonna sit on a desk where I do all of my work and have it plugged in so it doesn't have to be light or have an amazing battery life. What do you guy's think? I want some outside opinions so I know I'm either making a decent choice or if I'm just seeing what I want to see. Thanks for any help.

Good day. I've been wondering recently about which CPU I should buy, I recently became interested on the Pentium g4440 because it's over clocking capacity, but my question is which one should I buy, compared with a 3 months used i5 6500 with a cost of 142 U$D; it pretty much would cost the same at the end due I would add a water cooling system to the Pentium processor. and also I would like to add, as a motherboard I would be using a gtx 1060. Thank you.

Hello, I'm new to the whole "build your own pc thing" but i want to get into things straight away! I'm a law student who is thinking about building a budget pc intended to be used as a work computer and an entertainment pc. By "work" I mean rather light tasks like text editing, writing a thesis on it and online research in databases. With entertainment I mean watching movies, listening to music and playing some games. I don't need it to run the latest AAA titles at Ultra in 4K or anything. I have a 1080p (not that good but okay) display but not really anything else. The games i'm interested in vary a lot. I like to play older titles like AOE2, but would also want to play GTAV and other more recent titles. I don't need it to run at great graphics (see the display) but i want it to run smooth. The main thing is that the build must be upgradable. I want to set up a gaming pc that i can upgrade as i can spare the money along the way and keep it for a long time. I'm also completely NOT interested in aesthetics. It will most likely be tucked away under my desk somewhere. I'm also not really interested in sound. I would be playing with headphones anyways. My budget is about 500 - 700 ish euro but it can stretch as I could simply wait a bit for when I have a bit more money to spare. I also don't have a problem with used components or something. (peripherals don't have to be included in the budget). ps: I'm coming from a 13 inch MBP (early 2015 3,1 GHz I7 with 16 GB of RAM) so anything with a discrete graphics card would ba a major upgrade. I still use that laptop to take around campus to take notes and do my schoolwork.

I was hoping someone could help me. I'm running a dell optiplex 9020 (i5- 4570 @ 3.20GHz Service tag # (24wrr12-1F66) mother board (0pc5f7) I recently bought a PYN GTX 750 ( $ 50) but when I install the card I get no display. (hooked up through the Mini HDMI) Can anyone help me? I chose the 750 because it doesn't require power from the PSU. I was told that I may not be able to put this or other graphics cards in this cpu because it is running the Legacy BIOS, but have also read that many people didn't have this problem. My BIOS is up to date. I was hoping this would be an easy plug an play solution because I wouldn't have to buy a new PSU. 2) Would anyone recommend the RX570 or 580 for this PC? Its always on sale. If so would I need to get a new PSU. Mine is the original 390 Watt that came with this dell. I would hate to buy a new graphics card and it not be compatible with my old computer

I handed down my old gaming pc to my younger brother about two years ago. The 2nd gen i5 cpu and mobo eventually failed and he has been stuck with no pc for a while. We still have an old MSI r9 380 4gb and some gskill ripsawX 1600mhz ram (2x4gb) plus a cx500 PSU and HDD that I am unaware of its working condition. If put in a decent budget pc would suffice for his fortnite and minecraft adventures. I have been trying to figure out what is the best way to use these parts to get a budget decent gaming pc by maybe throwing it into a old Vostro 260 with a 2nd gen i3 or finding a myriad of used parts on ebay to build him a Frankenstein machine. Something for under $200 would be ideal because anymore and I would probably be better off just getting him a budget APU build. Either way I have been getting caught going down the rabbit whole of trying to figure out what kind of things I might need to upgrade on something like an old Vostro 260 like the PSU? (if it is even able to be upgraded) If anyone has any ideas, recommendations, or experience doing something like this I would love to hear some input.

Guys I'm looking to get a cpu for primarily 1080p gaming and a little bit of hobby 3d modeling on Blender but mostly gaming. These 2 cpus are in my budget and cost exactly the same. I'm gonna pair them with a gtx 1060 6gb or a rx 580 8gb. The 3500 has 6 core 6 threads at 3.6ghz base and 4.1ghz turbo while the 2600 has 3.4ghz base and 3.9ghz turbo. I'm not looking to overclock them. Which one should i buy? Please try to give reasoning too. Thank you.

Please check & let me know which one will be value for money. I you have any other alternate option for better value for money, then please let me know. I just want to build the PC which will be usable for at least next 2-3 years. Thank in advance.

Hey guys, I'm beginner in PC Build trying to have my own budget gaming rig and so far I've only got Ryzen 5 1600 in my hand. I'm looking for other parts that very suitable with my CPU at least it could handle most of the games these days (GTA 5, Battlefield 1, etc.) on ultra settings without lags or bottleneck also if possible this gaming rig can last for a couple of years. What's your advice? Let me know, thank you! *sorry for my bad english*

Hello, I have listed everything I want for my budget gaming pc. The budget is 800$. Is there anything I can get cheaper or anything that is better or he same for a lower or same price. Also is everything compatible? Am I missing anything? Is there unnecessary components? My rig is mainly built for fortnite. I’m trying to run 60fps+ 1080p high settings. I am new to the linus tech tips. Great youtube. I am really impressed. Btw, I am in need for building a budget gaming PC around 600-700 US dollars. I've noticed Linus tech youtube channel has "build the perfect gaming PC - holiday buyer's guide 2015" but does not have one for this year yet. What would be it like for this years best gaming PC under my budget with future upgrades in mind (such as GPU)? Goal of this new PC is to use it as long as possible with some inevitible upgrades along the way. Any advices appreciated. Thank you. Addendum: I do have windows 10 home. And I do have a monitor and a TV that I used as dual monitor. I can also reuse my keyboard, mouse and speakers. But other than that, I have to buy it.

Sup my dudes. I have recently made a $500 gaming PC build plan for my friend. I wanted to know if these parts for this PC are good enough. I will list them below. Also, if you think that I am "doing it all wrong" or something, don't be a prick about it ok? This is a forum page for gods sake, keep it together. But seriously, just tell me which part you think needs to be changed, and thats it. No need to be insensitive. So anyway yea, if you think something needs to be changed or have any other comments, tell me. I want to know if you think anything can be changed for the better. Thanks.
