What would be a worthwhile upgrade from a r9 390?
-
So I've encountered an issue where my AMD Radeon Settings crashes every single time I try to access the Display portion of the settings. The program crashes with this error and clicking debug does nothing: I have an AMD Radeon R9 200 series card which according to Device Manager is completely up to date for drivers. If I could get any help from this I'd highly appreciate it. Have been dealing with this for a couple months now.

So I decided to sell my PS4 and gpu, my ps4 sold within a day of me posting the ad on Kijiji. I listed my gpu ( R9 380x ) for 275 cad, and I had only one offer for 200. Should I look to sell it on eBay? Or Amazon? Or is there somewhere better to sell used GPU's?

Hi, I bought an R9 Fury Nitro from Sapphire used, just a few weeks ago. When I bought it i only made sure that it works under load, but I unfortunately did not have a look at the clock speed it was running at. Whenever I put the card under full load (both stress-testin and real world gaming load) it starts throwing the clockspeed all over the place and eventually settles in at about 400mhz. Temperature can not be the issue since it never reaches more than 45C thanks to a watercooler. I researched online and some people seemed to have the same problem with the Fury Cards, but none of their fixes worked at all. Neither Clockblocker, nor increasing the voltage in Trixx had any results - the ladder even made it worse. Could there be any damage to the card that results in this behaviour? I'd really appreciate If anyone knew something to try out in order to fix the problem. Even though I'm a pretty techy person I am starting to run out of ideas. If it helps, here are the system specs: i7 3770 Asus PZ77-V LK motherboard 16Gb Crucial Ballistics DDR3 Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro Corsair RM750x PSU Thanks in advance, Simon btw. I already checked for the usual suspects, like power draw, bad cables, bios/ driver updates, etc...

My VTX3D card doesn't display a picture. The ventilators spin and it is directly getting power from my 650w Corsair PSU, but when I plug a cable between my monitor and the card it doesn't show a single pixel. Has anyone else had this problem? If yes, then please help me. R9 280X VTX3D 3GB

When I install my R9 200, my screen goes black after the Windows startup happens. When I run my computer without the R9 200, it works just fine. I want to run MSI Afterburner to adjust voltage to see if that works, but I can't because the GPU is not registered for some reason when I try to run the program, even in Safe Mode. I've tried reinstalling drivers multiple times, to no avail. Solutions, please?

Hello last year I bought a XFX R9 280x Double D from Amazon, a couple days after building my newly built gaming pc an i5 4590, 8GB of Crucial ballistic ram, 750w Corsair power supply, ASRock Fatalty z97 killer mother board, 1TB Segate HDD I started to notice that in games I would start to get graphic artifacts textures stretching, pixels that would flicker etc games were unplayable once they started happening. Then after I would exit the game hoping the graphic artifacts would stop I would go and watch youtube videos, I would get lines in the youtube videos as well as just browsing the internet I would get lines across the browser flickering from time to time. I did some research and found out that the core clock speed and the memory clock speed is to high and people recommend to down clock both the core and memory speeds just a little bit. After doing so it fixed it for about a day and started back up again. I called XFX and soon got a RMA after putting the new GPU in and played around in some games and got more graphic problems the problem seemed like it never stopped. I've went about a week or so without having problems and then it continued some days would be better than others. The pictures below make me confused because during idle or even just at the desktop the memory clock would go from 150 MHz to 1500 the core clock would go from 300 MHz and jump up to 850 MHz randomly without having anything on my desktop or without doing anything other than having MSI afterburner open I put some pictures of the hardware monitors could anyone help me with this I also called XFX for the third time and even without having my Warranty active they are still going to RMA the card sadly I feel like this will not help me or fix the problem because RMAing the card once didn't help they sent me two bad cars so what are your guys idea on what should I do? Thank you

K. I have asus R9 280x and psu corsair hx 650. That boi has blue 2x8 pci-E and black 6x6 Periferals and Sata connections. My other GPU only needs 8pin pci-E, however, R9 280x boots only when it starts on all 2 blue 8 pci-E (16) but it should take only 6+8 (1x6pins from Periferals and Sata, and 1x8pins pci-E), where in last case system won't boot at all, only half sec coolers lights and done, no response until O/I PSU . I want to give 1x8pin for each of my gpus , and add 1x6pin for R9 280x and boot all of that somehow. I know that I could solder 8+6 just into 8pin and it should work but I never done this before, or probably my system won't boot because 6pins power really only for Periferals and Sata, or it start work not at the same moment with 8pins, don't know. Help pls to find best cheap and fast solution for this problem, thanks.

gpu Are 900 Series GTX (And The Like) Still Good Budget GPU's?
Volework posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hey everyone! Volework here. I'll keep it short and sweet. So, I've managed to collect around $550 to play with for some new computer parts, and I'm really leaning on Newegg's Early BTS Sale and Refurbished parts if I can to get the best "Bang For Your Buck." What I'm really looking for are parts that I can keep for at least 2 - 4 years and still be able to play new releases fairly well, around 50 - 60 FPS on High, with some tweaking. So, that leads me to the question for my GPU: Are GTX 900 Series / R7 300 Series / R9 200 Series still good (I think I got the hierarchy's right...)? What do you guys recommend? -
Hey guys! I bought the "PowerColor Radeon R9 390x2" about a year ago and it runs pretty hot and is very loud. So I was wondering if there is any way to watercool it? Thanks.

So I found a Gtx 770 4gb and a hd 7970 ghz both from gigabyte and both the same price. I was wondering which one I should go for and also if I can fit it inside an rog g20. Thanks (I can't look up benchmarks because of new amd drivers that make the cards run better.

Hey guys it's me again, and this time I got a really big problem. My R9 290X Matrix from Asus which I bought 1 1/2 years ago just died and I dont know why. It was overclocked to 1100Mhz but never ran hotter than 70°C. It worked perfectly without any problems for weeks, but yesterday when I decided to play a round Just Cause 3 my PC crashed without a reason. I just restarted it because and saw a blue "shadow" on a part of my screen from boot on. Windows only booted in safe mode until i removed the graphics card drivers. When I tried to install new / old ones the screens went black and I had to press the power button on my PC. I also tried to get the graphics card in safe mode with the 2nd bios, nothing helped. Is there something I can do to fix it or do I have to buy a new card? Thanks in advance for your answers / help

I recently bought a secondhand Sapphire Nitro R9 380. My computer stuck at BIOS with code 5A at the bottom right of the screen. My processor is Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, motherboard Intel DX38BT, and Excel 500WCE PSU. The computer works fine when I used AMD Radeon HD 6850. Anyone have a suggestion?

Hi! When I had my 290 and I was overclocking, I was having artifacts when pushing the clock too hard. With the 980ti i have rn, the driver crashes. Thing is I know people with 980tis who get artifacts when oc and people with 290(x) who get driver crashes and no artifacts. What makes a gpu to artifact when ocing and what makes another one crash the driver? (I personally liked the artifact type of gpus more as they are much more easier to spot. Crashing drivers are much harder to properly stabilize clocks) Also if you know an nvidia driver which is more stable than the others when overclocking (preferably one from 2019 if it exists).

Hello my fellow techies! I've been looking for an upgrade over my R9 390 for a while now. The problem is that I'm a student right now, and living by myself so I am not able to pay a fortune for a new GPU, but here the other day I stumbled over a used R9 Fury 4gb for £130. Do you think its worth it?

Hello, I'm having issue with Sapphire R9 280 3GB. The graphic card is too noisy in idle mode. It has ~85 degrees and auto Fan Speed at 76 % ,in idle, at gaming it has more. I tried to cleaning it up, but it didn't help. Card has 2 fans and 1 is spinning only. If I set 84 %+ on Fan Speed, the second fan will start spin. I don't know, what is wrong. I need help, thank you!

Hey guys. My specs are:- xeon x5660 (better than even the i7 3770, cinebench score is 710) xfx r9 270x 2gb and 8gb ram (4gb x2). I can push to high settings on every game but in apex legends, even if I lower the rest to 900p and other settings at lowest, I don't get solid 60 fps. It's like 10-15 in air and 40-50 on ground with spikes dropping to 25fps. I've updated the drivers and the game. The worst part is that people with the same gpu worst cpus than mine play on better graphics and get much better results even though they're recording the gameplay. Take a look at these videos for ref https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjSFp9TueAA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQisZzYRVes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErfocfpqIZ4 This is really frustrating please help

No matter what game I play, my r9 270x's core clock is stuck at peak 450 mhz even though all applications such as radeon settings and afterburner have it set as 1050mhz(see pictures for reference). Because of this I'm not able to even get 60fps in games such as mirrors edge catalyst at medium settings when I should be easily able to achieve that. Could be thermal throttling but as the pictures show, temperature peaked out at just 79C. HELP PLEASE my other specs:- Asrock x58 extreme 3 mobo Intel Xeon x5660 @2.8ghz 8GB ddr3 fsp 550watt psu

Hey guys, I'm new to the LTT forum - I did use google and the search function and did not find anything useful. I am the proud owner of an ASUS R9 390X DirectCU II. I had a few problems that could be caused by the card (game crashes and so on) and looked over at techpowerup for a newer VBIOS. I found this https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/183551/asus-r9390x-8192-151110 which is for the very similar STRIX version. Currently this (https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/173754/asus-r9390x-8192-150428) is flashed. My questions are: can I even update the VBIOS of this card and if yes, can I update it to this version? Can I go back? Could I break the card? And would it be useful if I liquid-metaled the card? (I have some lying around.) EDIT: Some specs of my PC if needed: i7 3770k @ 4,5GHz (stable) - watercooled (240mm Radiator) 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz RAM @ 1800 (stable too) Windows running off of a Samsung 840 Evo 250GB Windows 10 1809 - Fully updated AMD Driver 19.2.1 Best regards and thanks in advance Coin
