Hi all, I'm posting here at the suggestion of a user on the steam forums. Whenever I try to run Arkham Knight, I can only get it to display correctly at 2560x1440, and whenever I try to run it at 3840x2160 (the native resolution of my tv) it only shows the top left quadrant zoomed in. My system setup is as follows: Intel 6700k 4.0ghz quad-core 32gb dd4 ram at 3000 clock speed Asus ROG Strix 08G GTX 1080 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

So im not sure how many of you noticed this but if you already owned the game batman arkham knight then you should have a patch that adds a whole slew of graphics option like show in the picture below. However they still do not have an option to switch screens but i'm not that salty about that. On my GTX 780 i was getting about 52 fps on average when running the ingame benchmark but in actuality i'm getting a solid 60. Fps is also no longer capped at 30, but you now have options for 30/60/90 not perfect but much better. The absolute best part is that you can turn off the horrendous film grain effect that they put in.

So I just finally went in on a Gigabyte G1 980, (the batman plus wither 3 deal was too much for me, I tried to stay strong but just couldn't), and while I'm sitting here waiting on my beautiful new card to get here and boot my (also beautiful) evga 680 classified out of my machine I started to wonder if you guys think the i73820 is still an adequate cpu for most high end gaming. I mean I guess the question is, do you think I'm going to experience any cpu bottlenecks on games like Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, or any other high profile taxing games at 1080p moving forward that could be holding back my much anticipated pile of GPU hottness that I can't wait to shove into my system like a rabid animal. Don't think it holds much relevance but I guess I should mention some of the other specs; 16 gb G. Skill Ripjaws DDR3, 1200 watt gold thermaltake psu, asrock 87 motherboard. Bonus points to anyone who can point me towards the G Sync train without breakin my bank, (I wanna ride the G Sync train so hard.....like seriously hard)

So I was wondering what you guys think the game will be like, do you think it will be good? Who is already planning on buying it or pre ordering it? I know I am going to pre order the game, I have loved all the past Arkham games. I think they could make a really good S piderman game if they wanted to. I really want to see a game with The Flash in it though.

"Rocksteady is leading our team of developers and partners as we work on the PC performance issues that players have been encountering," an admin post on WBGames forum said. "The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place." Arkham Knight community admin "Yorick" provided a list of the key areas where Rocksteady would be focusing its work, including: Support for frame rates above 30FPS in the graphics settings menu A fix for low resolution texture bug Improving overall performance and framerate hitches Add more options to the graphics settings menu Improvements to hard drive streaming and hitches Address full screen rendering bug on gaming laptop Improvements to system memory and VRAM usage NVIDIA SLI bug fixes Enabling AMD Crossfire NVIDIA and AMD updated drivers An initial patch of the game due out this weekend will also make the following changes: Fix a crash that was happening for some users when exiting the game Fix a bug which disabled rain effects and ambient occlusion. Rocksteady are actively looking into fixing other bugs to improve this further Correct an issue that was causing Steam to re-download the game when verifying the integrity of the game cache through the Steam client Fix a bug that caused the game to crash when turning off Motion Blur in BmSystemSettings.ini. A future patch will enable this in the graphics settings menu Rocksteady's announcement concluded by thanking fans for their patience and feedback. I for one am glad that rocksteady is actually stepping up and at least fixing the game not saying that its acceptable that they did this to begin with but im glad they will be fixing the game i love the series and was really looking forward to it. sause: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/games/69779766/rocksteady-takes-the-lead-on-fixing-batman-arkham-knights-pc-problems

Edit: Changed the Title to something more appropriate. Edit 2: Turns out this article is well over a year old, It turns out that OC3D had reposed an old article: Link to another source provided by @RedSphyxis - HERE With the release date of Batman: Arkham Knight drawing closer, I have been looking at more and more Batman news, both real and fake. Overclock3D recently published an article from the folks over at MoneySuperMarket, who decided to price up how much they thought it would cost to be Batman, with all of the armor and tech gadgets (assuming they exist), from The Dark Knight film series. Note: This does not include the wealth of Wayne Enterprises. Admittedly, I don't know whe

So I've got a spare Arkham Knight code that I got from the Nvidia promotion that I'm not looking to keep, (surprise huh.) My question to the good fellows of Linus Tech Tips is where do you guys prefer to flip your codes? I know I can't expect too much for Arkham Knight as the game released broken but I'd rather make some type of profit from it rather than just let the code go to waste. So sound off guys, where do you sell your unwanted codes?

Major spoilers and a hefty rant within. Rocksteady, you done cocked up. I absolutely adore the Arkham series, but the story in particular of Arkham Knight was just an indescribable let-down. I originally had a huge explanation prefacing this rant, but I'll just get straight to it. Spoilers and rage from here on out, you were warned; One, they made the story about the Joker. AGAIN. I like the Joker as a villain, I do, and I know he's supposed to be Batman's greatest nemesis, his antithesis, representing the dichotomy between order and chaos, blah blah blah, but for christ's sake let's have some variety. Every Arkham game has had the Joker as the main villain somehow, and yet despite him being dead, he still manages to be the villain yet again in Knight. Batman has a HUGE rogues gallery to be drawn from, and such massive potential for interesting and diverse stories surrounding them, so why the focus on just Joker? Every game except Asylum suffers from what I shall refer to as "Rocksteady syndrome", which is when a villain is hyped up as the main antagonist in trailers and promotional material, yet in-game is reduced to being almost a side-character in favour of somebody else that the developers can't let go of; City: Hugo Strange knowing Batman's greatest secret and thus having an incredible advantage over him, with the ability to literally ruin him whenever Strange should so choose? That's great but Joker got poisoned by plot devices so he's still more important somehow Origins: Deathstroke, easily the singular toughest, most experienced, and skilful hand-to-hand combatant Batman has fought in any of the games? Nope, you get a 10-minute boss fight and that's yer lot, mate. Knight: I had such high hopes for Scarecrow being an interesting villain in this game, having turned from the rambling, restless nutcase he was in Asylum to the cold, methodical, and frankly dangerous man he is in Knight. Working alongside the mysterious Arkham Knight, he has access to an utterly unprecedented knowledge of both Batmans' and his allies' weaknesses, and is able to manipulate him with his unique brand of potent psychological attacks. Except you hardly see the guy! He is reduced to being just a disembodied voice on the radio that offers the occasional taunt, sidelined predictably in favour of the Joker, the presence of whom is so forced and in-your-face he literally follows you around for the entire game, still "alive" in Batman's mind somehow, to the point where even the ending is relegated to an entire "Batman conquering mind-Joker" sequence while Scarecrow just watches, which brings me neatly on to my next gripe; Two, several people including Batman are "becoming Joker" Just take a second to appreciate the fact that the guy who wrote the script for Knight took the time to write and submit "and then the people who received a transfusion of Joker's toxic blood and somehow didn't die despite never receiving the cure are now turning into new Jokers and also Batman is too because of plot devices". And then take another second to appreciate that other people thought it was a good enough idea to be incorporated into the plot. Having the Joker stay "alive" in Batman's mind was pushing it already even as far as comic book universe plots go, but this was just flat-out ridiculous. Three, Oracle dies but not really This was easily the best, most stand-out moment in the plot. Scarecrow, having used the Knight's knowledge to capture Oracle, expertly manipulates Batman and coaxes him into an ultimately fruitless chase that culminates in him being forced to watch Oracle commit suicide under the influence of Scarecrow's fear toxin. And the repercussions are enormous. Batman has just lost one of his few trusted and cherished "family" members, and his best intel source. Not only this, but her capture and subsequent death causes the Dark Knight to lose the trust of Commissioner Gordon, Robin, and even Alfred to a minimal extent. It shows that Scarecrow means serious business, and shows it in a way that efficiently divides Batman from his allies and takes away his biggest source of information. I was genuinely shocked at this development, and was impressed at how far Scarecrow was willing to go to break Batman. But of course, as we approach the end of the plot, the scriptwriters wimp out as it is revealed that Oracle is alive and well, and her death was merely a hallucination due to Scarecrow's fear gas, etc etc, which means all the impact her death had is repaired in an instant. Sure Scarecrow then proceeds to push her straight off a building, but naturally Batman saves her in the nick of time and tops it off by calling in his convenient spare Batmobile/Deus Ex Machina. Four, the Arkham Knight is just Jason goddamn Todd. The biggest cop-out of the entire game, the true identity of the Arkham Knight being nothing more than a carbon copy of Under The Red Hood. Given the promotional material describing the Knight as knowing Batman's every secret, I surmised, probably similarly to a lot of others, that he could only be a character who had previously been close to Batman but now had reason to hold a grudge, such as Jason Todd. Yet that same material also claimed that the Knight was an original villain, so it couldn't be him. Then throughout the game, so many references popped up to Jason, even with a trio of flashbacks/hallucinations depicting how Joker tortures and kills him, that I was convinced they were hyping it up to NOT be Jason, it simply couldn't be him considering how much they shoved him in your face. Then when he did finally reveal himself I had to stop and do a double-take because I didn't quite believe that they had tried to pass off something so painfully obvious as a "twist". Five, not really plot-related, but the use of some villains feels like a waste. This is Rocksteady's final game in the Arkham series, their swansong, their grand finale, it even ends up being Bruce Wayne's final night as Batman before retiring, and yet entire side missions are dedicated to small-timers like Firefly, Deacon Blackfire and Professor Pyg (who???). Also when Jason flees the scene, Deathstroke takes over the remainder of the militia and challenges Batman to a final, one-on-one, go-out-with-a-bang clash of titans before he gives up the cowl for good, yet is knocked out with a single punch in a cutscene and that's it. Weak, Rocksteady. Ordinarily I would never have penned such a rant, but considering how much I was looking forward to this game, and how deeply disappointed I was, I really wanted to get it off my chest. And the worst part? The game is fucking fantastic. Combat and stealth is the best it's ever been, and the Batmobile is a well-implemented, nice change of pace. Such a godawful story with so much wasted potential really has no place in what is in my opinion otherwise a masterpiece of a game. Thoughts?

I've been playing SoM for a while now, about 10 hours, and I've got to say a few things. First off, a lot of reviewers compare it to the Arkham games which is fair enough. But imo the Arkham games are a lot better. They have better story, better pacing, more variety and better combat. "What do you mean by better combat?" you could ask. It's the little things. I play SoM with the prompts disabled, the same as I play the Batman games. I like it because it makes the game harder and it demands more focus and skill. But in Batman you can see the enemies much clearer. Their actions are a lot more well defined. In SoM you barely have time to react to some attacks, such as the shielded orcs' attacks, the caragor's pounce or the berserkers's attacks. Not to mention it's impossible to tell when a crossbow wielding orc or a spear throwing one will attack. But this would be the smaller problem. The bigger problem is the targeting. In Batman it has a sort of intelligent targeting. Which means if I press the analogue stick towards a group of enemies that have an armored guy(=shield orc), a regular guy and a machine gunner the game will automatically realize that I'll probably want to hit the machine gunner because he is the biggest threat to me, and also if I hit the armored guy I'll loose my combo. Similarly if I have a combat takedown(=combat execution) and I press the analogue stick towards that same group of enemies it will probably kill the armored guy because he can't be hit with regular hits. This makes the game very easy to control because the game does what I want it to do, it sort of figures out what I want. In SoM it's a clusterfuck. All the enemies group up on you, it will constantly hit guys that you don't want Talion to hit, it'll execute guys that are on the ground instead of full health enemies or high threat ones like berserkers, it'll execute orcs with intel when I'm clearly pressing the stick in the OPPOSITE direction... I just feel like I'm not in control. It's one thing that it can't predict which orc I want to hit when I press the stick towards 2, 3 or more enemies, but the game will often go the opposite way, it just does whatever it wants to do. Oh, and I almost forgot that time when I tried to jump on a rope that was spanning a good length to escape a horde of orcs beneath me, but my character would't get on it, instead he jumped off in the middle of the orcs and they killed me. And that was just the combat part of my rant. The whole game is about killing orcs. It's very slow, very bland, the story has that same high fantasy LotR style (which I find utterly boring). Somehow the brutality doesn't help, it still feels like a fucking fairy tale for kids. Batman has no killing and it manages to feel a lot more mature. SoM has no good characters, they are all just boring archetypes, there's little to no variety in scenery and gameplay... Batman had puzzles, AR gliding training, mini bosses with flashed out stories, lots of gadgets to spice up the game and a fucking awesome soundtrack and sound design. When I watched Gamespot's video review in the comments I saw that people were hating on Kevin for giving it an 8.0 (Great). Someone actually said it was more of a 9!!! Well I'd give SoM a 7.8. Exactly that number. I don't know why. Don't get me wrong, it is fun, I've played plenty of worse games that I really enjoyed and I do not regret buying SoM. It's still the best Middle Earth based game, but it's not as good as everyone is saying it is. It has some interesting mechanics in terms of the nemesis system, the stealth can be pretty fun because of it's fluidity and fast pace and planning your moves in the orc politics can be pretty engaging. But it just makes me wish I was playing Arkham City instead.

I recently pre-ordered the Batman Arkham Origins game and it says the preload is only 180 megabytes, is that right because after it finished it said that I would be able t play it right away.

Hello everyone! So, as you all know, there's a humble bundle out, but since I already have all arkham games, I'm going to give away Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City! But I don't like the idea of just giving it away, for a few reasons, so I'll have you do something for it. This is partially to ensure that everyone has a chance to win, but also to boost the forums a bit (particularly the PC gaming thread). Important: You can only win one of the games! If you win Arkham City, you can't win Arkham Asylum, and vica versa. This way, I can make two people happy, instead of one. So now the rules regarding the games. Arkham Asylum To win this great game, you have a simple job. Make me laugh. But not just anyhow. You have to post a joke in writing (no videos). It can be long, it can be short (but no one-liners please, it should be at least 3-4 sentences) but it has to be something good. If the joke is already featured, you are going to have to come up with an other one. It doesn't have to be original, but it does have to be good and it's best if I've not heard it before (so don't take your chances). Arkham City Ok, so now the hard one. To win this, you have to post some art. I'm a big supporter of art. Because of this, your entry includes 3 pieces of art that you can post. The way this works is that I'm going to take the best one into account, the others don't matter. (so if you post 3 pictures for eg. I'm going to take the one I like the most, the rest are out of the competition) So you only have one entry. Your entry can be: -Music: You can sing, you can play an instrument, do a cover of a song. The only criteria is that it has to be oldschool music, by witch I mean no dubstep, no electric crappy music, it has to involve actual instruments (at least one real instrument besides drums) -Drawing/painting: This doesn't have to be oldschool, hand-drawn art, it can be digitally made, but please don't send in pictures that you made in MSpaint. The idea here is to make an effort! -A short story: If you feel that you aren't good at music or drawing, you can still try your hand at writing. This can be about anything, in any style. Experimentation is encouraged. -Dancing: I doubt there are a lot of dancers here recording themselves and putting it on YouTube, but on the off chance that you are, I don't want you to feel left out. -Crafting: This involves paper craft, origami, building stuff with wood, sculpures, all that good stuff that you made. PM me if you have some other form of art that you feel I'm not taking into account here and I'll think about it. A few more important things If you post a YouTube video, you should put some indication that it is in fact you, so in the description write something like "This video is a participant in the Arkham Giveaway Contest". Everyone is good at something, you just have to try yourself out! The selection process is going to be a difficult one. I'm going to check weather someone made a serious effort, but the winner will be determined by a dice roll. So you don't have to have the best piece of art, or the best joke, you just have to take part. Approved entries will get a like from me so they know they are in. The end of the contest is November 20. 12:00 GMT! I feel this was an awful lot of text for just two games, but the aim here is to better the forum with some nice posts. Good luck to everyone!

I thought I would try something else and write a review of sorts, since there aren't a lot of posts like this and I would like to see some more. Hopefully this will catch on and people will share their thoughts and experiences of games they play and we can have some nice discussions going on. First off, I was a little put down when I heard about the bad review scores for Batman: Arkham Origins. I've played the first two games and I was blown away by them. I was never a huge DC fan, I was always a Marvel guy (still am), but these games made me Batman fans. They have great, epic stories, the production value is through the roof, great acting, great visuals, music and most of all, gameplay! The sneaking parts were a great feature in my opinion (I'm a huge stealth fan) and it really made me feel like a bad-ass when the goons were trembling in fear. Then there's the well known free flow combat that is just so great. Arkham City improved a lot on Asylum, but also took away that creepy feeling that Arkham Island gave. The lobotomized patients, the creepy medical gear, the feeling that you are on on island full of killers and you have to compete against crazy odds. These were gone for the most part in Arkham City. But in turn we got a more opened space to explore, we got more villains, and we got an even more epic story. But the best thing that Arkham City did was introducing new mechanics, building on existing ones, without being overwhelming. New weapons, new moves and new enemies. So, after reading some reviews, I was hesitant to buy Arkham Origins, but after TotalBiscuit's video I decided that I'll go for it. And man did I choose right! So, I'm going to say the game's awesome. From here on I'm going to elaborate on why it's so awesome. The visuals are insane. Every time I loaded up the game I was blown away by it. Because it's not the Battlefield crap where they put 10 effects in at once so you can't even see anything. This game looks great because of the texture quality, lighting effects, and most of all design. The Christmas theme is used very well in my opinion and has a big impact on the whole vibe of the game. Christmas lights hanging everywhere, presents and fake snowmen in the buildings, the snowstorm, all of this matched perfectly with this eerie feeling of dread and criminals roaming the streets. I liked it a lot. But the Christmas theme not only impacted the visuals, but the sound department as well. And much like with visuals, the music is also great. I believe that the sound design and soundtrack of a game is every bit as important as the visuals. And the soundtrack in Arkham Origins is one of the best I've ever heard. I can't even name any game that has better music off the top of my head, maybe The Witcher 2 can compete with it. The moment I started the game and the music in the main menu started I felt immersed. This is the power of music. So now that we've talked about the superficial things, let's dig deeper, let's talk gameplay. As I mentioned, Arkham City introduced new elements to the combat, and going back to Asylum, I felt it a bit lackluster after City. So what about Origins? Well, it didn't change that much about the combat as City. Older gadgets come back with some new names, like the glue grenade (which is in every respect equivalent to the freeze blast), but we also have some slight changes. The line launcher gets a pass this time around to give room for the much better "remote claw" which in some cases can be used as a remote line launcher (zipping along a tightrope) but is extremely useful in predator sequences. But the best addition in my opinion are the shock gloves. You get these babies from the electrocutioner. Now these are kind of the replacement item for the remote charge gun, in terms of operating electric motors, but are also a game-changer in combat. Now, in terms of enemies, we've got a few more enemy types. The thugs on venom, the large thugs and the martial artists (which are a pain in the ass). Some reviews say that the game is too easy, well, try playing on hard without visual hints. That'll make it hard. I've played through Asylum and City on hard without the visual hints and I rarely had problems. Now, they've amped up the difficulty big time and I really had to concentrate on what I was doing, who I was hitting, making smart decisions on the fly while also looking out for cues on who is about to hit me, often loosing my free flow combo. WHICH I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! My beef with the previous Arkham games was that they were pretty easy (apart for the poison Ivy fight and maybe Mr Freeze from AC). The next thing I want to talk about is the general feel of the game. The previous games were good, felt good, I've already said this, but they were immersive and epic and my major fear was that since it's not Rocksteady who made the game, the story might not be so good. Also the new Joker and Batman voices might not feel right. Well, when I started a new game, I was both psyched and let down at the same time. I was let down by the new design on Batman. He is bulky, he has a lot of armor on, his cape is a bit shorter. All in all he felt a lot more realistic. Which is not the best direction to go when we're talking about a Batman game. But as the game went on I grew fond of it. I particularly like how the cape is attached to Batman. The other let down was killer crock. In Asylum he was a lot bigger, more intimidating, and a lot greener. Now he feels washed out, more like an overgrown scaly human. Thankfully after the first 20-30 minutes of the game we don't see him again until the very end. But I really liked how the Joker and Batman are younger in this. I didn't really notice Batman's new voice, I think it's a perfect match, it really feels like the same guy just younger. The Joker however gives a lot weaker performance, which is a shame. But the ending in the chapel is great, that kind of redeemed the new joker. The Christmas vibe and the snowstorm was a welcome change in my opinion and it was fun seeing the Arkham City part of Gotham in it's former glory. Without giving away anything, the story is great, I think with all the changes it felt new and fresh. Batman is a lot younger. he is a lot more hot-headed, he beats the crap out of people and he has a lot of rage. Which is great, seeing Batman being a lot more aggressive, as opposed to the always calm Batman from the previous games. Anger and rage is my favorite emotion in stories though, so I might be a bit biased. There are some awesome things in the story that I won't spoil now, but let me just say that Alfred was used in a great way. Unlike in Arkham City, Alfred is not just a "robot", we see Bruce care about him and Alfred caring about Bruce, and there are some real emotional moments with them (again, some great, great performances). The last thing to talk about is how much content is there really in this game. Well, I played through the campaign in about 18 hours. (steam says 18, but that's of course with toilet and meal breaks) I didn't rush through the story, I did a lot of side-missions to get some much needed upgrades, but the story is at least 10-12 hours long. I was amazed how long it was, and I barely touched the challenge modes and haven't even played a single online match yet. There are still a lot of enigma stuff left to be done, some more case files and curiously enough 2 more most wanted criminal that I haven't even met yet. So needless to say there is a lot of content, I have 56 hours in Arkham City, and I see myself putting in at least 60 hours in Origins (there's still new game plus, and god forbid, the "I'm a knight" instant-death mode, as well as the challenges, and who knows what DLC they're going to put out). So that's my synopsis with Batman: Arkham Origins. Let me know what you thought of the game, did you think it was a major disappointment, or do you think it's an epic game? It might not be the best game in the series, but it's definitely my favorite by a country mile. I'm going to leave you with some epic music:
