So one time I did ask about combo with AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU (that was stupid) but I did have a reason. So I have a new PC with AMD Ryzen 3 2200GE with integrated graphics vega 8 on motherboard Gigabyte A320M-S2H, 16 GB ram from good ram on one stick 2 drives the first one I did buy is Samsung SSD 980 m.2 500 GB and the second one is WD drive 1 TB. I am planing to change the power supply because it's no name. I am changing it for silentiumPC vero L3 600w it is good quality, cheap and safe, but I don't know about the GPU I don't want to buy some expensive GPU but at the same time I want to run good with some games at little more quality so if you could to recommend the GPU (and maybe some others upgrades) that would be a very helpful.

Budget (including currency): USD $600 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft Other details I am trying to upgrade both drives as well as 32gb RAM in my wife’s 2019 Acer Predator 300 Helios to be used as a Minecraft rig. I’m coming from a MAC Protools audio background and my only Windows experience is running Office under windows 10 pro on my Mac. I realize it might be putting lipstick on a pig, but hopefully it will get her started until I can build her a real machine

Budget (including currency): 600 euros/dollars Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: games, some arquitectural 3d (vray) Other details (intel 6700k, 16Gbs of ram and a gtx 1060 6Gbs; power supply 650) hello I work on 3d with vray (i know the cpu it´s not the best for it, but i usually work at the office) and i play a lot of games, usually my CPU when gaming hits maximum of 72% and mainly stays at 60s% so my question is, which GPU is better for my system, rtx 3060 or an rtx 3070? when they are available (have some time to save a bit more if i need) RTX 3070 it´s to big for my CPU?

Budget (including currency): Combined total under 1500 Country: U.S. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: COD, Cyberpunk, AC, Valorant, and CSGO Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently I have an AMD 7 2700 CPU and a Radeon RX 580 graphics card running with 16 GB of ram. I’m looking to run COD at 1440p and 120+ FPS (to take advantage of my new 1440p/144hz monitors). I was doing some research and found that the 3080 would probably be my best bet, however I don’t know for sure. I also I don’t know if my current CPU would hold back the 3080. I would love some advice on what you guys think. Thanks!

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS I am looking to upgrade my system a little! I was wandering if you guys could give me a push in the right direction Currently, my system is as follows: Intel i7-9700K (base clock, OC is scary) NZXT Kraken X53 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram (2x8GB 3600mhz) MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk 500GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 Drive (boot drive) 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD Gigabyte 2070 SUPER OC Edition Any advice given is appreciated! The system is mainly used for playing games and streaming (I know i'm a loser, i'm sorry) So being able to, for example, run Valhalla at stable frames whilst streaming would be a massive improvement I use a 1440p 144hz as a main display, but also have a 144hz 1080p Monitor on the side (if this information is at all useful to you lovely people)

Hello there! I just purchased a few upgrads for my 3 year old prebuilt Gaming PC! I decided to do it because I really like building stuff around at my system and the cooling seems to get a little worse (I think because of the thermal paste drying out since it already is 3 years old and was a really cheap one). I know it already is too late to I should buy them since I already did but I would still love to discuss the upgrades. My current system: i7-8700 (non k) + Intel stock cooler GTX 1060 6GB (air cooled with 1 fan) Case from the pre built with no fans so really bad air flow and cooling actually... 16GB RAM DDR4-2400 450 Watt PSU no name brand My upgrades: BeQuiet! Rock Slim CPU cooler + Noctua NT-H2 thermal paste (I know the BeQuiet comes with pre applied paste but I heard people having a damaged or dried one in the package so I decided to buy a seperate one) BeQuiet! Pure Base 500 black edition (no window/glas) BeQuiet! Silent Wing 2 140mm PMW (I got 2 of these to get the airflow in my case: 2 fans in the front pulling cool air in and 2 fans pulling hot air out, 1 at the top and 1 in the back) In total I paid $173 (US$, including shipping). So my question is: What do you think about the upgrade, the price and my airflow selection?

Budget (including currency): $700CAD Country: Canada - The land of Maple Syrup and Ryan Reynolds Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Hitman 3, Just Cause 4, GoW, the new Spider-man Remastered in August, WoW, LoL, My friend's Modded Minecraft Server, Light video editing, streaming, recording. Other details: Here's my current specs, no peripherals are needed, upgrading from not having a pc for awhile, upgrading my "new" build, buying either this friday or the 29th, I play at 1080p and at 75hz (as that's what my monitor allows). So this build is less than a year old, with the newest part finally arriving a few days ago, the GPU, but it could use some upgrades. For me, the biggest priority is the Mobo and the PSU, as I can change the ram and CPU at a later date depending on what's available right now. Photo of my build attached in case whomever reading prefers photos over links.

Hello I was thinking of upgrading to a 3060 with price and my own research factored in but open to any card, series, and it doesn't matter if it is AMD or Nvidia. Right now I have been running on Integrated Graphics for about a year and a half and I was thinking it was time for an upgrade. I play pretty easy games to run like minecraft but play modded and am interested in other games that may be more taxing on my system. I also am interested in video editing, and have an oculus quest 2 and love playing standalone quest titles but in the future may be interested in games like No Man's Sky. Thank you for your feedback My Computer Specs CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G Motherboard: MSI B450 A Pro Max Monitor: One 1080p 60hz Acer Panel PSU: 500 watts (can be upgraded) If any more information is needed/wanted to make a good suggestion write it down in the comments and I will update the post

This computer was built about a year ago, and has since then been a work in progress. (at time of starting this blog) The specs are: Fractal Design Define R4 i7 4770k @ stock 3.5 ghz with stock cooler ASUS Sabertooth Z87 Radeon R9 270X 2GB 8 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM Apevia 750 Watt Power Supply MAXTHOR 500GB HDD (I don't know the model number of it, but it is pretty old and soon to go) OCZ Agility 4 64GB SSD TP-Link PCI-E Wifi Card (soon to change) Fans: 3 X 140mm Apevia Blue LED Fans 1 X 140mm Fractal Design White Fan 2 X 140mm Apevia Red LED Fan Peripherals: Razer Black Widow (2011) Razer Naga Epic Logitech G230 2 X AOC E2460SWD 24" Monitors 2.1 Logitech Speakers This blog is basically going to be on the finishing touches/upgrades to the computer along with a complete color change. This computer has been a work in progress for nearly 3 years, and probably will forever be one. But before I am almost completely happy with it, there are a couple things I plan on adding in the near future. First, I want to change the overall look of the computer, beginning with the fans. Currently there are 3 extremely bight blue fans in there, and they look cool and all, but in my opinion they really don't match any of the components. Instead of blue, brown, gold, white, and basically every other color in the rainbow, I am going to go for a white and black looking color scheme.

Budget (including currency): Overall, about $2500 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming at 1440p, light streaming and content creation Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current parts: Ryzen 7 2700x, EVGA RTX 2060 XC Ultra Black, Asus ROG B450f gaming MOBO, 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3600, EVGA 700w 80+ Bronze PSU, 2x SATA SSD (120GB, 500GB), 1x 1TB WD Blue HDD. All upgrades are planned to be purchased between 6 months to a year, depending on funds. But to clarify, I do have the funds for the first series of upgrades right now, so the time frame is just a buffer because things happen. Would like to get 100+ fps at 1440p, but that’s not a hard guideline. Just a note, I prefer to buy new, as I prefer the availability of warranties, as well as the security of return windows, and you never really know what a used component has been subjected to. I was hoping for some opinions on upgrade path, as well as choices. My budget is hard set at about $1000 for my first phase of upgrades. Pictures are the full list of upgrades planned. I’m willing to shift stuff around for better performance for the same money, or for better options, in general, as long as it fits within the hard limit of $1000. Looking to get GPU, and NVME first, then CPU and MOBO, then everything else. Current specs are Ryzen 7 2700x, RTX 2060, 32GB DDR4 3600, ASUS ROG Strix B450f, 700w PSU, 2x SATA SSDs, 1x HDD GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle OC - I chose the 3070 for a heftier upgrade over my 2060, as well as better performance in 1440p and VR. NVME: WD Black 1tb SN850x - I chose this because I’ve been using SATA SSDs, and they’ve been lacking. It’s where it is on the list because I need the extra storage, and I can deal with the Gen 3 speeds until I upgrade the MOBO. MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix B550-f - I chose this MOBO due to it topping many of the articles and resources I’ve looked at for B550 motherboards, Tomahawk also strongly considered. Also for PCIE Gen 4 availability, beefier VRMs. CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x - I chose this CPU as a more current Gen upgrade over the 2700x, as well as Gen 4 PCIE support, as well as pairing well with the 3070 based on research, and the 5700x specifically because I prefer the overhead of 8 cores. PSU: Corsair RM850x - I chose this for 50/50 utility/vanity. My current PSU is 80+ bronze, and I want something with a little more quality. Plus, the modularity will allow me to get rid of the current rats nest behind my side panel. Cooler: Deepcool Liquid Cooler LT720 - I know this is a bit overkill for a 5700x, but too much cooling is better than not enough, and I currently run a standard Wraith cooler. Monitor: AOC CQ27G3S - Honestly, I have the same type of monitor currently, in 24” 1080p, and went with what I knew. Definitely willing to entertain better options, especially closer to 32” for not much more money. Although, I’m willing to save a little more for a better viewing experience. I’m not as knowledgeable about monitors. So, questions? Comments? I’m just kind of looking for a once-over from those more knowledgeable than myself looking for oversights or issues.

So I have the "opportunity" to get a couple of HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF PCs for basically nothing, and I'm wondering what the best way to go about upgrading them for maximum memage would be. I have limited practical experience building PCs, though its something I've wanted to do for a while and I figured this could be fun(ny). I'd just rather not waste money on parts which turn out not to be compatible. I'm fine spending a bit to upgrade the obviously quite shite (or plain missing) hardware in these things. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming if it doesn't spontaneously combust, general purpose if it starts melting CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo E8400 3 GHz Graphics: Intel® GMA 4500M (discrete) RAM: None at the moment, I think it takes DDR3 Motherboard: No clue Storage: Also none at the moment, I believe it originally had a 320GB HDD

My calculations have me at about 190W, I won't be able to run it. I've that a similar HP product (the 800 G3 SFF) could come w/ a 1050Ti which uses similar power draw @ 75W worked AND also used a 180W PSU. I want to keep the DVD Drive operable if possible as I use one in my main PC and personally like that flexibility. I have thought about installing a GT 1030 instead since it only uses 30W, but isn't my preferred as it won't be an adequate gamer. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I got this from a friend who was just looking to get rid of it and I wanna have a backup PC that I can have in my living room that's an "adequate" gaming PC for the price.

Hi Everyone, Going through the usual regrets of buying a gaming laptop (should of went desktop). Low ram and low storage. Reviewing these side by side these both seem to be on paper about the same with no material difference. Anyone with a different viewpoint or advice on which ram to go with? Already have a new M.2 drive to upgrade as well, just need to clone my current one. Really keen to have guidance or at least a secondary opinion. Any other suggestions to beef this up? I was thinking of doing the CPU upgrade as most of my tasks are quite CPU intensive as opposed to being graphically intensive. But I would also like to be able to run Minecraft shaders (light ones - eg: Sildur's Enhanced Default) without too much stutter. I notice my CPU struggling in tasks like MuseScore 4, but both of them struggling equally in larger games like Fortnite (please don't bully me). Budget (including currency): £450 Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft Java Edition, Valorant, Destiny 2, Ableton Live 11, MuseScore 4 (and Fortnite very very very occasionally (please don't bully me)). Probably will want to do some more intensive games down the line. Current specs: 2x8GB 3200mhz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RAM, Ryzen 5 3400G CPU, Palit 1050Ti GPU, Asus A320M-K MOBO, Corsair CV450 PSU, 512GB SSD (boot drive), 1TB HDD (games drive), 1TB HDD (unused as of now) Upgrades I've been looking at: CPU upgrade: Change out the 3400G for a 5700X, and also upgrade the MOBO to a Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2. Use left-over money to buy a Gigabyte G24F 23.8inch 1080p 165Hz or something similar (and using my current monitor as a second monitor). GPU upgrade: Change out the 1050Ti for a used 3060/3060Ti. Get a 750W PSU.

Hey y'all! Long time LTT viewer and first time poster. Budget (including currency): 150~250€ Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Large Photoshop projects, light gaming and web surfing Other details: My current build: CPU: Intel Core i7 6700 (3.4GHz) Socket 1151 GPU: MSI GeForce® GTX 1050 2GT OC 2GB GD5 Motherboard: MSI B150M PRO-VDH RAM: 2X G.Skill 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Aegis Case: Micro-ATX Cooler Master N200 N1 USB 3.0 PSU: Seasonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Drive 1: SSD Kingston UV400 240GB SATA III Drive 2: WD 1TB (7200rpm) SATA III 64MB Blue Monitor: DELL 25" U2515H ULTRASHARP 6MS IPS Bought this new in January 2017 for aprox. 900$ (rip off?). I definitely want to get a brand new build eventually but I feel the components still have some life in them. I hate the thought of retiring perfectly good components. Will upgrading it with a small budget make it run 2 or 3 more years? My main struggle atm with it is working on large Photoshop projects with many layers, as it sucks all the RAM and slows everything down. I tweaked what I could and tried to optimize the settings but without much luck. Lighter projects (<2GB PSDs) run completely fine thou. Also, in Adobe Bridge generating thumbnails and previews of folders with large amounts of heavy RAW files is currently a big pain. I also game fine with it cuz I have plenty of non GPU hungry games left to burn in my back log before truly needing a nicer board. I wonder if I had one of those nice M.2 NVMe samsung SSDs instead of my 2 drives it would improve overall speed noticeably. Adding more RAM seems wasteful considering I'll get a new build in a few years and probably won't be able to use the old ones. Final question, what would you say the bottleneck of this system is? Thank you very much!

I use this PC on my off time to create content for YouTube or to stream on twitch I built this machine prolly in I’d say 2016 ish I think?? Any way I’m wondering if it’s time to either start from scratch because I’m hearing lots of great things about the new and improved AMD processors OR build off of what I got. Now with that being said I know we have moved LGA slots so I’m not all the sure if I even have room for new CPU same MOBO. But here’s the build I’m still rocking still getting pretty good FPS on new titles like MW etc BUT I have noticed my cpu has tanked a little cause I play a lot of modded MC and I don’t feel like it runs as good as it once did. One more thing is buying parts from like FB markets or small shops where Im from if trusted ok? Thank you all in advance! Price range I’m unsure of I’m not trying to spend over 1200 but anything Lower would be great too! IF IM MISSING INFO LET ME KNOW! (feel like I am) CPU: I7-4790k is overclocked GPU GTX 970 FTW edition MOBO MSI Gaming 5 I believe PSU 650w Corsair gold RAM Corsair 8gb DDR3 1 Samsung evo ssd and a few disk drives that hold like photos and and important life documents

Hi all, I'm planning to upgrade my desktop later this year and I'm trying to gauge what would be the best parts for my budget. My current build is a Intel i5 4570, Asus H97-Plus motherboard, 2x4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD and a AMD RX5700 all powered by a 750W PSU. I purchased the GPU earlier this week which is definitely over powered for my current build but I wanted to make sure that when I upgrade my CPU, motherboard and RAM, I'm not limited to my GPU. The parts I'm thinking of upgrading to are the AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte B450 ITX motherboard and 1x16GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM which I've found brings me to the £350 budget I set for myself. My question though is, is this the best bang for my buck? I'm really only looking to upgrade my CPU, motherboard and RAM. My requirements are mini ITX motherboard and support for M.2 NVME storage as I would like to upgrade from a 256GB SSD to a 1TB NVME SSD later in the future. I use my desktop for a lot of graphic design using Affinity Design/Publisher and photo editing with Adobe Lightroom with some casual gaming on the side of course. I'm normally a console gamer but recently I've really enjoyed playing on PC and so I want this build to be an alternative to buying the new Xbox Series X when it releases later this year. I love Halo so I'm wanting to get ready for Halo Infinite when that releases as well. I hope that all makes sense. Let me know if you need any more information. Cheers! Matt
