Hey all, Been a long time coming but finally decided to join the forums after watching LTT for a while. Which begs the Question.... Any other Aussies on here? If so what do you play? Always keen for games with fellow Aussies. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm Interested in acquiring a Chromebook, however, I currently feel like a have two problems. Available programs and RAM. On my current laptop an ASUS vivobook s551b, for that I use for everything, is, of course, a widows machine. The problem I feel is that I wouldn't be able to use the Cold turkey website blocker as well as the thunderbird email client. And as chrome is usually RAM intensive would 4GB actually properly handle the chrome tabs. The Chromebook I'm interested in, (Perth, WA Australia) Acer 15.6" FHD Pentium Chromebook CB515-1H-P6E4 https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/acer-15-6-fhd-pentium-chromebook-cb515-1h-p6e4-acb5151hcb

I have had a lot of hardware fail on me though the past decade. The RMA process for every manufacturer is different (even though it's almost now the same (terrible) experience with every brand). Some brands (like Intel) just swap the hardware immediately and then keep the RMA'ed hardware for analysis and possible repair. Other companies (like MSI, ASUS, etc.) take the hardware ind and try to repair it. What I don't understand is why its profitable for a manufacturer to spend time on repairing the hardware they receive. Let's look at the most recent example with a X370 MSI motherboard I had to RMA due to a failure in RAM socket DIMMA1: - My local dealer pays for shipping to them, then they have to handle the package, and propably pay for shipment to the manufacturer (I don't know if they have any deals with the manufacturers that makes the manufacturer pay for this). - The manufacturer then has to spend time analyzing the motherboard, fix what has to be fixed, and then pay for shipping to my local dealer - My Local dealer then has to handle and pay for shipment for sending the product back to me. This is a lot of shipments, and just repairing the board I guess will take longer than is profitable for MSI compared to just shipping a new board from stock?

I've owned a Intuos Pro for about 3 years and I'm looking at upgrading to a Cintiq 27QHD in the near future. \ Where is the best place to buy them within Australia? Basically I'm to avoid the crazy shipping and currency conversion rates of Amazon and the like. As well as the risks of shipping panels overseas. *Also if you have any experience with the touch / non-touch variant I'd like to hear you opinion on that feature.* Thanks a lot.

Hi, I just built a new system and my @ and " keys are switched? Everything else is fine that I've noticed. I think it might be because I'm using the UK keyboard setting in windows. I'm in AUS and I'm not sure what to set it to. Thank

Hi all I recently sold my 32" Kogan T.V and now I'm looking for a new T.V. I was happy with the Kogan but i sold it becuase i was going to get their "40 T.V to upgrade. But a thought has come over my mind that for the price of the 40" T.V ($399 AUS) could I get a "good" T.V for the same price but "32 because i wouldn't mind bumping down the size for a better picture quality. Im not a Video expert (to me the Kogan was usable and awesome for the price) but I do notice that bigger companies T.Vs do look better (Obviously). Basically what I'm asking is that can you suggest any "good" t.vs that are around the $399 AUS (this price includes delivery)? Thanks for the help.

Hey Guys, Was wondering what the best place (website) is to buy pc components. I live in NZ so prefer a NZ website but if there is an Australian one with cheap (or free) shipping that is cool too. Amazon and those sites' shipping is so expensive for NZ :c American, Canadian, etc websites are not preferred but if there is one with REALLY good shipping prices then that might be ok. Thanks :3

So I figured I may as well post a topic about Mwave's Group Deals because some of you Aussies may be unaware of it. It's fairly just where prices on selected items are more often than not dropped dramatically, if not than there is still a nice amount of the price shaven off. Right now there are some pretty good deals, including: Razer Kraken Forged Edition Analogue Gaming Headphones for $200 ($100 off) Noontec Cubee 10,000mAh Portable Power Bank Black/White for $36 ($14 off) CM Storm MECH Aluminium Cherry MX Brown/Red for $150 (~$80 off) There are some more, interesting deals available, and remember that you can subscribe to Mwave to get an email every time a new set of/addition to the Group Deals are available. The Mwave Group Deals is actually how I got my current Z87X-OC motherboard for just $190 w/o shipping. I just thought to post this so that there might be a few people who can benefit from this. Cheers!

This isn't so much a deal, but I thought it was worth sharing. PC Case Gear has a heap of new sleeved cables, with some fun combinations. I like that there are more places offering sleeved cables. Obviously you could get them easily before, but this just makes it a bit more accessible. The combinations of 2 or 3 colours is something that I haven't seen before aside from custom order cables or ones that people have done themselves, so that's pretty cool. Some examples: Orange FTW. This game gets boring very quick when playing by myself, and whenever I meet someone I try to make friends, and they shoot me in the back of the head. I haven't got a mic, which doesn't help I guess. Anyone in AUS who wants to play this game? Currently downloading Arma 2 and the DayZ mod aswell, so can play that too. Fisha

we have just started a new server with my friends and myself and i’m looking to get a few more people to play on it. we are running on the server FTB direwold20 pack (latest version) Requirements: 16 and over able to talk on TeamSpeak play regularly have a decent ping to NZ (sorry european players) I will give preference to Aus and NZ players because the server is being hosted in NZ Rules: Absolutely no Griefing No exploits No asking for OP Have fun Slots: I would like to keep it to 10-15 people Ram: 3Gb Cores: 3 No banned items so far but that could change if someone abuses it(ex. Mining laser, TNT). Please no x-ray vision mods. I don't mind maps that show cave systems but would prefer nothing else. Server is still being worked on occasionally but nothing major The minecraft difficultly level is currently set at 1 but that can change if enough people would like it more difficult. It was only set there because it's the default and so far there are only about 2-4 people that play on it and most are never on all at once. Feel free to ask me any questions as I might have forgotten to mention something. Thanks, icey apply for whitelist by replying to this thread or PM me with: Age: Countrey: IGN:

Hey guys, I'm shopping around for a good gfx card that I intend to last for a while so I've decided I'll go for the R9 290 (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1575&vk_sort=1). Now before the everyone says it, I'm from Australia so we don't get affected by the mining craze and the R9 290 is still $100 below the 780. Now because I'm in Aus, I'm looking for something that's reliable and with pretty good warranty support. At first I was looking at the XFX reference model but a couple of searches showed up that they don't have a branch here and the lifetime warranty doesn't apply. I'll be looking to watercool the card with a G10 but I'm curious to everybody's experience with these manufacturers.

As a part of the bring-your-own-device initiative you can get free software including things like MS Office 2013, Win 7 Ult and Win 8 Pro upgrades as well as some Adobe software (Sadly no entire CS5/6 suite). It's only available to Australian students (High school students that is) and it's a bit tricky to get to. Steps: 1. Go to your student portal and log in. 2. When in your student portal look down the left side and find the box that says 'learning', then in that box click the link that says 'Adobe DEC Software Download' 3. Now you'll have to go and make an account with that site using your student info. 4. Once you have an account go and grab any software you want. 5. Check out and you'll get your keys, you can then get their download client (It is unnecessary, but you have to) and download your installers. 6. Enjoy your new software. Now I'm going to go install Win 8. Update: I'm not sure how widely avaliable this is. It seems to only be for public schools, and it MIGHT be only for NSW. I'm not sure. Feel free to give it a shot anyways.

Hello, recently I found a really good value plan with vodafone where for $10 more then I'm paying at the moment I get a far superior device then I have at the moment and much better plan. That said, whenever I bring it up, everyone always seems to say the same thing. "Vodafone has crap reception though" That's what I'm looking into. If anyone on here uses/has used them in the last couple of years please tell me what your experience was like in terms of call quality, network reliability, customer service ETC, and preferably where about (just like rough locations) you've used it. And if it matters, I'm about 2 hours north of Sydney and on optus 3G at the moment

I have been doing some research on an good, affordable 360mm AIO and it seems the best option for me at this point is the H320. But the problem is, I can't find it anywhere as it seems that PC case gear and Scorptec have stopped stocking them. If anyone can find somewhere in Aus that sells them (preferably not ebay) please post a link. Thanks
