Built a computer for a relative a while back. GPU is Radeon RX 570 8GT OC and CPU is Ryzen 5 2600. (1 m.2 drive, and 1 tb hdd drive) We originally had issues I believe due to a faulty motherboard (AsRock). We then switched to Asus TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard and still had some issues to which it was suggested that the PSU we were using at the time wasn't enough power for the system. I believe we were using 500w PSU? The last upgrade I got him for the PSU was a 600w Corsair which I believe to be enough for his build? Ever since I made these two corrections all his issues seemed to stop. There are no more BSOD anymore, the computer doesn't randomly shut off anymore BUT, I still have a few concerns. He is still running a stock cooler on the CPU so I understand that it can have thermal issues. (Mind you I removed the prepaste and used Artic Silver instead) I believe the CPU idles around 40c? The only problem is that, as far as I can tell, the GPU Fans NEVER turn on. I can't even force them to turn on with separate programs like MSI Afterburner or AMD Adrenaline. I am not sure if the card has some kind of built in ambient temp and will only turn on as needed but I have never seen the GPU fans turn on once. Not even while gaming but, at least the computer isn't shutting down anymore. I would assume if it was too hot it would shut down? But I do recall his GPU to be around 80 - 93c while gaming? It has been a while since I have tested his PC and it is difficult for me to trouble shoot through TeamVeiwer as I don't live in the area anymore. From all the reviews I've seen, the RX 570 paired with the Ryzen 2600 should be able to smash most games at 1080p. But to me it seems like he consistently gets low FPS. Destiny 2 for example, I hear Destiny 2 is not optimized well, but even my GTX 780 could get 60fps with High settings. While my relative's build barely manages 30 - 45fps with low - medium settings. So, any thoughts? I have tried everything I can think of. I feel like, either the PSU still isn't enough, or perhaps the GPU card is just bad? It "works," I just don't think it performs as it should be. Thank you.

I'm super confused with 3100 & 2600, some say 3100 is better for video editing in adobe premiere & others suggest 2600 is way better for having more cores & threads, anyway all i care about is to add more filter, effects and overall a good editing experience rather than faster rendering time

I want to buy a 1650 Super (not planing to overclock it). I've seen that Ryzen 5 1600 and 1650 Super produce 0.002 GPU bottleneck. If I buy Ryzen 5 2600 and 1650 Super, which have 5.91% GPU bottleneck, will it perform the same as having Ryzen 5 2600? Ryzen 5 2600 has more ghz than 1600. -
Can someone please guide me on which CPU I should get for my new build. The 2600 is available for around $139 USD in my country and the 3500x is around $158. I'm really confused between the two. I mainly want to be gaming but I also run a lot of applications in the background and the CPU usage for the 2600 is a lot lower then that of the 3500x.

Good afternoon! 6 months ago I received my 3070 and I feel that something wrong is not right. I'm not getting the performance I expected or believed I would. Before the 3070 I had a 1660 ti where the performance was equal or even better in certain games. My build consists of: [ICODE]Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Hexa-Core 3.4GHz w/ Turbo 3.9GHz Motherboard: Micro-ATX ASUS EX-A320M-GAMING RAM memory: G.SKILL Aegis 8GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3000MHz CL16 Graphics Card: MSI GeForce® RTX 3070 VENTUS 3X OC 8G HDD/SSD: 1 SSD M.2 1TB + 1 SATA 250GB SSD + 2 HDD 1TB Source (PSU): BitFenix Whisper M 750W 80+ Gold Cooling: AMD Wraith Stealth Operating System: Windows 10 Pro[/ICODE] Monitor Specs: [ICODE]1440p 165Hz[/ICODE] My first guess would be from the CPU bottleneck. But after watching some videos of a build similar to mine (CPU and GPU) with better results. Leaves to question the RAM or even another defective component. However, with the 3070 upgrade underway I was forced to upgrade my PSU from 430w to 750w. After switching to the new PSU some problems arose. First day, Windows only detected a RAM stick. I turned off the computer and swapped one stick slot for the other and it was OK. The next day the computer started beeping that indicated it had no GPU. I turned off the computer, took it out and put the GPU back in the same slot (still 1660 ti at the time) With this, I soon began to doubt the stability of my Motherboard. Today, 6 months later, I don't know if something is really damaged causing general instability, therefore worse performance. But not other problems happened since. Hi, i want to update my bios to the newest version because i want to update my cpu from a 2600 to a 5800x3d My current bios version is F2 and i want to update to F63d Is it possible to update it in one go or do i need to do incremental updates? Hi everyone I have searched everywhere amd couldnt find a ligit answer to my question. Currently i have the below specs R5 2600 3080 eagle 16 gig ram The problem i have when playing league of legends and warzone on 1080p, it seems my rig struggles to hold 120 fps. In league of legends i get 90 fps and warzone my frames drop to 80 and some cases 70 and bearly get higher than 120. I cant see a bottleneck happening and if the 2600 ryzen isnt strong enough surely i should still be able to hit 160 fps. I had a 5700xt and i could reach easly higher frames 144+ in these game tittles Thanks for the help on this.

Hi, so I'm planning to build a PC for $1300 NZD, which is about $780 USD. The main specs: GTX 1650 SUPER 2 x 8GB 3200MHz 550W Cooler Master MWE (BRONZE) So, basically I'm just wondering if I should get the 9400f or 2600. They are the same price in NZ ($240 NZD which is $144 USD). I'm obviously going to be gaming. But, I'm going to be working on Virtual Machines, media browsing and other stuff (stuff being very normal and not super extensive work). Thanks in advance

Hi, guys I'm planning to buy Proc = Ryzen 2600 MB = ASROCK B450M Steel Legend But i got confused in choosing the RAM Compatibility, RAM = Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 2x8gb 3000mhz or Team Dark Z Alpha 2x8gb 3200 mhz both RAM price about the same (~$90) But when i look at the Asrock Motherboard RAM list it didn't list those RAM (https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M%20Steel%20Legend/#MemoryPR) Or should i buy something else? Hi I have Ryzen 5 2600 and my particular CPU hits an all core boost of 3.68 Ghz. Not a silicone lottery winner for sure! But, I was thinking, what if I disable two cores, and then Overclock it to 4.2 Ghz. Will that be possible? Cuz I play this old game that mostly use two or three cores at max... I just want to confirm if this kinda of Overclock is possible or not? Cheers!

So, you might remember me as the guy who comes up with random ideas that dont quite make sense logically but would be cool if they worked. the latter part of that statement is back again, this time in the form of an Atari 2600. so, i was surfing craig- wait, you dont care how i came up with the idea! so here is the idea itself: turn an old Atari 2600 Console into a light, portable, computer. it would have to use microATX form factor, or something close to that. the GPU would most likely have to be routed flat against the motherboard to fit, and the Console itself would have to be modded to fit the ports and on switch. here is the parts list for this idea: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mWhfNN (the name is Atari + windows, Ataros!) the machine itself would work like a console, be plugged into a display of sorts and work just like a desktop, but it would (hopefully) be light and portable, for use at any setting. also it would be awesome. it would have RGB strips underneath for effect, and vents would be drilled into the sides for airflow! PROBLEM: my only fear is the power supply. i have measured and re-measured the dimensions of the Atari 2600 against the dimensions of the motherboard & gpu and they all fit, but i am afraid that the PSU will not, because quite frankly it is larger than the console itself! SOLUTION: oh also i thought about having a custom-made case, but with my lack of skills in welding or craftsmanship i figure it would be best to let a professional make it, but i dont know of any companies that would do this sort of thing... Hello, I currently have i5 2500k OC to 4.3Ghz with a hyper 212x cooler and 980ti G1 Gaming I game at 4k mainly one a 60hz monitor. I usually get the frames i want so am happy with that. Getting extra frames would be nice too, i just dont want to lose any. I also do video editing on it so going extra cores would help a lot too. I am debating upgrading to a ryzen 5 1600. But this would cost me around $750 NZD to upgrade. My other option is getting a cheap i7 2600 that i can overclok up to 4ghz. I know the non K skus dont go any higher no matter what. Will i be losing frames do you reckon with this. Is it worth the upgrade? Cost around $75 NZD Or can find 2600k , Cost $150 NZD. or maybe a ivy bridge i7 .. but will be more. This is all in order to keep my z68 motherboard. and yes i will be keeping a look out for other used hardware but thats all thats available at this moment. so to recap : R5 1600 inc mobo and 16gb ram = $750 i7 2600 = $75 i7 2600k = $150 Any advice would be awesome. Please back up opinions more than just because its newer or because its AMD / Intel

Hi guys, I just upgrade my old FX build to the new Ryzen platform, I see amazing performance gains and everything. But also a rise in temps. I've tested GTA V for a couple of minutes and the cpu hit a max of 74 degrees celcius. I've looked around the internet and didn't really find answers. I'm just wondering what normal temperatures are for the stock cooler. I have no intent on overclocking or anything btw. My average temps are around the 40s to 50s according to Core Temp when I'm just in Windows and not doing anything intense. I just want to make sure that these temps are okay so I have ease of mind, thanks in advance people!

Specs: Ryzen 5 2600 @ stock settings ASUS STRIX B450-F MoBo 4x4GB HyperX DDR4 @2666 MHz Sapphire Nitro+ RX480 8GB EVGA Supernova 650 G2 80 Gold PSU I recently decided to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 2600 build, from an I5-6500. Installation went smoothly, but it wouldn't post. Troubleshooting LEDs indicated an issue with the RAM. Trying a single stick in A2, it was able to post and boot into Windows. I've tried all 4 sticks individually and they all work, and I am also able to use a second stick in B2 for a total of 8GB (2x4GB). However, I would like to use all 4 sticks if possible. Here is the following I have tried to fix this issue: I tried removing and reinstalling the CPU, and checking for any bent pins, which there weren't. Removing the CMOS battery. Updating the bios and chipset What else can I try, or is there some compatibility issue? Thanks -

Hi. I use my PC mainly for web browsing, light office work and a bit of 1080p gaming. I have had this system, i5 2500K@ 4GHz + GTX 670 for many, many years. I just got a Sapphire RX 580 really cheap on eBay. Final cost after selling my 670, only £70. Bargain!. Just thinking of changing the mighty 2500K (what an amazing CPU) but wondering if it will be worth it since it will involve a new mobo, CPU and RAM. I can get a Ryzen 2600 bundle for around £280. Bit too much for just a few extra fps? Single thread performance does not seem much higher than my current CPU. Or a Ryzen 3600 bundle for £360. Overkill for a rx580? So for no multitasking, no streaming, is the 2500K @4GHz still good enough for this GPU? All the benchmarks I see online use £1000 or over GPUs to show how mighty the new Ryzen processors are, but that is not a real world test, at least in my case. I think most games will be limited by the RX580 rather than the CPU. Or at least not limited enough to justify a £300 expense. I have tried Total War Three Kingdoms, Metro Exodus and Plague's Tale so far and it runs quite well. Much better than the 670. Maybe that is all I needed? Thanks -
Hi, i just overclocked my ryzen 2600 to 4ghz and i got it stable at 1.26 volts, But for some reazon my cpu is now pined to 4ghz at all times even at idle. Is this normal and if not what can i do to fix it?

Hey So I was thinking about upgrading my cpu and mobo. Currently - MSI B450-M Gaming Plus + Ryzen 5 2600 Thing is, I don't think I need the upgrade to Zen 2 as of now, and all of Intels products carry a huge premium (mobo, cooler). Rest of the Specs - 16Gb 2933Mhz C15 Ram and GTX 1080 2100Mhz Ryzen 3000 is better than my current chip but were talking about cpu performance increases which only give ~20% frames increase max on avg. For that, its not worth the price right? My idea now is to wait to see what Intel comes up with in response next year and get that. I can hope that they will be cheaper because of the competition and faster than AMD as we already see right? What are your thoughts on this? Will Intel's next lineup be the right choice? Will their "intel premium" be reduced because of the competition? Can we hope for AMD to beat them in gaming performance or will Intel never be dethroned? Could use your opinions and thoughts on this to further my understanding. Thank you!

RAM is in the primary slots. His PSU brand is unknown, but it's a 600W gold plus . Also not sure of the brand of HDD either. Just chose items withe the same specs listed on the PO. Things we tried. >Reinstall nvidia driver w/ddu= nope >Reinstall windows= nope >update all drivers & bios (windows & 3rd party=nope >check bios settings & dram timings= all looks good. >reinstalled all games=nope >run games in admin=nope >lower graphics settings=nope >ran sfc scan=nope. The weird thing is, I swapped my trident z 3200 cl14 in his , adjusted timings( d.o.c.p) and everything seems to run perfectly. No crashing. I put the corsair in mine (home built) w/ Asus maximus hero wifi. Seems to work fine, no video card yet so can't test gamesbut p95, memtest & cinebench pass just fine. The corsair RAM he received is listed on the ASUS QVL list, Mine is not. Does anyone have any idea what would be the problem. Should he pay the shipping$50 and send it back for warranty? Just buy new ram? Or is there something else?

Anybody try undervolting a 2600. I got mine running at 0.8625V at 3.2GHz. 53 degrees with Prime95 small FFTs with stock cooler.

Hey all, it's that time of year where I need some upgrade advice from the experts. After recently finishing Control and now playing through Borderlands 3 and the MW beta, I just feel that my PC isn't giving me the gaming experience that I want. Currently I have a i5 4690k on a ASUS H-97 Plus motherboard and that is paired up with a 1070. Right now, I want to hit at least 100fps@1440p while gaming on High (have no problem with lowering some settings). I'm really interested in the 2600 at it's amazing price point but I don't know if that would be a step backwards for my build or essentially if I would just be getting the same exact performance as I was with my 4690k? Would it be worth ponying up the $60 and going with the 3600? I don't plan on doing any extreme overclocking on any CPU i purchase outside of minimal tweaks (newb overclocker). I don't want to break the bank if I don't have to, but I would if you guys told me the 3600 is going to be a better investment over the 2600. If it helps, the games I play most are Apex, BFV, and the big AAA games (right now that would be Control, Borderlands 3, and MW Beta). Thanks for any advice! -

Hello, this is my first post here. I am trying to decide on either a Ryzen 5 2600 or a Ryzen 7 1700x. From my research, the 2600 has a faster core clock. Also, game favor faster core clocks over multi core performance. So, the debate boils down to, are the two extra cores worth the sacrifice of a lower clock speed? Any answers or responses would be appreciated. They are about the same price used, so, I'm not sure what I should go for.
