I am trying to reimage an SRNC-17 G2 HP Miltope but the bios is locked due to a previous user putting on a password then promptly forgetting it. Is there any way for me to reset the bios password on this system without sending it back to the manufacturer? I have attempted removing the CMOS battery (which did nothing).

Just began building my PC yesterday and eventually came across the issue of my NZXT Kraken Elite 360mm not operating as it should be. The three RGB fans are not spinning yet they are connected to SATA power from my PSU. This specific Radiator comes with an RGB controller with which the fans are connected to and plugged into a USB 2.0 Y connector that is also used by the Pump to share a single USB 2.0 header on the bottom of my Asus Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard. The RGB for the fans DOES WORK. However they don’t spin on startup when receiving power like most videos and guides show. The LCD Display has never once turned on despite switching around the SATA connector and 3-pin pump connector to either AIO_PUMP or CPU_FAN. (The manual for the AIO said either could be used, but I’d just have to fix the CPU fan speed error in the bios.) One of my troubleshooting methods was to connect the three Cooler fans into a different fan splitter that was being used by my case’s three front-panel fans. Which allowed them to actually work. This helped me narrow it down to the connection being the issue. Not the fans themselves. Im assuming my LCD has a dead backlight, and my breakout cable is defective. Since this cable specifically has my three fans, the pump connector, SATA for power and the USB 2.0 connector for the motherboard all in one place.

I just wanna know if this PCIE slot is beyond saving and if I should try inserting my GPU still

Hey everybody, i have just built my first pc and it would randomly freeze when playing games. So i tried stress testing it in Prime95 and Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. It freezes usually about 1-5 min into the test. All the lights in my pc are still on and fans are spinning when it freezes but i cannot do anything. I have not done any overclocking btw only xmp in bios turned on. I have this build which I started 3y ago but changed basically everything of it to this point, besides the CPU. Currently, it has this very weird problem of turning off when I punch my desk and sometimes it doesnt want to turn on again with all my RAM sticks connected, I have to remove 2 of them to make it work. The computer is completely usable without it as I have 64gb of Corsair Dominator on it, the 64gb was mostly to play Cities Skylines as it is a very intensive game. I am starting to think it is a problem with the CPU, as I had a similar problem, but not to this extent, with my previous mobo, a B550 from ASUS. Current setup (yes, I am aware the bottleneck of this build is my cpu but I was meant to sell it to a friend to get a 5800X3D but he backed off) * Asus prime X570 * AMD 5600X * MSI 4070ti * Corsair PSU 750w gold * 4x16gb Corsair Dominator 3600 DDR4 (this is another problem as well as I have never managed to get them to work at 3600, 3200 was the only semi stable speed I could put them on) * Noctua NH-US12 Chromax Most of the cables are less than 9 mo old, inc PSU, case cables and fan cables, but doubt those would short circuit something that would restart my pc. Do you guys think this is a problem with the CPU (ive seen some reddit topics that this CPU has some issues with memory, but couldnt pinpoint anything)?

I've been using an old pc ad a minecraft server on and off for the past 3years the pc contains an a10-6700 apu 16gb of ddr3 ram and a gt620 (all the parts are from an old prebuilt the acer tc-130). (I'm gonna call it a server for a large part of this even tho technically it is just a regular desktop) The pc has been working for the last 3yrs, as the nature as a second older pc I've cycled alot of components in and out including multiple harddrives and os (windows 8.1 , windows 10, 11(even tho it's unsupported I goy it working) and ubuntu server) The server was working last week when I decided to switch out the mechanical harddtive into my main pc to speed up chunk loading, the drive ended up dying a day in probably unrelated but gor detail. So I decided to use my 500gb crucial sata ssd to have the minecraft server on with ubuntu server as the os (same as the harddrive) point is i finish rendering the world and went to put the ssd into the server and was met with a reboot or insert proper boot media. Since I've attempted to use 4 different drives a harddrive with Windows 11 on a harddrive with ubuntu server on and my ssd i plan to use with ubuntu server and even tried to use a blank drive and install ubuntu server onto it with boot media which worked whilst installing but after restarting as part of the install process (the part when removing the usb stick) it can't detect a boot device. Since I've tried 5 different ram sticks, a range of different sata cables. I've some what attempted tk change bios settings but have a limited knowledge do a fix to the issue is likely to be seated there if there is one. The only other thing I could suspect is the powersupply howrver the harddrives spin to life on power on so this doesn't seem to be an issue any input is appreciated there's 2 links showing below. Hello I've encountered a problem while building an old computer that is using an I3 540 and an H55M-D2H from Gigabyte. The system only boots to Windows successfully if you have less than 8GB of RAM in it, PC posts with +8gb but fails to boot into Windows, even though the motherboard seems absolutely OK with it, since it goes to BIOS no problem, just can't boot to Windows. Tried to: -Update BIOS -Reseat CPU (checked for bent pins too, no bent pins) -Swap Memory with this results: 2*2gb Ok 2*4gb POST Ok Shutdown/BSOD Windows 2*8gb POST Ok Shutdown/BSOD Windows My bet here is that the IMC of the chip is damaged by age and it doesn't like to work with more memory but I could be completely wrong. I have an X3450 on the mail arriving but want to get some opinions cause if it's the motherboard I'm kind of screwed. Any Ideas?

I tried to turn on Alan Wake 2 but it tried to eat more vram (checked in the event viewer) than I have and because of that I recieved this message. I tried to run it the second time and after this one half of my screen went black. I restarted my pe and it seems to be working normally. I even played the above mentioned AW2 for 2+ hours, cyberpunk for 1hr and CS2 for some time and there was no glitches or anything. My question is: is this normal for such a glitch to happen when exceeding gpus vram or is it an early sign of it going bad? I have 4060ti with 8gb memory. Newest drivers, no oc, everything is set to efault. Btw. The start menu showed up on the black side of the screen.

my pc didn't had any problems since i got it and only started having those problems after I opened my case to change sata cables and switch my current ssd to an older hd I had in my room for years that was on my older pc to check my old files and feel nostalgic or smth; after switching storages, I needed to change some options in the bios like disabling secure boot and I started my pc regularly; I tried some games and found that anything that used my gpu was lagging like crazy and the gpu fans were running at their maximum speed, but I didn't thought anything as the hd was very slow and my settings/drivers weren't as optimized as in my ssd; later, when I felt nostalgic enough and bored of my checking my old files I returned to my ssd, doing everything in reverse order (switching ssd to hd and their cables) and noticed that the pc still weirdly laggy and my gpu had its 3D and video encode in the 90+% while copy and video decode were below 5% in task manager; unlike having a crypto miner in your pc, that makes your gpu 100% all of the time, my gpu runs normally at ~1% until starting any program that requires graphics, then it skyrockets to ~90% usage, always because of high 3d and video encode usage; all that makes me think like my gpu is being limited by some obscure software setting/problem or that something physical is preventing it of achieving its normal performance my thoughts are either that: ● old hd had some malicious files/background program/anything really that spread to my gpu driver or something like that and then spread to my ssd later; ● while touching my pc parts without a glove, static and/or hand oils may have fried my gpu or mobo; ● changing to my old sata cable did something to my mobo I will list everything that I have tried after recognizing that, not necessarily in order tho: - software related -> using windows defender and malwarebytes to check for anything: -> formatting (resetting) pc with the same version of my OS (windows 10 pro); -> formatting pc to other version of windows (windows 10); -> formatting pc to a custom debloated version of windows (ggOS); -> formatting pc to a custom debloated version of windows using ntlite (windows 10 pro but custom debloated); -> resetting all my drivers and installing new ones using snappy driver installer origin, then later drivereasy and some others manually; -> uninstalling my gpu drivers with and without ddu and installing the same version again; -> uninstalling my gpu drivers with and without ddu and installing an older version; -> uninstalling my gpu drivers with and without ddu and installing a custom debloated version using nvcleanstall; -> disabling or enabling hardware accelerated GPU scheduling; -> tweaking nvidia control panel options, specifically 3d options, and geforce experience settings; -> tweaking bios settings and later resetting them to fabric; and most importantly i think: -> used tronscript as a last measure, which does a ton of things automatically that you can check here https://github.com/bmrf/tron/blob/master/README.md - hardware related -> checked my cables and unplugged and plugged all of them again; -> checked my ram sticks and gpu and made sure they were all connected steady; -> did some cleaning, removed some dust and organized cables; -> tried using each sata port separately; -> tried resetting cmos battery memory after those methods listed i had no results, everything stayed the same and my gpu still feels like it is limited to 5% of its power gpu: gtx 1060 6gb pc is a prebuilt from a local company, searching its model name doesnt help much cpu: i7-7700 3.6ghz ram: 2x 8gb ddr4 2400mhz mobo: GA-H110M-H (i think, name is changed in cpuz) psu: local company 500W generic psu ssd: ST500LM012 HN-M500MBB (500GB) old hd: ST1000DM010-2EP102 (1TB) misc info: playing minecraft with some mods i used to get 400fps+ easily, now im getting less than 60fps playing dead by daylight i used to get stable 120fps, now it runs at a stable 7 fps weirdly enough just doing chores with discord, spotify and thorium browser open, gpu is at 30% usage process hacker shows both microsoft's basic display driver and nvidia's drivers in the system information tab (??) at top right while a gpu intensive game is open in the background tl;dr - plugged old hd into pc, gpu now looks like it has a limiter (like those energy settings in windows that you can limit your cpu) and anything remotely graphic intensive uses 100% of 3d and at least 80% of video encode

I recently got into overclocking on my PC: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (@ Stock settings while overclocking RAM) RAM: 1x Lexar Co. 16GB rated for 3200 MT/s @ 1.2V (No info about clocks on stick itself or anywhere else) GPU: RTX 3060 12G MoBo: Asus Prime B450M-K PSU: Asus ROG Strix 750W So I decided to take on this challenge and try to overclock this by myself. This would be the first time I'm overclocking RAM so I decided after some research that following this guide by integralfx posted would be a good start. Everything started off fine and I got pretty reasonable results granting me +10% performance over stock settings. After extensive testing with all the methods recommended by the guide linked above, I ended up sticking with the following settings: Frequency: 3266 MHz with FCLK @ 1633 Mhz VDDCR CPU Voltage @ Auto DRAM Voltage @ 1.35 V VDDCR SOC Voltage @ 1.15 V VDDG CCD @ 1.0 V VDDG IOD @ 1.05 V CLDO VDDP @ 1.0 V Timings were pretty optimized all while being as stable as possible. So everything's okay I'm really happy with my OC, and after running OCCT AVX2 90% Memory test for ~20mins I decide I want to try to tighten some more timings. So I go ahead and restart my PC and ready to mash that dlt key so I can get into BIOS, but that screen doesn't show up and instead I get a slightly unusually long black screen and immediately get thrown into windows. Even after several reboot attempts and also trying to boot into UEFI from windows' recovery settings, I'm not able to get into BIOS while running any sort of overclock. I reset the CMOS countless times undo-ing the timing changes one by one and still can't get it to show me the BIOS screen no matter what. I tried to boot with no settings changed and I can do so, but the second I touch anything, I can't see the BIOS screen and boot into windows even though it is super stable even after booting with no error whatsoever. So I would really like to know what could have caused this issue. It might be the RAM not being able to handle the high voltage anymore due to degredation. If so, I would have to go through the whole process again with a lower DRAM voltage. Some extra info that might help: Recently updated my BIOS from V4202 to V4401 If any more information is needed I can provide them! Thank you for any help!

Hi there, I need help identifying a persistent and challenging issue. We are offering a $100 USD reward for its resolution. So I work for a Minecraft server, and we average a few hundred daily players, however the last 2.5 months or so we've been facing a network issue, every few minutes, we have a random player get disconnected. This problem randomly started happening out of nowhere, the Minecraft server is a Prison server, and we have seasons that last around a month, and this issue popped up mid-season, and mid-seasons we don't change anything major, or update any plugins except for our own plugin when releasing patches for the gamemode, and we did not push anything that would cause the issue we are facing, it quite literally seems like it started out of no where. For quite some time, we were running on a dedicated server provided by Hetzner and we had 0 issues, and like I had previously stated, we then started facing issues out of no where, and at the time, we were using a game DDoS protection service named TCPShield, we then began to go back and forth with their support team as we had figured it was a problem on their end, and after a while we weren't able to come to a solution, so as a troubleshooting step, we switched to two other providers, one being Papyrus, another DDoS protection service, and another named Pufferfish, which we bought a VPS through, and began proxying our Hetzner machine through that ourselves using HAProxy, however none of these things fixed our issue, we still had players disconnecting every few minutes or so, and we had no idea as to what the reason was. After trying different DDoS protection methods, thinking that was where our problem was, none of them resolved our issue, so we decided to switch hosting providers from Hetzner to OVH, that way we eliminate the extra DDoS protection layer we were using, and we used raw OVH as our DDoS protection, that way we could also rule out the dedicated server we previously had as the issue. So now, we had a new dedicated server on a completely different host, an entirely different network, no extra layers of DDoS prot, and we still faced the issue. Our Minecraft server setup consists of a proxy running Bungeecord, 5 hub servers, and the main gamemode server, Prison. When players are disconnected, they aren't disconnected from the server they are on and sent just to a hub, they are kicked entirely from the proxy, and we tried switching the software the proxy used from Bungeecord to Velocity, which still did not fix the issue, we had the exact same error. No matter the server you were on, whether that be a Hub server, or the main Prison gamemode, players were still being kicked, so we decided to look into our plugins to see which plugins we had in common between these servers, in-case it was a faulty one. We found quite a number of shared plugins, however these plugins were all up-to-date, and ones that we didn't believe would cause the issue, such as things like LuckPerms (permission management), LiteBans (punishments), and a few other of believed innocents. We tried disabling plugins that were interacting with networking, such as ProtocolLib (a packet handler which provides an API to devs), and a few other non-required plugins, which again, did not solve our issue. Current Setup: - A dedicated server on OVH running Ubuntu 22.04, with a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, 128gb of RAM, and gigabit networking - Pterodactyl game panel (baremetal) - Docker, which runs our databases (MongoDB, MariaDB, and phpMyAdmin), metrics software (Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB), as well as houses containers the Pterodactyl panel hosts - Game server proxy running Velocity - 5 Hub servers, and a Prison server (running a 1.8.9 PaperSpigot fork) We Tried: - Switching dedicated server hosts (Hetzner -> OVH) - Switching DDoS protection services - Switching game server proxy software (Bungeecord -> Velocity) - Switching software on the 5 hubs, and Prison server (Custom PaperSpigot fork -> VortexSpigot, another Paper fork, and vanilla Paper) - Ensuring our fireware was properly configured (no rate limits, or bad rules) - Disabling plugins we believed to be at fault, or were interacting with things at a deep level that could potentially cause our issue We Know: - It isn't our dedicated server hardware, or host/DDoS prot (could be something on the machine its self, software wise?) - It isn't the machine being bottlenecked - It isn't the software the proxy, or other servers are running - The issue isn't region based, many players we checked were very far distances from one another The Error (Only shown in proxy logs): [15:36:12] [Netty epoll Worker #44/INFO] [com.velocitypowered.proxy.connection.client.ConnectedPlayer]: [connected player] xxx (/xxx:11576) has disconnected: An internal error occurred in your connection. Hey there, PC building beginner here. Ok... so, I really need help troubleshooting this mess because I honestly don't know where to begin. My PC is a Frankenstein's monster with a mix of older and newer parts. I left it off for some months since I wasn't home and now I went to turn it on and got some weird behavior. It worked and performed fine before. The computer always turns on (fans start to spin, LED on), but 50% of the time I get no video and no current to the keyboard or the audio interface. The other 50% of the time it turns on and appears to work fine, but some of the fans randomly decide to ramp up or slow down for no apparent reason (not really sure which fans, I have 1 on cpu, 2 on gpu, one on chassis and one on PSU). Just before I wrote this post it did turn on but it froze on the home screen, unable to read any input from mouse/keyboard. Haven't really done any gaming or resource-intensive task since the problem started. Looking inside the case, nothing appears to be obviously on fire or at risk of exploding. Not really sure what to do. Could someone give me some pointers about stuff to try out to zero in on the issue? I just recently upgraded from AM4 to AM5 CPU (thanks Newegg BF sales), which required a whole new mobo and CPU. Got a Ryzen 7 7800X3D based on GN reviews of it and capitalized on a pretty good deal. One thing I'm running into is keeping this hot li'l guy cool along with my EVGA 3080. I moved to a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX board and I'm noticing that it is not keeping the tower cool enough, particularly because the temperature in the case does not kick on the case fans due to the "System1" temperature. Which I can only imagine is a temperature based on sensors on the board, not CPU or GPU. With that, my ambient temp in chassis only stays about 25-26 C, even under load, so the intake fans & exhaust fans on the case hardly ever kick on because of barely any change in ambient temps. Also, I tested some fan curves in the BIOS based on the CPU temps, but then that doesn't account for when my GPU is under load. I mostly game at 1440P, so there's a heavy load on the GPU when gaming and, even if the CPU is not getting too hot, I want the case fans to cool off the whole machine. What do you recommend I do to accommodate for controlling case fan speed (intake and exhaust) when the ambient temperature sensors aren't reporting much change? Hi, I bought a refurbished HP Pro/EliteDesk 600 G3 SFF from Amazon for 120. Then a RX 550 4G LP for 35. Budget build. ISSUE: The GPU keeps overheating and causing games to crash. I tried adjusting fan settings and it is still happening. Gets to like 92 or 93 Celsius then crashes. Took it apart and thermal paste seemed fine but maybe I could redo that? ANY OTHER TIPS? I know these things have poor airflow but I have seen many videos of dudes online with similar set-ups. Also card only draws 35-40 watts with a max of 50. One small fan. Please give me some options or just tell me this was a failed experiment. Thanks!

One of my friends is having an issue with her PC. Here's the specs before I continue on: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: RTX 3080 FE on vertical mount w/ PCIe 4.0 compatible riser cable Mobo: ASRock B550m Pro 4 RAM: 48GB (x2 8gb x2 16gb) don't know brand but will update when I find out, I know all sticks are the same brand Storage: 1TB Samsung 980 m.2 SSD PSU: 750w pretty sure its Corsair 80+ Gold full modular The issue she's having is that after a period of time, which seems to be completely random, her PC crashes straight to black screen. For a while we thought it was the CPU since for some reason it was pinned to its maximum clock speed at all times unless Task Manager was open. PC is still crashing from time to time though. Crashes happen regardless of the application from web browsing to heavy games regardless of settings. Tried running it without the riser cable and it still crashes. The fact it crashes directly to black screen makes me think it could be a faulty PSU? Biggest issue is she's in another country so manually troubleshooting is impossible and bringing my extra parts to test against hers isn't possible. EDIT: Tested each RAM stick individually, still crashes out to blackscreen. So either all four ram sticks are busted or its not a ram problem. If anyone has a suggestion regarding the CPU issue with it being pinned to max clock speed all the time. Already manually set the power settings to minimum 5% and max of 99%

Greetings! So I'm halfway through my first ever PC build (everything besides GPU & PSU installed into case so far), and I've stumbled upon this whole 12V2x6 GPU power cable vs 12VHPWR and I have some questions. I'm using this GPU and this PSU, and I noticed the PSU includes a connector for a 12V2x6 cable, but my GPU only has the outdated(?) 12VHPWR connector. Although I did test the GPU outside of the case and everything powers on perfectly fine with normal temperatures with this PSU, from the small bit of research I've done, it seems like there may be a potential risk of cables melting due to PSU overvoltage because of this 12VHPWR connector. I've done my best to understand this potential problem but honestly I'm a little confused, so here I am! So I guess what I'm asking is: should I expect to encounter any problems related to this connector, or am I just being overly cautious? Any information would be greatly appreciated, as I'm not sure if I should try to return the graphics card while I still can and grab a new one that utilizes the updated 12V2x6 connector, or just go ahead and complete my build. Hi! Every time I turn on my pc, everything starts out fine and then the gpu stops. However, if I boot the pc without any USB accessories attached (keyboard/ mouse) it just gives an orange screen with white stripes any advice? gpu not spinning with the rest of the pc on pic of the screen it gives me when turned on the computer is about 2 years old- rog b450f mobo, asus 1060, 32gb 3600mzh ddr4 corsair vengeance, ryzen 5 5600x, 1tb m.2 ssd

I have a pretty new up-to-date system, Ryzen 3900 X processor and a AMD radon 6900 XT graphics card and when I play intensive games my entire pc crashes and reboots (without graphics) and I have 0 idea why, ive tried the default clocking, over clocking, upgrading my PSU, upgrading my ram and im at my Witt’s end, I have another buddy who is experiencing the same problem with intel and nvidia. I have narrowed it down to 2 possibilities.. 1) DX12 is shit because when I go to 11 it never crashes or 2) im drawing too much power from my wall outlet (I have a 15AMP breaker which reading online only allows 1440W) I dont think cooling is an issue my gpu sits around 65/70C when playing games and I could use some help.

I ended up getting a rx580 and threw it in my PC and turned it on and everything worked fine and was even able to install drivers. I used it for about 20 minutes then turned my PC off. The next day I got no signal so I plugged into the integrated graphics on the motherboard and went into device manager and the graphics card wasn't showing up so I went into bios. Bios couldn't detect a graphics card either so I turned it off and reseated my old graphics card which is a GTX 960 and then turn my PC on plugged into the graphics card. Again everything worked fine so I uninstalled all old drivers, reseated the rx 580, turned my PC on, and for some reason everything worked just fine and was, again, able to reinstall the drivers and everything worked. I opened steam and let it download a game which was far cry 6 and after a while I came back and the screen went to sleep. I tapped the space bar a couple of times and the screen immediately came back on like normal and everything still worked fine. Once the download was finished I turned my PC off and came back the next day and then turned my PC on again and got no signal at all. Used the mobo graphics again and same thing, device manager nor bios is detecting a graphics card. Idk if it's because I'm using motherboard graphics that it won't detect it but I don't get any signal from the GPU unless I reseat it and install drivers and it only works the one time. But once I turn it off and back on I get no signal. I've ended up deciding to declare the card dead or "going bad" but I was wondering what you guys make of the situation? Can anyone think of why it only works the one time then goes back to no signal once the PC has been turned off?

Hi! First time poster here! I've got a really strange issue with my new Dell S3422DWG monitor. It arrived 2 days ago and i excitedly plugged it in for the first time. Initially it worked just fine however after 30 minutes the screen went completely dark. I tried all the usual stuff (power cycling, leaving it unplugged for a couple hours, updating drivers, trying both HDMI and displayport etc). None of this seems to work. However, after i went to work yesterday and came home the monitor seemed to work again.......untill it fell asleep and again just doesn't display. The backlight turns on and Windows recognizes the monitor, but no dice. My best guess is that this has something to do with Dells Deep Sleep feature, as I've seen other people saying this has caused them issues. I am able to return it but since this to me seems like a firmware issue it feels like such a hassle. Does anyone have any recommendations or have experienced this before? Many thanks!

Hey everyone I really hope someone can help, since this is completely letting the air out of my excitement. After 2 years of saving up as someone of lesser means I managed to get myself the parts for a new PC during this Black Friday, and today I built it. Everything seemed to work just fine, and in fact I got amazing frames and everything. Then after something like 10 minutes while in the menus of Escape From Tarkov I get a brief black screen on both my main monitor and secondary after which the game crashes, alongside Discord also crashing. At first I just took it as Tarkov being weird, but then it kept happening. Even though I was just in the settings it would crash, and take discord down with it. I fiddled around with a few things, like disabling hardware acceleration on Discord, and looking over my BIOS settings. I came back and it seemed to run just fine I even got into raid. But then it started doing it again in a different game (SCUM) now it even did it right on launch of the game. I kept on trying and it suddenly played great for perhaps about an hour, which I spent looking at temps and usage since SCUM took 100% of my GPU. But in the end it crashed again, I got pretty frustrated, but I'm fairly certain Discord crashed with the game maybe 80-90% of the time. To make a long story a bit shorter, I looked on google but couldn't seem to find anything that actually worked, and all games I played would run great until they didn't and they crashed in the same manner out of seemingly nowhere. I mainly did SCUM, Tarkov and Diablo 4. The Specs of the Pc are as follows: CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X MB - Asus Rog Strix b550-f Gaming GPU - ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7600 V2 OC RAM - 2x16GB Kingston Fury 3600 CL18 (Set to 3600mhz using D.O.C.P) PSU - ASUS ROG STRIX 650G Storage - 1x 500gb Samsung 980EVO and 1x 1TB Kingston KC3000 M.2 2280 If you need any other info or anything please do let me know.
