Hello, I bought a new PC, but I had a 1070 on my old PC so I decided to reuse it. The problem is that now my old PC doesn't post and the vga led is on. My motherboard is a Asus b250-f strix. What does it mean? And what do I have to do?

Hello. I recently posted on here about my computer not booting after I attempted to upgrade it with a new motherboard and processor. I had a gaming computer I really enjoyerd but decided after not getting the performance I wanted to upgrade it. I got an MSI Z370- A- PRO and an i5 9600k, install it throw everything together, plug it in, and press the power button. Nothing. No fans no LED's nothing. So, i follow the guide at the top of this form about not booting. Still nothing. Decide that it is probably a mother board issue so I drive down to fries electronics, buy a new motherboard, (The gigabyte pro gaming SLI Z390) and more ram. I go home, plug everything in, and LED's on the back of the motherboard turn on so i figure it will work, press the button and once again no boot. I figure at this juncture that it must be the CPU, the next day, i drive to memory express in Canada and buy an i5 8600k after watching a youtube video saying the 9600k was far worse than the 8600k, drive home and plug it in, still no boot. This is when I turned here for help. if anybody could help me or tell me what im doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated. Below will be links to PC part picker showing my exact specs and an imgur link linking to images of my motherboard. Thanks! ? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fHjG6s https://imgur.com/a/3CNocBc

I'm trying to get my 2 asus 1080 ti turbos to work on my mobo. I'm rocking a asus maximus x formula. My processor is a intel 8700k. Now if asked around for help but havant got far. I'm having trouble getting my mobo to boot up with both gpus installed. When I try to boot up with both. I get a post code of 30. Aka system walking up from s3. Something like that. I get no display to my monitor. Can't get to bios nor boot to windows. Iv tested both cards on other mobos one at a time. Work. So cards arnt bad. My power supply is a evga 1600 supernova. Plenty of power. My mobo calls for 2 gpus on lane 1 and 2.But I get the problem mentioned on these. Lane 3 being the pcie x4. Lane 1 x16. Lane 2 x8. Now if I use lane 1 and 3. It will boot. But the second gpu is useless due to it being in x4 slot. I can't even boot one card on second lane. Am I doing something wrong. Iv tried this on multiple maximus x boards. Yet second slot always seem to be the problem. I find it hard to believe all my boards have dead pcie 2 slots.

Iv recently got my hands on a second 1080ti. Hipeing to run SLI. Both cards are same. Tested and both work. My problem comes when. I try to boot my system with both installed. I first installed them into my asus maximus x hero. When I go to boot up. I get no display and a post code of 30. Now the screen will recognize but it's always black and then screen goes to sleep. Ow on my mobo i know the 1st pcie slot is x16. 2nd is x8. And 3rd x4. If i plug my second card into the 2nd slot. The problem accurs. Now if i plug into the 3rd i can boot but not enable SLI do to mobo set up. I also found even one card in 2nd slot and other slots free. No boot post code 30. Had me thinking my mobo was bad. I got a new mobo yesterday. Asus maximus x formula. And all the problems I had with 1st board are same on this one. Am I doing something wrong. Both cards tested and work alone and together in none sli slots. My psu is evga 1600 supernova. I have 32 GB ram. And run a 8700k. Any help will be appreciated.

Came home today and booted up my semi-beefy pc. Only One of the two monitors was on and the only one on only showed a number like “98” at the bottom right. i looked up solutions. I tried moving and cleaning my two sticks of 4gb ram and nothing changed. Also my motherboard beeped. So that means it isn’t my motherboard that’s the problem. if anyone knows how to help, any and all help is greatly appreciated. EDIT: took out the gpu and put it back in, tried hdmi to the second monitor. “No signal.” Beeping continued. specs: CPU: AMD Vishera FX-8320 Vishera Octa-core GPU: MSI Nvidia gtx 1060 6gb ram: G.Skill 4gb red ram G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) (240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-231-426) Power supply: EVGA 700B (bronze) motherboard: MSI 970 gaming wireless adapter : some 70-90$ asus red PCIe one

With everything connected the mobo leds flash the CPU, DRAM, VGA, boot lights. As you can see in the video, my pc is running but then the lights of the fans stop working. Specs: Asus PBZ77-V Lk motherboard Evga geforce-gtx 770 Intel i7 3770k Samsung 1tb ssd Western digital 1tb hdd Cooler master 700w power supply 8GB Hyper X ddr3 ram Thermaltake Water 3.0 windows 10 My PC was crashing constantly, it started a few months ago and only had gotten worse. For the 4 years I owned the PC it was running the stock Intel cooler and recently I noticed it running really hot at over 100 degrees Celsius when it was crashing. So yesterday I went out and bought a Thermaltake Water 3.0 after market cooler. After Installing it myself the temperatures dropped from 70 at idle to 30 and only reaching 50 in games. It was running great and I was sure I fixed the problem. Sadly, this was not the case, a few hours later the computer crashed again, and this time for good. I tested the power supply (unplugged everything and then bridged the green and black wires) as well the ram (tested with one at a time) and they both work fine. My guess is that the excessive heat fried the motherboard or cpu. How can I test which one needs replacing?

Hello, I don't know if someone has posted this before or not but this is really important so please help if you can. I updated from windows 7 about 3 days back. Everything was fine, working perfectly for 2 days and then suddenly yesterday, when I switch on my computer one of my monitors is working fine but the other monitor is being detected as a 'Generic Non PnP Monitor' instead of recognising it properly (Benq XL2420T) and it's not even working at it's maximum resolution (it's a 1080p monitor working at 1024x768 with no option to increase it). And then I restart it thinking it might just be a glitch, but it decides not to switch on after that. The computer boots, it goes till the loading screen, but right after that the LEDs from both my mouse and keyboard switch off and the monitor switches off with the message 'No Signal Detected'. I tried booting into safe mode but that only works without my mouse for some reason, so I open Device Manager to see if it's some driver issue, but it's not. Then I used the 'Reset Windows' option from the boot menu thingy, its did everything and reinstalled windows but I am still not able to boot into Windows. I know it reinstalled windows properly because when I tried to boot into safe mode again it gave me the entire 'Hi' 'Your files are where you left them' and all of that first boot welcome screen stuff. There were some important documents I had been working on which I managed to recover but I would want to start using my computer again, what should I do? I have an assignment due so I am kind of in a hurry. Is this a hardware problem with my GPU or my monitor? Or is it a Windows problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Specs: i7 930 Sabertooth x58 EVGA 560Ti Corsair Force GT SSD Corsair RM750 Benq XL2420T Dell IN1910Nb

Hey ppl I have a problem with my new server build. I was inspired by the "cheap gaming pc" video Linus did and I always wanted a server. So this is the hardware: Supermicro X7DBP-8 (and one X7DBP-i) 2 of Intel L5420 CPU (2,5ghz) 4 sticks of HYMP151F72CP4N3-Y5 AB-C (4gb sticks) 1 of SuperMicro/Ablecom PWS-702A-1R 700 1 of Supermicro CSE-PT816-PDS20 Power Distributor Now to the problem. When I insert the power and presses on the powerbutton the cpufans start spinning for a split second (the fans are plugged in via molex directly to the powersupply backpane thingy) Then nothing. Nothing happens when I presses the powerbutton. I can se that the MB has power cause there is a button with a light in it on the back of MB. I can repeat this if I disconnect the powercord and connect it back again, same thing happens. Fans spin for a split second, then nothing. What I have done: Tested with one cpu and one RAM (all the different combinations) Checked the 20pin connector with voltage tools and saw that when the powerbutton is pressed first time (when the fans spin) we get a reading, right amount of current passing through. Then there is no current on any of the cables in the 20pin. What do you think is the problem? Have I missed something? I have a hunch that the powerdistributor is broken and I have ordered a new one. Both MB acts the same. Plz, I need suggestions Best Regards //Bad spelling swede

I recently transferred cases along with a EVGA 650w psu and my PC booted up smoothly after I finished. The problem I am having now is when my PC is off for about 12 hours or so, only my heatsink/fan will start (Hyper evo 212)!?!? Not even my case fans will turn on and same with the LEDs. I have to turn off my psu and turn it back on for my PC to then boot properly. I dont know what the problem is and I'm hoping you can help me. On the other, my PC runs smoothly after its on. No complications. Spec: i5 quad core GTX 660 Z97-C ASUS motherboard 8 GB ram Thank you!!

Hi there, yesterday while playing an indie game my screen suddenly froze and I ended up having to crash my computer. I am using a GTX 590 and all drivers are up to date. Unfortunately I cannot get past the windows logo without the video output cutting out. I spent about 3-4 hours troubleshooting. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Nvidia drivers and followed every forum I could find on the topic to no avail. So currently my situation is as follows. -I Can boot in safe mode with the Video cable plugged into the GPU. -I Can boot normally plugged into the on-board graphics (Intel 4600 HD graphics) only while the graphics card is unplugged as the default video output i set to PCI in Bios. I have tried swapping PCI-e slots. I do not have another computer to test the card in. If anyone can shed any light on the situation that would be great. I hope the card is not dead and it is just a weird driver issue but it is a 4 year old card. Thanks

I have had my computer for a long time and out of nowhere recently my computer has been randomly shutting off and then won't boot until I clear all the power out of the motherboard and try to boot again. When it does crash my computer turns itself on and off about 10 times before it stops. This morning I first turned my computer on and got a black screen of death then I checked my sata cables but they were all fine. Then I tired to boot again and got into windows and about 5 seconds of being on my desktop my computer blue screens and I try again with the same result, After that when i tried to boot I just got cycling power with the boot only getting to 55-89% or getting a CF error on the motherboard. I don't know if my motherboard or my GPU is failing, if you guys have any suggestion it would be much appreciated. Hello Internets, So I received a gift from my school today; four old compaq ex-student PCs, one monitor, a spare HDD, a bunch of spare RAM, and a tonne of spare mice, keyboards and power cables. However, upon startup each PC (having completed start up checks) shows me a screen saying "PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT" Any ideas? I was told that despite their age that they had Windows7, although now I am really not so sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated tharrison14
