Hi I'm wondering if anyone has tried to mount the EK a240g waterblock to a NVIDIA 9 series reference boards? I just got a Titan X (Maxwell) and I was looking at getting the EK kit. I know it fits all 10 series reference boards but given how similar the 10 and 9 series reference boards screws are I was thinking the waterblock might fit. It appears that all but one or two screws align so it might not but I just want to check. If anyone has tried this or can confirm that would be great.

So I just received my 1080 ti Strix block from EK, but for some reason I'm just curious why do some EK waterblocks dont have the silver cover thing on the block, meanwhile others do? I am planning to mount this vertically, so i do want to show off the whole fluid running in the block if possible, would be nice if thats actually removeable and doesnt really serve any purpose. ------- My block ------- Other EK blocks

Hey, Im new to the forum, i hope this is the right place to ask. I've got my Gaming rig for a while now (2-3 years), and i just started to think about watercooling. So i went looking on EK for a custom loop, only to see that they discontinued production of the Full-cover waterblocks for the reference 980. which i have the Zotac gtx 980 amp. Does anybody know where i can still find one? or can give me another good option for a full cover block? thanks in advance, benny

Could a motherboard VRM and Chipset water block be used just as a passive cooler without water? Like could one be bought and installed just for cosmetics without having water ran through it and not fry a motherboard? Most motherboards VRMs and Chipsets are passively cooled so could this be done without frying a motherboard? The block in question would be this EKWB one. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fb-kit-ga-x99-acetal-nickel

Hi All I decided to tear down my old 295x2 and give it a thorough clean. It was pretty unbelievable how much dust was inside and how solid the thermal paste and pads were in some areas... I ordered some new thermal pads and cleaned everything up, not looking shiny with some rust on a switch but mostly everything is great. What wasn't great however were the pumps/blocks. I'm not sure if them sitting for such a long time and then being moved caused an issue but they were starting to leak slightly when moving the card. I decided to take them apart to drain and think about the syringe refill method but there was a lot of crap coming out, brown water and sediment etc so I'm not confident in their use anymore. I had a look on ebay etc for old waterblocks people might have but there's nothing worldwide apparently and even with checking suppliers, obviously their stock is gone with it being an old card. I think I can get a couple of Asetek AIOs working based on the cables used and the entry/exit of the tubes but was thinking of other solutions before committing to an old card as more of a project. Might be a longshot but anybody got a waterblock for this they no longer need, dead card maybe? Regards!

Need to make sure that this waterblock will fit the graphics card. EK configure wont let me check, error with photos. Gpu water will be EK Vector RTX RE RGB - Nickel + Acetal. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-vector-rtx-re-rgb-nickel-acetal and graphics card. EVGA RTX2070 Super Black 8GB GDDR6. https://www.ple.com.au/Products/636653/EVGA-RTX2070-Super-Black-8GB-GDDR6. And what about the backplate, is that universal for 2070 and 2080?

Hi guys, Is there a waterblock out there that is compatible with this GPU? https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-2070-super-rtx-2070-super-ventus-oc/p/N82E16814137438?Item=N82E16814137438 I would like to eventually get into watercooling my PC but I can't find any blocks explicitly listed to work on this GPU. I've found several for this card just not the super version. Would those work on this? Thanks!

After watching We Built a CPU Water Cooler! and getting triggered, I thought I should make a waterblock with the machines I have at home. But as most internet haters I was lazy, I thought it seemed like a lot of work and shelved the idea. As often happens, things changed and I had to cool a thing for my internship. Instead of going out and buying a stock one (for at least $50) or waiting for one from China I decided to pick up the idea of making my own. The design is a simple take on the fin style waterblock. Since I don’t want to cut “slots” (full width cuts with the endmill) I decided on 7 thick fins with relatively large gap between them. The fin arrangement gives about 3 times the surface area compared to the ones used in the video. To simplify the machining, I just went with a basic acrylic lid with some threads and a chamfer on the top edge. I don’t have the money or time to get real fittings so I just drilled some holes. I started off with some 10mm aluminum barstock. Yeah copper would have about double the performance but I didn’t have any lying around. The first operation was just machining the holes in the aluminum block. Operation 1_1.mp4 To hold down the barstock I used some clamps. This is how it looked after the first operation. For the second operation I added some screw to the model before generating the toolpaths. This assures no collisions as I would need screws to hold the piece down. Operation 2_2.mp4 I used a tapered ballnose with a 0.75radius and 4mm shank, originally I was going to use a 1mm radius but it got clogged and broke. The coating (TiAlN) isn’t optimal for aluminum. This was my setup. Since I mostly machine wood, and plastics I really lack the stuff needed to do it properly (cooling, airblast, waterproof buildsurface). I used a spray bottle with a mixture of oil, water and dish soap(20%, 75%, 5%). The whole thing took like 4h, I could have sped it up dramatically by first roughing out with a larger endmill before the tapered one. This is how it looked before the final cutout pass. And this is the aftermath. This is the surface finishing after machining. I left the rough surface because it gives a larger area in contact with the water (not because it would be a big pain in the ass to swap tool to make the bottom surface flat). The acrylic lid was easy to machine. I used a 2-flute 6mm endmill and relatively deep cut per tooth to minimize the heating and risk of gumming up. Operation 3_1.mp4 This is how it looked after machining. This is the end result. By the time the photos were taken it has been running for a few days (until my crappy little pump died). Since I don’t have any real fittings I don’t want to actually cool my pc with it but if there’s any interest I can probably make a new one for a raspberry pi. I had to varnish the outside surface (not the cold side) too keep the aluminum from oxidizing. Thanks for reading, if you have any questions feel free to ask them, i'll try to answer everything. 3D model and files: https://a360.co/2JxkbUB

I had a plan to upgrading my 8700K into 9900K, my system is : Z370 F Strix 16X2gb DDR4 Vengeance RGB Gigabyte windforce 2080Ti bitfenix whisper 750W Phanteks p400 open loop cooler : -Thermaltake W1 waterblock -Enermax Neochanger pump res combo -barrow 34mm 240mm rad single wave -120mm Cooler master air pressure fans the question is, could my open loop defeat it? In this case i stick with stock clock and stock voltage

phanteks Phanteks Glacier C399a - RGB Issue
Yolanda posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hey there, So i am running with a Phanteks Glacier C399a for an AMD Threadripper and most of the RBG syncs with Aura Sync, however there is one light on it that is red and has been for a while. I ran the system for about 3 months fine with all lights syncying fine and then one day last month one single light on the waterblock went red and one on the resiviour did also. Ive tried everything i can think of to fix it, i have checked plugs on the board, i have uninstalled aura sync and re downloaded it but ive looked online and there is nothing that i can see about this problem and im wondering if its a really simple fix or a faulty product? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.- 1 reply

Today I am asking about a waterblock for my GPU. I have the EVGA GTX 1060 6GB Superclocked and it is a smaller model, as shown here: Due to the single fan, it tends to get very loud and thermal throttle. I've looked everywhere on the internet, but every answer is the obligatory, unhelpful "why?". All I've found is this "universal block", but it only works with the 900/800/700 series of cards. Can anybody help me out here?

Is their any 1/2 inch water blocks out their? I am thinking of doing a custom cooling build with a 1/2 inch tube. The cheaper, the better. Thanks!

I've recently been thinking about a custom water cooling loop for my computer, and I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I really want to cool my graphics card, an Asus ROG Strix RX 580 8 GB, but if I do I want a full cover block. Unfortunately I'm not sure where to look or what brands even offer them at decent quality. I realize that most major manufacturers aren't interested in making blocks for the RX 5xx series, but could someone point me in the right direction?

So don't know if this question would go here or in the GPU section but here goes. I'm finally around the point where I can build a custom loop, so building a parts list. I am wondering if anyone here knows how similar the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC PCB is to the other ASUS ROG Strix RTX line and if a waterblock for the 2070 or 2080 flavor would fit and function on the 2060? I'd love to include the GPU into the line, and from looking at PCB layouts online the look very similar but I have zero experience with water-cooling. Currently don't see a waterblock available for the 2060, and I'm aware that a waterblock isn't going to do a ton for thermals for a mid-range card, but a consistent look in my build would what I'm shooting for. Any thoughts, insights or confirmation/damnation of the question?

Hello guys! how are y'all doing? I start this topic to ask you a honest opinion on my build... Sorry no photos for now but they will come once done Long story short m pc came to be the way it is now starting about a year and a half ago... I got an Asus Z9PE-D16 off of ebay for about 70€ because socket0 had a few damaged pins (just bent for what I could see in picture and in fact they were totally fixable) board came quick and got to fix the socket... Couple evenings later once done with the fixing plopped in my E5-2680 (about 100€ also on trusty ebay on auction) and success all working... It just so happens that a guy I know was upgrading his workstation to LGA2011-3 and v4 xeons so hey 2690v2 for me it's a deal no? 250€ for the couple btw! Found also on ebay a PAIR of HD7990s that were "lightly" (don't know how much I trust that assessment but oh well) used for mining for about 175€ shipped to my door from the US to Italy (that was an expensive shipping btw holy cows it hurt a lot) So all in: Z9PE-D16 70€ 2x 2690v2 250€ 32GB DDR3 ECC 101€ 2x HD7990 175€ CM MasterBox5 50€ (new) Nilox 850w 80+ Bronze PSU 60€ (new) All for a grand total of 706€ (plus or minus don't remember the cents XD ) Cinebench R15 you ask? Well 20 cores and 40 threads at 3GHz do some work you know... 2595pts is a good bit don't you think? This is the only benchmark for now... the cards are still on the way XD

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card soon to a 5700xt. Specifically, I've been looking at Asrock's Phantom Gaming 5700xt, but I would like to watercool my next card. Knowing that the Phantom has a custom PCB, I wasn't sure if any reputable waterblock company makes a block that fits this specific card? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hey 'all I've been scrolling around internet to water cool my louqe ghost s1 And I have a gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming rev 2.0 I saw that ekwb don't make full waterblock for it Cause apparently revision 1and 2 are different. I then read on some french forum that the guy sent a email to ek and they said they aren't compatible. Anyone know what waterblock I should look into ?
