Hello and thanks for reading im building my 1st computer in over ten years and alot has changed since i last go my head in and built a rig from ground up im looking at spending about £1200 extra and no room in the budget for any more ive already picked out some parts i would like to use but need help, with mainly the motherboard, already ive brought a corsair 750 modular powersupply and ordered a Corsair carbide air 540 ( an older case but i love the look of it) i would like to have in this system, but im very open to changing things out if people think there is somthing better out there at the same price point: a samsung 750evo 500gb sata drive £129.99 or an equlivant m.2 around the same price ( just for my os and reg games a toshiba 3tb 7200 hdd £79.99 (2 more might be added at a later date) intel i7 7700k £330 ( i will be over clocking) 16gb of ballistix sport ddr4 ram £145 Asus gtx1060 Rog Strix 6gb £299.99 (prices off amazon.co.uk) i would of liked it water cooled even if it was just and aio system and i have been trying to decided between msi z270 m7 or the asus strix z270e both are good boards from what i can see the asus board is cheaper and would match the gpu but the msi has more fetures and some pre installed oc profiles to keep the wife happy it will need to have rgb lighting in and needs to be easy to turn off when its not in use this will be used for gaming and eventuly upgraded to a 1080 (just need to save some more funds but have 2 kids that need shoes, like all the time) i will but running it on my current moniter a lg 21:9 with the addition of 2 samsung 19" (older dvi) moniters. this system will also be used for some light programing as im getting back in to it and also some 3d renderings that my wife will be doing i would very much like some feed back, comments on what to change, which motherboard to get and if there is any major changes that would be better or cheaper

It's 6 Months old build, all parts bought on amazon,he can get me the full invoice print out for parts, GPU 3 year warranty transferable through EVGA, guy moving away so can't take with him. I can also go to his house and see it working before I buy. 1. Is this build worth the asking price? 2. I'm using it for RTS (Anno 1800, 2205, PUBG)no streaming or rendering, would this build handle it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is my first post, so please forgive me if I've done something wrong or there are formatting issues. With that said thanks to anyone who gives me some advice! I'm looking to build a new gaming PC after gaming on low settings for a while. I live in the UK and plan to spend around £1200 on the PC with a maximum budget of lets say £1500, but I'm not looking to spend a couple extra hundred to make the build look better or for a few extra frames. The PC will be used for gaming and I'm hoping at this budget i'll be able to play most games at high settings 60fps (possibly ultra but not much emphasis on it as after reading online it seems the quality doesn't increase a whole lot for the potential frame losses). I will be using a dual monitor setup with both having a 1080p resolution (I already have my 2 screens so they don't need to be included in the budget). I already have mouse and keyboard so I'm currently not looking to upgrade them, maybe during the Christmas sales I might try getting new ones. I will need a OS and i'm looking to get windows 10. I have interest in making my computer look fancy with RGB lighting or anything along them lines, I have been looking into cases and I quite like the NZXT - S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case or something similar. After searching around online I'm still not sure whether to go with a Intel CPU or a AMD ryzen, so I have no preference on that matter. Also I have never done overclocking so I'm not sure if I will want to overclock my pc right from the get go.

Hi there! So turning 18 in a week, I will be coming into money and my plan which I've adamant about for over a year is to buy and build my own PC for gaming and video editing. Gaming will be for fun of course, and the video editing will partially be for university where I will be studying film production, as well as dabbing into YouTube content creation as well a little bit. This configuration as changed and transformed dramatically over a year and a half, and with all of the changing and spamming the hell of YouTube videos regarding these budget builds, this is the configuration I have been satisfied with and haven't tinkered with it in over 3 months. I am not getting cold feet per say, but I though I would consult the you wonderful people of the LinusTechTips forum to help and guide me, and reassure that my config is the best balance of performance, sexiness and overall bad-assery. This PC is a balance of 50% performance and 50% looks, yes I'm shallow but I want this to look beautiful as well as function incredibly well. Here is the "Build Plan Thread Recommendations" pinned thread and the answers I've given: 1. Budget & Location - My location is the United Kingdom (Great British Pound £) and my budget is between £1200 - £1300 with £100 of that going towards peripherals. So tower budget alone is £1200. 2. Aim - The aim for this PC is for me to be able to video edit as well as doing some medium-to-intense gaming, I will also be using this as my driver for University as I will be studying film production and will need this to work on in my dormitory. One of the things you will notice is that I have gone for a white colour build, which is what I've always wanted. Things that I am not willing to change/The Rules of the build: The case. The H440 in white is a design that I have simply fell in love with, and with the peripheral budget I will also be purchasing official NZXT Blue LED lighting strips to accompany the case. Intel i7 processor, for me it has to be Intel, and it has to be an i7 or and i5. If you wanna suggest other models of the i7 or i5 that's fine Corsair Dominator RAM is a design that I like and am willing to pay extra for looks, also because of the video editing tasks 16GB is a minimum requirement. Graphics Card must be from the GeForce GTX line and no lower than a GTX 970 model.7 Things to note and keep in mind: Yes, my OS, program files and project files will be loaded onto the SSD and that will be my boot drive, the terabyte HDD is purely storage of everything else. Constant file management will be taking place. Regarding power supply, "PC Part Picker" says I need 340 Watts to run the system, so I've chosen 550 Watt power supply as Corsair offers semi-modular cables and I want very tight cable management with my build. Although the Motherboard is rather flashy and a bit over the top but, it's IO is exactly what I need and all the ports on this motherboard are ones I will actually be using. Regarding RAM however I am aware of the 3000MHz speed I have chosen but I am willing to settle for a lower speed if you can tell me why! Aaaaaaaaaaaand we're done!
