After the Anker video came out, it got me wondering what everyone has or wishes to have as a shelter in place tech kit for themselves or a group. What items are a must have? What would be nice to have but not really needed? Would you keep one in an office and one at home or make it an EDC in your car? What would you change for an urban vs on the road(glamping) tech kit? how do you plan to power everything? is it indefinite power like solar or run everything on a vehicle's outlets? -
Hey all. My brother's looking for a power bank for his phone etc., and I offered to get him one. He wants something with 20,000mAh+ which has USB C. The first one he pointed me to was this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0895P2M5M/ Trouble is, it's one of those generic products made by a reseller and then listed on Amazon under a dozen different "manufacturers", and looking for the model name -- HX160S4 -- reveals quite a few poor reviews, with things like it dying after only a few months, things like that. I found an alternative from a good brand (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RPNHZDC/), however I'm still not settled on what to get. The solar charging part is not necessary, only a bonus -- like I said, the requirements are a high capacity and USB C, hence I also considered something from Anker: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S829LBX/ (though my brother has had a poor experience with Anker previously). Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi I have had a gigabyte p34gv2 for about a year when the battery failed. I looked into getting a replacement but found people saying it wouldn't be recognised and wouldn't work. I was wondering if I could get a AC battery bank and use that to charge it. It is an 11.1 volt laptop and has a 4300mah battery ( 47.73 watthours ). Would this work and if it does do you know of any that are relatively cheap. Thanks

I have a Mophie Charge + Storage Case for IPhone 5s but the battery inside ( power bank kinda ) is completely died. I was wondering if it is possible to change the old battery in the case with the new one? Is it safe? im worried if it blast? lol

i just bought a sager np8157 laptop, and the power brick that comes with it is a 230W power brick. and i was looking for some tips to help me solve my issue. at the end of september ill be traveling, and since i plan on playing games, i know the battery wont last long. im flying across the country and the plane wont have any power outlet. i was looking for a battery bank or some sort of solution for my problem. i am open to the option of getting a lower wattage power supply and buying a battery bank that only outputs around 100w.

Hi guys, I got some kind of funny problem. First of all, you need to know that both my battery bank and my phone have a USB-Type-C in- and output. When my phone almost died, I connected them using a Type-C cable. The problem: my phone was used to charge the battery and died. How to fix this?

I know that its been said before in an episode that LTT doesn't review power banks, because realistically a battery is a battery one way or another, and I certainly agree! From one to another battery banks are largely the same sorta thing with a little change in how much juice they actually have and how much they cost. However I also know that LTT loves to go overboard! I thought to myself just on a whim after I had visited the power tools section of my friendly neighbourhood hardware store picking up a cordless jigsaw and the enormous battery it comes with that 'this battery is bigger than the one in my old gaming laptop'. I'm sure wherever you are in the world you've seen these newfangled 'universal cordless tool systems' of which dozens of different tools in a range are designed to fit the same battery shape. The range which I bought from is the Ryobi One+ system http://www.ryobi.com.au/power-tools/products/list/family/one-plus which is an Australian exclusive brand but DeWALT RX18V series is basically the same thing. Batteries in the 18V One+ range begin at a meagre 1.3Ah and scale all the way up to a massive 5.0Ah capacity! Like many similar cordless power tool systems they also have a large number of modules that have more 'utility' purposes like radios, torches, pumps. shop lights and fans. What really prompted me to think about this is a USB charge adapter module for the One+ system which allows you to charge USB devices from the enormous power tool battery pack, effectively turning those huge power tool batteries into power banks for your phone or tablet! http://www.ryobi.com.au/products/details/18v-one-usb-power-adapter I try to make my idea a little more interesting with a bit of story time because there isn't really any underlying point to my thoughts here. I'm not even sure anyone here would care about the prospect of giant power banks but everyone I've spoken to about it thinks its an epic idea! Who would need such a massive power bank? The idea in my head just seemed 'LTT silly'. Has this idea crossed someone elces mind? Maybe someone out there actually might need a huge power bank. The website says 6 full phone charges with a 5Ah cell. I'm not even sure that's true, that seems like a whole lot of zap! You could power plenty of stuff with just a couple of these.

So I recently got a dell companion (PW7015L) 65 Watt I got a deal on Amazon I think It is like $55 so I thought like why not that XPS 12 already has Great battery so why not make it last forever. So I plugged it into the XPS And window says it’s not charging apparently it’s not compatible I just updated bios from A7 to A8 and no difference=( is there any alternatives that work maybe just like an AC outlets or something. Hey anybody know what Power bank linus used for that VR backpack Sorry for the terrible grammar it’s like 2 AM. I am going to return the power bank.

My school district has decided to lend select tech students laptops to use throughout the next school year, I was one of the chosen students. The problem is the district is not giving out any information about what laptop they will be lending the students, so I don't know if the battery capacity will be enough for my 3 hour programming course and notes for the remaining 4 hours. So I've decided to play it safe and pick up a battery bank with an AC outlet, problem is they're all $100+... I'm already spending a decent amount on a backpack to protect the laptop since students have to pay for any damages (even though it's probably gonna be a $200 POS that would be cheaper to replace than to repair). If there are any ~10k mAh AC output battery banks <$60 I would love to hear it.

It's such an handy device, and it demolishes these wifi external hard drives that are either bulky or the wifi does not meet up with the demand of the stream, but this device does. In this review I have used IOS, and Android devices. Worked flawlessly for IOS. Now if you are having video skipping/(Hic ups) this is not due to the device, since I did an test, and found out my hardware was just not powerful enough for one device, but the laptop played flawlessly that same file. Also you can charge your devices using the USB. It has an 6000 mAh batteryPros:1) Can stream large files ( 1080p FLAC), so this is better than most wifi external hard drives.2) Has a larger battery life than those hard drives. (Stream 12 hours. I used an 256 SD card, and did not charge anything on it.)3) The video player launches fast (Filehub plus)4) Stream movies from many devices. So if you are on an road trip your friends can connect to it (Must have file explorer hub)Cons:1) Player does not have subtitles. Which is an major disappointment, but you can use other 3rd party apps. Which are limited. For IOS, I am using OPlayer Lite, since the other players are an hit or miss for subtitles. OPlayer Lite streams very slowly, so long buffer times, but there are no issues once it plays.2) You cannot directly access the folder from file explorer to modify files. You have to use the app on computer or phone to add content or remove. During the upload it can fail sometimes (Due to the connection is lost)... I invested in an USB to SD card reader, so it eliminates the problem.3) The easy movies icon often does not show the stuff you have uploaded to the device. This is an simple fix. Have to use the explore option and open to the folder that has your movies. From there it will play.

Hey guys, As the title says, I'm looking for a good, high capacity battery bank. I currently have a 6000mAh one, I need one that other people can use simultaneously. Hey Guys, quick review of the RAVPower 26800mAh battery bank - UNLIMTED POWERRRRRRRRRRRRR This thing is a monster, its a little longer than an iPhone, and about as thick as a nintendo 3ds. It weighs about 600 grams so its not exactly pocket friendly but perfect to put into your bag With a capacity of 26800 you can charge a smartphone like the iPhone 6 about 10 times! I'm looking for a small solar charged battery bank to clip to my back when hiking or just walking around the city to charge my phone with. Most ones i find have a bunch of crap ware like flashlights or they can't be clipped to anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for battery banks? Not sure which thread to post this so please forgive me if there is a more appropriate place.

Hi, I'm doing a project and I want to know if you can buy or make a 9V battery charger that uses a USB port as the main power source (NOT a device that uses the 9V battery to power a usb device.). Specifically I want to be able to use a USB battery bank to be able to charge 9V batteries while on the go. I'm not sure which catagory this falls under, so I'm using general discussion, sorry. Any help with this would be apreciated. Jared B

So first of all I apologise if this is in an incorrect forum, I did have a quick flick through and this seemed the most appropriate. Essentially I have the original Galaxy Note and I love it, and I'm not planning on upgrading for a long while yet. But it needs to be charged up every day, and so if I come home drunk and forget to put it on charge or if I stay over when I hadn't intended then the next day I won't be able to use my phone all day, which becomes especially annoying when I have to commute into London for instance and don't have any music to listen to. I am not sure however, whether to buy a battery bank which has the advantage of not having me replace the battery or whether to buy a spare battery with some sort of battery charge pack. One reason I might choose the latter over the former is that the charge port on my phone is a bit temperamental, it still works but I have to bend the microusb head back slightly (I'm sure I could get it fixed at some point). Whichever way I go however, I want to buy a good quality product. I live in the UK so obviously it being available over here. Money isn't really an issue providing I am getting good value. So I guess that's it, if people could recommend some good quality products as well as maybe help me decide which direction to go in, that would be amazing.
