Yesterday I tried setting my 260x to run at 100% clock speeds at all time because I was having some FPS issues. I did this by setting the unofficial overclocking mode in MSI Afterburner to "Without PowerPlay support" and it did the job. Now however I set it back to "disabled", yet the clock speeds are still stuck at 100%. And now I can't change them at all, not manually or by changing the profile. I can change the memory clock manually, but not the core clock. Help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I own 2 Gpus a Gtx 465 and a R7 260x, Im stating this because i will be talking about them quite often. My true problem is that my r7 260x can now only boot when my cpu is at stock voltage. Ive had voltage problems with this card since i got it and i still dont understand why as my GTX 465 works just fine. My pc will boot up fine and work but my screen wont show if i have my cpu voltage even .01 volts over stock this problem makes me quite angry because it worked just fine for a while and now it does not and i still dont understand why. if i pop my 465 in on one of the overclocks that messes it up the 465 works just fine. Also XFX support Sucks and they told me that the card had nothing to do with my problem and it was all my cpu when it obviously isnt as the 465 has a higher TDP

So I have an r7 260x sapphire gpu (has no UEFI GOP VBIOS) and I was actively researching month ago on how to install my OS in UEFI mode, but I didn't find out anything. My interest was forgotten until last week I reinstalled my Windows from scratch, and I succeeded to install it in - apparently - UEFI mode (according to System Information). I checked it and if I turn CSM off it still fails to boot. What I'm curious about is what is the purpose of the entire CSM thing, and what is happening when CSM is activated? What crazy combination of UEFI and BIOS is going on in my PC?

So, in another topic, I was talking about making my own server and such, and I decided the best chip to go with would be the amd athlon x4 860k (over the pentium I was offered). I need to couple it with a dGPU (I was going to anyway...), and I found two that are in my price-range. I kinda didn't go to far beyond the realm of 2013, so gtx 600 series and radeon hd weren't quite as looked through... And after looking at the gtx 750's pricing, I just said to heck with it. I'm going to keep choices down to 2. Anyway, I am looking at a refurbished sapphire r7 260x (1GB GDDR5) and a new powercolor r7 250x (2GB GDDR5 <-- very important to take note of). The Sapphire is more expensive at $15 (after rebate), which made me wonder, is it really all that much better? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202130 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131662 Experience or just speculation is welcomed. I also want to buy this thing soon, so I can catch the rebate it I do end up picking the 250x. Thnx in advance. --robinspi

A friend of mine is still running an ATI 5670 1GB. I Have been given a R7 260x 1GB DDR5 which i plan on giving to him, would he see much of a difference between these cards?

So I have an XFX R7 260x and it's a great little GPU for what I need (although I'm considering an upgrade but w/e) but my only fault with it is that the fan seems to go crazy whenever I do anything, whatever the temps are. I've changed the fan curve which basically makes fuck all difference because the fan just ramps up at 100% load no matter what the temps or fan curve is. The fan curve works up until gaming and then it just says "fuck it, let's put the fan at 50%", which is incredibly loud on this card. See screenshot below for fan curve!

As the title says all, I want to select one of them to run with core i3-4150 and gigabyte h81 motherboard. I need less power and more performance. Please mention brand name also.

Hello, I have been wanting to upgrade my graphics card for a while now but I don't know what would be the way of doing it. I know a lot of people say its better to have card over two but the difference for me would almost $200. This would be my time having potential dual graphics cards and wanted some advice from people who know a lot better than me. To start I currently have a 260x as my graphics card and was consider just buying the same card or maybe selling it and then buying a gtx 970. My main question is which one would be faster and then what would be the performance difference between them. Also would I need a monitor with two dvi or hdmi ports on it to run dual graphics?

Hi, I recently purchased a Sapphire R7-260X Graphics Card, and put it in my system. The first time it booted, I was able to get into windows (8.1) and I went to AMD's site and downloaded the latest drivers. After installing, it told me to restart the computer, which I did. When the computer restarted, the W8 loading icon came up and then the screen went black. When I clicked my mouse, I could see the mouse icon for about 2 seconds and then it went black again. I then tried uninstalling my card and put the DVI port in the integrated graphics IO, then booting back into windows. I then uninstalled the downloaded drivers and put in the Driver Installation CD from Sapphire. After it installed, I put the card back in, but when I booted it the same thing happened. My card is definitely installed properly, as I was able to boot from it the first time, and I think this may be a driver issue from AMD. I'm not sure if I should try installing older drivers from AMD. On newegg, people have similar problems with this card, but most of them are actually able to boot into Windows. Link to the card: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1226&pid=2376&psn=&lid=1&leg=0 Thanks in advance for your help, KillerVolt The rest of my system specs (in case there is a problem with compatability): Intel i5-4440 ASUS B85M-E Samsung 840EVO 120GB 8GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHZ Thermaltake 500W OEM PSU

Hey guys, I need some input for a budget build that I'm making for a friend. Here are the specs: CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 3.6GHz Dual-Core Processor ($129.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Kingston 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($39.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($50.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R7 260X 1GB TurboDuo Video Card ($77.98 @ Newegg) Total: $380.92 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/V298zy And things I didn't find on pcpartpicker but are available in my country: + Some generic case + Cooler Master B2 Series 600W PSU (http://eu.coolermaster.com/uk/powersupply/office-home/b600ver2/) - Doesn't need a windows. Now, his budget is 440 euros but don't compare that to pcpartpicker price because he can't get it that cheep here and I couldn't cram anything more in that price point. Purpose of this PC will be some light gaming as Diablo 3, LOL, DOTA 2, Skyrim and probably some other titles that he decides to try and some programming, browsing and regular stuff. I think he will be playing on a resolution of 1024x768 as he has one of those old square LCD monitors so I'm guessing it doesn't go much higher than that. I went for that Motherboard and a 600W PSU because he will be expanding that build down the line. Also, he won't be doing any overclocking. I am most interested for your input on that motherboard and PSU. Thank you for for your time.

Hey forum! I'm planning on putting an R7 260X in my current build, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which brand/model to buy. Preferably something with 2GB of memory that runs cool and has some room for overclocking.

I just got my second card from NCIX. Both have had the problem where when I install it and plug my hdmi in, my monitor won't detect it. I have used multiple cords and displays. Disabled my iGPU and made sure i was using the right psu. Please help. Should I do a fresh install of windows?

Hey, I am currently looking into building a rig around a AMD Radeon 270x. I am also planning to use a X4 750k as the processor. With this setup what kind of performance would I get on BF4 at 1080p ?(AA off) As well, will the cpu hold back the gpu's performance? I am willing to pay $120ish for a cpu, what are some of the best for this price range? Thanks! **EDIT** 260x, rather than 270.

I'm having an issue where after waking my PC from sleep, my GPU core clock will lock at 300 mhz, and the memory clock will lock at it's maximum of 1800. games are unplayable. I'm using afterburner to view it. Reinstalling the drivers works temporarily, but it always comes back. I have no idea what is causing it, it worked fine for about a week until today when it suddenly came back when I tried to play Battlefield 4. Any help would be appreciated. I'd also like to note that my PC is really picky about when it likes to sleep, sometimes I have to manually put it into hibernate mode, and even then it sometimes wakes up on it's own with no explanation.

So I just picked up the XFX R7 260x Double D core edition from BestBuy. My brother recently purchased the XFX Black Edition 7850 from the same store. I went to redeem my code on their website, which involves registering the product, so on and so forth. When I came to the screen where I enter my "PERSONAL ACTIVATION SCREEN" I noticed that it says that I need to mail in the UPC along with a print out form. Yeah, I don't own a printer. My brother did not have to mail anything in, I'm wondering If I have gone to the wrong thing or something, if so why would this go backwards? This is the 21st century, why are mail in rebates still a thing. If anyone knows a way around this, I'd be glad to know. Otherwise I'll be calling XFX tomorrow to see what can be done. I love the card BTW, overclocked so easy, getting better FPS than my brothers 7850 on HIGH settings, I think that has to do with more VRAM though, not sure what the deal there is.

I'm looking replace my XFX Radeon HD 7770. I'm trying to figure out whether it would be better to Crossfire the 260x or 270x, or just buy a single 280x. My question about Crossfire is: Does Crossfiring two cards mean you get almost exactly double the performance of only having one card? For example, say the 260x gets 20 FPS on Far Cry 3 at Ultra 1080p. Will dual-260x's bring that up to 40 FPS, give or take an FPS or two? I might be able to stretch my GPU budget to $300, but $200 is the most I'd like to spend at one time. Would the 260x be able to Crossfire with only a 600W Cooler Master Silent Pro M or am I gonna need a beefier PSU? What about the 270x? I'm running with an i5-3570 (no-K, the CPU was donated to me and the guy forgot the K, oh well) and 8 GB RAM at the moment. As far as Crossfiring 280x's go, that is way out of my budget, so I'm not even considering it. Hope this made sense to someone.

So here is the problem. I bought a Gigabyte R7 260X 2GB a few months back. I picked it up for $140 so it was a great deal and I am quite satisfied with my purchase, but the thing is I want a faster card. but I don't have the cash. I thought about selling my R7 260X but no one wants to buy it. Even for $90 on ebay. (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/261541379839?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649) I have even listed it quite a few times. I can't afford something like a r9 270x rights now. So I am thinking about buying a 2nd r7 260x. I am just wondering what type of performance to see. Is there bad stuttering or lag? I play BF4, and plan on picking up far cry 4 and GTA V eventually. Besides that I don't play that demanding games. Just stuff like CS: Source, GMOD, Dota 2, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Is it worth it at all to crossfire them?
