Hello everyone, I've never used a forum before as I can usually figure things out on my own. Recently though, I've had a random audio crackle/pop (just one every now and then) and for me it's unbearable knowing something's wrong. I've tried everything I can think of, going as far as replacing my MOBO thinking it was an onboard audio jack issue. I got a new case as well as I use the front audio jack for my earbuds. I also just bought new earbuds and this has not worked, the issue continues. If you have any questions please let me know. Any help is appreciated. System specs: - MSI B550 MAG TOMAHAWK - RYZEN 7 5800X3D - CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO RGB 2X16GB CL18 3600MHZ - ASUS TUF 4070TI OC - MSI MPG A850G 850W GOLD Please let me know of any other specs you'd think would matter.

I just bought Logitech z906. I tried to connect to a 5.1 channel. Windows is only recognizing it as a stereo speaker. If I configure it as 5.1 center Chanel and back Chanel is so low, also I can hear front speaker when I try to play the rear speaker.

Hi all, I've been going through my old electronics detritus lately, and happened to come across this: The connector is a standard-looking 3.5mm, and the right end is a smooth, shiny plastic dome. On the other side of the dome is some 3M adhesive. And I have no idea what it is. I tried it in both the microphone and headphone jacks on my computer with no results. Any ideas?

Hey, so I have a Speaker supporting Micro SD Cards (TF Card) as well as an AUX Input. So, can I convert this AUX in port to an AUX Out port so that I could connect another speaker and play them both simultaneously with a TF Card and and Aux Cable. Is it possible to do so?

I'm in the market for some new headphones so looking for some recommendations. They will be mostly used for gaming but occasionally music and voice chat also. I don't need a mic build in as I have a Elgato Wave 3 They need to be 3.5mm jack so I can plug them into the back of the Wave 3 I am not worried about RGB. Its not a deal breaker either way. Ideally if possible I would like wireless headphones with a charging base station. USB dongle is no use as I want to connect them via the Wave 3 so would need 3.5mm connection from base station. If its not possible with wireless using 3.5mm then wired is fine. What do you recommend ?

Hi guys I have 2 earbuds one type c and one 3.55 but these with type c port are better quality, so I am trying to test if I can cut the 3.55mm jack from other earbuds and cut the type c and tinker the cables from 3.5mm to the earbuds that had type c (short-I want to change jack type c to 3.5mm without a dongle or replacing earbuds ) Im asking if its possible.

I am interested in buying the 'Creative Stage soundbar' for my gaming pc. I need some information regarding the connectivity/compatibility of these speakers with a gaming motherboard. I'm using a msi b360 pro vdh mobo which delivers a very good quality HDMI audio (I'm using a wired speaker currently having a 3.5mm jack) I can see that the speaker package doesn't include an aux cable to connect the speakers to the motherboard/computer (my mobo doesn't support Bluetooth). If i purchase an aux cable separately and use it with the speakers will the sound quality be as expected ? Specifications of the aux cable that i'm planning to purchase for this device- 1. Stereo 3.5-millimeter audio auxiliary cable , male to male 2. Audio High transfer speeds up to 1000 Mbps 3. Made by Honeywell.

Hello, Figure'd I'd ask people here, before I just search Amazon and find a random pair to statisfy my needs... I'm looking for a wireless headset that connects via 3.5mm audio jack to a PC. Not looking for anything high end, just something, I can use to listen to music while at work. Currently I have a basic Samsung wired earbud pair, but I'm finding that the cable get's in the way of my keyboard. So does anyone have any brand recommendations, or know if such a product even exists. Blu-tooth, may work, but idk if my work PC has blu-tooth on it... Budget will be around $30 - $40 CAD. Edit: Just realized I posted this into the wrong sub-forum, I apologize. If a mod or Admin could move it for me, that would be appreciated.

I bought an HDMI to DVI and 3.5 mm audio jack converter (little square box, power in, HDMI in, DVI out and audio out) and the video works just fine, however the audio does not work and doesn't even show up in "playback devices" in Windows (I'm running it through a GTX 750) When I plug headphones into it, I do hear a pop, so it is powered, but not producing sound. What do I do? The thing was 20 bucks!

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TPA3116-amplifier-board-24VDC-TPA3116-amplifier-4-1-channel-class-D-4-50W-100W/32643807536.html I linked an amp I'm looking at for my speaker setup. If you take a closer look at one of the pictures, the input is a white 3 pin connection that is near the potentiometers (it looks like a 3 pin fan header). How do i go from 3.5mm to that connection? Also, on a side note, the sub out is 100w, does that mean I would need a passive subwoofer?

Hi all! I recently bought a Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On Ear. I really love it but if possible I would like to convert the cable (4 pole to 2x 3 pole) to use it with my PC for skype calls and such. I searched all around the internet for it and I thought to myself. Do these things actually exist?? If any of you has a answer please let me know! Thanks, Timmyethy123

Hi again and sorry for my terrible english. I know, I know this is an old question but im new with desktop pc ( I play years with gaming laptops), so I read on a lot of forums about the 3.5mm audio headsets and the usb 5.1 or 7.1 headsets, some people say with a good audio card the 3.5mm its better and other says the USB are more powefull. My MOBO have an good audio card ( ASUS MAXIMUS IMPACT VII https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-IMPACT/ ) or so it says on the website. So can this sound card can defeat a good 7.1 headset?

Hi Everyone, Just curious but my pair of headphones have a 6.35mm jack by default and it came along with a 3.5mm converter/adapter that I use all the time. I was looking up DACs and saw 6.35mm as an option. Is there a difference in terms of output for audio quality ? Does it matter? Just wondering if anyone out there would know because I genuinely have no idea what a 6.35mm jack is for and why anyone would need it for a pair of headphones. Please enlighten my scrubby-ness!

So I am new here. Started watching linus for about 4 months or so. I am very confused why there are no Apple 3.5mm Headset splitters out there. Over the years I have bought dozens of cable splitters only to be disappointed. One thing all the splitters have in common is that they all work with samsung or android headsets I have. This is both a cry for help and a puzzling question. If anyone know of such cable please let me know.

I'm doing a film shoot in the city with some boom mics. I originally thought that a port on my camera (Canon EOS 7D) was some sort of audio out (like a 'mini' XLR or proprietary). The only way I can think of to monitor the audio is to intercept the signal before it gets to the mic jack. Is this a thing? Could someone point me in the right direction? Shooting the film in about a week and a half. Thank you!

Hello there. So i have kind of a complicated problem. I have multiple audio sources and outputs, all an other connection that i want to connect to 1 compact, low budget switch, that is available in Belgium and has a EU power adapter. I don't wanna do any funky adapter things like: "optical audio to L&R (those red and white cables.. don't know what they are called) and then to a 3.5mm jack" I also wanna be able to control my headset from there. I'd like it if there is only one optical audio and one 3.5mm mic jack going to my pc. Not 3 cables Outputs: I have 1 Razer leviathan, that i want to run of an optical audio cable. I also have one headset that uses mic and audio 3.5mm jacks. another thing that i need is again 3.5mm cable to go to my bed. And as last i want to have some wiggleroom so atleast 2 extra outputs. Preferably 1 3.5mm and 1 optical audio So 1(+1) optical audio port(s) and 2(+1) 3.5mm audio jacks Inputs: First my computer that is connected by optical audio. My wii u, apple TV and ps2 are also optical audio. I also need 1 3.5mm audio jack for the Amazon Echo Dot That counts 2x optical audio and 1 3.5mm So this is a really complicated problem and i really hope there is a switch on the market that can do all of that out of the box with no funny DIY stuff. PS: Sorry for my english spelling mistakes if i made some -TechDerp

I have a pair of over ears I like and use frequently, except there's one catch. For a long time, the only thing I had to listen to music was an iPod, then an iPhone 4s my friend gave to me that I still use to this day because my headphones only control iDevices. I've recently upgraded from an old slide phone to an old Galaxy S4, is there any nice high quality 3.5 cable that will control android? I've seen a few basic ones around, but they're expensive, not great, and don't have many functions. The cable I have now will answer, hang up, play, pause, volume, skip forward, FFWD, skip back, reverse, but most android ones I've seen only do basic volume or call handling. I've found these, which do everything but FFWD and Reverse, which I never used anyways, but they're rather expensive and I'm not sure what the quality will be like. https://www.jaysheadphones.com/accessories And help or discussion would be appreciated.

Hey, I'm brand new to the forums, so I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong section, or am missing something in making this. I've always heard LTT forums were a great place to look for tech advice, and as such am looking for recommendations. I'm looking for a 3.5mm wireless transmitter and receiver, and have been unable to find one fitting my criteria. I don't need anything large or fancy. I'm just looking to use to M50x's from my bed, connected to my computer, without getting an offensively long cable. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I have recently started using Synergy to share my souse and keyboard between my Mac Mini and my main desktop PC. However, it has become quite annoying that I can't share my PC's headphones/microphone with the Mac. I know almost nothing about audio and the hardware that goes with it. So, here's what I'm looking for: Sound Input from Microphone (USB) split between two cables (either USB or 3.5mm) to be sent to computers Sound Output from Mac (3.5mm) mixed with output from PC (Either 3.5mm or USB) to be sent to headphones (Preferably USB but 3.5mm is acceptable) Notes: I am not an audiophile. I don't care all that much about quality, I just want a reasonable experience with my HyperX Cloud II headset and AT2020 USB microphone. Thanks!

Hey LTT Forums!! i've recently been encountered a problem where the in built microphone from my Razer Kraken Pro (V1) was not being detected by my laptop which is a Lenovo Z50-70 before this I've used the headphones numerous times and encountered this problem once but got through it (I don't remember how) when I plug my headphones into the 3.5mm jack (only one) it has playback from the headphones but my mic doesn't get detected I went into audio devices and the only thing that's there under recording devices is Contextant Smartaudio HD which is my onboard sound controller when I test it. audio gets picked up from the mic on the laptop I tried uninstalling the contestant drivers and reinstalling it but no avail one forum said to rollback drivers but the option was not available I updated Razer synapse too and reset the voice settings for discord pls help! Thanks!

Hello LTT Forums! I just got ahold of the Senn HAD 598Cs and would like to use them for gaming. I know about the modmic, but like the approach of the V-Moda BoomPro more. Is there an alternative that works with Sennheisers 2.5mm input jack on the cans? Thanks, Hill

So I have a pair of Bose Companion 2 desktop speakers with two stereo RCA inputs (red and white), I have my computer, and chromecast connected, but also wanted to connect my amazon echo dot. I tried purchasing a dual male 3.5mm to single female 3.5mm adapter (I currently have two rca to 3.5mm male plugged into my 2 inputs on my speaker), but it turned out to be a mic + headphone to 4 pole jack adapter. Does anyone have any suggestions and preferably amazon linking with any solution? I tried finding stereo rca to dual 3.5mm male, but I could not find any. I'm not planning on playing them at the same time, so a passive adapter would be fine. Thanks (EDIT: Here is the link to my speakers for reference https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Companion-Multimedia-Speaker-System/dp/B000HZDF8W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480309740&sr=8-2&keywords=bose+companion+2)
