Hey there! I'm giving the forum a shot to ask for some help. Some needed context: MOBO: Biostar Racing B550GTQ *CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X *GPU: SAPHIRE Radeon 6600 RAM: XPG Gammix D30 Silver DDR4, 3200MHz, 8GB, Non-ECC, CL16, XMP (4 sticks for a total of 32GB) *PSU: EVGA 500w Bronze (In Trying to cover all my bases, I'll add some misc information about the system) *-4 running argb fans, all connected to MOBO. -CM Hyper212 Cooler -CM q300l case *-OS runs off of a 120GB ssd. *-Additional Storage: 1TB WD Harddrive, 1TB Lenovo Laptop HDD & 1TB Kingston NVME ssd -Stat Screen on inside of PC (A sketchy assembly on my part: Aliexpress stat screen hooked to a usb outlet mooshed on the inside.) *-rgb lightstrips and other decorations made out of literal junk, including old cables (None of these faux cable come in contact with a functioning device). *-PCIE expansion card with 4 USB3.0 ports (receive sata power) An * here: never presented issues before MOBO upgrade As a gamer and digital arts profesional on a tight budget, I decided to take the leap into purchasing gear I could get for work and leisure. Over the course of a year I obtained a *Ryzen 3700x (Unknown provenance, aliexpress unit,), and a *Radeon 6600 Sapphire. Among other upgrades I had wanted to obtain a B550 MOBO with PCIE 4.0 for these new components. As with other components I went with an affordable option, a BIOSTAR B550GTQ Racing MOBO. I make a big emphasis on the MOBO because this strange glitch only began happening after it's instalation. In its previous MOBO (An asrock B320), the PC never encountered this glitch. I'll describe the glitch: Whilst watching youtube videos or playing games a sudden stutter will occur. The video/game will stutter, slowing down. The audio will distort alongside it, making an awful screeching noise. It lasts only a second or two, then it'll stop. It will not happen again until next boot. Other small problems began around this time aswell: -PC won't come back from Sleep Mode. -Internal Monitoring Screen will remain on and displaying frozen data, system wont come back from sleep mode. -Slower Boot time. System will delay significantly in booting windows from ssd. I've investigated and tried several troubleshooting steps. All the way from software issues, to hardware issues. I've changed power performance levels and changed several drivers. I've also obtained a new SSD for boot. Problem persists. My best guesses lie in a couple places: -MOBO being faulty? -PSU causing some sort of undervolting? -Driver issues? My main suspect is the MOBO, although I would very much like to hear people's thoughts. I'll be more than happy to provide any adittional info to anyone who's like to help me out!

Hello! Im looking to upgrade my current PC, I have a i5 4440 + gtx 1070 and a 550w PSU EVGA GD 80 gold, I've been using this PSU for a year and a half. I want to buy a i7 10700 and a 3070, but im kinda scared of the wattage of my current PSU. Will 550w be enough considering its 80 gold certified? (It has 2x 8pin(6+2) pcie connectors as well) Im attaching pictures of the PSU box with some info, if that helps Thanks in advance

So my friend is selling me Fujitsu D3062-A13 motherboard for cheap. I just don't know if it will work with my psu (cooler master GX550W) as fujitsu site says it uses 12V only concept power supply and I have no idea what that means. Could someone confirm if I could use it? ftp://ftp.ts.fujitsu.com/pub/mainboard-oem-sales/products/mainboards/eol/EoL_ClassicDesktop/Datasheets/D3xxx/DS_D3061-A.pdf

Would you guys build me a pc featuring the i3-6100 and the rx 480? thx

Hi all, my old Enermax Revolution87+ 650W just died, no more turning on. this past week his fan was acting weird, making rattling noises, bumping into something internal or the walls maybe(not the grill) and sometimes it would re-balance itself again. But now it doesn't seem to turn on, I don't know if it's because the fan caused it (I was planning to take it apart, remove the fan and use an external one to blow air inside it) or it's simply a coincidence and it just died lol. anyway, given my specs: i5-3570K@1.3v and GTX1070, I thought that maybe 550W should be enough, even if I get the top of the next gen (2020 or later for VR probably) GPUs as of now I'm heavily interested into a Seasonic model, possibly with Hybrid mode so I can minimize the fan usage, I don't play heavy games, 2D, Apex, Titanfall 2, Overwatch etc... and I was wondering if maybe buying an higher Wattage like a 650w means I'll be able to keep the fan still for most of the time(??) also the new lineup isn't much clear of any differences in models aside the 80+ certifications so I'm confused, which one would you reccomend? The budget can be over 100€ as I plan on keeping it till it fails like the last one and probably I won't need to upgrade it in the future. (Just don't go crazy suggesting 200+ models at 1000Watts or silly features like RGB sync and similar stuff) thankss, sorry for any formatting errors or typo but I'm typing from my phone since my pc died

hi, I have 8 years old system with Cooler Master GX 550W psu. My Radeon HD 6850 died recently. Planning to buy Rx 570 4 gb or 1050ti. Issue is that (past 1 month) PSU fan sometimes spin very fast for 2-4 secs & makes noise, I can hear it from another room. I am worried, is it dying, will blow up, motherboard components burn/fail etc ( no warranty left :) . Is it a good time to upgrade my PSU ? I know 1050ti draws less power, but comparatively 570 is better in terms of power. Will be using system for gaming & video rendering (please don't suggest Ryzen or FX 8350, I CAN'T) My specs: phenom ii x4 955 Asus M5a88V Evo Cooler Master GX 550 psu 212 Evo kingston 2x2gb DDR3 1333 1 HDD, 1 SSD, 1 DVDRW

My experience with used graphics card has not been very good to say the least since the r9 280 i bought for around 150$ last year broke down in a month so i need some advice as to buy my new graphics card. My friend is selling his PNY GTX 660 2gb which i can get from him for around 80$. My second option would be to get an Asus GTX 760 2gb from an online retailer for around 110$ which would be less reliable than that above. Or i could get a new box packed GTX 1050 but since any deal here starts at about 175$, it's not at all an option for me. The last option for me, which I've been considering recently, would be an rx 550 2gb which i can get new box packed for around 105$. My budget is at max 115$ and i cannot exceed it. What would be the wisest option to go with considering i only want to do 1080p @60fpsfps gaming.

I am in a budget of less then $100 So I Want a Gpu which can give me a better performance. The only two graphics are coming in the list that's the Rx 550 and GT 1030. But which one will better.

Semi-Modular. Definitely a boon for building and cable management. I would never go non-modular. While full-modular would've been perfect, especially with custom cables, all of that is money I'd rather spend on other parts of my setup. 550 watts. It's plenty. As I've said before, high wattage is overrated. 550 is enough for even a 1080 Ti and video cards will never get hungrier than that. Build Quality. A little bit on the cheap side, but it's not a problem. It functions well. Reliability. I waited 7 months to write this review. So far, it's going quite well. No issues whatsoever. Noise. It ranges from quiet to slightly noisy depending on load. The noise won't be a problem for most PC's; it's still more quiet than many others out there. In my build that focuses on silence, it is the loudest part at full load, but that doesn't say a lot. The most dedicated silent-heads will want another PSU, but most other enthusiasts won't find issue with this power supply. Fan Modding. It uses a non-stand 2-pin fan. I originally gave it a 140mm fan that was hooked up to my motherboard to try to reduce the noise. It worked well for a few months with no problems, but ultimately I decided to just put its original fan back in. I would assume there are bett designed 2-pin fans that would work with it. Good PSU for the money. 7.5/10

So I've recently decided to overclock my GPU, an XFX RX 550, not the best I know. Using MSI Afterburner I originally got an overclock of 1400 MHz on core clock and 1700 MHz on the Memory clock. I realized I was bumping both up at the same time until the game crashed, I was using GTA V as the test for the overclock. I thought maybe I could get some more out the memory clock so I reset the core clock and was bumping up the clock on memory by 50 each time. I've come here to write this post because using Heaven Benchmark I got to 1950 MHz on the memory without the bench crashing immediately. This has the slider in MSI Afterburner maxed out. I have set everything to stock for now as I'm afraid to use this memory clock because I do not want to hurt the card or the VRMs at all. This is all without changing voltage by the way, only the power limit is maxed my card will not let me touch the voltage. So, I've come here to seek help of more experienced overclockers. Is this a safe overclock? Someone with the same card did you get the same? Any feedback helps. PC Specs in case it matters: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 w/ Stock cooler GPU: XFX AMD RX 550 RAM: 6 GB DDR2 MOBO: ASUS M4A77D (Yes I know CPU Bottle Neck and super old. Don't have the money to upgrade at the moment)

Hi, I'm going to start off by saying thank you. I realise this sounds so stupid, but bare with me. I have a Cooler Master Silencio 550 and recently purchased a 240mm rad as I am undertaking a custom loop. I can't fit a 240 rad in the Silencio. Here's the kicker: I knew I couldn't. I bought a 240 rad knowing about the cooling efficiency vs a 120. I understood that I might as well be buying an AIO if I were to get a 120, which people have said will give about 1-2º difference to air coolers, so I thought, well, whats the point? But I digress. Does anyone know of anyway to fit it in until I buy a new case? (I plan on doing this) Any tips? Anyway I could mount it on top (I have rubber grommets on the back) without screwing holes? (I want to sell the case in the future) Thanks for any advice, I realise its so stupid, but this is PC building haha Chris

Hello there, I'm upgrading my old PC and i currently have an: -CPU: AMD fx8350 -MEMORY: 8Gb ddr3 -1TB HDD -(Case: Zalman Z11 hf1 with 5(x120mm)+2(x80mm)fan) All what i need a GPU and a PSU... So the GPU what i want is a: - Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming (4gb) or - Sapphire R9 380 Nitro (4gb) What kind a PSU can turn this machine on? it will be fine with an 550W? or i need a larger, 650W? I'll check some for example: -FSP Raider 550W -FSP Raider 650W -EVGA Supernova G2 550W -EVGA Supernova G2 650W What am i need? Thank you in advance!

Hey guys, I'm putting together a new build for my friend. Right now he is on the verge of purchasing a PS4, but I'm trying to get him to try PC gaming. His budget is $580 max, but rather wants $550. Here is the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wkDYZL He wants something that he could upgrade in the future, which is why I put a 1150 socket motherboard in his build. In addition, he also wanted something that could run GTA V very well, which is why I did a i5 processor. PS:He was about to get an Alienware Alpha, before I stopped him.

I'm having a very strange problem here with my graphics card. It's a Nvidia GTX 550 TI. The voltage before on idle state was something like 0.95V, I think, but now does not drop from 1.09V anymore, even idle. I tried first remove the card and cleaned all dust from heatsink and fan. Nothing has changed. So I tried to replace the thermal compound and.. nothing changed. Well, I still able to play normally with the card, I dont think that is a hardware error. So now I tried to reinstall the driver. I downloaded from Nvidia, beginning to install and error: The setup continues to install the Nvidia software, but I think that is something wrong on driver install. I dont know what is wrong with it. I notice that I can't also see the Perfomance tab, on NVidia Control Panel: Other thing that I notice was that while it's was installing drivers, at some point the voltage from GPU dropped to 0.95V, and the HWMonitor registered it. I think that something can be wrong on driver, or a least something in software, does not seems to be something with hardware. However, my OS is working fine, without any issues. I also after that tried install older driver versions, nothing changed, same problem.

Hey, I'm looking into buying an AIO water-cooling loop and I've stumbled across a few. First: Some basics: Silencio 550 case-I believe it only supports a single 120mm rad. LGA1150 socket-4790k. Second: What AIO would you recommend? Third: H80i vs H80i GT Fourth (& Final): How does the t12 from Fractal Design stack up against the competition? Thanks for all your help, appreciate it. Just give me a few names and a reason, why you recommend it.
