Source: Wired I know it seems gross, but filtering out the byproducts of the endocrine system makes urine into water with some harmless salts and sugars. It's similar to the process by which the water main filters sewage, but leaves certain salts and sugars in the solution. And yes, it's an older article. But it's fascinating.

Just follow this link to a page that has all of the things that Steam is now offering for a discount. http://store.steampowered.com/search/?specials=1 Too bad that the Summer Sale hasn't started yet, but this should be helpful if you want to look for something on-sale right now.

Hello I'm unsure if I should buy an Xbox One or just go pc due to console gaming has always been my passion however over the last year I have built up a gaming pc due to the freedom pc gamers have over consoles. The question seems unanswerable to me please help me decide. I do realise posting this on a forum site full of pc gamers isn't going to help the chance of me getting a Xbox One but this is the best place for me to get an answer.

I'll start. 1) Games made for PC then ported to consoles. 2) CGI grade IN-GAME graphics. 3) For the fun of building, tweaking, and upgrading a PC to never change, (aka for them not to turn into consoles).

Its interesting to find a heatsink +fan on CPU for the new console. Also nice to know that you can also change the HDD ( probably going to void warranty.... etc.). Let me know what you guys think about new console except how much it sucks against PC Pictures : http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2013/05/xbox-one-development-photos/#slideid-138497 Article: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2013/05/xbox-one/

I play a lot of CS:GO and Battlefield 4. I really enjoy the game, but most good players use 144hz monitors. Now I know higher the refresh rate is better, so is it worth me getting the BenQ XL2420Z? http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2420Z-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00HZF2MPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398638640&sr=8-1&keywords=benq+xl2420z I really like the look of the monitor and its at a good price. I already have 2 IPS displays but these are not the best for gaming. Thanks, Alfie.

So I did a poll once, S5 vs M8, and saw other polls too, and even though the post put "EXPLAIN WHY" in caps and bold or whatever, people happily just say "M8 because of the build quality" Now I love the Metal Body of the M8, it is fantastic for what it is, but people be rational, you do know, Metal gets dents way more easily? It also gets scratches more easily making it ugly after awhile making the build quality feel go away with time, if it is scratched up and dented. I mean look at other companies, LG, Motorola, Apple(5C), Sony, OnePlus, Oppo, do they make Metal phones? DO THEY?! So please, enough with your M8 cause of build quality, Yes it is beautiful in all aspects and should be adopted by others, but if you look at the other phone companies, they also don't really make Metal Phones either. I mean if I had ever had to buy a iPhone for build quality, I would go with the 5C, because for it feels natural and just more enjoyable to use. So all in all, please stop with this build quality nonsense, in the tech world is does have relevance yes, but does that mean, you could have the best Build Quality, but limited Functionality? Or phone that has good functionality but just not such a great build quality. Sorry if you did not like the rant, I have not been sleeping lately due to exams, so I just wanted to rant about this, thanks for reading, and remember, if someone asks why one phone over the other, don't just say one thing and post, they need your help, that is why they ask. /rant A song to listen too if you want to read this post: Or this, Original one:

Hi there folks. I've been finalising the parts list to the new mid-high end PC which I am hoping to get within six months. Please keep in mind that I live in Australia and the prices are often higher than in the US. I want you guys to go through this list and see if you can improve upon it in any way. The catch? I want you to be as nit-picky as possible and if needed suggest alternate components and explain why. So here is the list: Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro [AU$115] -- Looks good, it's also pretty much the most fully featured case in that price range. PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W Gold [AU$239] -- Good enough to power any single GPU system. However, I don't really like the red PCIe cables. If the SuperNOVA G2 750W was in Australia I would pick that instead because of the all black cables and higher wattage. I also considered the Corsair RM550/RM650 because of the very low noise but chose not to use it because of the inferior cables. Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Ranger [AU$225] -- There are cheaper options out there but I chose this one mostly because of Fan Xpert 3 and because of ASUS's generally good warranty. CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K [AU$269] -- Most likely to change this to the 4690K because why not. RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB DDR3 1600 [$99] -- Not the greatest performance, but it's cheap and looks better than any of the other similarly priced RAM. (RAM in Aus is much more expensive than in the US) GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 Windforce 4GB [AU$449] -- Pretty cheap for a 290. SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB [AU$179] -- I will also be using a 1TB HDD from my current PC CPU Cooler: NZXT Havik 140 [AU$69] -- This particular CPU cooler seems to be overlooked but from the reviews that I've seen it performs very well, especially considering its price. Total: AU$1554 I would greatly appreciate any suggested changes, as long as you can explain why. I would also like to keep the total cost under AU$1600

I have already looked up a lot of stuff about this but i wanted to see all your choices before making any decisions!

After the promo and rebate the ASUS VS248H-P come out to $160. Is it a good buy? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236153 If you can recommend something better for up to 180 I would be happy to hear your suggestions.

Hi Guys, So I've been on holiday in America and Hawaii for over a month. This means I've been away from my beloved Larry the Leviathen (my gaming PC :P), wonderful mechanical keyboard and corsair M60. I've been internet-ing on my Macbook pro and haven't ben able to play Skyrim or BF3 all this time and it's killing me. I've been craving some good solid game time, but it just hasn't been possible. Also the separation of me from the internet for most days (when we're out doing things) has caused me to pull far too many all nighters staying up on the internet. I do like to spend a lot of my time gaming or on the internet. I don't think this is unhealthy however as I still enjoy bike rides and going outside and being with friends. I play squash and I'm very healthy apart from the amount of time I spend on the computer. My questions for you to discuss are Are you addicted to anything tech related? Do you enjoy time away from technology? Do you think being addicted to tech is unhealthy? bchampion96 (LurkerLAG)

I'm going to be doing a White and Black theme build. For a 780 or 7970 what card would you choose?

Over the summer I have been interning at a local railway company and over the course of this internship my job has been to convert old programs from VB6 to C# (no idea why they dont want VB.net) and write new tools for them to use and the tools range in function from analyzing raw track data to double checking track placement information and track design. Im supposedly the first "true" programmer they have ever hired as they said that programming these smaller tools has always been done by low level technicians that picked up coding on the fly for rapid prototyping. I got hired on since Microsoft is ending support for VB 6 and they have no one on staff that is familiar with more modern languages and standards. The problem is the companys lack of good programmers shows and not in a good way. I havent had many problems up until this point as I was mainly writing new programs from scratch, for this program in particular they said they just wanted it commented to see how it works to have it converted at a latter date by myself or someone else when i go back to school. This sent up a red flag, they have a program that they don't even know how it all even works and the original guy that wrote it left the company 5 years ago, all they know is that the program does what its supposed to do, design control line blocks for railway systems. So i went to go look at this program to dig around to see how it works and I was awestuck by what I found, no only was there no comment in sight, this program is over 20k lines long and spread across a couple files but there is not a single comment to what does what. Not a single one, this would have not been a problem as im well versed in reading code and its like reading english to me, however this might as well be scribbles on a paper as the program did not even use proper naming conventions!!! Here is a segment of one of the many functions within this program. Private Function testfunction1(ds, x1, x2, x4, x6, t5, t6, t7, T8, T9, t10) Dim m, i, j, j1, L2, k, k1, X, xx, x3, x5, x7, x9, x10, x11, x15, xt1, xt2, Tk2, ssss0 As Long Dim t0, t1, t2, t3, t4, vv, sbd, vdx, vtx, XSpd, GG, G1,G2, Z77 As Single Dim VvV() As Single Static vd, vt, vd6, vt6, vv6 As Single Dim mg, mg1, mg2 As String This has got to win the worst code ever award, after spending 2days on this one function alone ( there are about 150 functions in total with this program) i finally figured out what it actually does, supposedly this function takes various bits of information from acceleration, grade, velocity, and so on and provides a realistic view of how a train is supposed to run and compares it with an original source file. My problem is that NONE OF THEM ARE NAMED PROPERLY. It honestly looks like some guy sat down and just started using variable names without regards to naming them based on what they do. I mean for goodness sakes the function name is testfunction1, come on he couldn't have named it something like TrainAnalysis or something appropriate? As for the whole mass of x variables the first thing you would think would be that they are different distance variables.....NOPE some of them are Velocitys, some are Acceleration rates, Some are Gradients, Some are different Motor Torques applied. This barely even qualifys as code here is another section of code from a different function, my god its completely unreadable and just punishing to even look at. If (Tk2 <> x6) Then x4 = x6 - x1 + 1 If VtStd(x4 + x2) <= VtStt(x4 + x2) Then t0 = VtStd(x1) + t4 ElseIf x2 = x7 Then t0 = t4 End If Private Function testfunction47(a, Pah1, Pah2, Ahhhs() As Long, Hfactor() As Single) Dim i, j, k, ke, kf, kk, m, x1, x2, xXxX3, X4, x5, Lunt, Toes, TkIDx As Long Dim t, t1, cv, PP0, PPlen, t3, t4 As Single Dim T9, SN, msg, TemName As String This just makes me want to puke, the "Lunt" and "Toes" variables are stupid names as well, Lunt is basically a variable for retrieving the track design length, "Toes" is the max speed of a train on that track segment. This is just impossible. Now the big dilemma is how do i even go about telling my boss that this code is so bad and so terribly written that it should just be thrown in the trash and something new should be created? To think they are trusting MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR Train Testing contracts to this program is just sickening. So how do I go about basically saying that whoever he had working on this project was a complete and total idiot and this should have never made it as a primary tool? As basically im insulting not only a former employee but a whole group of "Code Monkeys" that are supposed to maintain this program (5 people). i think this is unacceptable that this program has no structure or flow, does not make any sense with naming and does not have a single line of comments to be found. I don't want to lose my job, however I feel im between a rock and a hard place with this one program because it is so broken and such an insult to programming that it should not even be used. to think that 5 people let this slide by and said it was fine, If i was there boss I would fire them on the spot. Im just at a loss on this one, anyone have any thoughts?

Sup guys, this is my version of a ghetto shield. Made out of 2 PCI slot covers and some electrical tape. Using Kainy, I can stream at 480x800 (my phone's resolution) from all the way across my house with extremely low latency at high image/sound quality. I use the Sixaxis Controller app to connect my controller to my phone. I took these pictures with my phone, so I can't get any pictures with my phone in the contraption. I'll try to find another phone to do that (I might take a video to show off the latency, too)

I just saw that page http://www.cleverbot.com and I played a little bit with it. Then i wanned to here its thoughts on XBOX ONE and it said the following: NOTE: I don't want to kick of a "Tis c0ns0le is wAy better tahn teh other pice of ßöü$&"$%äöü!Ü$*Ö%!$Ä&Ö!Ü$Ö&" discusion. If you like the XBOX ONE better than PS4 thats fine. I'm a PC gamer anyway.

But now I can't sign into GfWL (apparently it still exists) and I can't save ANYTHING for some unknown reason. Does anyone know a fix for this kind of thing? Error I'm getting down below All help is VERY much appreciated, and have a nice day. -Kaasgeelheid ps I'm quite pissed off as you can tell

Hey guys, My name is ZeoTechCenter and I also go by this on YouTube. I'm not here to advertise my channel, I'm simply here because I'm curious as to what kind of technology/computer videos you want to see. As a potential viewer your opinion would really help out. Often one of the hardest things to come up with are ideas for videos and by getting your thoughts it can really help me out and get you the kind of content you want to see. Now I'm no Linus or anything, I'm small time at this point. However I would really like to expand my channel and I can only do that by uploading more videos. Feel free to be as vague or specific as you like, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Simply tell me what you would like to learn how to do or what would you like reviewed. Thank you so much for your time, I truly appreciate it. Damian,

Hi guys, Because my incredibly cheap Sony IEMs are dying as we speak (rip), I'm looking into buying a bit higher quality IEM than those $10 things that break in the first month of heavy use. Right now I own the Philips Uptown and the DT770 and since they're both pretty V shaped, I'm actually looking for something else. Don't know what exactly. I mainly listen to Radiohead and that kind of stuff. Budget. Very Important. 50 euro's, at www.bol.com preferrably. I know I'm limiting myself with this site but I just won a 10 euro giftcard and I really want to use it. (J33s are 60 euro's - worth going for?) All suggestions are very much appreciated!

So I'm trying to change my router to the TP Link C7 but I can't connect to the router settings (you know when you type 192.161.1.1 into the address bar) According to the user manual I just go to tplinklogin.net. I am currently still connected to the verizon router. This worked when I first tried it but not anymore. Sloutions?
