Hey forum, My dad recently upgraded to triple 1080p monitors for my machine because he uses it for productivity quite often new for work and stuff. And gaming on triple monitors is awesome! At absolute minimum settings because my gtx 760 can't handle it, and even at minimum settings i am getting less than 40 fps and I get terrible lag spikes. I was wondering what graphics card you would suggest for my machine that would let me play at 50-60fps at at least medium settings on this rig. In two years I am going to college and probably won't bring the three monitors and get one 27'' 1440p monitor (depending on dorm size), hopefully by then a 144hz IPS if the technology moves fast enough. So something that is suitable for that as well. I haven't really seen any posts about 3 monitor setups since the gtx 900 release date so that is why I am asking now. PS I would prefer it to be a Nvidia card Specs: i5 3350P (planning on switching it for a 4770 in the other machine) 16GB RAM Corsair XMS3 Gigabyte GTX 760 750 watt Power Supply Corsair CX750 Corsair Carbide 330R Asus P877-V LK Z77 motherboard

Hey LTT community! I've recently been playing around with the idea of a triple surround gaming system but I'm not sure about how much power I would need to run demanding games (eg. BF4) at Ultra settings with lots of eye candy turned on. Also if you could point me towards some relatively cheap monitors that would be cool too but It doesn't matter if you don't. Thanks.

Ok, So whenever I Alt Tab into Payday 2 my other two monitors which are not running the game start to Flicker black and white. Where the whole screen is unlegible and the only bit that I can properly see is the very top. I have been able to fix it by unplugging a monitor and rebooting but I'm looking for a solution to fix it without Rebooting or a Way to Completely prevent it.

Need to buy first monitor for new build, I'm currently using a basic HD TV and wasting all of my GPU. I need a cheapish monitor, preferably under £250 but am willing to stretch to £300. I'm a student so have to move every year, don't want to haul 3 screens around with me for now. Prefer IPS but not completely against TN, also interested in 21:9 but is it any good for a triple screen setup? Medium gaming so response time really isn't a big deal for me, have played consoles all my life. What would you suggest?

Is this a good build? And is everything compatible?
Igryoo posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I'm building a PC and I wanted to check before I went ahead and ordered all the parts whether everything was compatible and would be able to handle a triple monitor setup at 1080p. I'm gonna mainly use it for video editing and multi-tasking, but not really gaming. G'day TechTips community, I am looking at taking my current 3 monitor setup and making it into a 4k with two 1080p monitors on the sides, but this is slightly od as what I would LIKE to do, I haven't heard of many people doing. I would like to turn two of my 24" 1080p monitors to portrate and have a 4k display in the middle (landscape/traditional orientation) but obviously with the same pixel density accross all 3 (or as close to that it's not anoying). Another restriction for this project is that I already own 3 Asus VN248H monitors, which I intend to keep as I need them for colour accuracy, so they will be the two either side of the 4k display (that I have not purchased yet). The Asus VN248H monitors I have already are 23.8"(60.5cm), 16:9, IPS monitors with a pixel pitch of 0.2745mm. Has anyone here done this or attempted to and could share any insight? Can anyone see why this might be a problem or why I am not seeing this as common place? Any general ideas, feedpack, tips or advice for this project would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, JJ.

I'm giving up on trying for my 27" triple monitor setup. The only 27" monitor with slim enough bezel to not affect gaming, VESA mountability, and 1440 for high resolution was the ROG Swift $799 x 3 = $2,397. (1080p looks horrid on any monitor over 24"). So, after giving up on that pipe dream, i'm looking for the same type of setup in 23"-24" monitors. I'm looking for slim to no bezel monitors with VESA compatibility. That's really the thing i'm interested in the most. I'm want to pay around $299, but if it's a good enough monitor i will go up to $399 - $449. I do not want to go with a TN panel due to having to look straight at it; that would make it very bad for surround gaming. If it matters, i'm looking to mount them with arm mounts for much better utility. Thanks guys, ~Shark

Ok, so I have a Samsung 2494SW 24" 1080p LCD monitor right now. As long as they have the same specs, can I buy two different monitors to put on either side and it would look ok?? Thanks

Hi all, My question is quite a difficult one, it's very specific. So I got a 2gb gtx 770 and a single 1080p monitor, I'm looking for an upgrade. It's meant for gaming and 3d work. The games I'm looking to play are racing sims and bf4, hardline etc. An ultra wide from lg would be 2560*1080, the oculus will probably launch with 1440p or higher and triple monitor would be 5760*1080 of course. So the next question is: could my single 2gb gtx 770 run these setups? It doesn't have to be on ultra even though it would be nice for immersion. So what would you do? Thanks for reading!

I know you guys don't think it is worth it but it has been on my bucket list for ever and I can't afford a 1440p monitor so I might take the plunge and get a third. Could I have your pros and cons about gaming or productivity? Here are mine: Pros Cons More space for activities! Expensive for old news Can finally get a monitor for skype and Games might not support triple steam so I don't have to keep using alt tab Get that eyefinity experience I have always dreamed about Might give me an edge for games with a map (eg: CIV) Looks badass Feel totally immersed Be able to use my peripheral vision

I have decided to make my own gaming PC for the first time, and am having some problems picking parts. I need a graphics card that allows me to game across three 23" monitors, at 1080p with as high a frame rate as possible (at least 30 FPS). I also don't have a very large budget and would like it to be under $400 if possible. The one I am thinking of getting is a refurbished GeForce GTX 680. Would this be able to support everything I want, or is there something else I should consider.

Hey. I was wondering what fps i would achieve with the most demanding games in ultra settings in 5760x1080 with 2 780ti's in SLI. I already have a 780ti ACX OC card and will get the 780ti Classfied soon too. I'll end up overclocking both to their limits and am wondering if they will push 60FPS+, and if so, is it worth buying 120Hz monitors to facilitate the high FPS. I already have a BenQ XL2420t and am wondering if i should just get 2 60Hz 24 inch monitors or get another 2 XL2420t's. Build is: 4790k (will end up OC'd) 2x Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2x 780ti 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz XSPC Raystorm 750 EX360 ASUS Sabertooth Mark 2 Corsair AX860i Power Supply I still need to buy a few of these components but that will be the build in the end. Another side question, will 860W be enough...

This is going to be my first build and I would really appreciate some advice. This is mainly going to be a workstation for application development. Gaming, video editing and 3d rendering might happen but it is not the main purpose of the build. I develop highly concurrent applications so more core is better I prefer stability over balls-to-the-wall performance, so no overclocking is going to happen The build needs to support 3 screens (already have 1, need to buy 2) Monitors should be able to pivot in portrait mode and if possible have a VESA mount. Linux will be the *only* operating system I already have my input peripherals (keyboard and mouse) The build needs to be as quiet as possible Budget is 2000$CAD (canada) Here is what I have so far: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1240 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($274.98 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B SE2 37.9 CFM CPU Cooler ($44.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($189.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($162.00 @ Amazon) Storage: OCZ Vertex 460 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($139.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($149.35 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card ($139.99 @ Amazon) Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ Micro Center) Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($85.98 @ SuperBiiz) Monitor: Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($238.49 @ Amazon) Monitor: *Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($238.49 @ Amazon) Total: $1754.23 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available *Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-08-01 12:48 EDT-0400 Here are my main questions about this build: Video card: How good are the drivers support under linux? Am I better with ATI or GeForce chipsets? SSD drives... Intel 730 series are considerably more expensive, are they worth it? Motherboard: I don't need overclocking support but high-bandwidth memory support and a lot of room for HD expansion is needed. CPU: I don't care for onboard graphics or overclocking so I went with a Xeon processor, is it a good choice or am I still better with an i7? I plan to expand to 32Gb of memory in the future (hence the 2 x 8Gb dimms) and add more SSDs and HD also. Thanks mo

So i have this 42" 1080p TV lying around that is not being put to use, so i'm thinking of using it as a gaming monitor (no hate plz ). I want to have a triple monitor setup, but i don't have the space for 3x(42") monitors on my desk (and quite frankly it seems excessive), so i was thinking of having the 42" TV landscape, and putting two portrait monitors either side of it. By my calculations my 42" screen is 37" wide and 21" tall, so i could get 2x24" monitors ( which i assume are 21" wide) and place them portrait, which would be the same height as my tv. So my questions are: 1. Are my calculations correct? (ie is a 24" monitor 21" wide) 2. Will this work with Nvida surround? 3. Is this a stupid idea ?

Hello all, I'm looking to make the big jump to a 3 monitor setup. My goal is 60 fps in 1080p on all 3. But I'm ok if super demanding games are just playable(30~ fps). Here's my question: I have a Corsair HX850 PSU, will it be sufficient to feed 2 R9 290 GPUs and an FX8350? If so, would I have the headroom to oc the CPU(I drool at the thought of 5ghz)? There are no other significant drains on the system. I keep getting different results from PSU calculators. What do you guys think?

I'm buying two new monitors to go with my current monitor, currently I have an LG 27" monitor, and I need help choosing two new monitors to go with this monitor. I want to spend around £400 - £500 altogether, the monitors have to be 27" and not TN, I do a lot of gaming. I would like a 1440p monitor but I can't really find any at that price range, at the minute i'm looking at this monitor, can't seem to find anything better for the price. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-dell-p2714h-professional-led-ips-monitor-displayport-dvi-1920x1080-300cd-m2-2m1-8ms-usb-hub-vesa

Hey guys. I'm currently have an AOC E2250SWDN 1080p monitor, and since I didn't want to buy 3 new monitors (since I would prefer to have them all the same), I'm just buying two more. And yes, I'm aware IPS would've been good, but I don't have that much money to spend and such, so I can deal with it for now. I bought two DVI cables for two monitors I'm going to buy -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-DVI-Monitor-Cable-6-Feet-Long-/221271734133?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3384d2b775 And of course I got an extra long power cable since I don't have relatively close outlets near my setup. I was curious, would it be fine if my current monitor and a 2nd one was hooked with my first GPU and the 3rd one on my 2nd GPU? Or, should I get a DVI-I cable so I can have one monitor hooked up via DVI-D and one via DVI-I on the 2nd GPU and have my current monitor just on my 1st GPU, hooked up via DVI-D And is there a way to set a monitor the primary one/"middle" one so all the applications and games would open there? Thanks

I've been working on the specs list of a build for a friend who wants a powerful gaming PC. They told me recently that they want triple monitors (I have no idea why), and I was considering the best GPU to buy. I had considered 2 GTX 770s in SLI, but I've heard that SLI has had some problems lately, so I was wondering if a single GTX 780 is a good option for three 1080p monitors (or a 780Ti maybe?). I would like some help with this as I dont know a lot about using multiple monitors. Many thanks, FizzyFantom

Hi there I really need some help as soon as possible. I would like to buy 3 screens and a stand for them, but I really have no idea which would be a very good screen to buy at a lowish price. I'm from South Africa so my currency is Rands and the exchange rate from Rands to USD is about $1 = R11. However it does work out correctly in terms of pricing if you just /10 or *10. So a cheap screen for you and for me is about $100. Anyway I'm not a person who games all day, everyday, so the BenQ XL2420TE is completely out of the question. But I do play some games now and again so quality is kind of important. I would obviously like 3 of the same screens at either 23" or 24" I think most 24" triple flip mount stands can support 23" and 24" (but please correct me if i'm wrong). I would like: 1920x1080p of course LED DVI Budget is about $200 per screen. VESA compatible I really hope you can suggest which screens to get. Also, is this a good mount: (I normally buy my things here) http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/aavara-ts743-triple-flip-mount-lcdled-stand-p-7001.html And lastly do you think this would be good? http://www.amazon.com/Dell-293M3-IPS-LED-23-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B009H0XQRS PS: This is my first post, sorry if i'm not very clear Thank you very much for helping
