I Just Want To Clean The Cooler And Done Cleaning it And Try To Reinstalled,Unfortunately The Pin Just Snap Anyone Have A Suggest Fixing It Without Buy New One?

So I know how annoying push pins are and sadly all my builds so far have featured them which is actually quite sad and annoying but I've dealt with it so far. I'm doing a used old build desktop for a family member with a few left over parts and cheap stuff on eBay. However, the stock cooler I have when trying to put it on a 1155 motherboard is actually getting difficult. Yes I know the various methods and 3/4 pins do go in as intended with not too much force needed. Now.. the last pin.. yeah.. it's like it doesn't want to go in.. but when I hold the cooler in my hand and put pressure on the plastic at the bottom and push it works fine. What's up with that? I thought the black pin wouldn't go through but it turns out the plastic isn't making contact with the motherboard. I assume something may be bending as i install it or something plastic has bent but it works fine when just using my own hands. Somewhat perfect like the rest. It's extremely stiff but every time I mount it on the motherboard it simply won't behave. I've tried to push the plastic down onto the motherboard and then push the pins but it's impossible. Should I give up and try another cooler as I'm worried I've possibly broken one of the push pins. I also sadly don't have the money currently just to order some cheap screw in or push pin aftermarket cooler . Yeah I'm that broke ?. VID_20181010_202334182.mp4

hey so I'm not too knowledgable about fixing bad gpus but about a year or so ago I bought an msi armor rtx 2070 (original not super) and it worked fine for a while but then I started running into problems like specific games wouldn't launch with that card install and the games that would launch had horrible artifacting and horrible framerates. The last time I had it in my pc it just straight up wouldn't give a picture. I took it out and started inspecting it and noticed one of the pci pins seem to be broken, its half the length of the rest. anyone know what and how I should go about fixing this or anywhere that could fix it for a decent price? I also did try to claim my warrenty through msi and I couldn't due to their warrenty claim page being buggy and broken. Also when this all started I believe it was past the time I could return it on newegg

So yesterday I was putting together my first pc. I was very scared of putting in my CPU because I don't want to break the pins (BTW its a R5 3600) When I put it in I closed the latch thing and I heard a little crunch. I freaked out and immediately took out the CPU. I looked at the pins and nothing looked broken. I put the CPU back in the motherboard and it fit fine with no problems. Someone please reassure me that I did not break anything. Thanks

So i have a 1070ti sli which uses two 8 pin pcie power to power up the gpu. I've been using 2 cables 8+8pin to power 1 gpu. Can i use a 1 cable 8+8pin to power 1 gpu?

Alright, well, I was reapplying thermal paste aaaaaaaaaaaaand.... Well, I took out the cooler and it was stuck to the CPU, I realized this too late and thus ripped my Ryzen 9 out of the socket and bent some pins. Upon trying to gently bend them back, some broke off, and some more got bent. Anyway it doesn't work at the moment. However, I was curious if anyone knows some place that I could ship it to and have them fix it? -- or, if it's even valuable anymore so I could at least cut my losses a little? Any advice? Thanks. Much appreciated. Edit: I also tried calling alllllllllllllllll my local computer places and they couldn't help at all. Even the not-so-close ones.

I have multiple graphics, got all them online and working, I'm struggling to find the covers that go on the mother board connectors. Anyone can give me any ideas where I can get them.

Recently i decided to change my CPU's thermal paste. When i removed my CPU from the socket, one way or the other a part of my clothes got stuck in the pins of the CPU socket and man are those pins sharp. Anyways i managed to get all the strands off (i think) and looked for bent pins immediately. To my surprise, there were NONE. I finished applying TP and booted the system. What happened then was that the 8gb ram now appeared as only 2 in bios/windows/taskmanager and the only ram stick recognized by the bios was the stick in the last slot. What is troubling me the most is that CPUID shows all 8gigs of ram which, in theory, rules out any issue with the ram or the ram slots themselves. The computer works flawlessly tho. Hello, I think I bent the soldered pins of one of the ram slots (back of mobo) while trying to install the cooler. I pressed the cooler too hard which might have been the cause of the problem. I'll upload the picture of the situation described above so it's easier to visualize what I'm talking about. Should I try to bend back the solder? Will it cause problems? Thanks.

I'm currently building my first pc, after switching from console. I bought a "EVGA Gtx 760" Gpu and now I need to power it. I had a psu before but I realized it requires more power so I bought a " https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014W3EMAO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 " Because it was better than the one recommended for a few more dollars. The problem is that i'm still not sure the new psu will have the necessary cables to even connect to my video card. So to sum it up, I need information on what you would call the cable needed for the gpu. If possible also if my psu comes with the necessary cables, and if it doesn't what adapter I would need to buy.. Thanks (:

Hello,so i have bought the corsair rxm 650 and i have the asrock x470 master sli paired with a ryzen 5 2600x.This mobo has 8+4 pins for cpu power but my highly paid psu has only 8.So,are the 4 extra pins essential and can this psu run in the future the upcoming am4 cpus with just 8pins?Also,generaly speaking,on all mobos,what is the standart of the essential pins for cpu power(8,4,12??)and can i oc with this psu?Thank you very much for your valuable answers!! -
There is a pin ( the yellow one) where the little dot is broken or bend al the way down. Can someone tell me if this is a problem ? My pc didnt boot into windows soo I bend some pins back that's the only one not 100% aligned . The pin is just above the middle on the left

I work on a computer shop for almost 6 years, a custumer bought this motherboard B360-G rog strix and a cpu i5 8400 yesterday and today came to the shop telling me the computer won't post anything. I see on the socket bent pins, its the custumer,s fault? I offer the assembly the day the customer buy the parts he assembly in home The board never came from the factory like this whit bent pins! Hello there! I have an Inter-Tech M908 case. https://www.inter-tech.de/en/products/case/gaming-tower/m-908 I also have an Asus Rog Strix B360-F motherboard. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B360-F-GAMING/specifications/ The case comes equipped with its own fan control hardware. I have no idea as to what I'm supposed to do. There are not enough connectors for the pins (The cables doesn't fit the motherboard and only have 2 pins as seen on the photos. What am I supposed to do now? Buy a fan extension card from Asus?

Hey, I bought a new B360-F from Mindfactory and installed it without CPU (because of shipping delivery) I was very careful and this is was NOT the first PC I built, I don't even touched his no-no zone (socket). So two pins are pararel bent, is this normal? If found a picture of a socket that is looking the same on Google with searching for "socket 1151 close up". I removed the socket protection manually for making a clear picture. Thanks for help, and sorry for bad gramma (German)

I heard even if there is a bent pin on the socket of a motherboard the CPU still posts with some bugs. Is it true? If yes, then is there any software to diagnose about it without physically removing the CPU (LGA 1151) CPU: i5 6500 MOBO: Asus Prime B250m-k -
Hey a week ago i broke my gpu while cleaning today i was checking what did go wrong and something caught to my eye my gpus fans got 3 pin output but gpu's board got only 2 pins is it normal?

So recently I moved in a new home and I had my PC shipped to me from my old house today. I am an idiot apparently. I know I should have taken the graphics card with me but I forgot. So because of the weight, the card bent the socket. Can I use the second PCI slot at full speed? I can in fact see that it does NOT have all the pins. Will it work at half speed? Is there any noticeable real world performance loss? Maybe I can still use the first PCI normal even though it's bent? Can I, by any means, fix it myself (it won't move when I push it down)? Motherboard: Asus Z170 A GPU: EVGA 1070 FTW

Hi guys! I recently bought Mini ITX board (z170) which pins were bent on socket. I do have only one CPU which is in my main rig, i7-7700, and I want to check somehow if the board is working after my recovery attempt. Do you know if I can somehow break the CPU, burn it or whatever if I plug it in? Is there any way that it might get bricked? Thanks!

Hey Guys! I 'm following Linus and the rest of the crew from some years now, but never got into the community thing, but hey.. Some day we get smarter and here I am (sorry for when my English isn't perfect, I'm from Belgium and I speak dutch natively) I didn't find anything like this right away, so I hope I can start this thread.. I was wondering after assembling some computers for my own and friends/family and as most people know, cables are a struggle.. Isn't there any other options/ideas from manufacturers or other people to make this simpler/better? I got an idea stuck into my head for while now.. The one thing that (I think) 'sucks' in a beautiful PC build, are those cables, even after some cable modding, they're still very in sight.. What if manufacturers and case designers would make the motherboard connector(s) (mostly the huge power one) on the BACK of the motherboard? Wouldn't that look ALOT better for smooth, beautiful pc builds? What are your thoughts about this one? What about the practical part for the manufacturers / case modders / pc builders? (You can acces everything else on the back..) What are your ideas for a cleaner pc build look? Thanks! I look forward to any feedback and ideas! :-)

Which way do the RGB headers have to go? I'm connecting a coolermaster fan to my motherboard. It looks kinda as if it could go either way. Also, when I push it in, how will I be able to tell it's far enough? Thanks!

Hi there! Yesterday I delided my i7-6700K and replaced the former paste on the dye with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. Being worried for my cpu, I covered the 4 pins on the cpu with liquid electrician tape (so it wouldn't jump the pins) - covered pins are at the end of the arrow on the pic. Does anyone know, what are those 4 pins for? Hence, is it a problem that they are covered?

I have recently picked out my CPU to clean and re apply some thermal paste. When looking at the bottom of my CPU to check that the Thermal paste has not touched the contacts I noticed that they were scratched and the gold plating had come off ( Pics of Scratched CPU Contacts ). After some research I am fairly confident that it is a Pin to a VSS (ground) but I am worried that it may cause galvanization and affect other pc parts such as my mobo or GPU. should I continue to use the CPU or be concerned? -
Hello, recently I was looking at my cpu and I noticed the pins were bent (I have an amd fx-6300 cpu) and managed to fix them all in the right place and direction but then three or four of them fell off. Then I started to get worried because I thought I might have to buy a new cpu but when I put it into my pc it still work and everything was fine. The reason why I’m saying this is because I think there might be something wrong with my cpu I’m not sure. Kind regards Bob
