Does anyone know if you can add a Corsair Link Cooling Node directly to an H100i, or do I need the Corsair Link Commander?

Hey guys, very new to the forum! Saw this page and thought I'd give you a tour of my soon-to-come build! It's an attempt to build a rather low end cost build, with quality components (love Corsair in particular) and low power usage. Case: Corsair Carbide 300R (thinking of buying the rubber grommets for better looking interior) PSU: Corsair HX650 80 plus gold semi-modular CPU: AMD FX-4100 3,6 GHz (Purchasing the Corsair Hydro H80i closed water cooling solution, instead of the stock cooling) RAM: 2x4GB Dual Channel Corsair Vengeance LP 1600 MHz 1,5V HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (Might throw a 120GB SSD at it at some point too) GPU: MSI 7950 3GB Twin Frozr V3 (Not the cheapest 7950, but by far the best looking/best cooling I've been able to find) Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (Not very familiar with mobs, but this seem to be able to handle my parts in a good way) I'm probably not going to over-clock my system, which is why the water cooling solution might be a slight overkill, but I'd like the coolest solution I can get, without running into compatibility problems with my rather small ATX case. Got any suggestions on how to improve on the build, should I be changing some parts or does it look fine and dandy? I've built my rigs a couple of times before, but I'd like to be sure before just venturing out there and buying a ton of hardware :D Woolbeach

Hey guys, Today I got a little package in the mail from corsair; Contained in it was a red and white color scheme for there new 2013 GS series of Power supply's :D Here is an official picture i was emailed by corsair while inquiring about this; So yeah... this is what my rig looks like with the stock blue stickers and band on; and this is after  What do you guys think?

A few months ago on Reddit, Corsair's George Makris (900D guy from CES) described Linus as "freakishly handsome and smells fantastic." Source: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/16bpxj/we_are_corsair_a_computer_hardware_company_ask_us/c7uk9t0 Just thought I would share. What do you think Linus smells like? Probably pickles and soft, closed cell foam.

Hello there, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster, just made an account after being inspired by the recent Livestream and the builds of the week. I'm a relative novice to the modding scene but I have had 2 previous cases (NZXT Phantom and Lanboy Air) which ive done minor mods to. Now then, I've just bought a Corsair 300R as a sort of project case to mod and play around with while getting used to new ideas. I'll be slowly updating but for now i've installed a luminous red tinted top window in the case. I've also replaced the stock fans with Red 120mm Coolmaster Sickflow fans. I'm going for a Red Black and possibly White, although i will decide on that soon, Colour scheme. If the case turns out well and people like it, i'll more than likely transfer my build over despite the 300R being considered an entry level case. Here's the Picture of the case in its current state. http://i.imgur.com/xTBa6yH.jpg It still needs a bit of touching up, its not secure yet and needs some edges touching up jagged edges filing etc. In case anyone is interested these are my previous modded cases, nothing flash but meh. Phantom http://i.imgur.com/jqHMpQI.jpg Lanboy Air http://i.imgur.com/5CWPZJG.jpg Oh and apologies for the mess of wires etc! Let me know what you think and recommend some suggestions if you can, any feedback is good feedback. thanks

Hey guys, I am looking for a silent build, but still I want to do a bit of an overclocking with the H100i and so I was wondering, whether am I able to install the H100i in there with the top cover on and if so, would it decrease my airflow a lot? I've seen a Corsair pic at the official sites that there is H100 installed with the top cover on (bottom included links). Should i rather consider buying a Bitfenix Ghost instead? I am looking forward to any answer. http://www.corsair.com/en/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/d/e/detail_550d_fans_1.png http://www.corsair.com/en/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/5/5/550d_hero_down_built_1.png

How hard would it be to replace the side window of a Corsair C70 with a solid acrylic pane without the fan mounts? I'd obviously want it to look really clean and well done, so I'm just wondering if this kind of thing is doable?

Hello everyone! I'm about to buy a Fractal Design Define XL R2 from ncix and looking to upgrade my cpu cooler. Does anyone know the correct rad mount spacing for the define XL R2? Will it support both H110 and Kraken X60? Would love to know what you guys think as I don't really want to mod the mounting holes myself. Any other suggestions are welcomed, Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! :D After doing some research into doing my new build, I can't decide upon the case to choose. I have narrowed it down too two cases. The 650D and the Shinobi XL. I love the simplicity of both cases and they both have a side window which I want. With me using Alchemy Cables I'm not sure how the 650D will cable manage because I seen a review of the case where the side panel was curved because of the cables. So I'm concerned with the cable management space, if I was to get the 650D. Anyway, I'm only planning on using a h100i but along the years think about custom watercooling, so the Shinobi would be a good case to do that. Also, I was planning on removing all the HDD cages to allow better airflow and place them in the 5.25" bays. However, the Shinobi is cheaper at the moment and it's a full size case. But I also care a lot about aesthetics! :P So what would you guys recommend? Any advice guidance is much appreciated! Thanks all! Kieran

Corsair Vengeance VS. Patriot Viper 3 I am currently in the middle of getting a list of parts together that I want for a new build. I plan on doing a red and black them around the Crosshair V. The only thing I can't really decide on is the RAM. The mobo has 2 red dimms and 2 black dimms, and I would like to have 1 red kit of RAM and 1 black kit of RAM. Both Corsair and Patriot have matching sets of RAM in red and black. I have no experience with Corsair or Patriot RAM and was wondering what the forum would recommend. The kits are the following: Corsair http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233310 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233246 Patriot http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220686 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220734 I know 32GB is overkill but I will be running multiple VMs and doing HD video and image editing. If anybody would be able to help that would be awesome.

Hey guys, first of all i would like to thank you all in advance. On the last Cyber Monday I bought a new computer consisting of an Asus P8 Z77-V LK motherboard and 16GB (2x8GB) of Corsair Vengeance. Since the day I finished building it my computer will freeze randomly, but if any audio is playing it will continue playing as a loud humming noise. I did some research and found out the memory I have isn't actually compatible with the motherboard. I'm sick of putting up with it and am going to buy new RAM, but before I do I need help choosing compatible RAM. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I'm a moderate gamer, but also do a bit of video editing for friends, so I would like it to be 16GB of dual channel if possible. Thank you again for any help you may be able to provide, - Owl.

Well, where do I start? This is my first build ever, but I find it quite impressive nevertheless. I have been quite, you might call it, "inspired" by Linus in the choices of components, and the four hours spent on cable management I blame on TinyTomLogan ;D Well, let's get this started, before I bore you way to much by just jabbeling about... Specs: Cabinet: CM Storm Stryker (which I can't understand why Linus&co haven't unboxed/reviewed already) MoBo: MSI Mpower z77 CPU: Intel i7 3770k Cooling: H100i (with Noctua NF-F120PWM, inspired by Linus) Thermal grease: Artic Cooling Silver 5 GPU: MSI GTX680 Lighting Sound: ASUS xonar DGX PSU: Corsair AX760i RAM: Avexir Mpower 32gb cl10 1600mhz @1.5v w. breathing yellow LED. SSD: Samsung 840 pro 256gb HDDs: Seagate 2T and an old WD 500gb Additional intake fan (bottom): Silverstone air penetrator (white lights) Sleeved cables: Bitfenix sleeved cables (white/white) 24-pin, 2x 8-pin ATX, 6-pin ATX, 8-pin ESP & front panel audio OS: Windows 8 64-bit The 32gigs of ram seems kinda like overkill for many, but it is not that much of a difference in price between 16 and 32 gigs. And, at the same time, i have already maxed out using 24gig ram (when using Premiere + some other programs) so i guess it was well worth it. I hate the look of the Noctua NF-F120, but luckily it is not visible when it is in the roof of the Stryker. The breathing Avexir MPower ram is beautiful, as you can see in the quick little "trailer" at the bottom of this post The Bitfenix Sleeved cables (white/white) makes for such a clean look inside the computer, but on the backside it is a whole other story... xD The computer is named after the awesome song by NitGrid called "Hyphycide" That's about it, hope you found it interesting. The short video down below shows the PC (obviously), and remember to notice the "breathing" Avexir Mpower RAM :D Song; Oxygene by Jean Michel Jarre And, Linus, if you read this (or Cooler Master for that sake): Why haven't you unboxed/reviewed the CM Storm Stryker? It is a beautiful case, it is big, well built and nicely designed :D Cheers!

Hi Everybody :) First of all, i'm sorry for my english, im Swiss. Correct me if i'm wrong, i need to learn this ;) I need some Feedback for those two Cases: Cooler Master HAF XM and Corsair 500r. I'm kind of switching between these two Cases, because i'm looking for Excellent Airflow, silence and looks. I'm going for a red-themed build, so both of these (500r in black, of course) would fit my needs in look. But i'm also going for great Airflow wich both are good Cases for, but the HAF XM has the top Rad mount, if i want to add a Rad in the Future. The 500r, you can stick some silent Fans in and you're good to go. The HAF XM comes with two 200 millimeter Fans, so when they're loud, i had to use Voltage-resistors for the Fans, and they're already not a Monster in pushing Air (I have some of the same fans in my HAF 912), or we do some modding and fit some 140 Millimeter or 120 Millimeter. For the Looks, both are looking absolute awesome. I really like the industrial Look of the HAF-Series, but also the simplicity of the 500r. So tell me what you think and i'm really thankful for fast and good help :)

I have a corsair 650D case which has a hot swap bay at the top with a sata interface. This pugs into a sata port on my motherboard and a sata power connector. Its a Asus IV Formula motherboard, with an AMD Phenom II x6 1100T and 16GB of RAM. I have AHCI enabled in the bios, what else do i need to do to be able to just slot a drive in the top while windows 7 is on and the drive pops up ready for me to access the files? Cheers

After watching about eleventynine videos i figured I "needed" to switch from air to an AiO watercooling solution. Right now I'm using a Prolimatech Mega Shadow with 2x Xigmatek XLF-F1253 LED to keep my i7-2600K @4.2GHz running. Highest temp so far was 72C with an ambient around 24C. That was without any GPU load though. I'd eventually like to raise the multi some more and wonder if spending 150-200 currency is really worth it. What kind of improvement should I be seeing with either H100i or H200 and 2x Noctua NF-F12 Either should fit into my Cooler Master 840 case. I'm already using the 3x120er rails to hold two NB-eLoop B12-2 fans. H100i vs H220 should be easy when it comes to performance. However, the H220 pump issues scare me. http://www.overclock.net/t/1367654/swiftech-h220-owners-club Reading through the thread it felt like a lot of people were having issues with either debris or trapped air killing the pump, having to RMA up to three times. That sounds seriously annoying. At the moment the H220 isn't really available anywhere in Europe anyway, or so it seems. There was one Dutch store, that wanted 140 + 10 for shipping. However, I read that Swiftech moved their production sites and already picked up again. They expected deliveries somewhen around mid-May. Aquacomputer has already ordered. So that's just a matter of time really. And it's still not helping with my pump scare. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks :D

Hey there guys. I am getting a new computer and i recently noticed that the RAM i wanted to get (Corsair Dominator) , had 1.65volts and that most other memory has 1.5volts. Will this be an issue with an Intel Ivy Bridge motherboard (ASUS P8Z77 V-LX)? am i better off getting the Corsair Vengeance instead?

Hey if you have not seen the build that I was going to make here is an update to the ultimate $3000 build. Click Here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/14464-the-ultimate-3400-3700-build-soon-help-me-choose-a-name/ This is the build that I will be putting together because I noticed I had no space for a full tower pc. So this pc is meant to be small, but still pack a punch in performance. I am taking up the whole space of case. I am putting a 240 radiator on the top of the case and a 120 radiator on the front of the case where the hard drive cages are. The reservoir in one of the 5.25 Bay and above or below will be a pump. All the fans will be replaced. Two Graphics cards will be water cooled and overclocked so will the cpu probably to 4.6 ghz. This may vary. So now you know what I am going to do for water cooling now to the parts. This is a Corsair build! Pictures soon! This is my first build so dont judge :) It isn't complete. but im only missing two parts The H80I was in the way of the window. I Hated the way it looked so i had to move it. I am not installing a Optical drive. so i put it there. Honestly, you cannot even tell its hidden there other then the tubes leading to it. The cables are a bit messy, but i dont have the PSU. and i still need more cable ties. Now it isnt in the way of the window :) <SYSTEM SPECS> 8GB Hyper X BLU Ram AMD FX-6100 60GB Kingston SDD (For boot drive) 1TB for ETC. < TO BE ADDED > 2X 650TI Boost in SLI Corsair AX860I
