Not long ago I set up a Samsung SCX-3200 printer on my PC. Printing on the pc works perfectly. Setting it up wasn't too hard but then I wanted to try to be able to print using my laptop, via a private network. At first I thought this was not going to be hard. And it wasn't that hard. I did do some dumb mistakes, like not saving settings a few times and etc. But when I connected the printer with the laptop and tried to print a test document it woke up the printer (the lights turned on the printer), the printing queue said the document was "in queue" and nothing was happening. The document in queue was frozen and then just disappeared, the printer after waking up just stood there and did nothing and the laptop thought that the file was printer. I have been trying to fix this problem for over a week non-stop. My hypothesis is that this is the PC's problem and not the printer's or the laptops's. If you need any photos or more info feel free to ask. Help is appreciated.

Hey guys. I'm thinking of getting a black and white laser printer in the near future, as the prices I have to pay for ink for my current printer are outrageous. I've heard that toner is more economical in the long-run, so I'm hoping to save some money. My budget is in the $100-200 range, so I'm not looking for anything fancy. Printing is really the only function I need, but scanning capabilities would be a welcomed addition. I'd also like the printer to have duplex printing capabilities (the thing that automatically prints double-sided). Since I don't spend my free time looking at printers, I don't know which brands are reputable and which ones I should avoid. If someone could inform me about the reputability of printing brands that are out there, I'd appreciate that. Thanks!

I have been trying to connect my desktop to my printer and it hasn't been able to find it. This happened with our old printer too. I have been able to connect to it with my 2009 Macbook, just not my PC and i would like to be able to print something straight from my PC instead of having to email it to my laptop. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I'm helping a photographer/videographer with her printer needs. She needs a wide format, color printer to print high quality photos. A scanner function would also be nice. Any recommendations? I understand inkjet printers print higher quality photos than laser. Any thoughts on a specific model, maybe off of Amazon? Right around the $300 mark would be nice. Thanks

So, I truly hate printers. I've used all levels from enterprise grade to consumer grade and they always have been shit. For whatever reason, no company wants to make a solid and reliable printer. But that's the topic for another discussion..... Right now, I want to know why it is that documents seem to fail to print and get stuck in a print queue and why usually when that happens you can't simply delete the stuck document from the queue without restarting the printer service.

When I downloaded the basic drivers off of the HP website, the printer always shows up as a unspecified device after the download. It always has a little clock by the unspecified device, just wondering why this does and why it takes so long (sometimes takes 10+ or a restart). Very frustrating when I'm remoted in with a user.

I need to come up with a project for my forensics class, so I was thinking about trying to hack my networked printer to see what kind of information I can get off of it and what kind of exploits I can use to get passwords/user activity/print logs/network activity/etc... I would also like to try and get the data off of RAM (via the network). I'm honestly not really sure where to look for insight, but so far, I've done an smpwalk to gain basic information (ink levels, printer name/network config, dhcp server, etc...), and I've also tried telnet to print text as well as modify the display on the printer (although I haven't had any success with the latter). For reference, I have an HP Officejet 8100 N811a

Have $300 to spend and have been looking at getting a 3D printer. I was looking at the Monoprice Select Mini and it was around $200, which is fantastic. It currently has 4/5 stars with 300 reviews but is unavailable. So cna you think of any printer that is around my price range that might be better? Link of the Monoprice: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Select-Printer-Heated-Filament/dp/B01FL49VZE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=mikeandlauren-20&linkId=5af3dd977d40964a4878c93815b1574c *Note: I don't feel to comfortable in having to build one as it might cause overall worse performance due to my installation.* Thanks!

A couple was found dead on Monday afternoon by authorities in their home. The couple were both MIT graduates and they had two cats. The building was evacuated and the Fire Department's hazardous team was bought in to check out if there was anything wrong with the building. They couldn't find anything wrong with it. Then a few days later results came in and the couple showed signs of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Both the couple and their cats were killed by their 3D printer when it, vented carbon monoxide into their home. Not too sure how much toxic fumes a 3d printer releases. On the other hand, it's said that toner emitted from laser printer is like second hand smoke, so a 3D one is probably much worse? As for the couple and their pet, rip. http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2017/01/27/source-carbon-monoxide-poisoning-killed-berkeley-couple/ update

I'm currently switching from a 1.75mm direct drive setup to a 3mm Bowden setup for my 3D printer. I have a 3mm e3d v6 bowden extruder and I have changed my slicer settings for filament size and got the new extruder mointed. What calibration do I need to do besides what I already mentioned and retraction distance?

I have my iPhone connected to my Windows 10 PC through USB to tether. I shared this connection to my laptop through one of my Ethernet ports. I have a wireless printer and I can't easily connect it through USB because it's too far away(have long Ethernet cable). My PC has another Ethernet port and I have a USB WiFi adapter installed. How can I connect my printer to my PC either using the other Ethernet port or the USB WiFi adapter(prefer)? I tried going to network settings and turning on mobile hotspot but it won't work while I share my iPhone connection. I have to turn off sharing and then it makes a hotspot but I would like to share the connection to the laptop using the Ethernet port and make a hotspot to connect the printer. The laptop has a WiFi/Bluetooth card but it's running Ubuntu and it's not a solid connection and causes Bluetooth interference with the Linux drivers, else I would turn mobile hotspot on and connect both my printer and laptop wirelessly. I have a router but I can't tether my iPhone connection to it as far as I can tell and having it connected while I tether my iPhone to the PC didn't let me connect online. What I've tried and had before: Cable Internet>modem>(Ethernet)router: _(Ethernet)PC _Laptop wireless* _(Ethernet)Printer *Had windows 10 installed. Got rid of Cable Internet iPhone*>modem>(Ethernet)router: _(Ethernet)PC wired _Laptop wireless** _(Ethernet)Printer wired *Couldn't figure out how to do and my router doesn't have dd wrt support. **Installed Ubuntu iPhone>(USB)PC: _(Ethernet)Laptop* _Printer** *Connected turning on sharing under adapter settings **Where I'm at right now. I tried turning on mobile hotspot from Network and Internet settings but it didn't work. Maybe I could have left my original set up alone and turned my router into a switch? but I would have to run a long Ethernet cable to the laptop.

Or, rather... scanners. So I am using a HP Envy 4500 all-in-one; scanning, copying, printing, you name it. Recently, I've started having issues with the scanner. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed, and yet I am unable to scan anything to my computer. I'm using Windows 10, and in case I had missed something, I installed the drivers, restarted both the computer and printer and tried again: No dice. I keep receiving an error: And before you ask: yes, I double and triple checked all of those things, and I'm still having difficulty. What I'd initially assume is that there is some sort of fault in communication between the computer and the printer, and yet: I'm still able to print things. I can print things from Word or Chrome just fine, but when I try to open up HP scanner, I get the error from above. I really need your help on this one, techtips. I'm scanning things for my grandfather so he can have his pictures stored securely.

I have an older Canon printer that sits downstairs in the front room, and my person PC is up on the complete other side of the house upstairs. Is there any device that I can plug into my PC, and into the printer cable to be able to print wirelessly? I don't think connection would be much of an issue since the stairwell is open and between the two points

Just one question to ask, I have a desktop connected to a wireless router via ethernet cable. I also have an all in one printer (Canon MP568) which has built in WiFi. Can I scan documents on the printer wirelessly from the desktop. The desktop does not have wireless though.

I have a monoprice maker select v2. I have to manually level it. I cannot seem to print anything that requires the full bed. If it does require most of the bed or atleast stretches across most of the bed, it will not lay down the first layer well. Usually only a couple parts of it will stick. I try to level each corner in a star pattern. PLA 200c extruder (small prints work well at this temperature) 60c bed 30mm/s 0.2 mm I have it print 3 skirts first and the skirt fails. Any fix?

Hey all! Like the title said, I'm looking for a printer with those cartridge which can be filled with bottles. Includes a scanner. And has WiFi functionality. For printing quality, I'd say good enough for photos? Doesn't have to be the cheapest, but something of reasonable price and will be reliable for years to come. Any models that pops into mind? Thank you!

Hi everyone I've been thinking about getting a 3D printer but I have no idea what to get. I have a budget of around 1000Euro. One thing I'm looking for is value, if it need be I can increase the budget. In addition to that is fillament printer specific or universal? If it is printer specific can you look out for a printer with reasonable fillament prices? The machine should be able to work with PLA and ABS, any more materials would be great Shoot any questions my way! Thank you very much in advance Tugas

So, when I try to install this printer there seems to be a problem where the Installer can't seem to be able to talk with my printer, and if I try to resume later the installer doesn't even seem to recognize the printer, even tough the USB cable is connected. The Printer worked before I reinstalled the system, and it does seem to work with other computer so what seems to be issue? Both computers have Windows 10 installed.

I've been having an ongoing discussion with a friend of mine for some time about whether or not printers are common in an office/gaming/workspace setup. I personally only have ever met one person with a printer on their desk ready to go whenever, and think it's very outdated these days. They, on the other hand, think a surprising amount of people still have printers set up and ready to go on their desk or in the same room. Help me settle this?

I'm considering purchasing an Epson Artisan 1430, and a CISS system for it. It'll be used for printing personal photos, artwork, etc as well as some occasional prints for friends/family, and maybe some business use in the future. From my research so far I've gathered that it's a excellent photo printer, but I've read that it is garbage at printing anything on plain paper. Now of course I'm not expecting to print photos on plain paper, but I would be using it to print documents, and some occasional maps on plain paper. Does anyone have any experience with this printer and know how such prints will come out? Would it look as good or better as your run of the mill cheap-o inkjet? I'm also concerned about the CIS system since I've never used one before. It's hard to pass up the 90%+ savings on ink, but how will this effect the quality of the prints? Are there any drawbacks? Thank you! Edit: As a side note, I've not finalized my decision so if anyone has a good suggestion for a wide-format photo printer that can also be multi-purpose (a scanner would be a nice plus) I'm all-ears er... eyes I guess. Please let me know why if you suggest one.
