"I am currently experiencing persistent issues with my Netgear R7000 router. To address these problems, I am looking for a new router that falls within a budget of around $250. The ideal router should support a large number of devices, including smart home devices like Amazon's Alexa and smart lights, as well as handle streaming activities seamlessly. My internet connection is provided by Verizon Fios with 1gb speed, and I use the Verizon CR1000A modem. On average, I have anywhere between 20 to 40 devices connected to the network, depending on whether I have guests over or not. My current Netgear R7000 is configured as an access point with Dynamic DNS turned off to allow the modem to assign IP addresses. However, despite trying various settings, the internet keeps cutting out on this router. Interestingly, my desktop, which is directly connected to the Verizon Router/Modem combo, experiences no such issues. Given the common issues associated with the Netgear R7000, I have decided to upgrade to a more suitable router. Any recommendations for a reliable router that meets my requirements would be greatly appreciated."

There was a discovered leak from Verizon that has been reportedly been leaking customers' information, potentially for months, due to a flaw in a chat system on their website. This event caused addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, and other personal/private information to be leaked. Verizon's response: “We’re looking into an issue involving our online chat system that assists individuals who are checking on the availability of Fios services. We believe a small number of users may have seen a name, phone number, and/or a home or building address from an unrelated individual who had previously used this chat system to enter that information. Since the issue was brought to our attention, we’ve identified and isolated the problem and are working to have it resolved as quickly as possible.” TL;DR Flaw discovered in Verizon's chat system on their website Leak caused personal/private information to be leaked (Addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.) Check your security/profile & change password just in case Article: https://hotforsecurity.bitdefender.com/blog/verizon-leaks-customer-conversations-personal-data-through-flawed-chat-window-on-its-website-24708.html

Hello! The reason I'm writing this post is because I can't find any good information regarding this specific question online. I'm going to be taking an extended trip to Spain this spring and I'm currently figuring out what I'll be doing for my tech needs (international plug adapters, SIM cards, etc;) I have an iPhone 13 on Verizon in the US with my Verizon phone number, which also supports WiFi calling, and that feature has come in particularly handy in rural areas where cell service is crap. My question is, if I have an unlimited data eSIM in Spain (through a provider such as holafly, for example) would I be able to send/receive calls and texts on my US Verizon number via "Wi-Fi calling"? Or do I have to give Verizon hundreds of dollars for an international plan.

Hey all, I'm having a slight issue with my internet at the moment, I have Vodafone (Vodacom/Verizon) Fibre Unlimited and over Wi-Fi I average about 35-40 MBPS (I'm in a rural area so that's plenty for me). But recently I've been having random issues with the connection speed and ping in games (The highest I seen was in CS:GO where it hit 800ms). Windows does not detect any issue with the Wi-Fi adapter or the connection itself. Running a speedtest is a nightmare, 99% of the time it won't connect to the website and the one time it did I had 0.2MBPS down and 1.2MBPS up...Pinging Google.ie reveals I have 0% Packet loss, but the "Approximate round trip" times were crazy high: "Minimum = 322ms, Maximum = 1938ms, Average = 826ms". If I'm not mistaken that time should be around 100-150ms? The router I am using is a Vodafone (Huawei) HG658c, running on firmware version V100R001C172B230. My PC is a custom system running an i5 2500, 16GB of DDR3, a 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, an Antec VP700P (700W) PSU and Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version 1607.My Wi-Fi adapter is made by Ranlink but I don't know the actual model number of it. If anyone can help that would be amazing! Thanks in advance. Dylan.

The Asus Zenfone AR was announced at CES this year and I was wondering if anyone had any news as to what carriers the phone might show up on? I know Asus has their Zenpad Z8/10 tablets with Verizon and I was wondering if their kickass (spec-wise) phone will be hitting the red map? Google was not my friend in this search for information but if any of you lovely people know anything about it, let me know. Thanks in advance.

So Verizon began to rollout their Gigabit FiOS (Fiber Optic Service) yesterday and they already have a couple of issues... First, they are advertising the service as $70/month for Gigabit service , however in an article on Ars Technica, at roll-out some existing FiOS users who have tried to upgrade have been told that the standard price is actually closer to $200/month. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/04/verizon-bungles-launch-of-70-gigabit-plan-which-costs-more-than-70/ To make this more complicated, it appears that Verizon wants existing customers to wait until at least April 30 before swapping. As the article points out, So, what is the real price of this service? It seems to be based off what service you have right now and what you pay... Honestly, reading the article, it seems like there is a lot of miscommunication about the pricing and it is unsure if you are able to get the $70/month plan, whether it will stay at that discounted rate or whether after the first year or second year it will jump to $200/month. In addition there appear to be the typical hidden costs of equipment charges. As for the speeds you can expect (if you are in a service area that Verizon offers FiOS), you are looking at 750 Mbps to 940 Mbps downstream and 750 Mbps to 880 Mbps upstream speeds. So not quite Gbps speeds, but fairly close. I guess, good going Verizon on making a confusing scheme to launch a service... Seems like some of these details should have been clearer, but this also seems like typical business for ISPs at the moment.

DONT REPLY WITH PICS PLS Hey LTT peeps, Just received a notification from FedEx that my S8+ has shipped. Dope. Checking order status... 1 S8+ in midnight black. Dope. Wait. ...1 S8+ in midnight black +35? oh gawd, oh no. Nononono! 0_0 So... I only ordered 7 For my team. Did Verizon really make a $24,000 Order mistake? I wonder why these haven't changed their order status... (I'm sure not everyone will believe me, so im going to find a way to take a screen shot of all these with my #s blocked out.) Moving on, what do y'all think about Dex and its use with AWS? Amazon Workstations, other than being ridiculously expensive, has worked wonders in my experience. Being able to use your phone for access to a virtual machine with a keyboard and mouse is a very cool prospect... Until you see that the ethernet port on the dock is only 100Mb. Why not gigabit???

That's basically it, there's not much else to say, so on to my opinion! Well, hopefully IBM can manage this better than Verizon, and I expect that they will, seeing as how IBM often deals with things like this in their normal business. My problem is with using my Linksys E8500 and using the Verizon G1100 as a bridge for FIOS TV. I was able to get it to work just fine on Friday by releasing the DCHP lease, then plugging the cable from the ONT box to my router. I then changed the G1100's IP address to 192.168.5.1 and distribution range as the guide I read suggested to prevent interference with the router handing out LAN IPs in the same range as the G1100. Everything for FIOS TV works just fine doing this (except the mobile app for recording shows but I don't care) When I first did this everything worked just fine. I was getting a solid 850 down and 900ish up wired and a PC two rooms over from the router was getting 600+ down and 800 up on my E8500's 5GHZ WiFi. I noticed yesterday that now that Pc is only getting around 200 down and 150 up, while my wired connection from the E8500 is now getting 370 down and 200 up. I decided to test the incoming connection from the ONT box directly to verify I was getting the 800+ down and up speeds and sure enough, I was. I also plugged that cable into the G1100 to test that as well and I can get the full wired speeds from it. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with Verizon continuously renewing the DCHP lease, but since I'm no expert in networking I wanted to know what others more versed in this matter suggest.

Back in April, AT&T had announced that they were planning to acquire Straight Path Communications for $1.6 Billion in order to get a hold of their 39 GHz and 28 GHz licenses in the US as a part of their path to deploy a 5G network. Today, it has been announced that Verizon just wanted those 5G license a bit more and decided to outbid AT&T for the purchase of Straight Path Communications to the tune of $3.1 Billion. According to Ars Technica: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/05/verizon-outbids-att-for-nationwide-5g-spectrum/ This would appear to give Verizon a good foothold for being able to deploy a millimeter spectrum 5G network over the next couple of years... But that is some serious cash to drop to outbid AT&T. http://www.techspot.com/news/69279-verizon-outbids-att-straight-path-nationwide-5g-spectrum.html

Hello, all!First post on the forums, long time lurker, and faithful watcher of the youtube channels. I decided I needed to seek help since I can't find a solution to my problem anywhere.First a little background: I used to be an Optimum Online customer and I decided to upgrade to the new Verizon Fios "gigabit" package with TV and internet because 1. My bill was going to be considerably lower and 2. Faster speeds than what I was getting with Optimum (200/35).While I was on Optimum I was able to reach almost my full download speeds (about 180 to 195) over WiFi with no problem on all of my devices. After upgrading to Fios yesterday and setting my Linksys E8500 as the primary router and the Verizon G1100 as a bridge for the TV and the other features (yes, my FIOS DVR and guide is working perfectly) I'm unable to get anywhere near the speeds I'm paying for over my WiFi.I hooked up my office laptop to the router and the wired connection gets 850/950 speeds consistently, so there's nothing wrong on their end I'm assuming. But my brother's computer which is only 1 room away the router is only getting 600~/750~, my personal laptop in the same room as the router only gets about 300~/200~, my phone (Galaxy S8) in the same room gets about the same as the laptop, my gaming computer downstairs gets 150/170 while I have the Linksys Max-Stream AC19000+ plug in the same room to boost the 5 GHz signal (I get a 1.3 Gbps network connection) and without it I get 425/223 on an 877.5 Mbps network connection to the router, this is weird to me because with the range extender previously I was able to obtain 180~ download speeds all the time while using Optimum.I haven't changed any network settings on the router and all the devices are connected to the router at the same exact network speeds as they were during cable internet. I am at a complete lost and don't know why I'm not getting anywhere near the speeds I should be getting with devices that are more than capable of reaching those speeds. I understand that I will lose some speed due to the nature of WiFi, but I shouldn't be losing more than half of my download and upload speeds on several devices.Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So I love my note 7, it's perfect for me. It works perfectly fine, I love how it feels in my hand, and I love and use all the features it has to offer. What happens if I keep it? And I mean besides getting into an argument with a bunch of my family members about my safety. I got mine from Verizon and I pay for the protection plan, so I was told I am allowed to replace my note 7 at any time because the phone has a defect. I'm pretty good at taking care of my devices, I haven't broken a device's glass screen in over 5 years, but if I keep the phone and like a month or so later I crack the screen or the phone actually ends up exploding, can I still get the phone exchanged? I know I won't be able to get another Note 7, but will I still be able to get a refund so I can do the exchange?

Finally I'll soon be switching to Verizon from T-Mobile, but for the first time in years I'm tasked with the challenge of finding a decent phone. My budget is around $50.00 & there's only 6 Slider or Flip Phone options on Amazon in total. So now I'm starting to wonder if I should just get a smart phone, been hesitant because I feared anything under a couple hundred might be so cheap it's touch screen would break from a 2 inch fall. That's where y'all come in, help prove my concerns wrong with a decent smart phone for under the price I mentioned. In terms of features I'm anything but picky, although if it's possible to get one with an alright 3+ Megapixel Camera then that'd be great. More importantly though, it needs the ability to be plugged into a PC for pic transferring. My current Samsung flip phone oddly can't do this although a previous model that broke could. An SD slot would be nice but probably not required unless some only have a few MB on board. I've seen dozens of smart phone choices on Amazon for under 60 but could really use all y'all's help in whittling em down to the most durable/reliable. *Update/Edit: My budget is around 50 bucks for 3 phones, myself & two family friends. Since we'll be getting the lowest Verizon plan with minimal data, not that we use it anyway, that aspect of the phones isn't important.

I need suggestions for a cheap phone with fast hotspot capability. For $20/month I can add a line to my Verizon Unlimited Family Plan. I am planning on using this line as a 24/7 hotspot for my home network. Until my local ISP adds ports (waiting 2 years) my only other option is satellite which is $65/month for lower speeds than Verizon. My local Verizon tower gets little traffic so I use 300GB/month on my phone with no noticeable throttling. I want to use this new 24/7 line primarily to handle updates (steam, Microsoft, drivers) so I don't need to wait every time I connect and to send security notifications. It needs to be a phone to get unlimited data so should I just pick the cheapest 4G Lte Verizon phone? Or are there differences in through-put speeds on the cheaper/older 4G phones or compatibility issues when sharing connections. The phone will connect via usb to my PC with the connection shared to other devices. Thanks

I'm thinking of buying the Moto Z2 Play and I'm wondering if the verizon version (the 32 GB, $408 one) is actually unlocked to use on other carriers and internationally like other verizon phones. I'm confused because theres a special unlocked version of the phone for $500 with 64 GB of storage and Motorola's website seems to indicate that the verizon version is not unlocked at all, but talking to verizon reps they say that all their phones including this one should be unlocked. Any further information or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How do i unlock this phone? I bought this phone from somebody who said that it was unlocked. When I put my sim card in it, it asks for a "SIM network unlock PIN". Is this normal for an unlocked phone? If so, how do i get this unlock pin? The phone is originally an ATT phone, so i went through their network unlock claim service and they said that this phone wasn't eligible because its device payments had not been fully payed off. Isn't there a tool I can use on my computer and unlock the phone via usb like when you root a phone?

Hello Everyone. Recently, Verizon rolled out the update to Oreo for Pixel and Pixel XL users. After installing the OTA update, my Pixel has frame and stuttering problem when pulling up the App drawer. Has anyone else had this problem or is this just a device issue?

I just upgraded to the Verizon Fios Gigabit connection. I have full speed on my LAN network but my Wifi is a lot slower. Here is my setup: Verizon ONT I-211M-L connected with a CAT 6 cable to a Linksys EA6350. Linksys EA6350 connected with a CAT 6 cable to a Netgear GS116 Switch Netgear GS116 Switch connected with a CAT 5E cable to a Linksys WRT1900AC On my desktop I get the full speed and that is connected via LAN to the Netgear switch. The wireless radios are disabled on the Linksys EA6350 and no one connects to it. On my 2017 Macbook Air I am connected to the Linksys WRT1900AC and I am getting terrible speeds. Verizon said they can't help me since I refuse to use their junk router. I have no idea what to do, please help!

Verizon has updated their "Unlimited" mobile data plans to throttle what you can stream videos at starting on 8/23/2017. The plans will be broken up as follows for mobile data and video: Go Unlimited ($75/month): Unlimited talk, text & data, mobile hot spot limited to 600 kbps & video streaming limited to 480p on phones or 720p on tablets Beyond Unlimited ($85/month): Unlimited talk, text & data, 15 GB of 4G LTE hotspot followed by 600kbps & video streaming at 720p to phones or 1080p on tablets Business Unlimited: Unlimited talk, text & data, 10 GB of 4G LTE hotspot followed by 600kbps & video streaming at 480p. https://hothardware.com/news/verizon-unlimited-data-plans-now-throttle-all-video-to-720p-or-less-on-phones So, I guess this means that they can create internet traffic lanes and decide how much of what kind of data you can get... Seriously, I'm glad that I'm not on Verizon, however, I wonder how many other mobile ISPs have similar setups or will soon begin to implement this... This also feeds back into Mobile broadband is not a replacement for landlines.

Does the zenfone 3 deluxe special edition work on verizon?

From the verge "Yesterday, we reported that Verizon Wireless appeared to be throttling Netflix traffic, — and today, the company seems to have come clean. In a statement provided to Ars Technica and The Verge, Verizon implicitly admitted to capping the traffic, blaming the issue on a temporary video optimization test." "What customers saw wasn’t optimization, but a clear cap, with tests from Netflix’s speed-test tool showing measurably lower rates than non-Netflix tests." Sure sounds like throttling, and net neutrality is still a thing right now. "There are some exceptions to that for network management, but throttling a specific service is a textbook violation of those rules. Netflix traffic was clearly, tangibly being treated differently from other traffic, and customers hadn’t opted into any special service like Go90 that might justify it." Other video streaming services seem to have been affected too, but did not have speed test features available. So basically, not cool. Throttling video data to "an acceptable limit of 1080p" is not good. This is just another blow against a fair, open internet.

So about last saturday my connection became very bad. I've tried just about everything i could think of to fix and talked to verizon support and all they pretty much had to say was lol its not on our end. I'm able to have stable connection to websites like youtube etc but when trying to use voice chat over discord or skype every couple seconds i shoot up to about 3000 ping and all sound cuts out. I'm not able to play online games either such as overwatch because of the ping spikes. I find this strange because my connection is only faulty when i need a constant connection. The attached image shows my network graphs while downloading battlefield 1. Does anyone know any solutions because this has been going on for over a week and I'm tired of it

On Thursday, the FCC sent separate letters to both AT&T and Verizon expressing their concerns over zero-rating. For those who don't know, zero rating is when an internet service provider allows certain data to not be counted towards a general usage limit. Net Neutrality advocates are strongly against this practice, as it allows ISP's to give their own media services (AT&T's DirectTV now and Verizon's Go90) an advantage over other media streaming sites. This issue is currently at the forefront of the Net Neutrality debate, due to the 2015 FCC ruling that prohibited much of the worst kinds of behavior. This ruling, however, left rules about zero-rating programs vague. Opinion: The FCC is trying to assert itself ahead of the Trump administration, which is strongly against the 2015 ruling. I can only hope that the 2015 ruling is allowed to stand, but it should be noted the one of the Republican FCC commissioners who was against the 2015 ruling was quoted as saying: Personally, I expect that once the Trump administration is in control, there will likely be a deadlock in the fight for net neutrality. The 2015 ruling will stand, although they may choose not to enforce it as strongly as they should. On the other hand, net neutrality advocates will likely be unable to make any advances against stopping zero-rating programs. So I've been shopping around for new smartphones and have been looking at buying the Oneplus 7 Pro, however I have read there has been issues with using it on the Verizon network. I understand you need to call Verizon and set it as a CDMA-less device, which is fine and dandy. However I am more concerned about dropped incoming calls coming from iPhones also on the Verizon network. I heard there may be a software patch that was made to fix this problem but I only saw it on one website and wasn't able to verify the information. Does anyone know additional info about this? Or has a Oneplus 7 Pro on Verizon?
