Hey everyone, So i finally decided I missed sports games enough to buy a PS5 slim. I didn't pay too much attention when I bought it but unfortunately sony in their infinite wisdom does not include a 3.5mm audio jack anywhere. In fact the only ports are USB-A, USB-C, ethernet (luckily) and HDMI.... So I piped the HDMI with video and audio signal to my monitor... which of course has no speakers because it's a gaming monitor... I thought i'd have to leave my beatuiful hifiman sundara's on the shelf and use a terrible PS5 headset everytime I used the thing until I realized my monitor has a audio passthrough... so I passed it through to my line in on my PC. With a few software tweaks things were running. I had to keep my PC on in order for the soundcard to play the audio through the speakers but at least both devices could use the same speakers. The problem is... with all these connections and chords even in a tight space the signal really loses steam... I can hear it sure but it isn't that rich beautiful audio I've become accustomed to with my Edifier MR4s for speakers and my HIFIman Sundara's. I was going to buy an amp/ dac anyways for the sundaras because they have low volume problems too... that's just due to the impedance though so I expected to have to do that. I'm wondering if it's safe to run a red and white RCA chord to RCA on the back of an amp/ dac output. Then run a RCA to 3.5mm chord from the input to connect the pc. And another aux chord from the Monitor audio passthrough to the 3.5mm input on a amp/dac and then connect the HIFIMAN Sundara's to the front headphone output weather it's quarter inch or 3.5mm doesn't matter sundara's have both. I essentially need an amp dac that can handle the input of a PS5 slim as well as the input from my PC and then output the audio signal to either the headphones or the speakers. I'll never be using the PS5 at the same time as the PC and vice versa. I'll also never need the speakers to play at the same time as the headphones... I'm just really struggling understanding all these audio things. I've also read that if you have powered speakers not bookshelf speakers like i do that you aren't supposed to run them through another amp/dac beecause it can brick them. I ordered the Fiio k5 pro which on their product page says you can run the RCA from your powered speakers to it... so idunno if that is true or not.... I'm just throughly confused and in need of tech tips. PLZ send help. BTW LTT your deskmat is awesome I love it! Thanks for getting me into PC building it's been a great hobby to get into while I heal from a car crash.

MAINBOARD: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D GPU: Asus Rog Strix RX 480 8GB (from old PC) RAM: Corsair Vengance RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL30 SSD1: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB SSD2: Corsair MP600 PRO XT 2 TB PSU: MSI A850G PC-CASE: BeQuiet Silent Base 802 HEADSET: Logitech Pro X (with cable) Hello. I am new to this stuff and can't articulate myself like I'd like to, so I beg your pardon in advance and hope you can help me nonetheless. I bought a brand new computer and while I listen to music on Spotify and Youtube i get random sound popping and/or microstutter. On my old PC I never had such problems. Sometimes when I listen music on Spotify I get randomly some kind of microstutter (sound dropout) for just like a millisecond on my USB Headset. And if I play the same part again it's not reapearing again. I tried a lot of solutions like deactivating USB ports I don't use, updating all drivers I have, try out every USB port I have on my PC (mainboard and PC Case) and USB Headsets of other manufactures. When I listen with some AUX Headphones I don't get such problems. So my question is if I got a problem with my Mainboard, if it's a problem with a driver of the manufacturer or even something I never thought about til now.? Thanks in advance

Hi Guys. I’m hopeful that someone might be able to assist me. I recently got a new Sony XR75X90L 4K tv with 120Hz refresh rate that I use as a monitor for my PC. my pc runs on windows 10 and I have a GeForce RTX 3080TI 12Gb graphics card. I also run a 8k UHD 48GB HDMI cable connected between the tv and my pc. ( so I can take advantage of the 4K at 120Hz refresh rate) The issue I am having is that my pc seems to drop the audio to the tv and connected sound system at a random time frame. Between 30min and 2 hours of playing games the sound cuts out and there is nothing. When you look at the volume level on system tools you can still see the audio bards moving but there is no sound coming from the tv or Attached sound system. If you press the menu button on the TV remote you can still hear the chime that the remote button make playing through the tv and the attached sound system which makes me think it’s an issue with my pc and not the tv. Sometimes I unplug the HDMI cable from the tv or my pc and plug it back in and the sound works again for a period of time before doing the same thing. Other times that won’t even work and I have to restart the pc for it to work. I have tried changing audio settings on my tv and my pc and have updated my drivers as well. I have been looking for answers everywhere and haven’t had much luck even though there are a few people experiencing similar issues. when I was using my old tv I had no issues whatsoever. Any help that you may be able to provide me would be greatly appreciated. not sure what else to do. thanks.

Hello! I have a problem with audio on Windows Laptop. My Laptop is showing my headphones as speakers. I tried them on a different PC and they showed up as Headphones as they should. Why is that happening? They are playing not that loudly as on the PC. They are playing quietly and the next thing is that I can't use the equalizer on the Realtek Audio Console because it thinks that they are headphones. What can be the issue here? Every other PC specifies them as headphones. And the next thing is that when I start an audio test in the Realtek Audio Console, It doesn't play correctly and it plays a sound like the PC is freezing. (Sounds like it's going to BSOD but after a few seconds it stops) Thanks for your help in forward!

I have ASRock AB350M-HDV with Onboard Realtek ALC887 Audio Codec. It worked fine for 3 years but today i tried applying new thermal paste for my cpu and do some cleaning. So i had to remove some parts like the graphic card and of course the cpu. Everything went smooth considering its my first time and then i plugged everything back in to where it was before without messing with anything else. After i turned on my pc, everything works fine except the sound icon on taskbar now has an 'X' sign, it says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in". I opened sound control panel and found out that "Realtek HD Audio" is nowhere to be found. Even in Device Manager, its only visible as hidden device (i checked the show hidden device option). I have tried uninstalling that driver but it didnt reinstall itself. Also tried clearing CMOS with jumper by full power turn off (plugged out power cord then clear power residue by pressing power button), wait for a minute or so, then switch the pin to 2 & 3 (according to mobo manual) for about 10 seconds, switch it back to 1 & 2, then turn on my pc again. But still no luck. Can you please help me? Thank you.

For the past few weeks, I've noticed that when I'm on Discord, my friends would hear everything I'm listening to (they say it sounds as if they're listening to it themselves - its super clear to them). The weird part is that I've tried muting my mic on my headset, and even pulling the entire mic out. Unfortunately they still somehow hear my audio clear as day (even without a mic inserted!). I've been trying all sorts of different methods to fix this issue such as ensuring my Stereo Mix is disabled, tried replugging in the headsets and mic, and uninstalled + reinstalled the audio driver three times. My mobo is a Rog Strix B450-F and I'm starting to think that something is internally wrong with my mobo? Possibly the stereo mix is just permanently enabled and theres no way for me to stop it? Or maybe theres a glitch in my computer where the audio is always going through the stereo mix? I'm honestly out of ideas here and hope there is some tech god here who can fix my computer cause it's extremely annoying having others listen to what I'm hearing. I've also tried multiple different headsets to ensure that its not just happening with my headset itself. In addition to the information above, it seems like when I switch my audio to my external speakers instead of my headset, my friends can no longer hear the sounds. If I also switch my microphone from my headset to my webcam mic, it doesn't pic up the sounds anymore. This forum is my last hope before I reset my entire PC, which I don't want to do because I'd have to re-install everything and it would just be annoying. Thank you to anyone whos willing to give fixing this a try!

Is there anyway to get the audio from a TV, Channels and Stream apps like D+/Hulu/etc..., to run through a GOXLR so i can hear the sound from my PC headphones? Yesterday I just added a 4k TV as a 5th monitor to my PC setup to play more relaxed games that require a controller, and it works great so far. I still want to use the TV as a TV though but need to be able to use headphones with it. Would running anything from the Tv Through my GOXLR solve this issue? TV = 55un6955zuf

I am planning on selling my old Lenovo Y50 and while checking the system for issues I ran into two issues, both related to audio. -The first issue is that whenever i use any wired headset or earphone, a static noise can be heard and after trying things like updating drivers the problem still seems to persist. The laptop uses realtek high definition audio and if anyone can provide a solution that would be very helpful. -The second issue is that whenever I mute the laptop while using earphones or headphones i cannot get the audio to come back unless I restart the device. I can however get the audio to work again by using the realtek audio manager without restarting it. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

I recently bought a new PC for gaming. Got the box, went home, was really happy. But, when i plugged it to my keyboard, mouse, headphones and speakers, i realized i could only get audio from my headphones. Initially, i thought it could be a hardware problem in my speakers, but i tested them in my laptop and they worked fine. So, i tried all these things i found on the internet:- Deactivate all audio enhancements;- Uninstall audio drivers and reboot;- Set speakers as default audio device (it was already set);- When i press the "test" button (in sound > playback > properties > advanced) i get a warning saying "failed to play test tone";- I tried changing my audio format, but the sound quality frequency option is grayed out;- I also tried using sfc/scannow in the cmd, but nothing was detected;- Finally, i tried changing all my audio drivers in the Device Manager do the generic "High Definition Audio Device". Also not worked.I've read on forums that, most of the time, this problem disappears automatically after a few days of turning the computer on and off. But it's been a week and i still have it. If it helps, i'm listing down here my specs.Windows 10 GALAX GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GBAMD RYZEN 3 2200G ASRock A320M-HDKINGSTON HYPERX FURY 8GB (1X8) 2400MHZ DDR4 BLACKCORSAIR CX550 80 PLUS BRONZE 550WAnd the speaker we're talking about is a Multilaser Warrior 3D Gamer Speaker, USB connected.Hope you all can help me. I've been saving money for a lot of time to buy this rig and i can't wait to play it, it really saddens me that this problem occured. If i can help giving any other details, i will gladly do so.

Hello and Good Day to everyone! I'm new to this forum and I hope someone can help me. Recently I bought a Hyper X Cloud II It has own sound card thing adapter with USB adapter. My PC can't detect it in the "playback" and in DM its on the Other devices tab. It has yellow triangle sign with it. When I try to right click it there's a option to update the driver. But when I update it, it says driver cannot update it for some reason. I read the manual, It says just plug it in and wait the windows to automatically install the driver. but mine doesn't do that. I also tried to uninstall it from DM then restart but still nothing happens. It work from other computers. And I plug it in USB 2.0 and 3.0 still nothing. My MOBO is Gigabyte.

Hi, It has always bothered me when a video or game takes advantage of the stereo sound, i.e that the audio is loud in one ear and quiet in the other. Is there any way of removing that annoying, stupid feature? I would really love to know. Thanks PS If you can not answer, thanks anyway.

So I realized a while ago that my audio would switch positions. Basically sound that should be heard by my left ear was heard by my right ear. I'm using Corsair 1500 headphones. I did a basic google shearch/LTT shearch since its sort of difficult to shearch for something that requires several sentences to explain the issue. It happens automatically and for no apearant reason except maybe the launch of a program/game. Any help would be SO appricated since its exceptionally annoying in Mount and Blade With Fire and Sword since the fix that I have sort of troubleshot on my own doesn't exacly fix it there. The way that I fix it is I change the audio's formate and it pretty much fixes itself, except in With Fire and Sword where the audio completely stops working :( I hope someone can help me...

I've owned these Astro a40s for about 4 years now and I think that they are now going out on me. For about two weeks now I have heard this crackle sound every time someone talks via Steam group voice chat (including myself). One of my friends in the chat room does has a terrible mic, but I have checked this problem by trying my friends pair and found that this is not the case. Everything else I use the headphones (TV, Movies, and playing games by myself) the crackle doesn't happen at all. -Although I have notice a lot of crackle on a recent Linus video about the next gen consoles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHogNolObqk For some reason, the crackle happens when the gameplay (staring at 2:51) is shown and Linus is doing commentary with his mic. Are my Astros busted? If it helps I use integrated sound with my msi g43 gaming motherboard using the front audio jacks on a corsair 400r. I use the slitter cables with my Astros as well.
