Before i start let me just say i've been building and using systems for years and have built up quite a knowledge of hardware from LGA 775 to now so i'm not an idiot... But when it comes to audio Ive got no clue mate. So based off my research and limited budget plus whats on drop right now i've settled for getting an MT-602 since it seem so fit what i want in terms of powering a pair of DT990's. I'm not an audiophile so i'm not going for the absolute best or whatever, for context i LOVED the sound of my Razer Kraken Kitty editions till they died so take that how you will. Now my only issue is awkward because it sounds dumb but, how exactly does the MT-602 connect to a PC? it has RCA input which as far as i can tell is the only input but my system being ITX doesn't have a sound card or anything that outputs RCA so am i supposed to use an adapter cable or is there a device that goes between my pc and the MT-602? i've no clue haha. (it'll be connected to a B450i Strix)

Budget (including currency): TBD (USD) Country: U.S.A Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, VR, Red Dead Redemption 2, et cet Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So, I know that getting a pre-built is typically frowned upon, or at least it was when I first purchased mine back in March of 2020. It has performed well beyond my expectations for the better part of 2 years. But, like always, looking to upgrade is just nature at this point. Current specs- (when when purchased) Motherboard - ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 GPU - radeon rx 580 directx 12 4GB GDDR5 (there is an XFX printed on the side, not sure if that matters) CPU - ADM Ryzen 5 2600 6 cores 12 threads 3.4 GHz (3.9 GHz Max Boost) Memory - single stick 8GB DDR4 2400 MHz (can't see the brand without pulling the stick out sadly) Storage - 500gb 2.5 inch SSD PSU - 80 plus 500 Watt from thermaltake smart series Case - Thermaltake Versa N21, White Price of the prebuilt - $679.99 USD from Skytech Gaming (came with Windows 10 Pro instead of standard Windows 10. had no other place to put this part) Upgrades I have since added myself- I bought a second memory stick, identical in brand and model to the first stick so I could run my pc in duel channel memory at 16gb (though I am hopefully gonna be upgrading this at a later date) a 2tb M.2 SSD WD_black SN750 (a very stressful upgrade for me to perform as it took several attempts, which includes me having had to pull out my GPU and ram sticks in order to have enough clearance for my hands) Upgrades I plan to add- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X - replacing the ryzen 5 2600 Silicon Power 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 - replacing the 8x2 2400MHz sticks currently in my pc I am both incredibly new and incredibly weary of messing around with the internals of my PC. Less so for the ram as that is a pretty straightforward upgrade, but the CPU is one i'm terrified of messing with and I want to make sure I get absolutely everything correct beforehand before i make such a heavy investment. I also want to know if such an upgrade would necessitate an upgrade to my PSU, an upgrade I am even more terrified of performing. If i were going for a GPU upgrade, this might've been a bigger necessity, but with the CPU being the primary upgrade planned, I don't know if this is required. I've tried to look into this myself, but I am far from knowledgeable with this type of stuff and I've just ended up confusing myself more and more whenever I've attempted to. sorry for such a long post, I just know that having too many details can be a lot better than having not enough details to give an educated answer. TLDR - is the planned upgrade for my cpu and memory sticks supported with my current motherboard? and is a PSU upgrade going to be required with the cpu upgrade in mind?

Now. I wanna start off with a simple "I don't know a lot about networking". To put it simply. I'll be getting myself 10gbit FTTH soon (next few weeks, waiting for contractor) and I'm wanting to put together a setup that works and can utilize the 10gbit Internet. Yes I mean internet not my LAN. Some info: Location is Switzerland I'll be going with init7 as my ISP with the Fiber7-X plan I'm getting nothing from my ISP, but I do have the option to get hardware if needed from them. Planning to use Fiber instead of Copper-DA I do intend to buy a small-ish server rack to put everything into. Budget is in the neighborhood of 1000$ (or swiss francs, It don't matter too much) I have no interest in WiFi at the moment, but I'd like to add it in the future The OTO (optical termination outlet) will be in the living room and the actual server rack I plan to put in another room entirely to not have any of the heat or noise near me, the run is roughly 30 meters between the OTO and the server rack's location. (without thinking about running it on the walls, so I'd say at-least 50m run if I run it between the two. The ISP recommends this transceiver They also have some info here and here Some questions I need answered that I'm unsure about: Do I still need a modem nowadays? What in terms of router/modem do I need to get it working? (I was thinking of getting a UDM Pro, but am option to options) What cables are required? What transceivers are required? Is there something to know about 10gbit internet that I might not think of? / Did I forget something critical?

first build First Build critique my part list please?
Meowkyuun posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): 2000$USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3D modeling in Blender, Unity, Photoshop, Illustrator, Video editing, Music Writing & Editing, VRChat, & Minecraft Other details So this is my first ever official build. I have changed out parts on previous PCs and done a lot of weird tech work so this shouldn't be too far out of my range. My old acer laptop isn't keeping up with my workflow and it didn't support VR gaming so I've been looking to upgrade. It is very important to me that it can run VRchat and other VR games somewhat comfortably If it can't then I'll probably hold back from upgrading till I have the budget for it So with that in mind here's the PC part picker page https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mPPJyK (I'm hoping that's allowed to be posted here and works fine? If not I can type it out instead)- 12 replies

recently iv upgraded my ram from a Krimsom 12gbs 3200mhz to a krimsom 32gbs 3600mhz but then my computer started to crash. i thought it was weird since it was just the ram's hz going up i did some digging. my motherboard supports up to 4600hz and my CPU goes up to 3.8ghz i manually tunned down the voltage and the timming speed. still crashed, could anyone give me some leads on where to start troubleshooting?

Hello guys, this is my first ever PC build and I wanted to get some advice from somebody. I want to clarify before anything that here in Argentina the options for the parts I want to get are very limited the only parts I could get were affordable and great in performance compared to the other options and at the time seemed like a great idea to get (based on most reviews I checked of said components). Thats also the reason why I am going DDR4 because theres like no DDR5 MBs that are great here and the prices for RAM are 2-3x so I decided to just go DDR4 for now. I just want someone to tell me if the missing parts that I have chosen are great or if you are going to tell me about a different product I would appreciate it if you could name 2 different options since like I said there is not that many options here. Budget (including currency): 3000USD Country: Argentina Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Spiderman, God of War, Elden Ring, CS:GO and maybe streaming in the future. I am still deciding on whether getting a 1080p or a 1440p but I will probably go with 240Hz. List of the parts I currently have: CPU: Intel i7 13700K GPU: RTX 3080 TI ASUS TUF GAMING MB: Z790 MSI TOMAHAWK DDR4 WIFI SSD: WD BLACK SN850X 1TB 7300MB/S List of the parts I plan to get/I am more inclined to get: PSU: Be Quiet! PURE POWER 11 FM 1000W (80+ Gold Certified - FULLY MODULAR) RAM: Kingston Renegade DDR4 16GB 3600Mhz CL16 (I plan to get 2 of these) COOLER: Be Quiet! Silent Loop 2 360mm / Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black 140MM Dual-Fan Case: Lian Li Lancool III-X Black Here is the link with the components if you want to check it out there: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/M9FhXy Thanks in advance and have a great day!

I recently built my first PC. I have a 7950X CPU, a Radeon 6950XT, 2x16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 DDR5 6000MHz RAM, and a X670 AORUS ELITE AX motherboard. I would like to know the full capabilities of my new rig and how it compares with other hardware out there via benchmarking. What are the best benchmarking utilities out there?

I did run to my max budget and was told by a friend I paid more than he thought it was worth even though I waited til black friday to buy it all. I am going from an HP Notebook - 15-r132wm to this so please keep that in mind. That thing was so horribly slow it was nothing, but disappointing.

Budget (including currency): $1000 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games: more rpg/open world type, Assassin’s Creed, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc, some Minecraft, Roblox Work: general Microsoft and Google Suite work. May need lots of tabs open in Chrome Other details: I don’t really have anything. It’s more the idea of I want to build this semi as a hobby…but we also kinda need a computer better than the Chromebook we have. I honestly don’t know where to start. Like what CPU to start with that does what we want…but then that leads to a motherboard that’s compatible. Obviously, I can just go to partpicker and it’ll show compatibility, but again, I’m brand new to this “world” and would love some feedback.

Budget (including currency): arround 1500€(euros) Country: netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: games, not sure what games, rn i want to try timberborn and hydroneer, also play minecraft and want to keep playing Other stuff: Rn im thinking, And also black color theme if possible Rtx 3060 (gpu) (or maybe a gtx 1650 because i dont know if i need a 3060 or how good it fits within budget)(and i wouldnt use raytracing anyway) Ryzen 5 7700 (cpu)(7th gen ryzen because i want to futureproof the pc)(so kinda dont want 5th gen ryzen because of that(just tell me if thats just a stupid idea)) 2x8gb ddr5 (ram)(ddr5 because i kinda want to futureproof the pc) H510 flow (case)( most amazing case eveeer) A 75hz monitor (curved if possible)(1080p is good for now)(maybe want to upgrade to 1440p in a year, or 2)(and also would like to get a second monitor in a year) Motherboard (just needs enough io for 2 monitors, 2 speakers, mouse, keyboard, usb ports for the case) ( also ddr5, AM5 cpu connector) Cpu cooler ( idk how big the cooler needs to be for the cpu)( air cooler) And power supply (i have no idea)(just not a to sketchy one) And i dont know if i would need case fans Do i need anything apart from all those parts (yes, thermal paste. Budget (including currency): 1100$ usd but maybe with the gpu i go over-budget Country: Paraguay but i will buy from USA amazon the ram and the cpu is cheaper Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk, Genshin Impact, video editing and maybe some code compilation but mostly i do it on a 2016 macbook pro I'm buying all the parts to build my first pc on December until now i just have a: Ryzen 5 5600x (160$ from usa) Cooler Master TD500 white mesh (100$ from py) And i will pair with: Kingston NV2 1TB M.2 (70$) Motherboard some gamer B550 no idea which yet (160$) (I think is better atx but the B550M are cheaper..) Power Supply a 750w bronce with good internet reviews it just depends for which ones i find available (110$ aprox) but i did find a used 850w gold for 70$ (I will upload the picture) which compare to others it is really cheap even on the used ones and in know power supply you don’t cheap out but it have 10 years of guarantee of course no to me if i buy used but i suppose will work great if they can "guarantee" 10 years and a 850w i would like to future proofing Used RTX 3060 ti the used ones are visually all in great condition and really good prices like the MSRP of usa but the new ones kind expensive so i think will go used and will look for the difference in price with 3070 if it is just a couple $ more even if it is more out of budget if it worth it i think ( $ => $450) But the ram I "want" a Corsair Vengeance RGB pro white 32gb ($113, the regular one is just 13$ less so is not worth it i think) to be honest i just love the design and that it is white but as you can see i'm kinda over budget so there is another option the Teamgroup Vulcan 32gb they look the same in specs but it is just 72$ all time low in price and both i will spend 20$ more for the import tax and shipping but are they equally in performance ? and i saw people ask if the Vulcan is compatible with they motherboards and there is a list https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/support/view_product.php?status=tg&select1=PC&select2=Gaming Memory&select3=vulcan-tuf-ddr4&select4=16GBx2&select5=3200&select6=16-18-18-38 (wrong timing but just that one it shows) should i worry about incompatibly? because i think the corsair any motherboard will work fine i guess.. as i said i will buy a good motherboard for gaming with a reasonable good price of course but it will not be the entry level but i honestly don’t know much about it either. So yeah the ram should be after the motherboard but because i will ship from usa and i want to be for december i should order this week first and the others products i can buy in a couple of days on December no much problem (a long you have the money is fast xd) And my monitor is a ultrawide LG 29wn600-w" 2560 x 1080 of resolution so it is easier to run than 1440p it will be at least a couple of years before I buy a 4k tv or monitor if this affect some of your tips. So yeah my question is about the ram but if you have any tips or advice it will be much appreciated!

Budget (including currency): 80,000 BDT ($800) can go a little above if its worth it Country: Bangladesh Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: My current pc is potato, can't really play anything so it's hard to say what games I'll be playing most of the time, If I had to guess; Rocket league, CSGO, GTA5, Team Fortress 2. Single-player games like witcher 3, batman arkham knight, Spider-man (2020) etc. I want it to be able to record game-play without dropping too much fps. I wanna learn video editing, nothing too crazy, I want Photoshop, After effects, premiere pro or DaVinci Resolve to not shit themselves if i try to make those weeb-ass frag videos. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm going to buy it hopefully this month (Nov). My plan is to build a pc now and then upgrade later, a pc that'll me able to handle something like rtx 3050/3060 or something that costs around their msrp The List I've created: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G Processor with Radeon Graphics CPU Cooler: AMD Ryzen Boxed Cooling Fan Original Mother Board: Gigabyte B550M DS3H AM4 AMD Micro ATX Motherboard RAM: 1 x G.Skill RIPJAWS-V 8GB DDR4 3200MHz Desktop RAM Storage: Gigabyte 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD Power Supply: Thermaltake SMART BM2 650W Semi Modular 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply Casing: Phanteks Eclipse P400 Air Mid Tower Casing Monitor: MSI Optix G241V E2 24" FHD FreeSync IPS Esports Gaming Monitor/Gigabyte G24F 23.8" 170Hz Full HD IPS Gaming Monitor UPS: MaxGreen MG-SILVER-1200VA 1200VA Offline UPS The reason why I've picked what I've picked: CPU: Since I'm not getting a GPU now, i need something with an iGPU, original plan was to get Core i5-12400 but it costs 24,000 BDT ($240) here (Bangladesh) And I'm not comfortable with that price, so next I decided to get i5-11400 that costs 20,000 but after watching it being compared with Ryzen 5 5600 I looked into Ryzen 5 5600g. I watched some Benchmarks and from what I've gathered It looses very small amount of FPS against i5-11400 and even beats it in Photoshop, After effects, premiere pro etc, and it costs less than i5-11400. So I picked Ryzen 5 5600g for 18,000 BDT ($180). CPU Cooler: Don't know if the retailers gonna provide a cooler so just in-case, I picked one. Mother Board: Right now I'm looking for only 3 things in a mobo, it supports Ryzen 5 5600g and rtx3050/rtx3060 and has two M.2 slots so I can upgrade and If i didn't get something wrong the one i picked should have that. This is my first custom build so idk what else to look for in a mobo. RAM: I will get more ram later, for now 8gb seems alright to me. Storage: The mobo should have 1 x M.2 connector (M2B_SB) and 1 x M.2 connector (M2A_CPU) I'm gonna connect the ssd i picked in M2B_SB and buy a stronger ssd later and have it in M2A_CPU. Power Supply: Don't know what to look for in a PSU, all I know is I need 550w+ for rtx 3060 Casing: Again, don't know what to look for so i picked this after i saw linus recommend it in a video. Monitor: I have a 1080p monitor and I'm very satisfied with it. But I'm not sure if 144hz/170Hz is worth it for me. There arent any 120hz monitor available here. MSI Optix G241V E2 24" FHD FreeSync IPS Esports Gaming Monitor 18,000 BDT ($180) Gigabyte G24F 23.8" 170Hz Full HD IPS Gaming Monitor 25,000 ($250, cheapest IPS I could find) To me, spending 7,000 more just so I can win more multiplayer games isn't worth it. I'll be glad if u could point out other upsides that could make it worth it. UPS: I'll need u nerds to tell me if 1200VA is enough. Blackouts are very frequent here, I just need 5 min to shutdown my pc properly. I've lost 2 mobos to thunder so I'm hoping this will provide some sort of protection for that as well.

Budget (including currency): $1,200 USD Country: Colombia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, Various low intensity squad games (nothing AAA) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Looking to build a mini ITX machine, mostly due to size constraints. The case is a stylistic choice so it most likely won't be changed. Existing part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4k6bZw The list was put together in about 15 min without too much thought, but that's the general line of specs I'm looking for. The brands and models can be swapped around for better pricing/performance if need be, will listen to whatever changes you make. Missing fans, they can be any model you might recommend. Looking to purchase parts in about a month from now or less, don't worry about peripherals. Refresh rate and resolution about 144Hz - 165Hz, 1080p. Thanks in advance for all and any help.

Budget (including currency): around 100000 NRs (Nepalese currency) Country: Nepal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: computer engineering, music production(though i am just starting out, and i only make minimalistic beats right now) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i am going to buy in about 9-10 months, i am upgrading from a Intel i3-4005U (4) @ 1.700GHz as CPU and Intel Haswell-ULT as GPU and 8 gigs of ram, i changed from a 4gig ram to a 8 gig one recently, i have 1tb HDD and 120gb SSD. What should i change from a practical view and also from an economical view, so that it works great within my budget. Though, i have to say, i can probably get by with less RAM and storage for about a year and then upgrade to better ones. Also, i use linux and intend to continuing using, if that plays any role in pc-building. I am somewhat good with tech, but i donot know anything, not even the most common knowledge when it comes to pc-buiilding, so forgive me if i ask stupid questions or picked stupid components.

Budget (including currency): Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, AutoCAD work Other details: My planned parts list included: aorus ultra Z490i, i5-11600k, MSI Ventus rtx 3060 12gb, and 16gb corsair vengeance pro rgb 3600mhz / cl18. This is my first time posting here, and I was looking for some help. For context, I have been buying parts one at a time whenever i found good prices. I just got the motherboard and I'm planning on getting the ram and cpu within the next week or so. After reading my motherboards manual, it seems like the motherboard with the i5 cpu i was going to get only supports a max of 2666 mhz, and the cpu supports a max of 3200 mhz. So, If i was to go with the planed 3600 mhz kit, would i be able to use xmp and get the full 3600 mhz or would i be limited to the max speeds of the cpu / motherboard? Any other hardware suggestions or recommendations are welcome as well. Ive attached a screenshot form the manual, and some of the cpu specs that might be helpful.

Budget (including currency): roughly $800.00 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Regular zoom meetings, gaming, small productivity Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have a 600 watt Thermaltake 80+ Gold Power Supply. Also already have 4x8 G 3200 MHz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RAM. Used these to upgrade my current SFF refurbished office PC (HP Elitedesk 800 G2 with an i5 6500) Thinking of buying towel my build Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow Motherboard: Prime B660 Plus D4 CPU: i5 12600k RAM: 4x8 G 3200 DDR4 CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (dual fan/ tower 6 heat pipes, comes with LGA 1700 socket I believe) Power Supply: 600 watt Thermaltake 80+ Gold Extra Cooling: full allotment of 6x120 mm Case fans Storage: 256 Gig SSD with Windows 10 Pro plus 5 Tb external HDD Game drive GPU: (currently have but going to sell- RX 6400 Form factor version) thinking of upgrading to RX 580 (older but cheaper with decent reviews and performance from what I can tell) or RX 6600 or 6650 xt if worth it. Open to other options. I run a dual monitor setup both 1080p For gaming I like a lot of RPG, MMO games (RuneScape, SWTOR, Star Trek Online) as well as RTS like the Total War Series (Napoleon, Empire, Shogun 2, Rome and Warhammer), Ultimate General, and Turn-Based strategy/ Base Building Games. Also enjoy games like Battlefront, Battlefield, State of Decay. Haven’t bought anything yet but been looking, researching and shopping, but I’d like to save more money if I can while also maybe potentially moving it to where it’ll be worth it. looking for feedback on what’s good, what to improve, for my first time plus any tips. 1. Budget & Location My budget is around 2,000 $US but I am willing to spend a little more than that for better performance and I live in Puerto Rico. 2. Aim I plan to use it mostly for gaming. More specifically games like Warframe, Ark and some shooters. It should also be able to run Photoshop or sketchbook smoothly. 3. Monitors As far as monitors I was thinking id go for some sort of ultra wide display. I don't really know much at all about pc's, but is it possible to get a machine capable of running most games at 1440p 100+ fps for this price range? 4. Peripherals I need a keyboard, mouse, monitor and headset but I am completely lost on what to get. 5. Why are you upgrading? I figured it was time I switch from console and I need a better computer to work on my designs because my yogabook lags quite a bit any time i get above like 5 layers on sketchbook. thanks in advance

Hi everyone, So, I'm preparing myself to build my first computer. I'm excited and lost at the same time. I'd love to have some help concerning the fans in the case. In the kind of motherboards i wanna buy (b450, still don't have an exact model, but I'm gonna go a little el cheapo on this build...) there's mostly 1 fan header, and 1 rgb header. I wanna have some great airflow so I thought 3 intake fans in the front and 1 exhaust in the back would be great, but idk exactly how to connect all of them. For the RGB, the case I wanna buy (Masterbox TD500) comes with a RGB splitter, so no worries about that. But for the fans, there's still only 1 header. So how do I connect them all 4 in the mobo, and also without losing the automatic speed control?

I really like the itx size for cases but open to suggestions 1. Budget-$850 in the United States willing to go over a little but shooting for around 800 2. Aim- Mostly gaming and minor work on spreadsheets but emphasis on 1080p gaming i enjoy some modern titles and currently my 2013 alienware laptop is struggling to keep up. 3. Solus OS Intallation: PCIe Errors?
Rilvin2 posted a topic in Linux, macOS and Everything Not-Windows
I've spent the past few days trying out various different Linux distros. I've been installing them alongside Windows 10 on my ASUS Zenbook Pro (UX550VE). Recently, I uninstalled Kali so that I could install the Solus OS. I deleted the partition Kali was on, this caused an issue with GRUB going into rescue mode on startup. I fixed this (I think) by removing the boot option from the BIOS. Now trying to install Solus, I run into a PICe BUS error when I try to boot from the USB drive that has the Solus installer on it. 1.871984] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: [12] Timeout 1.872523] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Reciever ID) 1.873899] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: device [8086:a110] error status/mask=00000001/00002000 1.874587] piceport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: [ 0] RxErr 1.875603] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: [ 0] Rollover 1.879305] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: [12] Timeout 1.880075] pcieport 0000:00:1c.0: AER: PCIe Bus Error: severity=corrected type=Data Link Layer, There were a lot more errors displayed beneath this as well, almost identical but for a "Transmitter ID". Luckily, Windows is behaving completely fine. Hey guys, I’m looking to transitioning from console gaming to PC gaming. I have a flexible budget but I’d like to stay around the $800 mark. (If it’s a bit over it’s fine) I’m somewhat educated on what makes a good PC but I’m not too confident on what parts actually fit together/work/supported. I would like most of my budget spent on the PC it’s self, but I also have to make room for the Display and accessories like keyboard and mouse. (I don’t really care about the keyboard, it shouldn’t affect my performance..... right?) I think RGB looks really cool but I’d love a more minimalistic computer as it’s my normal aesthetic and also I guess it would be cheaper and I could focus more of my budget on the performance rather than the RGB. thanks in advance on helping me join the PC gaming community! ps. I don’t have a lot of room so a full sized tower wouldn’t be ideal but if the performance and pricing is right I’m ok with it!
