Hello, I recently purchased an XFX RS rx480 4gb. I installed the drivers and then loaded up bf1. After about 2 minutes severe flickering occured, often many times a minute. As soon as I closed bf1 the flickering stopped. I though mabye something was wrong with my bf1 download and so I tried to play csgo, but then it happened again. I contacted support, but they aren't helping at all. Please respond if you know how to fix this. Thank you!

I have build new system less then year back with, Z170A-PRO, i5-6500 and G.Skill 8GB DDR4 RAM. Everything was working properly until i removed my old graphics card and connected monitor to on board vga port and got 'No Signal' error. Thereafter done all the troubleshooting, but has nothing worked. Update: Also replaced new RAM and still there is no display on the motherboard.Only two possibilities left now: 1)Faulty Motherboard (40% chance) : Getting no beeps on board when turning it on and also no signal on display too. Processor fan is spinning. If i remove RAM stick it gives RAM error beep. 2) Faulty Processor : I bought this i5 6500 less than year ago, and there was no incident of power spike/display error or any other sign of faulty processor. Also motherboard is not giving CPU error beeps/LED now. I am really not sure whether it is really a faulty CPU. Checked pins, all seems f9. The another issue here is that, service center guys don't have spare processor to check on my motherboard. And also i don't have it. Any ideas what can i do..?

Hi all, would love some advice I finally finished my build last night, but have been unable to boot so far. Spec as follows Asus Maximus VIII Hero (Bios 3101) Intel i5 7600k 16GB Vengeance LED 2666 (2x 8GB) MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB Kingston 120GB SSD Seagate 2TB HDD NZXT Kraken x61 AIO cooler Corsair 750M PSU NZXT S340 Elite Case Bios has been updated to support the Kaby Lake CPU (I had a different error before this) On initial boot I get no display, and then boot hangs on Q Code A2 with Boot Device LED is solid orange. I have tried different SATA cables, different SATA ports and removing the 1070 and using onboard graphics from the motherboard. Still no output. Tried with just one RAM module. The SSD, HDD and graphics card are all from my old build so I know they work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So question...I just built a new computer i7 7700, msi H110M, RX480, 16GB RAM It turns on but there's no display... all power has been triple checked (4 pin and atx) and no beep codes. I'm guessing it's the bios version since it's a brand new processor, but you can't update the bios if there's no display... I've checked the MSI website to make sure that the processor is compatible already. I tried both onboard hdmi (removed the video card as well) and the RX480. Tried one RAM stick at a time Any ideas would be appreciated ?

So I had this problem a while ago and I fixed it with a tomshardware page here: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1664109/black-screen-installing-graphics-card-bit-noob.html and the solution worked for me, but I always had problems with display if I turn my computer off. I know the card works cause I've had it working for a while it just won't display if I turn my computer off and on (it undos what I had to make it work). Anyone have a more permanent solution?

Just purchased a new build, keeping my old case/PSU (ocz 650w) and the pc boots up, CPU/GPU fans are spinning and mobo led lights are on but nothing shows on my display. BUILD: Ryzen 5 1600 AMD RX 580 Corsair vengeance LPX 16gb (8gbx2) MSI B350M-A What I've tried: Changing around ram sticks, just one in each slot, both inserted. Removed CMOS battery for 10 minutes then held a screwdriver to the JBAT1 to CLEAR_CMOS Plugged in my old GTX 660ti DVI cable, HDMI cable (benq xl2410t I think is the monitor model, old 120hz monitor) I have reinserted my old build and that boots fine. Breadboarding the mobo on a cardboard box so nothing like a standoff should be shorting anything MOBO speaker is plugged in and not making any sound (I removed all ram to check the speaker is working and it did beep when no ram connected) image of the build running (old 660ti plugged in here but shows it booting image of the JBAT1 pins that I connected with a screwdriver for 5 seconds to clear the cmos (can someone confirm these are in fact the correct pins) SUMMARY: I'm pretty new to this stuff although I have spent many hours researching everything and I believe it's possible that the ram is not compatible (EVEN THOUGH IT SHOULD BE) or the mobo is Faulty, any other trouble shooting tips I should try or what should I try to return/change? I don't have access to any other ddr4 ram [EDIT: added two images of the build booting and the two JBAT1 pins I connected to clear the cmos asking if someone can verify these are in fact the correct pins]

Hi guys, I've been trying to get my new Ryzen system to boot and it's just not working. Wonder if any of you could help this frustrated soul. Here are the specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 Motherboard: ASRock B350M Pro4 , ASUS Prime B350m-A (tried both) RAM: Team Dark 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR43000 GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold I'm leaving out the storage from this list because it's not connected in any of my testing. Here's the problem: When I power on the system, the motherboard and fan LEDs light up, and all the fans are running. The screen stays completely black, and the motherboard speaker doesn't make any noise. So it isn't posting, isn't displaying the BIOS, and isn't making any sound on either of the motherboards I tested. These are all the things I've tried: 1. Graphics card - taken from my old rig, it works in that one, so not sure why it wouldn't work in this new one. 2. Power Supply - I plugged it into one of those PSU testers and it didn't show an error. 3. RAM - I swapped out my dimms for a single G-Skill 8GB stick that my friend had lying around. Still no BIOS or beeps. 4. Motherboard - Unable to resolve my problem, I went to Micro Center and exchanged my Asrock Motherboard for the ASUS one. Still the same problem occurs. So now I'm stuck, the only part I haven't tested is the processor...do I have a dead CPU? If so, wouldn't the speaker make some noise? I'm very confused as to what to check next, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Edit: Problem Solved! Swapped out the Team Dark RAM for some Crucial DDR4-2400, and it posted. Those who are thinking of making a build using Ryzen: be careful with choosing RAM. The Team Dark RAM I bought was listed in ASUS's Memory QVL, but it still didn't work.

Hello everyone, A few days ago, my computer shut off randomly and wouldn't turn back on. Eventually it turned on and one of the capasitors on my motherboard blew and my PSU started smoking. I have since RMA'd both and got replacements. I then fitted the replacements and turned it on. All of the fans turned on; including case fans, GPU fans and CPU fans, indicating that there was power to the board. However, there was no power to the rear i/o (my keyboard and mouse didn't light up, and there was no picture coming from both the VGA port on my motherboard and the HDMI and VGA on my GPU. I was certain that the CPU had failed me until I found out that RAM failure can produce the same symptoms. I do not have the recources to try the RAM nor CPU in another PC as the only other PC I have is a 2001 Dell. By what you can see here, do you think the problem is with the RAM or the CPU, or both? Thanks for you replies, my build is listed below: AMD FX: 8320 Asus GTX 750 $60 MSI Motherboard (I am uncertain of the name) Corsair CX-500M Corair Vengance RAM 8GB (2*4GB, both sticks don't work) WD 1TB HDD Generic Mid-Tower Case

Hi all. Just recently my gaming pc came to a screeching halt when I turned it on and there didn't seem to be any POST. there was no display. optical drives and hard drives spun up, sounded like the system was booting normally, but no display. also, I don't have a motherboard speaker so don't ask. I went blind. So I tried switching ram slots, switching ram modules, I tried a different display, I removed the graphics card and tried the igpu, i reset the cmos, changed the cmos battery entirely. Even let the system sit for a while unplugged in case it just had the sniffles. Nothing yielded any results. I've ruled out the ram and graphics card, I feel like if the processor was fried it wouldn't power on at all, and my temps never even approached tjunction while under load, so I feel like it must have been the board that went. My question is do you guys think I need to just go out and buy a new board or am I making a mistake? In case you're wondering about the specs: ASUS M5A 78L-M/USB3.0 motherboard AMD FX-8320E OC'd to 3.8GHz Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 8GB Kingston HyperX 1333 DDR3 EVGA GTX 670 Signature 2

Powermac G4 no chime; no display
Bruce boy posted a topic in Linux, macOS and Everything Not-Windows
Hey, I have a Power mac G4 MDD, yesterday i was trying to install Leopard on it, it kept on saying things like "Install failed and couldn't verify "Essentials" package" and a bunch of others, i searched it up and some other forum told me to reseat my ram in different places and see how it goes, that didn't work, it kept on coming up with the same messages. So then i gave up on it for a day and now it has no chime, and no display. I have tried another AGP card, resat the ram in different positions, tried ram from another working system, and booted with no drives plugged in. Help is much appreciated. --Bruce -

So basically I have tested my Gigabyte G1 Gaming gtx 970 in a different system(a) where it works without any hiccups, however when I put it in my other system(b) I can't seem to get a display. In system(b) I can put in my msi r9 270x in and it works without any hiccups. I have upgraded my power supply as I thought it was the issue, didn't work. I have tried replacing the ram, re-seating the ram, putting 1 piece of ram in each slot alone, cleared cmos several times, updated bios to p.4, unplugged every other device including hdd's, different hdmi cords, uninstalled all amd display drivers, all power connectors are in securely, and finally I have tried putting the gpu in a different slot with no success. I won't post the specs of system(a) unless needed. Keyboard doesn't light up and system doesn't get to bios. System(b): CPU: AMD FX6300 MOBO: MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition PSU: Cougar STX 550W RAM: XMS3 — 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz C9 (CMX16GX3M4A1600C9) GPU Working in system: MSI R9 270x 2g GPU no display in system(b): Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 Monitor: Can't remember model(sticker gone) but a Samsung 1920:1080 21.5"

Hello guys, I just recently built a new pc for myself and I was very eager to use it but when I turned it on, it doesn't show any display or rather it was just a plain black screen. But the PC is running, the fans are spinning and the CPU cooler is working fine too. I don't know what is the problem guys. The monitors works fine too. I don't have any Graphics Card installed so it was graphics from the cpu (on-board vga). I turned it on many times and sometimes it displays " Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device, then I restarted again and went back displaying nothing. I have 8GB of Ram, MSI B150M mobo, i5-6600k, and seasonic g-550 psu. Please help me out, thank you guys.
