Hey guys. I have a rx 470 and thinking about overclocking it. I currently have an i3 3240, but the performece are rly good, even in AAA games like witcher 3 (high-45 fps). Will the overclock give me a visible advantage? How to overclock? What clock speed I can achieve?

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone happens to know the performance difference, primarily in 1080p as the main video game I play is dota 2, between a single sapphire rx 580 4gb nitro and 2 msi rx 470s 4gb armor in crossfire. Like I said I mainly only play dota in 1080, but can't really find any info that compares these sets of cards. Any advice/info is appreciated. Thanks

Hello guys. First of all I want you to excuse my English, still can commiunicate propelry though. (only learned English for about a year now). Recently I decided to come back to pc gaming after 3 years of x360 gaming. I decided to go with 1080P since I was used to lower-end gaming cause of the console. decided to bang the buck and upgrade a slow old (and extremely dusty) pc so it can run *aa* titles at 60fps. the pc had an i3 3240, integrated gpu, asus h61m-k mb, a 300 watt psu, and 1tb hdd of storage. My drive was dirty and full of unnecessary apps. Still was able to run tf2. I decided to go with a mid-tier gpu, cause luckily my mb supports pci expresse 3. I was afraid my psu will crack under the pressure of a new gpu, (plus the site for the rx 470 recomended 500 watt), so I bought a 520 watt psu from seasonic. I had 4gb ram. I knew ram does not affect gaming directly, but I think 8 gb is the standart so yes... Bought 4gb of additional ram. Also formatted the drive and added *A LIFE SAVER* ssd. 240gb. Now I cleaned the old case I had with a duster, installed the ram and connected the cables of the new psu. Connected the ssd. Now came the horrific horror. My gpu was too big for the sata ports that were conveniently placed very close to the pci slot. I had to buy now sata cables, 90 degrees one. Now that my pc was connected, I booted the OS from a usb and started windows. Formatted the drive and started installing useful applications. My pc was so fast compared to the old one. The ssd with to OS and the hdd slave worked amazingly. Now for the gaming side of things. I installed some aa games and the pc wrecked 'em. Decided to test some more serious titles, here are the result: gta v ultra settings, msaa x4 - 44-60 fps high without msaa - 75 fps stable the witcher 3 wild hunt ultra post proccessing high - 52 fps stable, in novigrad around 43 watch gods 2 - ultra with bloom and motion blur off - 50 fps in city, 55 in nature. fallout 4 with preformence mod - 60 fps. far cry primal very high - 55 fps - 60. far cry 4 max - 60-70 fps overwatch - 75 fps average, but changes with maps. doom max - this one was a blast for me. 100 fps stable with openGL. hitman - again changes a lot with maps, the italy one runs like sh**, but the others are 55-70 fps, not stable. ac syndicate - this one is effected a lot by settings. I mixed high with very high and achived around 45 fps, but very smooth. sniper elite 4 - 65 fps, very stable and smooth. Dishonored 2 runs 60 fps at most levels, but some dropps a lot. just casue 3 - around 45-52 fps, but with micro stutters. The prefs immpressed me a lot, considering the cpu. another thing, the ssd is so amazing, games load so quick, compared to x360. For conclusion: pc upgrade costed about 240$, the old pc costed me 300$ in 2013. So happy with results. That's it, thank you guys for reading. Post what you think about this build below.

Hello! After years of playing on Xbox, I've finally wanted to upgrade to PC, and I've given a go at building one, need some help though, as I want to be sure this is ok for me: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hwqr8K My main goal is to decently run Total War Warhammer, and perhaps the Warhammer 2 as well. Also, if there is any price trimming or slight upgrades you can suggest that will still suffice, that would be TREMENDOUSLY helpful! Thanks in advance for any and all help!

So I just discovered how much the RX 400 and 500 series cards were going for on ebay and listed my rx 470 immediately. Currently, the highest bid is $320 and I might even get around 350 for it, but there have been similar cards go for around $400. So I've been looking to get a gtx 1060 but don't know really which one. Which is the best card in the $200-300 price range that I should get and that is actually available? (It would be nice to pay around 250-275 but don't really want to go any higher).

I am selling my rx 470 on ebay and hopefully will end up with atleast £190 not counting ebays chunk of the money. I would like to buy a graphics card on par or a bit better than my rx 470, as much better would be bottlenecked by my G4560 and not necessary at 1080 with my games. Im looking to make a small profit but not required, so a 1060 3gb is probably the best i can get new. Looking for some cards under 200 that will perform similar/better, quietly (my 470 was/is loud) and new or used. If its under £160 all the better

Weird artifacts with differant colours showing on screen after overclocking. They only appear when I'm using my mouse/keyboard when im at desktop, google chrome or anything similar. (NOT IN GAMES OR WHEN RUNNING STRESSTESTS).How this happend:I overclocked Core Clock, Core voltage, raised power limit to max and put 75C as max temp. After this I started raising Memory Clock, I kept stress testing each time I raised it and it seemed stable as ever. When im at 1850 (stock is 1750) I ran a last stress test and now I have artifacts on my screen. What I've tried so far:Stopping the overclockDownclocking speed and voltageRaising voltage and leaving the rest at stock speed.Turning everything on and offPulling out cables and putting them back in. Letting everything cool down overnight.Doing a pc reset to the date that I first booted my pc and installed the drivers and nothing else.Sinse everything is fine when gaming or running stress tests I believe nothing is broken but I don't know much because this is my first time overclocking. The max temp the GPU got was 73C and this was ages before I got this problem.Questions:1: Is my gpu broken?2: If it is broken can I return it and get a refund?3. Can updating drivers or MSI afterburner (if possible) solve this?4. Is overheating the only way to destroy a GPU while overclocking and if so is 73C enough to fry a rx 470 8gb?5. I feel like this has something to do with the Memory Clock, is 1850 alot if stock is 1750?6. (random oc question) If my GPU usage keeps going down to 0 sometimes during a stress test mean that it's not stable? The stress test I ran often goes black and fps changes from 20-100 with an average of 40ish fps. When reinstalling GPU drivers I ended up with no drivers (i think). I tried starting a game and it did not work. During this time I saw no artifacts on my screen.

RX 480/470/580/570s selling for $800 is a joke. I don't care how good they are at mining. When some of those cards sold for $250 when they 1st came out it seems like a sick joke that the prices are almost 3 times that. TRIGGERED!!!!!

A friend has been asking me about computer parts lately since he is in the photography business, he bought a 4k sony camera recently and he uses adobe premiere to edit the videos he makes, he asked me about a gpu i can recommend to him that would help him not only render faster but make adobe premiere not lag, prices for gpus in our country are different of course so its kind of hard to recommend him a gpu that would be the best for his money, help? And oh his other pc components are the i5 4440 3.10ghz and 12gb of ram he 3 gpus i cant decide on are the gtx 1050 ti, rx 470 (when its back in stock) and rx 570 both rx cards being the 4gb version of course. the prices of the gpus are as follows gtx 1050 ti $178 USD, rx 470 (normally cheapest when in stock) $227 USD, rx 570 $255 USD. after upgrading his gpu he said he wants to upgrade his cpu, i recommended him the r5 1600, and 16gb of ram, so anyway is it the gpus fault that makes adobe premiere lag during 4k rendering? (or any resolution rendering) i dont know the current gpu in his rig but its definitely something low end (since he was looking at the gt 730 for an upgrade)

I recently got an ebay account to sell my rx 470 due to the price spike and what they are selling for on ebay right now. I am new to ebay so i am just wondering if my listing seems reasonably priced and the like. I priced it at £195 for the starting bid and max £10 shipping

https://tweakers.net/gallery/755741/wenslijst/ Click on "test" when being on the site and the parts will poppup. Is the build approved? Will there be no problems when building the build? Please dont recommend more wattage or something else coz 450 watt is good enough and i cant afford much more than this build. I really dont want problems building the pc so is t approved?

So, I've recently put a XFX RX 470 into my PC.... But I only have a 350W PSU. It's been running stable, but I dont know if I should get a new PSU. The current one dosent make any smoke, smell, or cause the PC to crash. It runs fine. I'm scared though, that Ill turn on My PC one day and the PSU will just die.

Hi guys, I used the following PC configuration for more than a year: CPU: 8300, GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P SSDNow V300 120GB SATA-II Win 8.1 @64 PSU: Super Flower SF-500P12N 500W The problem I'm facing is that my new GPU (470 ASUS 4GB) can't be used in any game for more than a few minutes. The system shuts down instantly, the power button remains on and the system cannot be opened unless I replug the power cord cable. From what I've read the PSU should handle them but I guess it doesn't. I have more details over this topic and so far it seems there is a PSU issue. Last time it happened my windows files were damaged along with my bios system I was wondering to buy one of these two PSU, what do you think? Super Flower NOVA 600W or Corsair NEW VS Series VS650.

System specs Fx 6100 ASUS Strix RX 470 8GB of HyperX Ram Asrock 960GM-VGS3 FX So my friend got a 470 about a month ago and when he first used it in games such as rust, he got the same or worse performance than his 750 ti did. He gets 35 fps on the highest settings at 1080p. According to a video he should be getting 60+ fps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MZiWr61s3E He is using the latest drivers. He said sometimes the GPu. says 0% usage.

So I recently purchased this MSI RX 470 from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137050&cm_re=rx_470-_-14-137-050-_-Product I have been running off intel integrated graphics for about a month now, and am ready to install my gpu. Other than plugging it in and installing drivers, is there anything else I need to do, like disabling the integrated graphics or something?

I'm looking to find out if two GPUs, particularly a GTX 1070 and RX 470, can have programs associated to one or the other, and completely ignore the main display settings within Windows 10 Pro. I'd prefer it if what I want is built in as a universal feature, without needing to run 3rd party utilities. I know there is some validity to this, the feature is supported on the Surface Book. Edit: I run a monitor off of each GPU, and due to the main display setting in Windows, certain programs only work on the monitor chosen as the main display. Running the 1070 and the panel connected to it as the main display has issues and renders the 470's panel useless when gaming, benchmarking, overclocking, and running certain programs in full screen mode.
