  1. Hello: First of all, thank you for your time and for trying to help me out. My macbook pro is a 13" (Late 2011) version. Ive had it for 5 years now. I do not use this macbook for gaming only, I do a lot of web browsing and college stuff. I know a very little about Microsoft computers but I really know nothing about Mac computers. During all this time I replaced the battery once, and replaced the original HDD for an SSD. SPECS: OS X El Capitan (Version 10.11.6) Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (2 memory slots) Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB Storage: 500GB SSD SATA (This one I bought it because the original one died) Link to full specs page: https://support.apple.com/kb/sp645?locale=en_US The game I play is World of Warcraft, and it ran perfectly all these years except now. It still runs well but when I play the laptop get very hot; it also is lags a little bit when opening and closing the game, and during loading screens. And it lags a lot when Im in crowded zones in-game. Anyways, my dilemma: Is there any way I could eliminate or reduce the heat when playing? Is there any way I could improve my gaming performance and eliminate the lag or reduce it significantly? If so, what is convenient to do? Add more RAM? I do not know if it is possible to add graphics card to a macbook pro. Should I improve this macbook? Or save and buy Windows computer or build my own system? Im open to all suggestions. BUDGET: $250-300 NOTE: I plan to play World of Warcraft for about 1-2 years more, so thats is why I do not want to spend much. Again, thank you!
  2. I feel like I should be about to play WoW on Ultra setting for the rig I built 3 years ago. When I'm in the new zones like Tanaan Jungle I'm only getting 22fps which floors me. 4. Anyone here play on Doomhammer, Sisters of Elune, or Greymane servers on wow? Also I am looking for a fun guild to join. I am a big fan of warcraft, but I hate playing it alone. Help me here people. Please? P.S. I do have a mic and not against voice chat. No camera yet, so sadly no video chat but voice is good enough anyways!
  5. Me and two other friends, all of us are vets of wow, decided we wanted to level up some characters to level 70 to run through the best parts of wow. We will be doing the burning crusade raids, then if we all have fun, we will move on to the lich king raids, as these are our two favorite expansions. We got a few more people, but still need some more members so that we can clear raids at level 70. You need to be in the US and speak english. Hit like 15 by June 20th (though that is flexible). Here is the link to our subreddit with more info. https://www.reddit.com/r/PigboyandFriends/comments/4nuxsh/welcome_to_pigboy_and_friends/ Leave a comment if you're interested
  6. would an intel compute stick be able to handle wow in low settings or like tf2 or something sorry for being so specific and mabey if the question is dumb but im wondering if it is possible
  7. Hi guys! No you didn't misread the title! PC Build by an 11 year old! I am 11 and my brothers who are 23 need me to help with their PCs (which are also custom built). I currently have a laptop with the following specs: Intel i5-3210M @ 2.5GHz (Quad-Core) 1TB WD HDD 8GB RAM I want a PC that can play Minecraft, World of Warcraft and other games fairly well. 8. It's not uncommon at all to use music (from other movies, shows, or composing groups that make music specifically for trailers) that is not made for the film being teased, advertised, trailered?, etc. I have a very good memory for soundtracks, scripts, and game music so long as I am familiar with the content it goes with. I recognized the exact of the movie score used in the Warcraft trailer right away. So I wanted to share the source with anyone else who enjoys soundtracks and wanted to know what the music was. Here it is: 300 Rise of an Empire - IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1253863/?ref_=nv_sr_2 I don't care about WoW or if the movie is good, but I think the music in the teaser is good and I know the source anddecided to share for anyone else who liked the music.
  9. Hello, I have a really weird problem. The computer (i7-4930K, GTX770, GA-X79-UP4, 32G of Corsair Dominator RAM, 1150W of power supply) turns off after random amount of time (20~60 minutes) of playing World of Warcraft (and occasionally Divinity: Original Sin). After that it stays off for about 10 minutes, any attempts to turn it on within that amount of time fail. After 10 minutes pass, it automatically turns on. Nothing else makes it shut down, including various stress tests for CPU / GPU. No amount of 3D rendering in 3DSMax (scenes with more than 4M polygons) does that either. Running Witcher 3, a game far more demanding, does not result in that either. What has been checked: VRAM is ok, RAM is fine, CPU / GPU overheating is not present throughout all the benchmarks and stress tests applied (including while running wow). Resetting BIOS / UEFI settings to safe factory defaults didn't change anything. All the hardware looks fine, no melting or expanding of capacitors present (or any other forms of visible damage).
  10. Hello im bored to shit since wow is dead and im waiting for the new expansion and ive been trying out some games that i bought from sales like far cry 3 witch keep in mind is a great game im still trying to tackle the game but it doesnt feel like my type of game somehow (this sounds retarded ik) the thing is im used to progression games like mmos like wow but the thing is i dont want to start new and start playin new mmos since i dont feel like doing new progression becuse at the end of the day when Legion gets released i will probs forget about that game. And that feels like loss of effort and work into that game if you know what im sayin. so my question is wtf iam supposed to do ive tried doing some retarded MEME videos witch worked out pretty well and i enjoy doing it and soon ill be starting to stream some random games or perhaps trying to help peapol out in wow if anny one is even playin. but yes if you have anny suggestions on what i can do please tell me. it might be me being burnt out from playing games but i did take a 2 week break from the computer since im getting a new room witch is getting *built up*. but i dont feel that same excitment playin a game. The only thing i seem to enjoy is to help peapol out especailly in wow i guess. Hey guys i'm having a bit of a problem i just bought an XFX r9 380 4GB, i play World of Warcraft i raid everyweek and my new gpu keeps downclocking while raiding and the gpu load fluctuates from 100% to 0%, my fps go down to 25 so is pretty unplayable, i was really surprised because i had a GTX 650 TI Boost and it had more fps. So i started checking the clocks and i saw that when i'm inside my garrison or leveling where there's little to no action the clock is at full speed, but when i step into Stormshield or a raid the clock goes down to 400-500 MHz. here's the gpu z in WoW http://imgur.com/Kg8Pb2U here's the gpu z in Guild Wars 2 another MMO http://imgur.com/bN9Xqif How can i fix this? My specs are: i5 2500k @ 4ghz with CM Hyper 212 Evo 8 gb ram PSU EVGA 600w Bronze i'm using the latest AMD Crimson Drivers (Beta) PS. this is the only game that i'm having trouble with, fallout 4 and shadow of mordor run well with full clock speed. I just changed the GPU everything else is the same
  12. Hello there, I have no idea where to post this thread, nor I have any idea about mobile CPU's and GPU's. The time has come that I'd have to get rid of my system and get myself something a bit more portable. I do a lot of gaming, I mainly play World of Warcraft and it's the only game I really want to run completely maxed out, with 2x or 4x msaa, depending on how much is needed on a 17.3" screen. Other than that, I'm playing some other games like gta, where I don't really mind tweaking down the settings a little bit, while I also do a fair bit of 3d modelling and mechanical design. The gaming laptop I was looking for was the Asus ROG G751JY since it features tons of RAM, 4720hq, SSD, HDD and a 980m 4GB GPU, connected to a G-sync display which is awesome for a game that is bound to deep below 60fps at certain moments. My biggest concern is, will it be able to run world of warcraft on ultra settings with 2x or 4x msaa, still having that steady 60fps at most of the times? Is there anyone out there playing games on this laptop, how well does it perform? Kind regards.
  13. Hi guys, First of all my PC specs are: MSI z97 mpower 2 x GTX 980 in SLI (reference) windows 7 4790k (OC @4,6ghz) 1000W PSU 16GB G Skill Ram AOC 2460pg G'Sync 144Hz Corsair 780T case Basically when I play World of Warcraft I am getting these weird stutters/fps drops where the game feels like it stops for a millisecond and continues again. I have fraps and the FPS drops during this moment and then recovers back again instantly. I'm not sure when this happens or how frequent but it is definitely noticeable and annoying, I run around the game and bam it happens. It also happens every time I ENTER the game world for the first time after opening it. This does not seem to happen in other games, PLEASE HELP ME Thanks
  14. Me and my skype buddies are starting a World of Warcraft raiding guild. There is 6 of us and we are looking to expand to up to 20 people to hopefully run mythic in the very near future. Pm me for schedule or any other information you want answered. as of now we are looking for all specs so any role is welcome. If there is an outstanding amount of people trying for one role the current 6 of us will host counsel to decide the accepted person.
  15. Blizzard recently announced that WoW is down to 5.6 millions subscribers. People have been preaching about the demise of WoW for a long time but never before have subscribers dropped so rapidly. Blizzard really needs this expansion to gain back subscribers, and more importantly hold on to them until the next one. 16. Decided it was finally time for my second build. This will be mainly used for freelance photography, light video editing, web surfing, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Eve Online, and GTA V. I'll get pretty good deals at work on memory, cooling, PSU, and GPU. Should only have to order the case, CPU, and Mobo. Already have a Razer Deathstalker & Naga, and an Acer S271HL. I feel pretty good about this build, just wanted to get some other opinions. 17. Hello Everyone. I’m coming over from Tom’s Hardware Forums. I’ve heard a lot of good things from Linus’ forums so I thought I would give it a shot. I have been building computers for many, many years but still lack some fundamentals I think. I guess what I’m saying is I’m not going to present myself as a know-it-all because I believe that everyone has more to learn… Though I am experienced in I.T. as a hobby and nothing more. My question may be simple or could become more complex as the thread goes on… Basically I have many questions regarding my hardware and how it is utilized in games. Specifically, World of Warcraft. For example: Why isn’t my CPU and GPU utilization maxing out before I reach my fps cap? Is there a bottleneck I’m not seeing? How does one test their bottlenecks? I know that my FX 6300 is holding me back a lot compared to an Intel 4790K and above (Or, in all honesty… some i3s perform better than my 6300 *sigh* ) I would like to reference to my old post from Tom’s if I could… Omitting the Old hardware for the new of course… The main problem still persists a year later. In a desperate attempt to eliminate any possible issues, I reseated my processor last night, putting fresh AS5 on it after a thorough cleaning. I did not tint the chip or the heatsink.. though I was tempted and will do it in the future. I have seen a drop in 5c since as well as expect a 5-10c drop over the course of the 200 hour break-in process. 18. So recently I've been playing WoW and I've tried the Rogue which is my favorite play style. Yet it's super hard and I'm not digging it. So I was wondering if a monk would be good or stick with the classic hunter. Also the human race is REALLY boring so I was wondering if I should be an orc or panderian.
  19. What's up community!!! I just made a game on pretend you're xyzzy called Cards Against Azeroth and I'm currently hosting a game right now on the Biggest, Blackest Dick server. If you're interested, look for my name "JurucneNK" on the aforementioned server and on the web address. Please Note If you haven't played World of Warcraft and/or you find Cards Against Humanity in general offensive, then you shouldn't join whatsoever. You have been warned.
  20. So I was browsing Amazon and I came along these mice which one is the best as I've never used mice with more than 2 buttons. 21. When buying the Star Craft 2 Battle Chest this saturday I recieved "Guest Passes" for WoW and StarCraft 2. What are these? What is the diffrences between this and the free trial version it comes with.
  22. For those slow on the uptake.. (like me (i only found out 2 days ago)) xmas has come early to Australia. We recieved a fantastic pressie from Blizzard... Our own Oceanic server YAY Oceanic :-)))) Dropping lag times from an average of 190ms (in my case) to 34ms Not sure it will make much difference to me, being a PvE-er, but should help oceanic PvP-ers to be a little more competitive when they come up againt other x-realm PvP-ers, instead of getting 1 shot in to other realm players multiple shots. THANKS BLIZZ
  23. it's been 10 years since the most epic MMO was introduced to this world WOW!, In order to celebrate World of Warcraft’s 10-year anniversary Blizzard has created a special in-game event that begins Friday, November 21st and lasts until Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. The event consists of the three activities Maximum Molten Core One of WoW’s classic 40-player dungeons, Molten Core, will be available in Raid Finder during the anniversary period for level 100 players. Making it through the underground gauntlet and defeating Ragnaros will reward players with a Core Hound mount and a Warlords of Draenor Raid Finder–quality helm (100% guaranteed!). Southshore vs. Tarren Mill—The Battle Continues To recapture the feeling of the endless tug-of-war of early WoW PvP, we’ll be opening a Team Deathmatch–style Battleground based on the timeless struggle between Southshore and Tarren Mill. We’ll have two different brackets for players to take part in: one for levels 90–99 characters and another for level 100. Unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat. A win will gain you a shiny new title: either Tarren Mill Terror for the Alliance or Southshore Slayer for the Horde. Onward into Warlords of Draenor With the release of Warlords of Draenor, all unrated PvP Battlegrounds, Skirmishes, and other unrated PvP activities will be available immediately. The new rated season will begin Tuesday, December 2 at 8 a.m. PST. We also wanted to make sure that everyone had time to level up before we opened our first Raid dungeon, Highmaul, in Normal and Heroic modes. These will open at the same time as the rated PvP season (December 2), with Raid Finder and Mythic modes opening the following week. We’ll provide a complete schedule in the future for those who wish to start planning their new Raid calendars. Blizzard is also throwing in a free Molten Corgi pet for anyone who logs in to World of Warcraft during this period. The latest World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor will be released on November 13th, shortly before the 10- year anniversary event kicks in.. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/15787801/preparing-to-launch-warlords-of-draenor-celebrate-10-years-of-world-of-warcraft-9-10-2014 http://www.loadthegame.com/2014/09/12/world-warcraft-10-year-anniversary-event-detailed-blizzard/
  24. Hello peoples, I want to do some wow videos and I looked for this model viewer. I want to do this as hobby and at the moment is for nothing other than entertaining myself and my guild. I went to the website https://wowmodelviewer.atlassian.net/wiki/display/WMV/Download+WoW+Model+Viewer to download the latest stable version, the file is downloaded and my protection software, symantec end point, tell me the file is infected and gives me an WS.Reputation.1 warning. I did a couple of google searches to find any information on this, since the information about WS.Reputation.1 said that it is based on 'customer reviews' and that is why it has a low score. I found no post anywhere about people saying that there is anything malicious about this software and I watch wow machinima from time to time and I know that wowmodelviewer is one of the pieces of software some of the guys/gals use for their stuff. Anyways, I want to know if any of yall here have any info/recommendation/etc for me. Thanks
