I'm not sure if it is a grounding issue, but the audio jack on my motherboard has noise for some reason. (like what the Steam deck is currently having problems with, reported by GamersNexus). The noise is more noticeable when I move my mouse. I am using a reasonably old case and PSU. I've reinstalled the drivers just in case it that and made sure the screws are tightened (obviously not too much) Note: this issue is only on the rear jack, not the front. Hi there, I’ve looked around quite a lot and plan to continue to do so but I figured I’d post here just incase as a day has gone by and I can’t seem to find a solution. I recently bought a Lian Li O11D mini to swap cases and bought a new Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w SFX. I also got the new V2 strimmer cables from Lian Li to swap out my V1’s. +3 new fans also. That’s it for the new parts. My other parts are: Msi b650 mortar Msi 3070 ti gaming x trio Ryzen 7 7800x3D 2TB Seagate Barracuda WD SN550 512GB SeaSonic 750w Corsair 220T BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 x6 BeQuiet case fans (now 9, using 3 splitters on motherboard, but everything was fine when I used 2 splitters beforehand) V1 Lian Li strimmers 2x16GB 6000 CL30 G.Skill trident z neo I had everything connected in my new case, including new PSU and PSU cables, but my system gives me a solid red cpu and solid orange dram light. I already took a look at CPU socket but it looks fine to me, but I’m not exactly sure what it’s supposed to look like, images attached. I moved the motherboard, with cpu, cooler and ram attached, so I don’t know if they would be the cause of the problem. However, I tried switching back to my old psu and now it doesn’t work either. I also tried CMOS battery twice and neither attempt fixed it, and I also let it sit to see if it was memory training. No results so far but I thought to ask here for help. Thanks

Hi everyone. My Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 GPU: Gigabyte 1050ti OC Motherboard: MSI A520M-A PRO RAM: 2x 8GB Vengance DDR4 3200Mhz PSU: Artic 750W I have attached images. I am honestly so tired of this new build now, and I’m honestly considering just getting rid of it all and forgetting about it. I did a post test before putting the motherboard into the case, as it says to do in the ‘The last PC building guide you’ll ever need’ by LTT, and it went to bios and worked as it should. I continued with the installation and when I tried turning it on inside the case the CPU debug LED on the motherboard is staying lit, I’ve tried mostly all of the troubleshooting methods, like taking the ram out, trying one stick etc, re-sitting the CPU, clearing CMOS, testing the PSU, removing the M.2, using a different graphics card. I would have thought the bios was incompatible with my processor, BUT, why on earth would it have gone to bios before and not now?! I am just so confused on what is even happening, I can’t even try updating the bios because there is no bios flash button on this motherboard, and I don’t really want to buy another CPU and be stuck with it to find out that it’s actually the motherboard that’s broken. Please someone help. Thank You.

Tried to update my rig, the new stuff Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX ATX AM5 AMD Ryzen 5 7500F 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor Deepcool GAMMAXX 300 R 40 CFM CPU Cooler Kingston FURY 32 GB (1 x 32 GB) DDR5-5600 CL40 Memory I kept this GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Video Card (one fan bby) Aerocool KCAS 650W 80+ Bronze (very old psu, might be the problem?) 2 SSD 2,5s (tried unplugging one of them during troubleshooting) Motherboard and CPU should be compatible without any bios updates. What was happening: I turn the PC on It starts up the fans They all light up, but one of three in the front stops and turns on again, cpu cooler's light flickers. DRAM stick's RGB turns on last. During that CPU LED pops up for a second and turns off, then DRAM light stays on. During that I can't turn the PC off without giving it a good old reacharound and turning off the PSU. What happens after I unplugged and plugged stuff back. All fans start right away, but CPU cooler's light still flickers. LED - CPU on and off, then DRAM lights up untill the RGB on the RAM stick turns on! Then it moves to GPU and stays on. GPU fan is spinning. I can turn off the PC with the front button now. Monitor not posting in both scenarios. I can't try to install RAM or CPU to a different computer at the time. What's concerning: Motherboard has 8+4 pin power connectors to power up the CPU, but my PSU only has one 8 pin. Although I saw that's enough for stock rigs. Motherboard and CPU are compatible no bios update required (gigabyte website), but I don't see my ram in any compatibility lists with motherboard or CPU, PCPartPicker doesn't have an issue with this combo though. PC Repair shop fella thinks I bent the pins on the motherboard... CPU cooler's mounting took a lot of strength (first attempt at AM5 mounting and amd sockets in general) and now I'm afraid they could be right. They say I shouldn't check if I did it or not, I should just give it to them to check out (yeah right). 650W PSU should be enough based on a weak GPU and 7500f having better TDP numbers compared to my 13 yo Intel CPU previously installed, right?! I currently have a Ryzen 5 3600 with a 2060. I don't know a lot about computers so I'm not sure whether I need to upgrade my motherboard or whether It would be fine. I have a ROG STRIX B-450 GAMING II. I would upgrade my motherboard if I have to but i'd rather not if it's not necessary, but I understand that it might be overkill and would rather upgrade if it meant that i was going to cause any harm to my computer. If I was to upgrade my motherboard would that mean that I would need to find one that is also compatible with all my other parts as well as my new CPU? I've also heard people saying that I may need to upgrade my BIOS motherboard settings? How would I do that/know if that was something that I need to do? Appreciate any help anyone can offer :). -
Doing my first build and have been struggling to get the ATX into the motherboard, I've been trying for 2 days now, I've tried to get help everywhere and everyone just tells me to push harder and wiggle, but I've been constantly pushing as hard as I can to the point the motherboard flexes and I've wiggled it plenty, and this is all the progress I can make. There is a little gap and you can see the clip doesn't get under to engage. Do I have a faulty cable or something? The pins are not bent, I attached a picture of them just to make it clear that is not the issue. This has been making my first build a nightmare, would've been one of the last steps before I can finally use it but I'm stuck because of this shit.

The confusing fact is I heard Tier 5 is the last resort of a gaming rig. I want to play games and perform other tasks like browsing and emailing as well. Hello! I just got a 14600KF and I was searching for a new motherboard and i have a few questions. 1. Is it worth to overclock this procesor or are the boost speeds enough? if they are enough is a B760 enough for this CPU or i should still run a Z seriers motherboard? 2. Which one would you choose: B760:ASRock B760 Pro RSD4 Z690: ASRock Z690 PG RIPTIDE/ASRock Z690 PRO RS or if you have any better sugetions I would love to hear them! Thanks in advance!

Hello. I just baught a new gpu (msi ventus 3x e rtx 4070) and a new case (phanteks g500a), and when I moved all of my stuff from my old pc to the new case, I noticed that the gpu does not seem to fit into the PCIe slot all the way. When i push the gpu in, i have to push more on the right side than the left, and when it goes in, it feels like the left side of the PCIe (on the gpu) does not "click" in as far as the right side does. I also see that when it is pushed in, the screw holes where you screw in the thumbscrews (to secure the gpu), are not aligned (I have to push the case in towards the case). Additionally, the inputs in the motherboard (by the IO shield) look like they are not aligned (like the MOB is pushed to far into the case). When I push in the gpu (as far as I can), plug in the power and DP (displayport), and start the PC, I do get signal from the gpu. I am able to log into my system (so the gpu is geting power and giving out the correct signals). But when I go to device manager or task manager, the gpu is not detected. I have tried to activate the gpu in device manager, but I only have the option to disable it (so that does not work). When I plug the DP into another port on the gpu, I get no signal (only one port works). Does anyone know what could be causing this? I suspect that the gpu is not pushed in all the way, but how is that possible? I have mounted the MOB with all the screws, but do I need some spacers between the standoffs and the MOB itself?

I’m having problems with my pc since I built it a few months ago. I crashed in games after playing for some time (1 hour or up to 4 hours). Usually, it was the graphics driver crashing so I thought the GPU had problems. I reinstalled the newest drivers and even did clean reinstalls of Windows, manually installing the drivers with no internet connection. I flashed the BIOS to the newest Version (twice as a new update was released during my own troubleshooting). Problems consisted but I noticed that it was not always the graphics driver crashing, also sometimes the system would reboot with the crash and sometimes not. Thinking it might not be the GPU I reseated the CPU and started testing the RAM with Memtest86 and found errors all over the place, with and without XMP enabled. I read up on tweaking the RAM timings and used values from a guide I found online ( this website). I opted for the 6000 Hz 30-38-38-96 settings. Memtest showed no errors after, and I didn’t crash for some days (maybe I was just lucky). I started crashing again and Memtest also showed errors again. I tried testing with only one RAM stick in slot 2 at a time (they were in 2 and 4 before that). With one stick the tests had no errors even after several times. I'm using the PC with one RAM stick at the moment and no crashes since. I also stress tested with AIDA64 to maybe find out more. With two RAM sticks in and stressing everything the test failed in less than a minute. Only when stressing the GPU only and CPU (without stressing cache) only the test didn’t fail. RAM and cache only resulted in an almost immediate failure. With one RAM stick, in both cases, the test went fine stressing all the components together. I tested for 5 hours. So, I assume that it’s a hardware problem but from testing I would assume it is either the CPU or Motherboard that is having an issue, unfortunately I have no parts at hand to switch without sending either of them in. Is there something else I could try? What part is more likely to be broken? Or am I wrong with my assumptions all together? Hi I recently bricked my motherboard after purchasing a new r7 5800x. Since I need a new mobo anyways, is it recommended to just refund the new cpu, and go am5? I was thinking this was I would atleast be better off for gaming and have more upgradability in the future. I am currently working on a crappy Lenovo ThinkPad and want dual 3060's in the future. Only one GPU for now. However, I don't know what motherboard to get that will support dual GPU's . I have already selected these parts: Ryzen 5 7600, MSI Ventus GeForce 3060 12G, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200 16 X 2, NZXT H5 Flow RGB, MSI Spatium 1T, Noctua NH-U9S Black, EVGA Supernova 850 G6 80+ Gold, and I plan to upgrade storage in the future. I want to be able to upgrade GPU's over time and I need some Serious help with this.

Hello ' I'm sorry if this is allready on the forum, but I did not find any help at this moment. Computer working fine! next day no image (motherboard VGA error and Boot error LED) Asus 360 F ROG, Intel. Fast conclution - Only boot / post image on a NON CSM Graphics Card. (The Compatibility Support Module) in BIOS. PC - did run ok with a old GTX1070. But then I got this error. Things I did try. - Replace the GTX1070 with a other 1070 card. Still VGA error and no boot. - I removed the card and run onboard Graphics. Still VGA error and no boot. - I tryd a GTX660 - PC show image and auto turn on CSM mode. Win boot and all is ok. I also did try new PSU 750 and 850watt. I cant manage to get picture on the screen with any ''new'' Graphics card or with the onboard Graphics. So The UEFI Bios . dont get picture and give VGA error LED. If I try a GTX660, bios auto turn on CSM and PC works fine. Did Clear CMOS, and I did flash the bios and update it. Still no help. Is the motherboard UEFI broken? Thanks !

I am taking apart a laptop that had coffee spilled on it and the coffee didn't make it past the keyboard and I only saw traces of it in a motherboard screw. The keyboard ribbon feels stuck I have tried tweezers and very carefully with pliers but to no avail, there is no flip-up thing. Is there something I can use to loosen it up? -
Building my first 'powerful' Gaming PC.. (I've built many regular PCs though) So I have bought- * Ryzen 7600x * 32 gigs (16x2) DDR5 @ 6000 Mhz * an EVGA FTW 3080ti (that awesome friend of mine from Michigan sent over) * 850watt Thermaltake PSU I need your help with the Motherboard selection. I'm avoiding these entry level boards (for the sake of 7600x's TDP) Asrock HDV/M.2, Gigabyte B650 MK and MSI B650M-P I've finalized two boards, both are priced exactly the same at $192 (Yes.. these things are unfairly priced here in India ) Anything above them, is like $250 and above, which is crazy money for a board. Hi all, I need help troubleshooting why a motherboard would have lights on but not boot up. This is a complete build that's been working for years. I opened it to clean it and reconfigure the AIO. After putting it back together i can't get it to power up. I’ve already tried: Checking the CPU and reseating it (even though I didn't remove it before) Removing and reseating ram, and using one or more sticks alone. I’ve checked and replugged power cables (24 pin + 8 pin) I’ve removed and put back the graphics card, even tried without GC in. I’ve disconnected all cables to the rear IO. And ensured power switch plugs were seated. I've jumped the 24-pin on the PSU and made sure it's working (Fan turned on). And nothing, motherboard LED are on, but nothing else is. What could I have done wrong? Parts: Asus Strix X570-E Ryzen 7 3700X 32G Corsair Vengeance 3000 GTX 1060 Update: I cleared RTC Ram with the jumper and it started for a few seconds getting to code 15 (Initializing stage) then turned off and went back to unbootable. Update 2: It was the 24-pin plug, that was moving in its socket because it was tensioned over time. hard to notice.

Hello everyone, i hope you're having a nice day Last time i came around was because of a trouble caused by my Fan-Hub (Which i eventually resolved thanks to you people) But now im here because of ANOTHER Problem which im really tired of trying to solve by myself (I've been trying to fix it for two days straight) Anyways: I've been using these fans for 3 Months, as i told you before i had some problems which i fixed eventually but now (Out of nowhere because they were working just fine 2 days ago) i've been having this problem where my PWM Fans (The ones i've been using) Aren't recognizing any configurations (Neither in the BIOS or other programs like Fan Controller) I've tried everything, changing the FAN Header, changing the fan order, restarting the BIOS By taking off the battery, turning on and shutting down, etcetera Like i said before, everything and it's still won't work Funny thing is that when i start up the computer the fans get kind of fast, but just a little (E.g. Before this problem happened my fans went full-RPM when i turned on and after some seconds went back to normal, same happens now but with really low RPM) I even tried changing the curve to 100% which doesn't work! Interestingly, the CPU fan works normally... Proof of the problem: This is how it looks at Gigabyte SIV I've got my theory that some way or another it's stuck in Voltage mode but im not sure on what to do-

Hi when I use a 3.5 mm headset I get good audio but my mic super low even after maxing it out in windows and any app , also it picks up desktop audio. When I use a USB headset everything works fine . My drivers are all up to date and the bios too . I guess I have an issue with my soundcard , any ideas what I can do ?

Hello, I've recently built a pc with amd 5800x and gigabyte b550 gaming x2 that has FC version bios. Having all other components connected, I have power on but no display. The moment I switch the cpu with 5600g, it boots up to the bios menu. Otherwise, power turns on but no display. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi everyone, I'm currently building a system intended to be used as a router and am in search of a motherboard and CPU combination. The key requirement is support for dual 8x PCIe slots, with at least 2.0 speeds. I'm aiming for the most budget-friendly option available, ideally from the used market here in the UK (so eBay, FB marketplace etc). In terms of specifications, I'm prioritising power efficiency over performance (even a Pentium etc would suffice), as it will primarily run OpenSense or similar software. However, the upfront cost is more important to me. The system will be operating headlessly most of the time, so while an integrated GPU is a plus, it's not necessary. I'm open to any suggestions or advice that could point me in the right direction for this setup. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
