Summary An AMD Ryzen 7 7800X with 10 cores and 20 threads and Ryzen 3 7300X with 4 cores and 8 threads have been discovered in a Geekbench submission. The 7800X processor scored 2097, and 16163 points in single and multi-core Geekbench tests. In the same test, Ryzen 3 7300X scores 1984 and 7682 points. Quotes My thoughts AMD is finally going to compete in the entry level to midrange area with these parts, and I feel that is necessary to help Zen 4 sales thrive. The 10c/20t 7800X should replace the price point of the 7700X and will offer competitive performance against Intel's 13700k. While the 4c/8t 7300X could be priced appropriately to compete with the Core i3. Performance wise, the Ryzen 7 7800X is halfway between the 7700X and 7900X; while the 7300X basically matches the Ryzen 5 5600X in multithreaded performance. According to TweakTown these parts will be released in the coming weeks, supposedly after RDNA 3 launches. Also, worth mentioning is the 7700 non-X, but that might be an OEM only part (hopefully it isn't). Anybody have the Gaming 7 X299? And the 7800X cpu by chance? I’ve got quite a mystery to solve. A few months ago I started noticing video lag in my editing software. Checked for Windows updates - which usually solves it. It didn’t. Then I started noticing lag everywhere else. I mean everywhere. I’d try to restart it and it wouldn’t come on. Lights and fans would come on but that’s it. Sometimes the whole system would be on but nothing would come on the screen. MB shows all sorts of weird codes. But then sometimes, it would work fine. But not for long. 1. I dusted the entire PC. 2. I tested the RAM and CPU with Windows (RAM) and Intel CPU test. Both were fine. 3. I swapped out the GPU for another. Same issue. 4. I installed a sample version of Windows on a clean drive with nothing else. Same issue. 5. I noticed it was running really hot and seemed to act up the hotter it got. Replaced the case fans and upgraded from a 120mm to a 360mm liquid cooler. Now the machine is ice cold. And it’s been running great, until today. The lag came back. Not as bad, but it’s there. I’ve had this build for a year and half and only now have these issues. What on Earth could this be????? My setup: Intel 7800X 6 core Gaming 7 X299 Ballistix Sport LT 2666 64GB DDR4 ram MSI Gaming GTX 1060 6GB GPU HP 500gb SSD X 2 HP 120gb SSD X 1 Rosewill 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold

So I am going to upgrade my pc around september this year. But I am left with a choice, I7 7800X or the i7 8700k. So before you say 'you dont need 6 cores go 7700k', no I do some video editing, run servers, photoshop, and other multithread loads. But yes I game a lot as well. My planned setup involves GTX 1080Ti 32Gb ram 360mm aio watercooling (for silent cooling but oc potential) 8700k or 7800x (with respecting motherboard, I like the asus maximus xx hero line not to expensive and nice features and looks) my budget is around 2000 euro's (a bit more if neccesairy) what should I do, wait for the 8700k and benefit from the lower TDP and hopefully better performence then 7800x like the leaked benchmarks suggested. Or go for the 7800x now and pay the extra premium for the motherboard. Side question. Why should Intel make the 8700k perform better then the 7800x, if they follow the pricing that they usually do then the 8700k will be cheaper and perform better then the 7800x. They would effectivly be making there own product obsolete within a year. So.. help

So recently (the past month) i upgraded to the new X299 Platform ;from my obviously inferior i5-4460 to a i7- 7800x 16gb ram. Which i can say for sure has been phenomenal!!! But there has been one major underlining issue. Sometimes when i boot up my pc or when my pc is on, my computer starts lagging and shuddering/ studdering whenever i move my mouse at all.I can type the heck out of my keboard, but if i move my mouse one pixel everything goes to the crapper. This occurs regardless if im using a game application, watching a video on you tube, or simply scroll on task manager. Its very apparent that its having issues. Now ive been checking my usage on my CPU, Memory whenever i move my mouse but there is no noticeable spikes at all. And sometimes killing the windows audio graph isolation process fixes the issue. But still even at this moment, doing that doesn't fix it. Does anybody have any similar problems with this as well? Like as i said before i upgraded i never had an issue, and also this doesn't happen 100% of the time, just at random occasions. I am planning a system upgrade and I decided to get the i7 7800x, i also need to get a new mobo so I found this Gigabyte board (https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16813145033) but when it lists the CPUs it's compatible with it only mentions the i7 7740x and the i5 7640x will it still work with the i7 7800x?

Just had a question for anyone that might have an answer. I have a Cooler Master Nepton 140XL all-in-one closed loop cooler that I bought in 2014, used it on my Z97 gaming rig for ~4.5 years, then upgraded my rig to X299 platform in January of this year (2019). During the upgrade, I noticed my CPU temps were skyrocketing, hitting Tj Max and shutting down the computer. My first troubleshooting step (since the CLC was almost 5 years old and never opened) was to pop open the AIO seal on the cooler, dump out the fluid that came with it from factory, and replace it all with distilled water.I quickly learned that the integrated water pump in the cooler wasn't running properly when connected to a header on the board, so I plugged it into my case's 3-pin fan splitter/hub (running off PSU molex) for non-PWM power (I don't mind my pump running at 100% 24/7, and I think that's exactly what plugging it into a PSU-molex-powered fan hub does, correct me if I'm wrong) With the pump power wired up to the PSU, the temps were fine (not stellar but definitely workable). 9 months later, I'm finally getting into overclocking my 7800X, and I've can get it to run at 4.5GHz, but the temps are eventually hitting 99C. Now my main question is: Is the CM Nepton 140XL simply not beefy enough of a cooler to keep my 7800X @ 4.5GHz cool enough, or could it be possibly clogged up with algae or something because I popped the seal 9 months ago? I know you're not supposed to open the CLCs, I opened mine because I thought enough coolant had evaporated over the years to where it needed to be topped off. Was I wrong? Maybe I added too much water back and it's causing the cooler to operate inefficiently? Also note that I have the radiator fan pulling air through the rad and out the top of the case, pics attached for further detail of cooling setup. Should I try installing the cooler in a different orientation? Maybe change it from pull to push config? Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers, -Bludude4

Hello guys I've been using "X299 TUF mark 1" for about a year and a half now and I've found that the time from power on button until the first screen appears takes about (15) seconds My question is: Is that normal, because it took a shorter time in the past about (8 sec) and I did bios updates several times to no avail Note: I unattached the hard disk and all components and it's still the same time. ________ [Pc Information] Motherboard: TUF X299 MARK 1 Operation System: win 10 pro (64bit) Firmware or BIOS version :3006 [Graphics Card ] msi GTX 1070ti Duke [CPU] intel core i7-7800x [Memory] g.skill trident z (2*8GB )3000mhz [Hard Disk] hdd 1:seagate barracuda 2tb [Optical Drive] Asus DVD-writer x24

Hello, guys! I was wondering if you could help me out with a problem I have! My computer has been acting up since installing an X299 Designare EX motherboard, along with an Intel-i7 7800x. This is the second Designare board I've tried, since I had to RMA the first one due to the same problems along with grounding issues. The CPU, according to my supplier, was tested thoroughly by them and no issues were found. The crashes happens at random, like force quitting Rainbow Six: Siege in task manager (or starting it up). The only constant I've found is when I work with heavy comps, like 4K resolution with lots of particle effects or generally large resolutions with loads of layers. These are the debug codes that the motherboard has provided me with, along with specific moments they've occured:D2 - PCH Initialization Error: When I force quit Rainbow Six: Siege in Task ManagerD4 - PCI Allocation Error: When rendering in After Effects or restarting Windows immediately after I've booted it up. This also happened while I had both Photoshop and After Effects open at the same time, and I was about to brush something onto an image.80 - Reserved for OEM Use: When I've booted up Rainbow Six, reaching the first splash screenWith all these errors, the system hangs and the sound loops rapidly. Event Manager only shows a Kernel Power Error - 41, with no reference - from what I've gathered - about what actually went wrong. These are my specs:CPU: Intel Core i7-7800x PSU: Seasonic SSR-850FX Focus Plus - MSI Geforce GTX 1080 OC Armor (Seated in PCIe_16x lane 1)- Blackmagic Design Decklink Duo 2 (Seated in PCIe_16x lane 5)- 1x Samsung 960 EVO 500GB (seated in the middle M.2 slot, underneath the GPU)- 3x HGST Deskstar 4TB HDD's in RAID 0- 1x Seagate Ironwolf 8TB- 1x Samsung 850 EVO 500GB - 1x Western Digital 500GB 7200rpm- 1x Kingston SSDNow 128GB V 100+ (Not being detected by the system)The RAM, Crucial Ballistix Sport LT, consists of eight 4GB modules, adding up to 32GB RAM. They are all running at the stock speed of 24000Mhz CSM Support is turned off, fast boot in both the BIOS and in Windows. BIOS version is F4c. It's also been tested with- and without overclocking, with OC being done in APP Center with the 4,2Ghz preset. I've also sent this to Gigabyte Support, but they are really slow with processing my ticket. Thanks in advance for all replies and suggestions!

Hey, so i decided to build a gaming rig from ground up with which I will be able to run games, as well as private game servers while playing on them. I have all the external peripherals (Mouse, Keyboard, Headset, Monitor) My planned PC looks as following: Motherboard: - CPU: - CPU Cooler: - (Air cooling) RAM: - GPU: ZOTAC, GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB, AMP Extreme Edition Storage: Samsung 960 EVO 250GB (M.2), Toshiba P300 2TB HDD Power supply: - Bluray drive: - (any recommendations?) Case: Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5 Just for the sake of completeness: Monitor: Acer XF240H, 24" 1920x1080 / 144Hz Headset: Asus Strix 7.1 Mouse: Logitech G403 wired Keyboard: Corsair K70 RAPIDFIRE My question is now, what CPU would you recommend me? I got my eyes on the following: Intel Core i7 7740X - Quadcore Intel Core i7 7800X - Hexacore Intel Core i7 8700K - Hexacore I have to admit, i can't see any downsides of the new 8700K compared to the 7800X except that the 7800X supports 28 PCIe Lanes and the 8700K only 16 (just like the 7740X) as mentioned on Intel's website. Graphiccard wise it shouldn't be a problem but does my M.2 SSD count as a PCIe "user" as well for the processor or is that covered? Because when I take the sum of both I am at a PCIe count of 20... Also what RAM would you recommend me? I think 16GB should be fine but with all the newer games using up to 8GB of RAM is 32GB worth the investment for gaming and hosting a server (sometimes)? If you need any more information/have any questions or would recommend other hardware than listed above feel free to contact me. Thanks for the help in advance!
