  1. Budget (including currency): $1.500 - $2,000 USD Country: America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Son's of the Forrest, Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 5, Far Cry 5, Starfield, + a few new unreal engine 5 games coming out in 2024. (Also school work for High School) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I want to get a 1440p 144hz monitor. I want to stick with an Intel processor and Nvidia GPU unless I am extremely advised against it. I wasn't to use shaders for Minecraft :). I am going to buy it around March.
  2. Budget (including currency): ~$1,500 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Open world games (RDR2, Elder scrolls, etc) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://nzxt.com/product/starter-pro This is my first gaming computer. I am tempted to get this pre-built due to shortages and my inexperience with computers, but wanted to hear if people think I could make a better build. If so, what parts would you recommend switching out? Where is the best place to get these parts? At this point, it seems like I should settle on a 3060 ti for a budget of $1,500, is this correct or could I get better? Thanks for your help!!
  3. Looking to buy a prebuilt computer. I'd like to run two monitors from it. Run games like Outer Worlds and WoW. I also need it to be able to run solidworks, inventor, fusion 3d, etc.. a 512gb ssd and a 1tb secondary drive would be ideal. I've looked at few places such as IBuyPower, Cyberpower pc, new egg, etc.. Part of the problem I'm having is I don't know which pC parts I necessarily want- I just know what i'd like out of them. Maybe $1500 is unrealistic, but it's what i've got for this. Is this an appropriate place to ask for help in choosing a FULL Prebuilt gaming desktop?
  4. Basically the laptop isn't for me but a friend of mine and they would like a laptop that has a good battery life as well as a gpu since they wanna get into video editing. Their max price is $1600 but would prefer $1500 or below. I would look for myself but i have been out of the loop on laptops for a year or more and I don't have the time to watch all the reviews for them. I know you guys would know this faster than I can type lttstore.com. Anyway thanks in advance guys!

  7. Hello, I am trying to build a new gaming PC, my old one just has too many problems so i am going to upgrade. I am trying to keep the build reality small and quite but still with a lot of kick. I am trying to keep the Computer around $1500 US as well as a white and black color scheme. (how it looks is pertty important to me) Here is what i am currently thinking of using. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Yy24jc I am currently using a 3440x1440 monitor, is a GTX 1080 going to be able to run modern games decently well? also i am thinking about water cooling the GPU with a corsair H55 and the Kraken G10 instead of the extra case fans, what are your thoughts? Thanks a lot for the help.

  9. Ive been working on my perfect build for about a month now, researching parts, narrowing everything down, and asking the PC community for advice. My budget is around $1500 (I already have a GPU). I need help on final picks for the build. More specifically Storage solutions, CPU cooler, and PSU size. Inspired by the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv tempered glass edition , this build is aimed for photo editing, gaming, and overall fast as possible performance for regular use. While looks shouldn't be a factor, I cant help myself with this sexy Phanteks case. I will be going for a Grey/Black color scheme...and some part choices/options embarrassingly are because I think they look good and match my theme. -No overclocking, maybe light overclocking -Must be Air Cooled (AIO coolers just worry me, and I leave my computer on a lot) -After research AMD Ryzen is not optimal for Photoshop so I will definitely be going Intel as its what I know and am comfortable with. Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolve ATX (tempered glass edition) (Grey) MB: Asus z270 Hero (or Strix if I want to save some money and be more practical with my cost since I wont be using a lot of the feature of the Hero...but here is where matching my case comes into play with the grey/black.. hence why not the Prime) CPU: Intel i7 7700k Kaby Lake (while chances are I wont be overclocking, I am attracted to the higher base clock speed of the "K") CPU Cooler: Options -Be Quiet Shadow Rocks Slim -Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 -Cryorig H7 GPU: Asus GTX 960 (works good enough for light gaming/photoshop) RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 LED 32gb SSD Boot/Programs: Options -Samsung 850 Evo 500gb -Samsung 850 Evo 1tb -Samsung 960 Evo M.2 500gb HDD Storage: 6tb -Western Digital Black (or) -Western Digital Blue PSU: Options (Im kind of a corsair fanboy so I dont mind the slight price premium over EVGA) -Corsair Rm 550x -Corsair Rm 650x External HD: WD MyBook 6tb (backup/redundancy) Final Thoughts/questions : 1) Which Air cooler to you suggest for cooling i7 7700k Stock/light OC (prefer not to have a GIANT cooler) open to options not on the list 2) What size PSU should I get? 550w or 650w for optimal power consumption ....I plan to upgrade GPU in the future (I dont run SLI) and I have 2 1440p Monitors 3) Storage for SSD boot/programs .. 500gb or 1tb? I like the idea of having more than enough than not enough, however the price jump has me leaning towards 500gb and Im guessing its all I really need. 4) Data Storage for RAW photos and everything else. WD Black for speed or Blue for price/noise? Thoughts on the Blacks noise level? Is the Black a noticeable difference vs the blue for read/write 5) Any other thoughts on over all build? any other suggestions? as Im ready to pull the trigger on this build but I want it to be perfect before I do.
  10. My friend is looking for a nice and portable laptop for gaming and video editing. I personally don't know much about video editing so wanted to have a piece of advice from the pros. His budget is around $1300-1500. Macbook not preferred (if you are just recommending a laptop for editing).

  12. 1: Budget & Location I live in Houston, TX and would like to spend no more than $1500 USD for this build. If a new monitor could be included as described below, that would be awesome. I'm willing to expand on the budget as needed to include a good quality monitor that is likely to last as long as what I'm currently running. I can buy all the parts this week or wait as needed on some things like the new monitor if it seems better to do so. 2&3: The purpose of my build I want to be able to play games released within the last 2 years with high graphical settings (not necessarily ultra everything) on a monitor with a higher resolution than 1900x1080. My desktop currently runs two Asus vh236h monitors and I think I would like to replace them with a larger single monitor (32"?) with a higher resolution, better black levels, without compromising on input lag times. It's more important to me to have higher performance than very minute details, but I'm at the point where I can't even compromise image quality for performance anymore on my current setup. I'd like to not have to overclock unless it is a common practice on a particular processor and known to be stable. 4: Peripherals and reused components I'll need a monitor, motherboard, cpu, ram, gpu, and ssd. On the fence about a new case, which now that I think about it has more to do with whether or not the new graphics card will be longer than the 560ti that just barely squeezes in there now. Reusing my keyboard, optical drive, and OS. No need for wireless functionality. I have lots of extra spinning drive storage available in my current computer, but the only SSD is in the laptop and I'd like to keep it there. I have a nice mechanical keyboard and don't necessarily see a real need to replace my long-lived Deathadder mouse. I'm still using an even older Diamondback and Copperhead for work and travel after replacing worn-out switches since they are just so comfortable. Although the P180 case is still presentable and certainly usable, I'm missing interior parts like extra plastic drive rails. If there is a way to get replacement components from Antec on the cheap, I'll consider reusing the case, especially if there aren't really good options for a new case that delivers the same level of sound deadening that won't eat up a bunch of the budget. 5: Background on why I'm upgrading I've been more or less using the same setup for quite a few years now. My desktop is an E8500 running 4gb of DDR2 ram, 560ti, with spinning WD black storage. This has served me well ever since I originally had a 9800GX2 in there around 2009. It's housed in an Antec P180 case, with the original Antec Titan case now taking up space in the garage. In 2012, I purchased an Asus N56V on craigslist and installed an SSD as primary storage with the 7200rpm disc now sitting in the optical drive slot. This laptop performed admirably for me, and I was happy to see that MGSV played really well for me. Unfortunately, neither system can handle Witcher 3, which is the latest PC game I'd like to play. Thanks for your time and consideration, and I'll reply to any comments as quickly as possible.
  13. Hello all, I am a 17 year old Asian student living in Australia right now. Frustrated with my outdated 6 year old Lenovo Thinkpad, my parents have offered to purchase a new laptop for my final year of secondary school. They said that they offer a maximum budget of $1500 AUD, but I can add some funds from my own part-time job so probably max looking like $2000 AUD. I am looking for a recommendation for a laptop that is: Within $1500 to $2000 AUD Able to get in Australia Something that is capable of doing work well, chill on and game on too. Only game I will play is CS GO really Something that has good-specs, good CPU and memory Preferably has a separate GPU but integrated is fine as long as it can run CS GO (XD) RN I'm leaning towards a Dell Inspirion 7000 15 Gaming, but I would like other input. Thank you, I would research more myself but I would like to hear from seasoned veterans in the technology field. Thank you again.
  14. Please help me and get me the right performance to value deal what i need gaming ,productive both and i have all accesories req. and should compete with time greatly as one time purchase like in office productive and at home game mode how gamingly it looks no problem with it
  15. I am looking to build a PC for 3d modeling and light animation, gaming, and streaming (possibly). I am looking at about $1500 and would like to play at 1080p 144hz. Also, I would prefer matx and I have a mouse and headset (Razer and Logitech respectively) but no keyboard or monitor. I don't exactly know if this is possible with my budget, but Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated!
  16. Hello, I am completely new to building pc's and was wondering if anyone could give me a hand and either show me some good pre-built pc's for $1500 CAD or help me build a good one on PCPartpicker. I'm mostly playing League of Legends, Rainbow Six, Destiny 2, Overwatch, Black Desert Online and a few other games . Any help is appreciated, Thank you.
  17. Hey everyone! I am building my friend their first ever PC and would love some input on the hardware choices. This unit will be for gaming, their interests are in Overwatch and a lot of Blizzard games, though I full expect that to change throughout the years. My budget to work with is $1500 CAD, and plan to wait for a lot of things to go on sale before buying them so the list below probably has some room to move I did some very basic research on CPU's and came to the conclusion from multiple ad placement "reviews" that the Intel i5-8400 is the best for gaming, but I do assume this is true. I am not personally comfortable with overclocking but I am willing to learn if that is the suggestion, I dont think OCing in this type of build is needed personally, so I have not looked into any K-series processor. I am not sure what to really look for in motherboards, I want the availability of m.2 just for future proofing, but other than that I have no idea what to look for PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Type Item Price CPU Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor $244.99 @ PC-Canada CPU Cooler Noctua - NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler $109.95 @ Amazon Canada Motherboard MSI - Z370 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $164.50 @ Vuugo Memory G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory $163.99 @ Newegg Canada Storage Kingston - SSDNow UV400 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $79.99 Storage Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $47.99 @ Newegg Canada Video Card Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card $299.99 Case Fractal Design - Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case $99.99 @ Newegg Canada Power Supply EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply $115.99 @ PC-Canada Operating System Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit $119.75 @ Vuugo Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1447.13 Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-10-12 21:25 EDT-0400 Thanks for any input!
  18. I want to help build a streaming and 4K editing PC for my girlfriend Budget & Location The budget is around $1500 for the PC. And we're planning on building this PC this year's black Friday so hopefully we can score some good deal and wait for the new 4th gen Ryzen processors and ATX 3000 series. The PC will be in her room. Aim She wants to use the PC for streaming games like Fornite, Rocket League, and eventually span out to Triple A games. She does edit her videos and uses 4K footage for her camera not her game however. Monitors She is planning on getting the LG 27GL850 monitor. 1440 resolution with 144hz refresh and 1ms response time. Peripherals She has a MX master mouse and is planning on getting a mechanical key board so if you have any suggestion that would be great! Why is she upgrading? She currently uses her Dell XPS 17 (7950) to stream, edit, play video games. A faster machine that would be able to handle all of her game play and editing would definitely make her streaming career easier! Any advise to her planned PC would be greatly appreciated! 19. Hello, I am looking for help on a low Gaming Budget Setup to continue gaming on some not so much demanding games. My currency is USD and the budget for the whole setup is $1400 and below (you can include setups that go over $100 dollars if you need to or believe it would just help, but preferably builds that don’t exceed the budget by a large margin would be better suited) -Uses *Heavy Gaming sessions on CS:GO, LoL, Fortnite, GTA 5(Hoping to run the less demanding games at max settings and GTA 5 at high settings) *WebBrowsing *Light Schoolwork( Once every blue moon when I need to write an Essay/Research -What I’m looking for specifically in terms of help *Cheaper build/setup recommendations or Helping me tweak the current setup I have linked below to reach a budget goal of $1400 and below( I’ve decided from the other posts that I’ve made and build recommendations that I’ve received that the $1500-$1700 budget was a bit overkill considering the games I will be playing) *Something that will last (easily upgrade at a later date) *No significant frame drops or bottlenecking( trying to get the best experience) *peripherals Headset, Keyboard, mouse Including a monitor(144Hz or more) *OS also needed *Overclockable Ask me below if you have any concerns with what I have listed and please thank you! any help is appreciated, as I really hope to order these parts and begin my build to end the summer
  20. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/9k9DJ8 1. Budget & Location My location is Canada and my budget for my whole setup is $1500 CAD including mouse, keyboard, monitor, PC 2. Aim The system will be used for gaming mainly at high-ultra settings for 70-120+ FPS on games like GTA 5, Rainbow Six siege, CS:GO, Fortnite. 3. Monitors One monitor will do the job for me! 4. Peripherals Mouse and Keyboard and monitor 5. Why are you upgrading? I’m going from laptop to PC for the more variety of games and especially the competitive games as I am very competitive and see not to much competition on console. Ive had a GeForce card so I prefer nvidia cards.
  21. Looking for a setup mainly for gaming, programming, browsing web and watching movies. Only things I have now are 1tb HDD with Windows 10 from old computer, mouse and a keyboard. What would you guys get for ~$1500 with monitor 1440p?
  22. Hey, I've had a hard time choosing a laptop that is good for gaming but also for all purpose. I found many laptops but I either found them to bulky or very low end specs. Here is what I need. AT LEAST a gtx 1050 or MX1050 Portable and can be used for gaming. An Intel Core I7 Decent IO Including a Thunderbolt 3 Not over $1600 or 2078.96 in Canadian Dollars Doesn't have too many gaming aesthetics such as the Acer Predator Helios. Can run PUBG on at least medium settings. I plan for this PC to last me around 3 years without upgrading. I also plan to put Windows, Steam and drivers on my SSD. As I am playing games I will copy them off and onto my SSD. The 2TB Seagate HDD is more of a storage drive for my Steam Games I am not playing. Monitors I am currently running a BenQ Zowie 24" RL2455HM Gaming Monitor at 1920x1080. I plan to get a second one in the future (around 2 years). I am posting this to find out if this is a decent build and if I could get something better for my money. Thanks Seth
  24. Hello everyone! I'm in need of help, I'm not sure whether this computer build as a whole is good; however, I know the parts individually are excellent. I'm determined to keep the i7 6700K and the GTX 1070. I know most would suggest an i5 6600K instead, but there is small bottle-necking in a few different games like GTA V, which is a CPU intensive game as I've heard. I do want it to also be a "small" workstation. I've been using a laptop for quite a while now and I would definitely love to upgrade to desktop gaming. Since I'm doing such, I'm not starting with a low jump. I'm taking a great leap. Thanks for any help and advice! The Forum so far is great. I would be grateful if someone would also suggest a $1000 build with, at minimum, a GTX 1060 or greater. $1500 Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/By8QPs EDIT: Does anyone know why M.2 SSD would be a bad idea compared to SATA SSD?
  25. Im working on choosing parts to build a computer for a friend. the budget is still very loose but the general impression i am getting is to keep the cost of the computer close to $1500. right now the goals are to be able to do 3d modelling with a cintiq as well as gaming on the side. because of the motherboard the plan is to make a pretty dark build with no case lights that is all black with copper accents like the motherboard so far i have the below chosen based on both the intended look of the completed system and the performance desired. my reasoning is as follows: the CPU has a good clock rate and decent number of cores. i dont really want to go back a generation to have more cores as i dont think many tasks are optimized for multicore work beyond 4 or 8 anyways. i chose the K version because it is only a little more than the non-k and seems to be a lot faster. the cpu cooler is a trusted brand and black to match everything else. i dont see a cost vs performance benefit for an aio water cooler and i dont want the extra points of failure that would introduce. the motherboard seems to have the features i need. it supports the max spec of ram and has the pcie 16x slot for the graphics card. the memory is the fastest speed the cpu can use and will fill half of the slots for dual channel ram with room to max out the ram in a few years to 64gb the storage is just autogenerated to be a few terabytes of mass storage and a ssd for booting a few programs. im willing to look into a redundant raid configuration if that's a good idea. id like to add an m.2 ssd but im sure that would pull bandwidth from the gpu if the sata doesn't already. the video card is chosen for being new with plenty of vram and a workable price. i dont see any reason to step down to 1060 and the 1080 seems to be too much. i'm choosing nvidia for compatibility with the modelling programs. the case is just a solid choice i think at a good price and the power supply has the power to support all of the components and then some. the mobo does not support sli and i dont think sli is worth upgrading to anyways for this application. This means the upgrade path is limited to expanding storage and memory.
