Hello, I am planning to upgrade my 8years PC to a new one and can't decide on a monitor to get. Graphics card target 7900XT or 6950XT so AMD FreeSync would be a must. I am still in a crossroads between 34" ultra wide UHD and 42±43" 4k monitor. I am more an a MMO RPG/RPG or ARP games guy - thats why i'm targeting lower refresh rate monitors but with higher resolution. Please help me decide by writing your experiences if you had any playing such type games on those types of displays! If anyone can suggest something that are BIS of both types between 500±1000$/€ would be awesome! I would prefer 120 Hz+, my room is kind a dark, not much sunlight at all so brightness isn't that important. Also curved screen for a ultra wide would be a priority (idk why, looks cool .. maybe) P.S I have been crushing 2x27" 144 Hz monitors to date. Love it, but want to try something new. Thanks for any advice in advance! Cheers!

Hi There I'm looking for a good monitor recommendation. I want it to b ether 27 or 32inch it can be 28 or 31.5 but between 27 and 32inch. I would like it to be 2560x1440 or UHD (3840x2160) I'm more keen on UHD but given i want at least 120hz i know UHD in 120hz can be expensive. I want an IPS panel, with good color and if it was able to do HDR that would be good to. 1ms GTG would be ideal but im not an esports person so if it wasnt thats still fine aslong as its got a good response rate. G-Sync compatible is fine so AMD free sync that works with NVIDIA cards would be good. I don't care about the monitor mount as long as i can mount it to a 100x100 VESA mount. Couldn't care less about RGB on the monitor. 27-32inch monitor 2560x1440 or 2840x2160 120hz or faster dont care about 360hz 165 max would be more then enough. IPS, Good color and HDR with 1ms GTG or close to it. VESA mountable. If you have a good recommendation and first hard experience with the monitor that would be good. Thanks

What is the difference between Vega 7 graphics, (5600G) and UHD 730 graphics? (11400) They seem similar, but is there any difference, or which one is faster and better value?

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if it's possible to copy UHD / 4K BluRays with the above mentioned player/burner? I never copied a BluRay before and don't know if there is a difference if it's just 1080p or UHD. Thank you

Hello, I'm looking for a media PC that supports 4K UHD out and allows me to decode 4K video files from my NAS, and decode the stream from steam in home streaming. Size isn't a factor, cost is. Recently moved into a larger space and my TV is no longer right next to my PC. I'm guessing machines like this have gotten quite affordable, but I'm very much out of the loop. Any suggestions, and maybe things I should look out for? Thank you

Hello! I recently purchased a new PC monitor: Dell P2415Q (4K, UHD, 23.8”, 3840x2160 @60Hz). This monitor is amazing! It has crystal clear image, with great colour accuracy, good contrast, and the best monitor stand I know of. SCALING IN WINDOWS 10: •As you can imagine, the display is being scaled by Windows by default at 200% (recommended), so items won’t look too small. •All Windows 10 & Microsoft Office tools will take advantage of the scaling immediately. •New programs will take advantage of the scaling immediately. •Some programs won’t take advantage of the scaling by default, but they can be fixed by editing program properties, and changing “High DPI settings” (example: Propellerhead Reason v5.0). •Some older programs won’t work well, no matter what. They’ll either look big & blurry, or clear & tiny (example: Nullsoft Winamp v5.66). Overall, the 4K experience is a positive one. It’s a forward move. PS: I hope this will help someone...

Hey everyone, I need a laptop for university and have chosen the Dell XPS 15 9500. However, I need help deciding between the FHD screen and the UHD screen. I'm a computer science student so naturally I will be using programs such as Python and Java. On the side however, I will be watching movies, youtube videos, and playing a few light games on the laptop. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi all! I just purchased my first ever "pro level" laptop. Its a Dell XPS 15 9500, the specs are as follows: 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-10750H (12MB Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 6 cores) NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6 with Max-Q 16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4, 2933MHz 15.6" UHD+ (3840 x 2400) InfinityEdge Touch Anti-Reflective 500-Nit Display I want to buy an external display to go with my new laptop, I am thinking ultra wide, but I can be convinced otherwise. It will mostly be used for media consumption, some light video editing and even lighter gaming. I have been looking at LG 38WK95C-W 38-Inch (https://www.amazon.com/LG-38WK95C-W-38-Inch-Class-UltraWide/dp/B079L4WR4T), but to be honest I am more than lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

Hello everyone. I recently bought GTX 980 Ti and I'm planning to buy Ryzen 5 1600, so I need your help with choosing the right budget monitor for my needs (mostly gaming and multimedia). I have a pick on a BENQ EL2870UE 28". It costs 280 USD in my country. It has a 4K display, 60Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, some kind on HDR etc... And, on the other hand, there is one 43" Smart TV with a 4K panel, costing 225 USD. Manufacturer is a Blueberry. But I don't think it has HDMI 2.0, so I will be limited to 30 fps with 4K resolution. It has 8ms response time. Both have a VESA mount, integrated speakers and a 3 year warranty. What do you think would be a better choice, cause I don't think GTX 980 Ti can play newer games at 60 fps in 4K? And does anyone have an experience with BENQ EL2870UE monitor or a similar one from Benq? Thanks in advance. P.S. Sorry if I made some grammar mistakes. English is not my native language.

I'm planning to buy a smart TV which is TCL 43P8M - 43" P8M SERIES. This is my first time buying a smart TV 4k UHD, so I have questions before buying it. 1.) What is the video format applicable for this model for 4k movie? 2.) The CPU of this TV is (64bit A55x4 900MHz~1.1GHz) how many cores does it have? 2.1) Can this CPU really plays 4k UHD movies without stuttering or frame lag? 3.) My friend also owned TCL 50" smart TV he said sometimes when he play some movie on his TV the sound of it is too weak he cant even hear the people talking on the movie even thou the volume on TV is maxed. However some movies comes with great sound when he plays it on TV. But the movies which are the volume is too weak on TV when he plays it on his laptop the sound quality is good.

Buget nothing too extream in £200 margin. Current monitors. I feel pretty dumb. I got my build all together and popped in the UHD Bluray I just bought and got the error that I can't continue. So I have an I7 9700k, Pioneer UHD Drive, GTX 1060GB and an MSI MEG ACE Z390 motherboard. Seems like my only problem is that I don't have ANY display connector on my $280 motherboard. From what I can see I can't output from my 1060 because it doesn't have HDCP 2.2. I have SGX enabled of course. The error in the Powerlink says GPU not supported. SO here's the 3 options I've come down to and would just love some educated advice on which one is best. 1. Exchange the Pioneer UHD drive for the LG WH16NS60 - which "Supposedly" can play UHD discs properly using DVDFAB 5. (This is my favorite option if I can output 4k/HDR from my 1060 and not have to disassemble my motherboard) 2. Exchange the Motherboard for one that has HDMI 2.0, But I cannot find a regular sized z390 ATX with HDMI 2.0. I'm not completely against going to a z370, but I do really like the Wireless AC and Bluetooth built in. 3. Hardcore chance, Wait until a GPU is released from AMD or NVIDIA that has HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. Oh and yes it's important that it's an internal drive solution for a full PC and not ITX. Thanks for your time reading this.

Hi guys, I've recently purchased an Aorus RTX 2080 Ti Xtreme card which should be delivered in the next week or so. I am currently looking at 4K monitors, as the 2080 Ti can finally power most games at 60fps in 4K max settings. Two of the monitors I'm looking at are the Dell UP2718Q and the LG 32UD99-W. I currently own an Acer XB271HU 165Hz 1440p monitor, as well as an Acer XB272 240Hz 1080p monitor. Both monitors I'm looking at are available for the same price of ~£750. The main differences between the two is that the LG is 32" (probably a better size for 4K) and the Dell is 27" (my other monitors are all this size though). The Dell also truly supports HDR10 (1000 nits peak brightness, 384 dimming zones, 10-bit panel) and provides better coverage of Adobe RGB (100%) and DCI P3 (97.7%). The LG also looks better with thinner bezels and Type-C connector. The LG also has FreeSync but this is a mute point as I have nvidia hardware. The monitor will be used for gaming on PC and PS4 Pro with light video/photo editing (in a non-professional capacity), as well as general use (coding/media consumption/browsing etc). Which monitor (if either) do you feel would be the better choice? Thanks!

Hello, I'm going to be upgrading to a new system wit the Intel i9-9900K cpu and have purchased a new Nvidia 1080Ti video card I'll be using this exclusivley for Premiere Pro and After Effects with that said, I'd seen a lot of talk lately about UHD graphics and QuickSync, ... does Intel UHD graphics / QuickSync support matter in Premiere if you have a dedicated GPU? I really have not found any great info, nothing that the everyday person can understand.... pros ? cons ? and basically what it does. I've been looking at some ASUS motherboards and the high end ones ( over $500 ) have this UHD graphics support feature.... so before I order, I really want to make sure what I should consider before my purchase. Thank you for your time everyone !

Ok. I am a noob. A big dumb noob, however.. I've done some research first. I haven't read yet that someone has successfully upgraded their dell 7577 screen from fhd 30 pin to uhd 40 pin. I'm reading a lot of it cannot be done with adaptors. But I've read a few forums where they say it can. However, you guys are smart. Is there anyway i can upgrade my fhd 30pin to mobo screen to 4k, or is the biggest upgrade i can do, the 120hz? I really want 4k. I want that extra room. Any help will be appreciated. I love this laptop. But i want it better!

Hi, I'm searching for a good, 1440p or 4k monitor between 23" and 28". IPS or equivalent preferred. Only found two, but I need around 3 or 4. I'm in the province of Québec, I'd need it by tomorrow. Best buy, Walmart and The Source are the best bets for the "dead line". Thanks!

So to start off, I do content production and for a long time, I've been doing 1080p. because even though we've had '4K' for a long time; The vast majority of people are still seeing 1080p, not even UHD, 1080p. Anyway, that's finally started to shift so I've already got a new system capable of producing the power and performance I need. My final weak point is my monitors. I've had no trouble finding a series of 4K monitors that have Freesync2/HDR support at a high refresh. The problem is that all of them are curved. I can't be using a curved monitor when I'm doing content production. I couldn't find anything with Freesync2 that was 4K that didn't have a curve, and I couldn't find anything that wasn't curved, had freesync and still had HDR. from searching I'm gathering that Freesync 2 = HDR Here is the Unicorn of a Monitor that I need; UHD At minimum (2560 x 1440), 4K (3840) would be ideal. High Dynamic Range Freesync (for in-engine testing) No less than 60hz refresh; 120 would be ideal, 144 would be the land of dreams. 5ms response time. Displayport for the connection would be ideal. It cannot under any circumstance or under any exception be curved - it's for content production. My search has primarily been through things like PC Partpicker, New Egg, Memory Express. This doesn't have to be a game-centric monitor If this thing just outright doesn't exist, I always run with a multi-monitor setup; 3 monitors + a tv. So I'm more than willing to deal with workarounds. Or if there's a TV that meets these requirements rather than a monitor, I'm willing to go there. I intend to keep searching for the unicorn but I'm posting here to see if anyone has any ideas for compromises or monitors that might actually meet those requirements.

Hey guys and gals, i am thinking about getting myself a new display for my setup, but I am not sure what i should buy. So currently i am thinking about either buying two 28" Displays with a monitor arm for each one (https://www.amazon.de/Samsung-U28E590D-Monitor-Reaktionszeit-Aktualisierungsrate/dp/B00WUACE4S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1531143955&sr=8-3&keywords=samsung+U28E590D), or a single 34" Ultrawide without a monitor arm, so the standard that comes with it in the box. Do you guys have any recommendations or ideas what i should buy? My budget is like 700€ to 900€. Thanks!

Hey, German Display Website Prad.de hast discovered that some Display Manufakturer actually use uhd panels in QHD displays since uhd is cheaper right now than qhd. They then use firmware to go back to qhd... https://www.prad.de/wolf-im-schafspelz-wenn-im-qhd-monitor-ein-4k-panel-arbeitet/ Can we see the Difference? And Why do it? Why not sell uhd directly?
