ASUS ROG Flow X13 13.4" Touchscreen Gaming Laptop 1920 x 1200 FHD AMD Ryzen 9 with 16GB Memory 512GB SSD Off Black GV302XA-X13.R9512 - Best Buy Great option as a 2 in 1 device, considering its packing a monster of a CPU, the 7940HS. Charges off of type-c versus a barrel type connector like most laptops in its category. This product was probably designed to be paired with their XG Mobile eGPU. It makes it a niche product even though it packs the extremely capable 780M iGPU. More of a productivity laptop that can game without sacrificing portability/battery life for a dGPU.

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: Around $1500. Are you open to refurbs/used? Refurbs. How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? 2 in 1 thin and light with enough power to run solid works and AutoCad, also good battery life since ill be out most of the time so around 6-8 hours without charging. How important is weight and thinness to you? Very important since ill be carrying it in my backpack most of the time. Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Smaller than 17 in Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Solidworks, autocad. If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Not necessary. Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Touch screen(preferred) Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Ive been looking at the Rog flow x13 since it meets most of my demands but i cant find the 2023 version on amazon, ive also been looking at the dell outlet site for xps 15s that meet my requirements but sadly couldnt find any that are 2 in 1. I want a 2 in 1 laptop since i prefer taking notes by hand. Copied off my reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/SuggestALaptop/comments/132jynw/looking_for_a_2_in_1_or_ultrabook_capable_of/

Hello, I'm hopefully going to be purchasing a dell xps 2 in 1, and would really like to get a stylus recommendation. I'm actually surprised that LTT hasn't done a pen round up yet. I'm not really a drawer, I'm really looking for something closer for note taking and quick sketching rather than proper art. The biggest need is for when I head to law school in the upcoming year.

Hello Im searching for a new ultrabook. The flip 14 ux463 satisfies all my requirements. However because of its age I can't find it anywhere in my country. Does anybody know if there will be a new version soon. Was something annouced mabe ? Im absolutely out of the loop due to me being in the millitary right now... Thanks

I want to get a 2 in 1 device but I was thinking maybe it might be better for longevity to get a tablet and a laptop for the same price since I dont hear great things about 2 in 1. How ever I am interested in the surface book 3 since its just a laptop that has a detachable screen. I would like to hear more opinions on this

2 in 1 Need help choosing between 4 laptops
No_RGB_No_PC posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Disclaimer: long post Hello. In my quest to find the perfect laptop to buy I have narrowed it down to 4 options. My many focuses are on display quality, colors, and size. My plan is to use this laptop for general school use (writing essays, taking notes, etc.) and content consumption (streaming movies & tv, youtube, etc.) The 4 laptops are below: Option 1: HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop - 15t-es000PC touch Specs Price (No tax): $1109.99 ($1064.99 with student discount) CPU/GPU: i7-1165G7 with Intel Iris Xe GPU RAM 16 GB DDR4-3200 (2x8 GB) Display: 15.6" diagonal FHD, IPS, micro-edge WLED-backlit, multitouch-enabled, edge-to-edge glass, 400 nitsB (1920 x 1080) SSD: 512 GB Pros Big Screen (great for multitasking and content consumption) Great sound (Built-in Bang & Olufsen) Cons Average display ( 350-400 nits, sRGB=99%, ADOBE RGB=76%, DCI-P3=75%) Heavy (~4 lbs, not the easiest to use in tablet mode; I could probably get used to this) Mushy keyboard Bit-depth unknown (probably 8-bit, could be 6-bit) Option 2: Lenovo Yoga 9i 14" Specs Price (No tax): $1,469.99 (No student discount) CPU/GPU: i7-1165G7 with Intel Iris Xe GPU RAM 16 GB LPDDR4X-4266 Display: 14.0" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, touchscreen with Dolby Vision™, 400 nits SSD: 512 GB Pros Good size screen (balance between size & tablet-mode/portability) Good tactile keyboard Cons Average display (350-400 nits, sRGB=99%, ADOBE RGB=74%, DCI-P3=75%,) Most expensive option Sound not as good as other laptops (Mainly HP & Dell) Bit-depth unknown (probably 8-bit, could be 6-bit) Option 3: Samsung Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha Specs Price (No tax): $1,049.99 ($679.99 with student discount) CPU/GPU: i7-1165G7 with Intel Iris Xe GPU RAM 16 GB LPDDR4X Display: 13.3" FHD QLED SSD: 512 GB Pros Beautiful Display (400-600 nits, QLED, sRGB=99%, ADOBE RGB=N/A, DCI-P3=96%, 8-bit) Tactile keyboard Light and portable Cons Small screen (not that good for multitasking and content consumption) Sound not as good as other laptops (Mainly HP & Dell) Option 4: Dell XPS 13 (9310 2n1) Specs Price (No tax): $1,449.99 ($1,371.99 with student discount) CPU/GPU: i7-1165G7 with Intel Iris Xe GPU RAM 16 GB LPDDR4X-4267 Display: 13.4" 16:10 FHD+ WLED Touch Display (1920 x 1200) SSD: 512 GB Pros 16:10 display Display is above average (450 nits, sRGB=100%, ADOBE RGB=78%, DCI-P3=79%, 8-bit) Great sound Cons Expensive small-ish display (not the best for multitasking and content consumption) The main conflict is display size vs display quality as well as price. The HP ENVY has the largest display which I love but the display isn't as good as the Flex2 Alpha or XPS. Same with the Yoga 9i, it has the best display size in my opinion but the worst quality display and is the most expensive. The XPS has the second best display and is 16:10 which is great for productivity and has great audio, but it is the second most expensive and the display is small-ish. The Flex2 Alpha has the best display out of the 4 but also has the smallest display. I know that which laptop to get ultimately comes down to personal preference, but I have been going over it for days and just can not decide on which one to get. Which of the 4 laptops would you get and why? Thanks for all the advice. -

I recently just bought the MSI Summit E13 Flip Evo off amazon for $1100 instead of $1600. I got it two days ago, but I notice that it actually gets pretty hot quickly. even doing simple tasks like browsing the web with some programs like discord and zoom open, it gets decently toasty. I was wondering if this is normal in powerful 2 in 1 laptops (i7 11th gen). I also played a game of league of legends on medium to low settings, although it ran well, it got super hot, even with the fan on max, blasting super loud. Should I just return it and get a different, more cooling efficient laptop? I kind of feel a little disappointed because i researched a lot about this laptop, but i don't want to return it.

Hey there, I've been looking for a 2 in 1 laptop for quite some time now. I am a computer science student and had way too much paper to carry around aside a laptop, so I decided to get a surface pro, problem is: it's quite expensive for the hardware so I had a look at the surface book, because I'm looking for some light gaming on the go, but definitely more than intel uhd 620 graphics... What I've narrowed down is the surface book for a heck ton of money, the ho spectre x360 or asus zenbook flip 15 UX563FD-EZ043T (1050 max-q, i7-10510U 1080p) all I basically want is a 2 in 1 with slightly better than acceptable pencil support for a reasonable price and I really don't need 4k on 15 inch... Regards, Mephi

Hello, I´m not even sure if this is the right place to ask this question, if not then I´m sorry. Now to the question: Does anybody know a descend "2 in 1" laptop hybrid which is good for art creation and editing like Photoshop or Paint Tools SAI ?(If possible not over the 1000€ price tag. Windows would be preferred.) It does not have to be a high-end, professional grade drawing experience but it should be pleased and not frustrating to draw on. Also, does anyone know if you can turn off touch recognition on those hybrids so that they only react to pens?

I been waiting several months for the perfect laptop. One with a lot of power, that looks sleek and professional (not gamerish), and that does not break my bank (under $1,500). A laptop of such qualities was finally invented! The Lenovo Yoga 720 15IKB!!! I was surprised to see no topic on this laptop on here considering it is the first 2 in 1 on the market with a quad core processor. Also the first 2 in 1 on the market with a 10 series NVIDIA graphics card. So this is a ground breaking new laptop for the market. I purchased this lap top last week and it arrived a few days ago. I love it and have found only very a couple minor things I would change. I purchased the following configuration.... 15.6 inch 3840 x 2160 IPS Display (NOT PenTile, but real RGB) i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz 16GB DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz 512GB PCIe SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 2GB GDRR5 6 cell 72 watt hour battery Dual JBL Dolby Atmos Speakers 1 Thunderbolt 3 port 2 USB 3.0 Type-A Build Quality is all Aluminium All that for only $1,499! So no matter how you slice it, there is no other laptop on the market under $1,500 with specs that good, that also looks professional (not gamerish), with good all aluminum build quality. I never was a big Lenovo fan until now, I must say they hit a home run with this laptop. So I would love to hear everyone else's opinion on this laptop? I know it can be hard to judge completely since there is no reviews of one yet *Cough Linus Cough* But I do plan on posting a review on it sometime with in the next 1 to 2 weeks. So what do you all think? You can check it out on the US Lenovo website right here

Hey LTT community. I am currently looking for the best laptop for my high school/general use next year and a few have caught my eye. Sadly I am having a great deal of trouble deciding between the ones I have seen. So far my top picks are The EVE V The HP Spectre X2 (new version) The Microsoft surface pro. If you guys could help me decide between these three or suggest something even better that would be great. (My price range is between 1000 and 1500 dollars though I might be able to squeeze a bit more. I am looking for form factors 15 inches or under and a 2 in 1 is the most preferable. Thanks - Ethan.

I'm going to be going on an international trip in approximately 5.5 months. Currently for my travel computer, I'm rocking a surface pro 2 from a few years ago. While it's hardly used (it is my travel computer after all) and runs great, its is sorely lacking on the battery life department. The best I can get while using it is around 3 hours, and while I understand that this is fairly average for a laptop of sorts, it won't suffice for the kind of trip that I'll be going on. In that vein, I'm looking for recommendations on similar devices of a similar form factor preferably with the following features: have a screen 12-14 inches in size running at least 1080p come with or support a stylus (I like to draw) have a battery life of at least 6 hours for moderate use (watching videos, doing skype calls, etc) 4 GB of RAM is ok, but at least 8 GB is preferred I live in Canada, so any sorts of recommendations should be in CAD. Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks!

Ok so first off I realize I'm kinda looking for the perfect laptop that might not exist so now that we've gotten that out of the way here's my problem. I need a new laptop for school/ all around. I'm kinda dead set on getting a 2 in 1 because it's going to be my main source of media in both high school and probably collage (I'm a senior) but I also want it to perform well. I need it to be fairly good at some editing on sony vegas for YouTube and some fairly medium gaming (say dishonored as an example). I'd also like to stay under $900. Any suggestions? Anything helps! Thanks in advance!

I've been wanting to upgrade my 3 year old laptop for some time now and after watching the "How our videos are made" video on youtube, the Lenovo Flex 5 that Edzel was using looked interesting. For around $1150 for 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-7500U Processor (2.70GHz 4MB), 16GB of RAM and a 940MX, do you guys think it's a good option for solid multimedia creation and consumption? I'm a fresh IT grad and a photographer so i'll be using it mainly for Photoshop, Premier and some coding jobs. I wont be gaming on it much, probably just League of Legends and some older games from 2016. Here's the amazon link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XKNVNKF/ref=twister_B072RC6CYT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I'm open to any other suggestions around the same price :))

It is over 1600% funded and it seems like a really cool idea. Though I believe it would be really easy for them to mess it up. They also claim to be "Crowd Developed" but there is no way to suggest things to them so it seems like they saw what was wrong with a surface and decided what they thought would be what others do. It does sound like good hardware though. Thoughts? here's a link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/eve-v-the-first-ever-crowd-developed-computer-laptop-tablet#/

Hey everyone, I'm looking for recommendations for a laptop for my mom for Christmas. She is currently using our old family laptop which I believe is a first or second gen MacBook pro. I've extended the life of that thing as far as I can, so now it's time to get her something new. She uses it mostly as a Facebook game machine. So it need to at least handle those flash heavy Facebook games. Also, I think she really liked the $50 amazon tablet I got her last year so looking for something that can also be used as a tablet. I was looking at the Acer Aspire R14 and the Lenovo Yoga 710, so if you have any experience with those feel free to comment. Thanks a bunch! My budget is target is about $300 but my absolute max is $600 Here are the key features I'm looking for: 1920x1080 screen Touch screen 2 in 1 fast i3 or i5 8gb of ram or at least an option to upgrade things I'm willing to compromise on: size battery life ports track pad quality

Back in Oct 2016, Dell confirmed that they were working on a convertible 2 in 1 version of the XPS 13, and would be announced in CES 2017. It seems Dell could reach its original target. Windows Central discovered an image and blank product page on Dell's website about a new notebook called "XPS 13 2 in 1", not much was known about the new machine as it is a blank product page. But from the image, it seems the new laptop would still feature the Infinity Edge display, and the laptop will turn to tablet mode by folding the screen backward via a 360° hinge, not via flipping the screen like the old XPS 12 which Linus owned. Windows Central suggested that we could expect a similar config with the Kaby Lake version of the XPS 13. We could know more about this new laptop if Dell included this in its CES 2017 line up. http://www.theverge.com/2017/1/1/14139216/dell-xps-13-2-in-1 http://m.windowscentral.com/dell-reveals-xps-13-9365-convertible-laptop XPS 13 2-in-1's product page http://www.dell.com/ca/p/xps-13-9365-2-in-1-laptop/pd?dgc=BA&cid=306033&lid=5794655&acd=123092276202786724c101156640&ven3=101303210613466223 Dell Launching 2-in-1 Version of XPS 13 at CES 2017 (10/10/2016) http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/xps-13-2-in-1 *update: Dell revealed this laptop, but it is a bit disappointing.... -Core i5-7Y54 or Core i7-7Y75 processor -up to 16GB of ram -FHD/QHD display - 802.11ac wireless -one Thunderbolt 3 port, one micro-SD card slot, and one USB Type-C 3.1 ports - including a USB-C to USB-A adapter -1.24 kilograms/2.7 pounds, 0.32 to 0.54 inches thick -currently only available in silver color LaptopMag.com has an exclusive review of this machine, which you can read it via this link: http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/dell-xps-13-2-in-1

I found 2 dells and im not sure which one to buy (800 usd vs 1110 usd) Is the price difference worth having almost 2x better cpu? Do i need that better cpu? I allready have gaming rig so what im looking for is machine for movies internet and maybe playing some clasics like diablo 2 fallouts 1-2 Both have thunderbolt so i can add egpu especially that i have msi gtx 970 4gb laying around but i dont think i would ever really need to do that but if i decided to do then 8550U processor would be better So should i save up money and just buy 2 in 1 ? Will it be enough for what i need or im gonna regret getting that slow cpu Dell XPS 13 9365 I7-7Y75 512 SSD 16GB FHD IPS 2in1 - 800 usd (used) Dell XPS 13 9370 i7-8550U 16GB 512GB FHD - 1110 usd (used) - 1265 usd (new) Thanks Regards

So Im lookingf for a new Laptop and I'm pretty fond of the HP envy x360 line. (Similar to the spectre 360 from the "The best 2 in 1 yet" video) theres two options for me to consider in the 13'3 inch rang, but the only noticable difference is the build in CPU: ryzen 5 2500u with Radeon Vega 8 799€ (894$) ryzen 7 3700u with Radeon Vega 10 995€ (1113$) My question is: Is taking the ryzen 7 variant worth the 200€ (223$) difference? would the Performance actually be a lot better or will it be nearly the same? cooling isn't that good on those superflat Ultrabooks. I tried looking up benchmarks, but there are nearly none for the 3rd gen ryzen and I'm not that familiar with AMD cpus in general. Usage: Daily Driver, Media consumption, light video editing or 3d modelling, maybe some older or less demanding games(which is not that important)

Hello, I've been trying to decide for a while know what laptop I should get for college. After a lot of searching, I came up with these criteria: Around $1000, 4k display, > 256GB SSD, touch-screen, decent enough processor (I'm not planning on gaming or editing), and a nice to type one keyboard. This eventually led me to a bunch of 2 in 1s. However, I'm not sure I really need a 2 in 1. I plan to use it mostly for school work, video/movie watching, and other general purposes, nothing too intensive. The touchscreen is more of a novelty than anything else because I don't have any graphic design needs. Above all, however, I would like it to last throughout college, which is why my budget is a bit bigger than I usually would be willing to spend on a laptop. I would rather have one very nice laptop for four years, than a few "ok" laptops over the same time period. The few that have stood out to me have been the Surface laptop 2, Surface book 2, Xps 13, and Xps 13 2 in 1. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I'm on the hunt for a Windows Laptop/Tablet that I can use with a pen to take notes aswell as light CAD and Matlab workloads. Two of my friends use Surface Tablets (will update modell tomorrow) and they are pretty happy with it but I can't/don't want to pay >800€ to take notes. Do you have some alternative options arround 500€ or maybe a good source for refurbished device in Europe (Germany/Austria). Any help would be appreciated.

Hey all! I'm looking for advice on laptops. I'm replacing my old af lenovo yoga 13 from 2012, since multiple things are failing. I kinda just want to know what you guys think are the best options for 2 in 1s are so far? I keep looking at the dell xps 13's but they are more than I paid for my old one, but I don't see that there is much more value in terms of performance, but I definitely want that USB C charging and their stylus storage. EDIT: my wife has an older MS surface tablet, but I never really competed with my lenovo, keyboard is too small and janky, and its a bit anemic in terms of performance. How does the surface book compare?

I am looking for a 2 in 1 laptop for college and I am looking for some options. My current budget is around $1000, but I pay a little extra if I feel its needed. I plan to take handwritten notes using a stylist, so I will need that feature. Other things I am looking for are: Minimum storage of 516 gb 16 gb of ram Around a 13in display 1080p or 4k resolution (I don't really care which) Preferably an i7 processor (but I don't think i5 will suffice) and hopefully be under 4 lbs What I DON'T need the laptop to do is: Video/photo editing Gaming Heavy computation work Basically if my laptop cannot do it, my custom pc can. Another note is that I don't mind refurbished items, last years or even 2017 models are fine. Thanks
