  1. Will the 600w sfx psu be fine for this system, if I am aiming to OC the gfx card? CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU Cooler: EK EK-AIO Basic Motherboard: MSI gaming edge max wifi Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 ) Storage: Samsung 980 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME SSD Video Card: GIGABYTE GEFORCE RTX 3060 TI GAMING 8GB OC GDDR6 (REV. 2.0) Case: Lian Li A4-H20 Power Supply: Corsair SF600 600W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular

  3. Budget (including currency): 3-4k USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads: - MSVC compilation - VR games - Misc PC games (Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft, etc.) - Light Unity development / 3d modelling - Light video editing Other details: - I'm upgrading from an Acer Predator laptop from like 2016 - I would like to buy immediately, although I'm tempted to wait for Black Friday or the Nvidia 40 series announcement - I would like to run at 1440 x 165hz - I'm not one to upgrade frequently, so I'd like to use this PC for 5+ years, just like I did with my laptop A couple of decisions that I'm not so sure about: - I cheaped out on the SSDs - I went with the 5950x over the 12900K - I might be overspending on the PSU This is the first PC I've built from scratch. I've done a ton of research, and everything looks like it works, but I'd love to get the build checked by some experienced people to make sure I'm not making any major mistakes. All feedback is appreciated Parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NYY3sL PCPartPicker doesn't have the case I picked out: XTIA Xproto-L
  4. Budget (including currency): 1.2 Lakh Indian rupees or $1500 USD Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS:GO, Valorant, Apex, RDR, GOW, Cyberpunk, SOTTR, Forza Horizon 5, etc. Other details : I don't have any parts, aiming for 1080p/1440p 144hz gaming, buying components one by one and expecting to complete the build till Feb 2023. And this is my first time ever building a pc, but have done a lot of research from YT and forums, feel free to change parts(based on availability in INDIA), open to all sorts of suggestions, any help is appreciated. Here are the parts that I have sorted: (USA) PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fc3trD CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor ($194.00 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: EK EK-AIO Basic 77 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($166.98 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock B550M-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard ($128.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($54.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 980 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($52.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR 8 GB TUF GAMING OC V2 Video Card ($479.99 @ Amazon) Case: Lian Li A4-H20 A4 Mini ITX Desktop Case ($154.99 @ Newegg Sellers) Power Supply: Corsair SF750 750 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply ($169.99 @ Newegg) Total: $1402.92 Link to Indian equivalent of PCPartPicker : https://pcpricetracker.in/b/s/ac47c694-5afa-4d81-8ecd-9263e99447a7
  5. I am planning on my next build to be a SFF Gaming pc with a Ryzen 5 5600x and a RX 6700xt, unfortunately according to case i want to use, the Lian Li A4-H2O, only fits an 322mm long gpu. BUT, the variant of the rx 6700xt i have chosen for its performance and cooling does not fit. I was wondering if any people out there that own or have worked with this case know if the 322mm limit is super strict, or if it has even the smallest of space to fit one more millimeter.
  6. Goal: Small form-factor CG/1440p @ 144hz Gaming build, good thermals and noise performance. Budget (including currency): ~$5000AUD upper limit. Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Photoshop, Blender, various games @1440p. Other details: Typical load: 3D in Blender/ZBrush, heavy Photoshop files and gaming at 1440p (Games ranging from old to current AAA). Aesthetic preference: As black as possible, as little RGB as possible. I live in AUS and it gets really hot here and we don't have air conditioning in our home, so quality cooling components will be a priority. I'm quite sensitive to "low framerates", so the minimum FPS I'd be looking for is 80fps at 1440p for demanding single player titles like RDR2, competitive shooters aren't usually and issue. Rough parts list I have so far, nothing concrete: CASE: NR200P (Will be using the mesh not the tempered glass side panel) CASE FANS: Noctua NF-A12x25, Phanteks T30 or similar PSU: SF750 MOBO: ? (The component I have the last knowledge of) Seems like a lot of boards are DDR5 only? RAM: 2x16GB (I see DDR5 is very $$$) CPU: 12700k CPU COOLER: AiO vs Air Cooler? GPU: 3070ti STORAGE: 980Pro vs 970Evo? 1x 1TB M.2 OS/Programs 1x 2TB M.2 Games - I liked having OS and games etc on separate drives in previous builds.
  7. Budget (including currency): 1200 Country: Spain Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p and 1440p gaming and future 4K Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi, I need help deciding parts for my itx build. I am using currently ryzen 1600 build, and I can reuse the ram and the gpu. Going intel requires ddr5 (which is really expensive and I already have a decent kit). Wait for 7000 series maybe too long when a good value itx am5 board comes out. I will keep my 2060super until 40 series comes out. It works well in 1080p. I know the cooler is overpriced but I am really into the looks of it, I think it is worth the price for me. Here is the parts list: PCPartPicker Part List: https://es.pcpartpicker.com/list/6jk7Mb CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor (€204.79 @ Neobyte) CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Z53 RGB 52.44 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (€248.95 @ Coolmod) Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard (€193.64 @ LIFE Informatica) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (€77.97 @ FNAC) Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (€159.37 @ Amazon Espana) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB Founders Edition Video Card Case: Lian Li Q58 (PCIe 4.0) Mini ITX Desktop Case (€144.95 @ Coolmod) Power Supply: Corsair SF750 750 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply (€164.95 @ Coolmod) Total: €1194.62 Thanks in advance
  8. Budget (including currency): Hoping to spend less than $600 on the parts that I'm still missing Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mobile workstation, portable VR setup Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This is the list of parts I have laying around from my old build that I'd like to repurpose for this new travel-centric build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3Z2Kqm The only parts I'm missing (and need help with deciding on) for this build are an ITX motherboard, a small-ish case, and a decent small power supply, hopefully all for less than $600. My first instinct was to reach for the NZXT H1, since it seems pretty idiot proof and comes with two out of the three things I'm missing, but having an AIO would be worrying since I'm gonna be moving it around a lot, and it's pretty expensive so not as much value to be had as other options. Another option was recommended by someone on discord yesterday, the ssupd mesh case. The only issues here is that I'd have to supply my own power supply, fans, CPU cooler, and I'd have to decide whether to spend extra on the version that comes with the PCIE gen 4 riser since all the good ITX boards seem to be B550, and my CPU + GPU support it. So, what I'm asking for help with is this: 1. If you believe I should get the NZXT H1, all I need to know is what motherboard you'd recommend : ) 2. If you think I should get the ssupd case, I'd need to know what motherboard and power supply you'd recommend. I'd also like to know if there's any difference between the version that's $99 on newegg and the one that's $130 on their website? 3. If you think an alternative like the cooler master NR200 would fare me better, then lemme know and I'll have to take a look Any other advice related to this would also be appreciated! I've only ever build in mid or full towers before so I'm not sure how this small build is gonna fare. I'm gonna be going to micro center tomorrow to pick up a motherboard, so that's the main thing I'm concerned with at the moment. Thanks! Edit: I've gotta get up early to drive across the state to micro center, so I'll be looking over and responding to any replies once I wake up.
  9. Budget (including currency): SGD $140 (the cheaper the better) Country: Singapore Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Nil Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Nil Hi LTT community, I need recommendations for a PC case. I am shifting my pc components from my Corsair Carbide 400C. I want to go for a SFF cube-style case to put in on my desk as my current corsair carbide 400c is on the floor. I really really like the Fractal Design Node 804. But sadly it cannot fit a ATX board, and its features seem rather old considering it still has a slit for optical drive and I think the USB is an old slower standard (?). I am considering the Lian Li o11 Air Mini. But the cheapest in Singapore costs about SGD$139. And If i want to buy a vertical GPU mount, I have to buy a separate part which is about another SGD$100. So I am looking for suggestions from the community for similar cube-style cases My criteria for the case is that it should fit an ATX board (my current board being MSI B450 tomahawk). GPU wise, currently I am using a Gigabyte GTX 1070ti. In future I plan to upgrade to RTX 3060TI, which i don't think are necessarily chonky enough to limit my case choices all that much. The case should also let me mount minimally 1 ~2 3.5" HDD and 1 ~ 2 2.5" SSD.
  10. I just built the system and I have tweaked every setting possible to land at the following temperatures in the NR200P max with the default 280 AIO. The closest comparable AIO to this in the market would be the ML280 from cooler master. My current setting are: PBO is set to advance. PPT 165 TDC 116 EDC 130 Curve optimizer set to per core: -30 on all cores except the two performance cores selected by the OS, those are on -10. Voltage offset of -0.05625 With these settings, I get an all-core boost to 4.5 GHz and 4.85 GHz on a single core. It is not the performance I am concerned with at this moment, but rather the temperatures. Seeing as a 280 AIO would take some time before the water in the loop is heated up and the temperatures being to spike, I am concerned for my setup as I see very frequent temperature spikes and the temperature finally settles at around 88 C. This would not be bad if I had the cooler taking air from within the case however, I have changed the radiator fans to intake cool air from the top. For a CPU consuming 170 Watts at full tilt, seeing 88 C from a 280 AIO is very disappointing. I have tried remounting the cooler several times with no improvement whatsoever. And from doing this so many times, I have noticed that the mounting pressure is not even on the CPU block even when I gradually tighten the screws. The paste always looks like it gets squeezed out from the middle and accumulates on the sides. I am out of all ideas and I would appreciate any help I can get on this.
  11. Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my processor pretty soon here to either the 5900x or the 5800x3D. Currently sporting a Scythe Big Shuriken 3 in my Meshilicious with my current R5 3600 which works great. Would this cooler still be sufficient if I were to upgrade to the 5800x3D or 5900x? I know that eco mode is an option but I'd like to have that as the second to last resort, the last being to buy a new cooler.

I want to create a SFF PC very similar to this build Linus about a year back, but with some key differences. The major differences are: - Same case, the Sliger 580 w/ bifurcated PCIe slots, but with a window panel on the CPU side (I have the NZXT Z53 I'm bringing from my last build), and instead of two 140 MM fans at the bottom, I want to place two 2.5" SSD drives in the spot where one fan could go. These are the drives I'd like to be in RAID - Speaking of RAID, instead of a capture card, I'd like to do a RAID controller connecting to the two SATA SSDs (As a photographer, I'm bringing over a LOT of data and files) - 5800 CPU instead of the 3900 - A non FE 3080 where all the fans face the same direction and pull air in through the slotted panel. My questions are as I begin this process: - In 2022, is a dedicated RAID card necessary, or could I get by with just a software based controller? Keep in mind, I'll also have two NVMe SSDs where the games, apps, and non work related files will be kept. - Will loosing a 140MM fan significantly reduce airflow and performance? Even if I'm using a GPU that's technically better then the FE at cooling a sandwich style layout?
  14. Hey all. Will be moving to the UK in a few weeks and I'm looking to finally go the SFF route. Although I'm pretty experienced in PC hardware in general, this will be my first time fiddling with SFF. 1440p gaming, some productivity, yada yada. Aiming for a 5800X + 3070 or better. Being able to fit 2x 3.5" HDDs would be great but not strictly necessary, I can make do with just one for now. I think that the NR200P with my config should fit them just fine? Budget is flexible, trying to keep it around £2000 but no big deal also. My main worry would be the compatibility regarding the NR200P case and the Scythe FUMA 2 cooler. Is that a good combo? Seems to just barely fit. Please do suggest other cooler options if you can think of any. The Noctua NH-L9i seemed promising, but seems to be Intel only? I also read that the NR200 non-P has better airflow and I don't really care about the tempered glass panel from the NR200P. However, the non-P is +£35. Should I switch? 17. Needing more horsepower for some research I'm working on currently, I started planning a build since my poor Surface Pro could no longer cut it, I also needed to be mobile all the time and so opted for a SFF build. I came across an awesome build by GGF Events on YT and fell in love. As SFF builds are notorious for having component compatibility issues etc. I based my system on his awesome layout - but not all went smoothly as originally planned. For those interested in a similar build - a few handy tips I learned the hard way, Regarding the GPU water block length - this caused me massive headaches since I had a limit of +/-240mm. Note that I already bought the EK FLT-80 type RES did not have time to check for better combinations. Really important to keep this in mind when choosing your setup. The PCI cable included in the case will not work with the as the GPU block I used will clash with the radiator. I had to to have a custom 1U case bracket manufactured for the GPU block and new mountings for a smaller PCI cable with a 90Deg bend. Double check the your heights measured from the PCI slot to the top of the card. - See references. Planning a loop wasn't easy (at least for me since it was my first hardcore build) and I spent a lot of time planning the routing and bends to save on fittings. Plumbing was also a pain since I needed to route the piping underneath the case requiring drilling holes and wasted money with fittings. Don't be me and you will save heaps of money. I would recommend using EK-FLT 90Deg fittings since they are 2/3 the cost of the EK-Torque fittings. Given my professional background, I don't trust the cheaper push in fittings and so recommend to use EK-Quantum HDC Torque fittings to prevent the possibility of leaks as O-Rings perish over time. a few bucks over replacing something 10x the price to me makes sense. Airflow is terribly optimsed, after a few experiments, I had to incorporate a custom 3D printed fan cowling system since the solution depended on high static pressure fans. - See references below A few additional tips in general on custom loops Custom loops require basic maintenance. Ensure to follow coolant guidelines on flushing & fluid lifetime. Use gloves during construction or fluid replacement to prevent possibility of bacterial contamination. DO NOT use DEMIN water in your system unless you like instantaneous corrosion that ruins metallic coatings and wears out pump bearings. Keep your case and fans clean - dust build up on fans ruins performance and adds excessive bearing wear. All my hassles were due to the fact that I was hell bent to keep all parts EK and didn't mind to do modifications. Since I'm sure someone else may be interested in using this case, I developed a parametric model which proved handy for planning and tuning the layout. Just note that all components sizes and placements are according to my measurements and should be taken with a pinch of salt. In any case - hopes this proves helpful to someone out there in the wilderness. 18. Whenever I watch some cool SFF building videos their cases never have glass panels. And I mean... these builds are small but I'm certain that you can fit some RGB in there Are there any cool SFF / Console cases with tempered glass panel?
  19. Hey fellow LTT members! For anyone looking into premium SFF cases, the ThorZone Mjolnir is finally out of the prototype phase and is available for pre-order in 8 days! It stands out as one of the better sub 10L options overall. I heavily considered it when I was looking earlier in the year, but it was not in stock so I went for the FormD T1 instead. Here is the pre-order countdown link. https://thor-zone.com/mini-itx/buy/ Pretty pricy, but this is almost standard within this market segment. And some great Optimum Tech vids: Keep in mind this was a review of the prototype.
  20. So I currently have a build in the Silverstone SG13, I want to upgrade to a more premium SFF case. The Sidearm/FormD T1 is at the top of my list but seems really hard to actually buy, next on my shortlist is the ThorZone Mjolnir, which is in some post-pre-order state and cannot be bought as well. I already have ruled out the M1, and the Dan A4, the Ghost S1 is okay but I hate the top hat design, really want to avoid that if I'm going to spend the money. I also considered the Geeek A60 Plus, but by the time I pay import tax, shipping, and currency exchange I'm near $200cad. I'd rather not spend that on a acrylic paneled case. I'd rather overspend on a legit premium SFF case. My requirements are: - Case under 12L - Fits a 120mm AIO (Corsair H60), ideally a spot for a second 120mm fan as well (240mm would be cool, custom loop potential) - TG Panel option Any other case suggestions? I am okay with waiting but just wondering if there are any other good options available. Also, if the case comes disassembled that is totally fine, if anything I like the idea haha. 21. Small Form Factor PC’s can be somewhat powerful and very small nowadays, but there are always tradeoffs. They're tough to build in, hard to plan, often limit cooling, and are hard to silence. These tips are based on my experience with a Fractal Design Node 202 Case for ~2 years; this isn't comprehensive and I'm no expert, but I never found all these things together when I went looking, so I decided to put this together. This is also my first post besides bricking a motherboard with bad cooling (See Cooling>Ducting for what I’ve learned, I stress tested my new setup A LOT and found the culprit). Planning General Modding Cooling
  22. Hello! I'm considering a build in the case of a Power Mac G4. Obviously the case is REALLY small; I will need some extraordinary cooling. The question is, is this enough cooling? I want to use this radiator: http://hardwarelabs.com/nemesis/micro/m92gtx/ which claims to be able to handle 220W of heat. I can fit fans on push and pull, I have room for a DDC pump, and I have plenty of access to fresh air and clean exhaust. I want to use it to cool an Intel Core i5-9400F and an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti. The combined TDP of these two is 120W+65W = 185W. I know it's not a lot of headroom, but I don't plan to overclock. Am I nuts? PS: With some work, I *might* be able to fit two of these radiators: https://www.aquatuning.us/water-cooling/radiators/radiators-active/19749/alphacool-nexxxos-xt45-full-copper-60mm-dual-radiator Would this be any better?
  23. Hi everyone, I am looking to build a small home server to use as NAS for media server (Plex) and i'd like to build apps and run apps of it. I'd like to have some input if hardware is right/enough for it. case : Node 304 (really like fractal, but idk if there will be an updated version of this soon... and 804 is a little to big for my needs I think) motherboard : not sure, whatever is cheapest to run ryzen. CPU : 2600/3600 or 3200g . IDK if the 3200g will be enough to run and build stuff all at the same time. GPU : will depend if Choose 3200g or 2600/3600 ram : 8 or 16? does frequency mather if its not for gaming? PSU : 500w 80+ bronze, ill get something with the biggest discount at the time of buying. Storage : m.2 ssd samsung 250-500 gb Do i need NAS drive, of standard drive will do? For the OS, not sure IF i should get Windows and Run VMs of it Or should I go for Ubuntu ? or another distro maybe? I have IT background, so the administration of which ever plateform doesnt scare me too much. I have my thoughts about my build, but i'd like some input regarding the use case. Thanks !
  24. Never built a computer, Never wanted to. Boredom (Covid-19 and YouTube) and the need to work with my hands was my inspiration. Last computer: 10 yr.old HP laptop. Last PC gaming experience: 2011 Just Cause 2 . But now I am editing, compiling, fixing and archiving family photos, videos, and restoring from negatives at home. Things that before I could only do at work on ridiculously expensive equipment. Also occasionally enjoying AAA gaming. Many hours of YouTube research brought me here but not without noob mistakes in planning and execution. I started with a MB(A320) that didn't fit the case (Cougar QBX), and the second MB (ROG 470-I gaming) didn't run the CPU (Ryzen 3400G) without a bios update from Micro Center). What a start! Time to put it together. Yes, I rotated the AMD logo fan cover. Does that count as my first Mod? Vega graphics good but not enough, I needed a 2080 Ti, but I could afford a used MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X. Bent the hell out of the case to fit it in. And because of the height? or width? of the GPU the power cables stuck out too far so I couldn't put the side cover back on. Got a great ebay deal on a used Ryzen 3800x ($215). But will it work? YES! Add used 16gb G.SKILL TRIDENT Z 3600 C16 and right angle power cable adapters so I can now close the side cover snugly against the cables. Only this Noob would buy one of the only GPUs that doesn't fit this case. Time for the dremel and black tape to cover MCI logo. 3800x thermals too high, Let's pack it with fans. This case will fit 2-120mm exhaust fans in the top but the PSU power plug goes the wrong way. Buy a plug adapter that goes the other way, shave it down till it fits. I'm getting the hang of this dremel thing. Success! Finished....for now.....thermals under load 79 degrees. Cinebench 20 score 5170. I love this machine. The dimensions of the Gamecube are too small for Mini ITX. Combine Mini STX with COVID-19 availability and it was resulted in difficulty in locating a Mini STX motherboard. eBay and Amazon are dry. I found one via: https://www.shopblt.com/item/gigabyte-ga-h110mstx-hd3-h110-dp-lga1151-i/gigmbd_gah110mstxhd3.html. I've found 6th/7th gen Intel CPUs available on eBay and I have a Pentium G4400 laying around that I can at least boot up the computer with. I can source the rest of the parts (dremel, DDR4 laptop memory, M.2 drive, SFF cooler if Intel cooler won't work for various reasons, DC adapter). I guess my main questions come down to: 1. Will I be able to find a graphics card that will fit this thing? Most graphics cards I can find are ~ 170MM in length and the Gamecube is ~ 150 x 160 x 110. Even the low profile GPUs seem to be longer than SFF cards 2. Will waiting out COVID-19 even be fruitful for finding Mini STX motherboards? Supply seems low and I'm not sure what regular pricing is. I know Gigabyte/Asrock/Asus make Mini STX boards, but can't find any new other than the link posted above. There was a part on two different Mac websites that says "unavailable" after you attempt to buy it for ~ $40 US. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've found other threads on sites talking about building PCs inside of the Gamecube. Computer will be hooked up to a Samsung 4K TV. I currently have a computer using an i3-4370+GTX 1650 hooked up to it. Works fine for 1080p, though I can crank up to 4K for older titles.
