Hi, i have been searching for this and can't really find a straight answer. I build a ryzen workstation for video editing 1700x asus x370 prime corsair CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 gtx 1070 samsung 960 evo my Problem is that whenever I try to run the memory at its max intended speed 2933 the system won't boot at all. Can't even access bios anymore until I do a cmos reset. my question is, would it make a difference if I run two 16gb kits (4x8gb) like two of those kits http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-lpx-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-dram-3000mhz-c15-memory-kit-black-cmk16gx4m2b3000c15 which are recommended and tested by corsair? whenever people write that the achived higher memory speeds with ryzen they use a max of 16gb or or is it just a matter of waiting for future bios updates?

Hey all, I've been trying to figure out, without a fan controller, if it's possible to have two fans connected to the one motherboard control point. In this specific case, my motherboard has two chasis points, andmy chasis has 4 fans. If you've got spefici examples from online stores, please let me know amd if it's not a commercial option, is it possible to do a wire mod to achieve this? I'd have two fans on the top and back in the same port, and the two front fans in the other port. Thanks on advanced. (I'm askimg here, because I've spent a few days checking, but haven't found a solution yet)

I've been wanting to build a Ryzen system for a good long while now. The only thing holding me back from pulling the proverbial trigger is a complete lack of Micro ATX X370 boards. Hell, I'd take a half decent B350 from ASUS, but none seem to exist. Are they working on it? I can't tell.

Hello, I was really confused regarding which x370 board to buy. I looking for a balance between overclocking and looks. Correctly im looking at the ASrock K4, Aorus K5 and the Asus Prime-Pro.

Hello I'm searching for a good ATX motherboard for my next build. The CPU will probably be a R5 1600. I started searching for B350 boards but like every board has something I don't like about it. The ceapest choice would be the ASUS Prime B350-Plus for about 80€ shipped since it's on sale at the moment. And I would would already need a fan splitter since this board has only 3 fan connectors (including the one for the CPU fan) and I have 3 case fans. This board is really inexpensive but I know that the R5 1600 with the board I'll buy will be used for a very long time if they don't break (and even if I upgrade to a better CPU, I'll probably reuse this combo). The MSI Gaming B350 Pro Carbon and Krait Gaming have good VRMs as far as I know. I want to OC the CPU but I probably won't push it to its limit. And the price difference between one of those two MSI boards and the ASUS Prime X370-Pro isn't that big and I really like this ASUS board. But it costs about 145€ and so the price difference between this one and their B350-Plus is huge. And even though I really appreciate all the additional features X370 board has, I'm not interested in multi GPU configurations at all and therefore pairing a X370 board with a R5 1600 feels a bit unreasonable. I also checked out the ASRock B350 but the RAM QVL isn't very big compared to ASUS QVL. I would like to hear your opinion on which mainboard I should buy and please leave a reason for your choice.

Just found a bug on the latest versions of the bios for my msi x370 sli plus bios. This affects versions 3.2 and up on the bios. The bug involves setting the multiplier in the bios. When a manual multiplier is set it will require the actual frequency and not the multiplier itself. So if you entered 3700 into the multiplier box it would put in a multiplier of 37 or a ~3700mhz clock speed. However, if you input 37 into the box it would display 3700 when you press enter and would show up as having a clock speed of 3700mhz in the os and the bios, but this would be incorrect. I think it would believe you are requesting a clock speed of just 37mhz and set the multiplier as low as the board supports to match your request which on my board is 15.5 or a 1550mhz clock speed even though it is displaying otherwise. This bug will become apparent if you use a monitoring program like cpu-z or ryzen master which will display the correct clock speed and multiplier of the board. This may not be a very bad bug as it can be solved by filling out all 4 multiplier numbers in the box before pressing enter, but can be frustrating nonetheless. Right now I can only confirm that this affects the x370 sli bios, but I have read of other people with b350 motherboards from msi having similar issues. If you have an msi motherboard you should probably check to see if it is effected. I do not know if this is already known and being fixed or not. Please let me know if it is.

The MSI X370 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM is currently retailing at $288.99 on the other side MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON is "only" - $173.00 Both mobos are x370, both carry dual m.2 for RAID 0... so it worth to spend an extra $116 for TITANIUM?

Trying to get my 1800X stable at 4ghz using Asus Realbench/X264, and it's having none of it. X264 (normal priority, 16 threads) still couldn't pass more than two loops with CPU-Z reporting 1.44v! That was at 3.975ghz. VCore was set to 1.425v with high LLC, hence the load voltage of 1.44v. Am I doing something wrong? Memory is XMP enabled (3200 @ 1.35v). SOC is set to 1.2v with everything else on auto. HPET enabled and Windows high performance plan enabled. This is on a Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 btw, which is no slouch of a board. Either I lost the lottery bad, or it's me...

Anyone know of a store (brick-and-mortar or online) in the US that actually has Asrock X370 Taichi boards (not auction)? Seems like everyone local and many online shops are out. Either they're having trouble keeping them in stock because of popularity or Asrock isn't shipping enough to keep up demand I guess.

So does somebody know what x370 boards support iommu? What Ryzen x370 motherboards are compatible with iommu.

Hi I have just built most of my new PC excluding CPU and cooler due to the fact I'm waiting on the 1600X, however I just wanted to check if all the fans and LEDs would turn on for a second like they do on my old z87 machine without a CPU, however I got absolutely nothing, not even the power LED on my RX 480 came on, is this normal behaviour for this board to exhibit without a CPU or do I have a dead component as I have gone over every connection and it all looks fine, thanks for your help and time

so, i just finished building my new pc. but when i first get into the bios it immediately reports my CPU being at 80 degrees Celsius. so i updated my BIOS in the hope that it would fix it. but nope, issue still remains. what makes it even weirder is that when i am in the BIOS for a few minutes the temperatures only get lower until they reach a temperature of around 75. it looks like my temps are inverted though i am not sure that is the actual case. So my question was if any other users are experiencing the same issue. and if there might be a software fix for it. if not i think i will have to RMA some parts but i am not sure which. because of my understanding the CPU does these temperature measurements. but the motherboard displays them. so if there is no software fix. which of the 2 should i RMA. or should i RMA them both?

My old am3 system died a few days ago so I started a new build with an AMD Ryzen r7 1800x. I have it all assembled and when I turned it on I got the Q code "AD" (Ready To Boot Event) on my Crosshair VI Hero motherboard. The "CPU Ready" LED indicator lights show that my processor is ready, but the "Q LED" DRAM light stays lit, meaning there is a problem with my memory. I am using Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400mhz (4x8gb) kit. I have tried to boot with all slots populated, 2 slots populated, and 1 slot populated. I have also tried different stick combinations, with all sticks being tested. Do I maybe just have dead memory? Or is it a motherboard problem? I have no real way to test it. Any input would be appreciated. Worth mentioning. Using the boot ssd from my old system. So I've got me an Asus Prime x370-Pro and a Ryzen 1800x. I'm currently using this Ballistix Tactical 16GB kit, but only because all my other ram doesn't work with Ryzen and this board. Is there anyone out there using a 64GB kit (4x16GB) with the Prime x370-Pro, or really any Ryzen board? I'd check the QVL but it's not reliable seeing as a couple of my other kits are on this list and they don't work with the board. *edit* Please don't just tell me I should stick with 16 or 32GB. I've upgraded from a 64GB machine to this one, and I need a kit that works with Ryzen. I'm not using this just for gaming FYI.

Hi, I am pretty new at memory overclocking and therefore am not too sure about how to get my G.Skill 2x8GB 3000mhz C16 kit as high as I can on my 1600X ryzen system with ASUS X370 PRO motherboard, this has the newest 604 Bios, so far I have got the following setup and am not sure how to push memory speeds further: Ryzen 5 1600X @ 4Ghz 1.39v G.Skill Trident Z RGB CL16 3000Mhz 2x8GB @ 2400 16-18-18-38-18 ~ 1.375V ASUS X370 Prime PRO BIOS: 604 SOC @ 1.1v

I am currently waiting for the announced b350 variant of msi's carbon motherboard thinking to myself that I would be saving myself some money going for b350 rather than x370. I really have no future plans for a multi-gpu set up and if I was going to go multi-gpu I would more than likely be doing xfire rather than sli. The caveat however is how long I will be waiting for the b350 to come out. What are you opinions between saving the money vs getting features that I may or may not use? The longest I could possibly wait for this build would be beginning of June.

I'm upgrading to a ryzen 1700, and i'm looking for a new mother board. I am looking into this motherboard http://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X370 Killer SLIac/index.asp. I've heard that it can't keep the ram at 3200 MHz and will down-clock it. I was wondering if this is true, and if it is consistent across the board with all these mobos.

It's for schoolwork, video-editing and gaming. Dark base Pro 900 Corsair RM750x Western Digital Blue SSD Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX So the question is: What CPU / Chipset do you recommend, What cooler do you recommend and What case do you recommend?

Use for the system - 3D animation/modeling and gaming software i use - Maya/3DS max/Z brush/premiere pro/AfterEffects/few render engines That sort of stuff Country - INDIA NEW BUILD *CPU - Ryzen R7 1700 (hopefully oc it to 4.0 or 3.9 ghz) *Cooler - Noctua Nh d15 (Is it good enough for the oc) *MOBO - ASROCk X370 taichi *GPU - Gtx 1070 or vega (What do you guys think) *PSU - corsair CS750M (already own) *ssd - Samsung 850 evo (Also Have) *RAM - 32 GB (2 X 16) I wanna clock it to 3200 mhz.Now this is where i really need help due to ryzen performance increase with high ram speed But it also has compatibility issues.

This is a rant, just comment what you want in your ideal ryzen mobo. This first wave of ryzen motherboards definitely feels underwhelming, though thankfully many bios updates are patching in huge gains really quickly. That said even on the high end x370 chipset many boards aren't doing much with what they've got at hand. Many only have 1 m.2 with only a few having 2, they pick the same setup of pcie slots and then throw the rest at sata ports and call it a day. Though it seems they're not giving it a premium feel and I've noticed the same with asus and asrock where even their premium line like the crosshair just doesn't feel like it's up to snuff compared to it's previous gen in terms of components and selection. Consider Asus going with TI for their chokes, not that TI is bad only it's clearly mid tier and they're not the only ones that have done this low quality capacitors, mosfets, chokes, fewer vrm phases and what they do have is also lower end compared to previous iterations. It's no surprise from what I see as to why nobody can get stable overclocks they're dealing with terrible quality leading to terrible stability. I understand nobody really wants to put their best foot forward before they even know what they're dealing with but I'd have though at least one manufacturer would have tried. I also don't understand why so many x370 boards have integrated video ports they just don't belong on full atx boards, this is knowledge from over a decade ago, if it's a full atx let them get a dedicated gpu, they're probably doing so either way so don't waste the space and chipset. both msi and asus kicked their ceramic heat spreaders and their killer nic which might not make any difference over an intel nic but it's worth noting all the same as they were paying a touch for the killer branding which by the numbers does push boards out. None so far include a dual nic option from what I've seen and only a couple have anything like esata. And where are all my fan headers? The last few mobo's of mine all had probably at least 6 fan headers and some as many as 9. I like a gaggle of fan headers and these things are fanorexic with on average 4 and it's scary how many are 3 pin and not 4. pwm might not mean much to some but I like some level of control on my fans. On top of this I'd point out that shipping a bios that is set so it won't post if a fan header is disconnected is disturbing, try hooking up a liquid aio and spend hours wondering if a board is dead only to find it just needs a bios update because it won't boot with an aio plug, that's just embarrassing. Also more boards need diagnostic led's not enough companies do that these days, asus at least listened to complaints and has them now but a few years ago that wasn't the case. Of course asus is doing stupid things themselves with things like 3d printed item mounting points for make your own cable cover, come on. It's not bad but it's not exactly a selling feature to be emphasized. I get everyone wants rgb everything, but at least have the decency to include an off switch for the lights, they can get annoying. I get what's going on with overclocking I do, but it's pointless without clean stable power for every component and these sudden shutdowns are overly dramatic, but the worst offenders are the manufacturers that still don't include an easy cmos clear. I've made cmos clear switches back in the 90's I still have and occasionally break out because some manufacturer can't be bothered with a button somewhere on the motherboard or I/O and I'm not about to play around with jumpers. Also why don't more companies include physical voltage readouts for multimeters? it's not like it would hurt them unless they try to pass with shody components. It's much better to know the real readout and measure droop yourself than rely on the digital reads. Then there's the question of how many companies don't include enough thermal sensors if any especially when they're cutting back on adequate cooling where it's needed most.

i m totally confused over my chose to buy new ram for my ryzen build at first i was going to buy g skill trident z DDR4 3200mhz but when i went to buy it the shopkeeper said it will not work on my ryzen build which by the way will be built on msi x370 pro gaming carbon. then he said it will only work with g skill ripjaws and said no other ram will work with it . i really wanted to buy g skill trident z but i do not want to waste that huge ammount of money and they would not take it back or replace it if it does not works. plz help can any body suggest the rams which r compatible with ryzen and my motherboard a whole list of rams which r compatible with it will be good. plz help

I just built a pc with the asus x370 pro. I cant seem to find anywhere to download aura sync and stuff like that. And btw how do you control the rgb ring on the wraith spire.

Hey there guys - as many people these days, I also plan to go with AMD Ryzen CPU as my next upgrade path (my old i7 4770K is good, but my Z87 MBO is acting a bit and getting new one is tricky). And for that I would love to get also new motherboard. While I decided to go with R7 1700 and just overclock it (and save around €200 for same performance and spend that extra on high-end MBO), with motherboards it is a tiny bit trickier to pick one. After some research I narrowed it down to two boards. Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero (AM4) (https://www.alza.sk/en/asus-rog-crosshair-vi-hero-d4737577.htm) Gigabyte Aorus AX370 Gaming K7 (AM4) (https://www.alza.sk/en/gigabyte-aorus-ax370-gaming-k7-d4744790.htm Because I have ability to get them both for around same price (despite what links I posted say) it really depends on "What is better". And that's what I would love to hear from you guys - which board is in your opinion and experience (if you have one or both of these) better? Should I grab Asus for more USB and better audio (+ RGB sync with my Asus GPU) or go with Gigabytes slightly better aesthetics, more sturdy PCIe and HDMI output if I'll ever need it (for example for APU if Ryzen/GPU breaks)? What are pros and cons both of them in your opinion?Thanks for the help

Hardware: Ryzen 1700X ASRock Taichi X370 motherboard Corsair Vengeance LED 3200Mhz 16Gb (2x8) (I have only 1 stick plugged into the A2 slot) Geforce 8800GTS eVGA supernova 1050GS So just got the cpu/motherboard/ram combo. I did the smart thing and am running it outside before I actually install everything. However the system does not seem to be posting as it's cycling on these error codes, I'm just upgrading to ddr4 so I don't have another set of ram to test with. Afaik on the first boot the ram shouldn't be running on 3200mhz just yet, furthermore I have seen online people successfully running ryzen with the corsair vengeance led kits.
