This mod is going to be built for the occasion, I've already sent the righthand side panel off to be cut, this will be done with a water jet and all going to plan it should have the 20th Anniversary logo perfectly cut, this part is painful as it's out of my hands. I will then be adding frosted acrylic to the panel and lighting for the effect, I may go for a slightly tinted frosted window yet, the more I think about it the more I realise it is in keeping with the glass panel on the lefthand side. Once I have received the panel, I will then need to decide what I'm actually doing with the case as the panel will need a respray and I don't have the colour be quiet! use to paint their cases so the whole thing will be painted or other... If I go the route of painting I'll using a classic gun metal grey. I'm also adding the 20th Anniversary logo on the PSU shroud in the form off clear acrylic along with an orange colour acrylic version, one will be placed on top of the other to give a raised/3D effect. 20th Anniversary logo Parts list Ryzen 5700G Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 Muskin Redline Lumia 2x 8gb 4133mhz - Changed to T-Force Xtreem 4133mhz 2x 8gb Kingston KC3000 1Tb NVMe be quiet! Pure Base 500FX be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 550w be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 360mm To be added shortly after Gigabyte 6650XT Windforce.

Hi, yesterday I installed the new anniversary update windows 10 and I found that it has consume my SSD too much. i accidentally deleted windows old and now I cannot recover to old windows. What should I do to reverse to the previous windows before the update?

Yeah so I haven't been following Windows news in about a year. On my personal machine, I've been using Linux and for gaming I've been using my Xbox. bite me. I was about to reinstall Windows 10 on my PC again - I have spare drives just sitting there and I want to play CS GO. What's this 'Creators Update'? Also what is 'Anniversary Update'? I will refer to these as CU and AU, respectively. I recall headlines last year about AU but I pretty much ignored them. From my 1 year's of catching up-to-do, I gather Microsoft have apparently dropped support for 'Original' Windows 10. What's that all about? I assume Windows still gets security updates though? I recall Microsoft did change their product model but at no point did I think or read that they'll be releasing a new version of Windows every year. Why not just push out these as updates through Windows update instead of asking you to completely reinstall?

So... there are alot of people having issues with the Anniversary Update or AU. I currenttly installed the AU on my currenty system with the result of a slow and unresponsive Start menu, new event errors and settings responding when it feels like it. . . some people have reported other issues too but this could be the result of users/software unknowingly made changes to windows that causes such issues. In the near future i will be installing a new mobo set and in which needs a new win 10, should i give the AU a chance and install it on a fresh win 10? or should i avoid it like the plague and tick the defer feature updates in Update settings under Advanced options? As a reminder of what is in the AU look here: http://www.howtogeek.com/248177/whats-new-in-windows-10s-anniversary-update/ the features i can live without and i would not think microsoft had a defer feature updates box if it was not optional, so i could continue on getting vital updates while ignoring the AU all together. Please vote and let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks a bunch!

I hate that they removed this from the options, how dare they assume that people don't need control over this stuff? Anyway, I changed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update to 3, supposedly corresponding to the old "Download but let me choose when to install option". Would this work on this version?

Hey guys! So I updated my laptop to the new Anniversary update, and my mouse felt weird. In games such as League of Legends and CS:GO the mouse seems to lag a bit behind as well as become very smooth. This is very uncomfortable smooth because it is unnatural and it feels as though it isn't responsive. I checked all settings (mouse acceleration, motion blur) and everything was the same. I reverted the update but the same thing still exists, where it didn't before. Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this? Thank you

Sound Crack / pop with Windows 10Anniversary
Zathel posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello, This is the only place that I hope can bring peace to my mind. I have a persistent problem since the Windows 10 Anniversary update that has challenged my mental capabilities each and every one of these 20 days since the update. The problem is: Sound crack and Popping occurs when playing audio/gaming/streaming videos followed by stuttering / mini stuttering when playing game. Especially bad if I switch tabs or doing both at the same time. I checked my PC's DPC latency, and it is through the roof. I used 2 programs to check my DPC latency: Latency Mon and DPClat. The first tool brought up a detailed report as to what causes the problem and the second just informed me of my extreme latency (1500 ms). According to Latency Mon (I will include the report below) dxkrnl.sys (DirectX Graphics Kernel, Microsoft Corporation) is what causing the huge spikes. The first thing I did was to re install the drivers of my GPU (GTX 970). Nothing changed. I then proceeded to remove my GPU, remove the drivers using DDU and checking again. The same thing was reported with my integrated gpu. I proceeded to do a clean install of windows 4 different times, testing from the beginning if I had issues and until I installed all the necessary drivers of my motherboard. The same problem was reported each and every time. And the same problem with the sound occurred each and every time. I sold my 970 and got a 1070 (was planning an update anyway). Same thing. Now I am sitting here, with no GPU inside my rig, with a fresh install of windows, trying to figure out what is wrong and what is causing the DirectX Graphics Kernel, Microsoft Corporation to cause all these problems. On top of that, to eliminate any problems related to audio drivers or bad integrated sound card, I used sound from my AT2020 USB+ microphone which has a dedicated sound card. Same thing happened when using sound directly from the microphone. P.S - Before you post the usual, yes I did everything a sane person would do. Changed the power settings to be at high performance, removed from BIOS any power management related setting, Removed drivers and reinstalled them using DDU, did a fresh installation (not even reset) of windows, changed cables of each and every component, updated my GPU to a new one, changed ram slots, removed any oc on CPU, GPU, RAM etc etc etc. Please, for the love of God and everything holy, help me find the issue. It's been 20 days that I cannot do anything on my PC. P.S 2 - SPECS: Mobo: MSI z170 m7 Gaming CPU: i7 6700K GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X (Prior: MSI GTX 970 Gaming) Ram: HyperX Savage @2144 (2400 OC) 8G (1 stick, planning to purchase more in the near future) P.S 3 - Latency Mon Report (Displays Win 8 as my operating system, I suppose it's a bug as it was just updated to windows 10 compatibility)- 12 replies

I was updating to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition when my power went. When I tried to power up the next morning, the computer wouldn't even get to bios before shutting down automatically. The Q-Code on my X99-A motherboard gets stuck at 33 before the crash though. I used bios flashback, but there is no effect. I took out the RAM and replugged, and did the same for the graphics card. I unplugged all sata devices as well to no avail. I unplugged all the RAM to get stuck at a new error code of 53. I also tested if switching RAM slots would change anything which it didn't. The Q-Code is still currently stuck at 53. I also tried clearing RTC RAM by moving the jumper caps as well as reinstalling the button cell battery. Nothing has worked yet. If anyone can help it would be great. I'm hoping I didn't brick the motherboard. Thanks!!

Read this thread if you believe that the NSA is listening to you via Cortana. It is astonishingly easy to disable Cortana (well, not even close to as easy as it should be, Microsoft needs to get it together) Before you read this thread you should know that we will be changing the Windows registry which can lead to some irreversible problems if you are careless, that said, these are very straight forward instructions, anyone can do it! Step #1: -Go to the settings for Cortana and disable everything that has to do with Cortana. This step is not necessary but if you believe in being extra careful, do this. Step #2: -Enter the windows registry editor by holding down the start menu key and pressing 'r', and then type in 'regedit', press enter and when a dialog box appears, press 'yes' -In the registry, navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\ -Now that you are at the 'Microsoft' folder, right click the 'Windows' folder and select New>Key, name this key 'Windows Search' -All you have to do now is right click the 'Windows Search' folder and select New>DWORD (32-bit) Value and, name it 'AllowCortana', now double click it and make sure the value is set to 0, and it's a hexadecimal (not sure if it has to be) Step #3: -Finally you are ready to get rid of Cortana, all you need to do is a restart and you will now be back to the good old "Search Windows" bar *It is important noting that if you want to get Cortana back in the future, it is as easy as navigating back to the 'AllowCortana' file, double clicking it, setting the value to 1. If that fails, just delete it. Microsoft, there is a huge number of people who hate Cortana, just make it easier to disable! I don't check back in here regularly, but when I do I would be happy to answer any questions!

Since installing the Windows 10 Anniversary update when I turn on my PC and it takes forever to log in and when it finally does I'm greeted with a black screen. I can't do anything other than move the cursor around or bring up task manager, etc. I have to restart the computer for it to function normally and logging in takes about 2 seconds as opposed to around 20. I can't seem to be able to uninstall the update either. Suggestions?

So I'll be building my first pc by Thursday when the parts arrive and I know how to set up everything hardware-wise but I have some doubts on what to do next when the BiOS shows up. Is there any guide on how to start installing the OS and other important stuff that I should do? (The motherboard comes with Windows 8) PD: BTW I was wondering if Windows 10 is still free, so I can install Win10 after installing Win8.

Alright, to preface this I just want to say that I'm a computer noob. So, I would like to add an additional 8gb to my already existing 8gb of RAM. I have 2x4gb sticks of Kingston Hyper X Fury and I was wondering if I was to buy another 8gb of Kingston Hyper X Fury would it be all well and good? If it matters: I have an Asrock Z97M anniversary motherboard. Thanks in advance -Ethan

As some of you super nerds out there like me already know, today is the day that the bombs fell in the fallout universe. I'm creating this to see what you guys think about the new "Fallout 4" title and how you think it is going to be. Also i would like to hear your opinion about the other games (fallout , fallout 2 etc.). With that, this guy made a nice video on how important today is to us fallout fans.(I take no credit for the video) So if Bethesda reads this...please just a peak.

it's been 10 years since the most epic MMO was introduced to this world WOW!, In order to celebrate World of Warcraft’s 10-year anniversary Blizzard has created a special in-game event that begins Friday, November 21st and lasts until Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. The event consists of the three activities Maximum Molten Core One of WoW’s classic 40-player dungeons, Molten Core, will be available in Raid Finder during the anniversary period for level 100 players. Making it through the underground gauntlet and defeating Ragnaros will reward players with a Core Hound mount and a Warlords of Draenor Raid Finder–quality helm (100% guaranteed!). Southshore vs. Tarren Mill—The Battle Continues To recapture the feeling of the endless tug-of-war of early WoW PvP, we’ll be opening a Team Deathmatch–style Battleground based on the timeless struggle between Southshore and Tarren Mill. We’ll have two different brackets for players to take part in: one for levels 90–99 characters and another for level 100. Unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat. A win will gain you a shiny new title: either Tarren Mill Terror for the Alliance or Southshore Slayer for the Horde. Onward into Warlords of Draenor With the release of Warlords of Draenor, all unrated PvP Battlegrounds, Skirmishes, and other unrated PvP activities will be available immediately. The new rated season will begin Tuesday, December 2 at 8 a.m. PST. We also wanted to make sure that everyone had time to level up before we opened our first Raid dungeon, Highmaul, in Normal and Heroic modes. These will open at the same time as the rated PvP season (December 2), with Raid Finder and Mythic modes opening the following week. We’ll provide a complete schedule in the future for those who wish to start planning their new Raid calendars. Blizzard is also throwing in a free Molten Corgi pet for anyone who logs in to World of Warcraft during this period. The latest World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor will be released on November 13th, shortly before the 10- year anniversary event kicks in.. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/15787801/preparing-to-launch-warlords-of-draenor-celebrate-10-years-of-world-of-warcraft-9-10-2014 http://www.loadthegame.com/2014/09/12/world-warcraft-10-year-anniversary-event-detailed-blizzard/
