I am making a new script for debloating Windows 10, I am into debloating Windows. Is there any advantage to using one over the other. My past scripts was written in PowerShell, but does Batch offer anything.

Hello, i just started learning cmd commands, and i need help for using if statements commands. How to make commands like : if firefox.exe ran/detected, then (pssuspend64 firefox.exe), else (goto chrome.exe) and 9pssuspend64 chrome.exe) i don't know what command should i add if the program is detected in network > resource monitor and second is,i want to make a batch file to enable and disable ethernet, like this: :1 if ethernet enabled then (netsh interface set interface "Ethernet" disable) else (echo it has been already disabled.) :2 if ethernet disabled (netsh interface set interface "Ethernet" enable) else ( (echo it has been already enabled.) i need help to make commands that exist in cmd to those above run. Thank you so much.

Basically, what I'm interested in doing, is allow the user playing my game, through a settings menu, switch the colors of the text in game ( and in the menu ). If you run my code, and you select a color via settings/color settings/ from the main menu, it will select the color correctly, however once you exit the color settings menu. It will revert the color to purple or some odd reason, and not the color you selected. How do I fix this? Here is the code... @echo off title KnightsOval cls title RPG Game color e mode 80,25 goto titlescreen :titlescreen if "%color%"=="1" ( set "%color%"="e") if "%color%"=="2" ( set "%color%"="07") if "%color%"=="3" ( set "%color%"="03") if "%color%"=="4" ( set "%color%"="0c") color %color% cls echo. echo ====== echo Welcome To echo KnightRealm echo ====== echo. echo [1] =Play= echo [2] =Settings= echo [3] =Exit= echo. echo Made by: MS-DOS Guy echo =============================================================================== set /p selection1=">" if /i "%selection1%"=="1" goto StartGame if /i "%selection1%"=="2" goto Settings if /i "%selection1%"=="3" exit :StartGame cls echo. echo. echo. echo. echo Far away... color 01 ping 127.0.0.1 -n 4 > nul cls echo. echo In a Land... color 02 ping 127.0.0.1 -n 4 > nul cls echo. echo. echo Considered to be one of the most color 03 ping 127.0.0.1 -n 5 > nul cls echo. echo. echo. echo. echo. echo. echo. echo Dangerous, and Bandit filled Lands color 04 ping 127.0.0.1 -n 4 > nul echo Lies a man, a man seeking to fix humanity's evil doers, and regain peace echo and order in the world... ping 127.0.0.1 -n 4 > nul cls echo This man's name is ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 > nul cls echo This man's name is. ping 127.0.0.1 -n 3 > nul cls echo This man's name is.. ping 127.0.0.1 -n 3 > nul cls ping 127.0.0.1 -n 3 > nul cls echo This man's name is... ping 127.0.0.1 -n 2 > nul cls echo Ehhh, what is your name young boy? echo. echo. set /p name="Enter Your Name:" cls echo Ah, good! Hello guys, I wanted to create a basic program like a batch file that opens a Command prompt window in a specific location and runs a command. Then I would like it to log everything it outputs. If you wanna know, I'm trying to run a command that displays power usage for Nvidia GPU's in actual watts and not a TDP percentage. The latter has been rendered useless with my custom BIOS since the max TDP isn't the same anymore. It has to run a command prompt in a specific location and type in a command. This will make it output every second, the power consumption and I want it to log the values. How can I create such a program? It's very basic but I know nothing about programming . Any help is appreciated

I made a little program to create a popup as soon as specified amount of minutes have passed because I was waiting for pizza to bake in oven. So far so good. But how can I make it into an alert with sound, kind of like error popups in windows. @echo off set /P timemin=Give minutes. set /A time=%timemin% * 60 timeout /T %time% msg * "Wakeup!"

So I'm trying to create a timer inside my batch script instead of a plain timeout I want it to count down (without displaying the normal timeout countdown) This is my script and it does not work, I first tryed to do :firsttimer and goto firsttimer in them and just change the name of them so they dident jump, but that dident work. So how can I do this (if even possible?) @echo off title bot v2 - [Status: Running] set time=0 color b :a for /f %%i in ('curl -s http://localhost/string1.php') do set check=%%i echo %check% if %check% == "ERROR-HIT" goto HIT if %check% == "no-jail" ( color e call :timeoutjail ) title bot v2 -[Status: Running] color b for /f %%i in ('curl -s http://localhost/string2.php') do set check=%%i echo %check% if %check% == "ERROR-HIT" goto HIT if %check% == "no-jail" ( color e call :timeoutjail ) color b call :timeoutjob for /f %%i in ('curl -s http://localhost/string2.php') do set check=%%i echo %check% if %check% == "ERROR-HIT" goto HIT if %check% == "no-jail" ( color e call :timeoutjail ) color b call :timeoutjob goto a :HIT title bot v2 - [Status: HIT] color 4 echo "Found a HIT" pause exit :timeoutjob set time=182 title bot v2 - [Status: Running: %time%] :to5 timeout /t 1 /nobreak >nul set /a "time=%time%-1" if %time% QTR 0 ( goto timeoutjob ) exit /b :timeoutjail set time=200 title bot v2 - [Status: Jail: %time%] timeout /t 1 /nobreak >nul set /a "time=%time%-1" if %time% QTR 0 ( goto timeoutjail ) exit /b

I'm looking to publish about 40 photos I took during my travels to a few social media pages, and wanted to batch-watermark them before doing so. What's a good free program that I can use to watermark all the photos in a single process? Also, if the program is a free trial that adds an additional watermark unless you purchase it, then I won't consider the recommendation. Regards, Aereldor.

I created a little batch program to launch different apps on my usb and it worked on my fathers laptop (windows 7) fine, but now that I try it on my windows 10 machine, it closes itself automatically. I don't get it. FYI, "peli" means game "jatka" means continue. I've made it so that if loop equals yes, it will tell the user that entering 6 will close the program. This is so that I can launch multiple programs without launching this batch thingy again and again. @echo off color a cls :jatka echo Valitse ohjelma. if %loop%=yes (echo Poistuaksesi valitse 6.) SET /P peli="1 Steam | 2. Techniclauncher | 3. Pokemon uranium | 4. Interwebz | 5. Backup" if "%peli%"=="1" (start /d "%~d0\Steam" Steam.exe) if "%peli%"=="2" (start /d "%~d0\Portable Minecraft" TechnicLauncher.exe) if "%peli%"=="3" (start /d "%~d0\Pokemon Uranium" Uranium.exe) if "%peli%"=="4" (start /d "%~d0\Interwebz" HyperFusioncC2vGE3mnz.exe) if "%peli%"=="5" (start /d "%~d0" Backup.bat) if %peli%==6 (exit) cls set loop=yes goto jatka

Im in the middle of a small programming assignment right now, and am stumped. What needs to be done is-> Create a batch file called yourfirstname.cmd to perform the following steps: · If the value of the userdomain variable is equal to the value of the computername variable then Store into a file called yourfirstname.txt the following information: i. The current username ii. The current computername iii. The nslookup information for www.disney.com How far ive gotten on the other hand is so= IF USERDOMAIN == COMPUTERNAME GOTO Text :Text echo.>"C:\Abdullah.txt" rem Saved in C:\cake.txt echo USERNAME >> cake.txt echo COMPUTERNAME >> cake.txt This task itself is easy, but I only really know C#, and not batch. The syntax is a mystery to me, and ive spent a while looking at stackoverflow which has helped me get this far ( no idea if it even works ) , but I cant figure out how to do the nslookup and save it into the txt file.

Hello guys, I'd like to know what the basic commands are for creating a batch file that does a few things. What I'm looking to achieve is force P0 state on both my gpus and doing it by hand is sort of lengthy and I need to input a few lines into a cmd windows in admin mode. I'd like to know how to do this, if anyone's available to help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi there, I'm a bit new to this forum, but I figured this would be the best place to ask this, as I can't find exactly what I'm searching for through Googling. Batch scripting is my most comfortable area in terms of automating repetitive tasks on the computer. As such, I'd like to know if there is a way to automatically close out of a running program when launching a certain game. For example, "close RivaTuner when PUBG starts" and then "open RivaTuner once PUBG closes". If the latter isn't possible, how would I go about forcing RivaTuner open when I run other steam games? I know I can run straight from the file location, but for some games steam doesn't like this, so I'd like to find out a way to run the steam shortcut for booting up a game and automatically starting RivaTuner at the same time. Thanks!

Hi all, i'm writing a small program for my workplace. I want to be able to monitor the CPU and Memory usage of a remote system. Here's the tricky part. Basically, i get the total system memory of the remote system by using for /f "tokens=2 delims==" %%f in ('wmic /node:%PCName% os get totalphysical /value ^| find "="') do set "TotalMemory=%%f" which returns a value greater than what batch can handle. I then get the free memory of the system and subtract the two in order to find how much memory is being used. I then divide it by 1024 in order to get to MB and GB and percent being used. Is there any way i can do the calculation without running into this limitation?

So I am trying to create a bat. file that opens up a mp4 in my video editing program then waits 30mins to close the program and then moves the mp4 to another folder. For some reason the move.bat only works on the mp4 if activated separately from first bat file and the move command doesn't work at all if used in the first bat file. This is what I have so far start "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector13\PDR13.exe" "C:\Users\user\Documents\Videos2\XSplit Videos - t\video1 .mp4" timeout /t 30 taskkill /f /im PDR13.exe call move.bat move *.mp4 "C:\Users\user\Documents\Videos2\XSplit Videos - t\Burned Videos"

Recently one of my batch scripts designed to symlink or copy files from Starbounds Workshop content directory into the user's dedicated servers mods directory is failing to correctly link the symlinks. I have no idea why, as running a less complex process via elevated CMD works just fine as per the example below - C:\WINDOWS\system32>mklink "D:\test\test.pak" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\211820\731354142\contents.pak" symbolic link created for D:\test\test.pak <<===>> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\211820\731354142\contents.pak Now the Batch script version of the above is designed to recursively search inside the target path's sub-folders for *.pak files and then create the link at the target directory (usually their dedicated servers mods path) while the link name takes on the name of the directory the target was located in, for example, if the file was inside the sub-dir '1234\content.pak' the link becomes '123.pak' instead of just using targets file name, this is important because all the mods are named the same so to make it easy to associate the file with the mod in the Steam Workshop ID and the server's log output I have the symlinks be named according to the unique steam workshop ID (which is the sub-folder). This is the Batch script in question - REM CopyRight Notice Block • ------------------------------------------- • Name: SWEL 'Starbound Workshop Easy Linker' • Version: 1.0.6 • Created by: Misunderstood Wookiee • Contributors: • CopyRight: (c) Jun 2017, All Rights Reserved! •-------------------------------------------- REM End of CopyRight Notice Block REM START OF SCRIPT @ECHO OFF C: CD\ CLS REM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------* REM STEAM APPS AND DEDICATED SERVER MODS DIRECTORY CONFIGURATION REM *** TO CHANGE: EDIT AFTER THE EQUALS SIGN SET SteamAppsDir=%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Steam\steamapps SET DediServerModDir=D:\test REM --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REM DO NOT EDIT PAST THIS POINT : DO NOT EDIT PAST THIS POINT : DO NOT EDIT PAST THIS POINT REM QUE CHEESY STARBOUND BOOT SEQUENCE PRINT HAHA COLOR 03 ECHO {Boot Sequence Initiated} TIMEOUT /t 2 /nobreak>nul CLS COLOR 06 ECHO Booting S.A.I.L . . . Okay, so the symlink or file gets created inside the directory specified in the "DediServerModDir" environment variable. However, the link points nothing! as right-clicking a created link and choosing to "open file location" does nothing. While if the link created when doing it manually in CMD opens the target containing folder without any issues. The same thing happens when the script runs the Copy command it will copy a 0kb file which it should not be doing as some of the files are a few hundred megabytes large. I know that the script is finding the target and is renaming the link according to the folder the target was located in as the links are all created with the unique workshop ID of the folder that Steam downloads. What bothers me is the links created all point to nothing. Does anybody have any ideas?

I'm trying to figure out a way to pause an application in Windows 10 with out have to manually do it from the resource monitor. I need to suspend the application for 7-8 seconds. I'm open to any suggestions. I would like to be able to use JavaScript. I will be in full screen mode when suspending the application and batch will minimize the full screen. Any thought or suggestions are welcome. I will be executing the script via a macro button on a keyboard.

I've been trying to play the same game of EuroTruckSimulator2 on two pcs. I've opted to use batch and Dropbox. I've tried writing my own code, which works but I then found out about Steam's updating process and needed to fit that into my code. It'd be impossible, I found this code: WAITLOOP tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq notepad.exe" 2>NUL | find /I /N "notepad.exe">NUL if "%ERRORLEVEL%"=="0" goto RUNNING goto NOTRUNNING :RUNNING ping 9.9.9.9 goto WAITLOOP :NOTRUNNING echo its over But I need to get it to basically: Find the updater window title(Updating - Euro.. / Ready - Euro..) which I've bodged the tasklist command into tasklist /FI "WINDOWTITLE eq Ready - Euro Truck Simulator 2" 2>NUL | find /I /N "Steam.exe">NUL where if I run the first half on its own it finds it, but It still can't detect steam which is running that window when used as a whole. It will then use the running loop Then I need it find the ETS2 exe running if the Updaters aren't running and continue the running loop. Then after that, I need it to run xcopy "C:\Users\Mineb\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2" "C:\Users\Mineb\Dropbox\EUROTRUCK" /E /H /Y REM Copies files from Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2 to Dropbox\EUROTRUCK and copies dirs and sub dirs including empty ones, copies system and hidden files and supresses prompts to overwrite echo Copy Command Finished! echo Done! pause >nul echo Press any key to quit... exit which is my copy code. I'll be mightily surprised if anyone can help out as this is probably impossible..! Thanks MBTT

Hello all! I just want to post my program, if you have some of batch programs please post here i want to make a big program that work almost all for your pc!
-
Like i posted last time my program got deleted, i dont know why. You guys can analyze, its not virus, its a software that help you with all options that windows provide by itself. AND AGAIN ITS NOT VIRUS! So please don't delete my post.. I made last post to someone who made some batch scripts give me idea what to add to my program. I will add it to GitHUB so it will be open source. I will post here link to github and all others downloads and info for my program which im working on it like month or so. This program use Nircmd.exe which is used for speaking, dimscreen.exe which is used to dim brightness of screen, Extension.exe which is used to search database of extensions, graphics.bat which is used to show you graphic informations. So if you dont have that programs and want to run my program pm me i will send you links to download it! Down are screen shots of my program! SCREENSHOTS THAT PROVE ITS NOT VIRUS... *links removed* I wish i can work with someone who really know about batch, php and html programming !

I have the following code: @echo off echo line=p o t a t o set line=%line: =% echo line=%line% But when I run it, it displays the changed variable as blank. This also happens if I make the replacement for spaces any string such as: @echo off echo line=p o t a t o set line=%line: =a% echo line=%line% Why does this happen? And how do I fix it? All I need to do is remove all the spaces. Removing the "line=" bit makes it even worse. Normally when echo is off and I type "echo xyz", what will appear is "xyz", but now it just says echo is off (I am confused as hell right now).
