Hello people c: , So I recently bought a pre-built office pc with a Core i5 2400 8gb of ddr3 ram windows 10 pro and a 400 HDD, this PC has a Micro Star ms 7707 motherboard and had a GT 210 installed in it which I swapped out for a AMD Radeon HD 6950 but the card only shows it booting and loading windows and then it just gives weird output flashing screen and so on , this happened/started while installing the drivers for the card and went on after that, so unistalling them should fix it right ? Wrong I tried that and I still got this weird screen flashing . If I put the gt 210 back in it it just works fine . At this point am a bit lost and not exactly sure what to do, so help would be greatly appreciated ! c: I am building this pc for my little sister because she wants to play roblox and minecraft. Following is a Video of the screen flashing ! Weirdpc.mp4

I bought the NZXT fan & led controller some days ago, and because the nzxt rgb stripes were a little overpriced for my taste i ordered some cheaper ones. The problem now is that i just found out that i can't connect them with the controller. A website mentioned some sort of adapter with which a connection would work. Are there any links to this or is there some way to solder this myself?

Heya everyone! As you all know, Doom runs on everything and it's a meme to run it on the most crazy kinds of hardware. I wonder what the limits would be. The few ideas I had sound crazy and I have no idea if anyone thought of it before. Motherboard chipsets. They are literally just microcontrollers technically. A TV remote. There is plenty of smart TV remotes with insane features. So I wonder if it would be doable. They must be running some basic capable hardware. Nanoleaf Panels. If you had like a million of them, they could work as a screen technically. Not sure how capable the "base stations" are. Anyways, stay safe everyone, Have a nice day

Here's something I though Luke would enjoy. The Titanfall 2 community has managed to launch their own community hosted servers by reverse engineering the local server used for the campaign. Here is a trailer that a community member made - Titanfall 2 + Northstar Gameplay Trailer Coincidentally they also launched on December 24th the same day as the Battlefront 2 Custom Servers

Hi, i have an Asus Tuf gaming F15 laptop with 2 nvme slots and without a hdd connector. I have a 2TB 2.5 HDD with all of my games in it but i was dissappointed when i didn't find a hdd connector in my laptop. in the other hand, there is a place inside the laptop for a 2.5 hdd but with no connector. My idea is : to add an internal usb hub to one of the usb ports (i have 3 ports) without losing that port fonctionality and then connect my hdd to a usb to sata adapter. I have found some people talking about soldering the usb hub to one of the laptop usb pins on the motherboard. Can someone provide me with a detailed tutorial for that. Thanks.

Hey guys. In Brazil, SFF/Slim boxes are little used and their variety is low. For space reasons I bought a Dell optiplex 790DT case to put my setup, but I'm not sure how to connect the front panel of the case to a regular motherboard. My Config: Ryzen 5700G, Gigabyte B450 DS3H, Nvme 512GB, Scythe Big Shuriken 3 I will use a Seasonic TFX 300W power supply. As I know I will have to increase the size of the front panel wiring, I looked for an adapter for that but I didn't find one, I just found one for those who want to use the motherboard in other cases.

modding I would like to build a system monitor into my desk.
Impious posted a topic in Cases and Mods
I have seen some Case mods for a system monitor LCD inside the case, but I was thinking about setting one up inside my desk, like a little spot with a glass top with a Pie and maybe a touchscreen. I have no idea what im doing, any thoughts would be appreciated. -
Hi everyone! In times of needs we have to make do with what we have: what I have available is an old hpe server and a gtx 980 from iChill. My problem with that card is that the cooler is too damn big and doesn't fit in the case. I would say that it occupies 2,5 pcie slots. Even if I just remove the outer part, it will not fit. I could remove the fans as well, but then the fins are perpendicular to the server airflow. (btw the server has an orizzontal pcie slot: see image) Therefore I was thinking about swapping the stock cooler for a fat fin heat speader to somehow attach to the card, or maybe use a low profile cpu cooler. Does anyone has any idea where to get the cooler, which one could work etc? Is it a good idea? Thanks for the help! gjed Server info: HPE Proliant FL380 Gen 9, 2U Dual Xeon E5-2623v3 32 gb DDR4

Hey Guys, I'm currently modding a Macintosh Classic to a modernish PC. Now that I'm nearing to finish this project I'm searching for a good looking keyboard that will suit it well. I've already modded an "Apple Desktop Bus Mouse" to be wireless and compatible. So if anyone out there has a good recommendation to buy without breaking the bank, feel free to post them here. I would also appreciate, if you have suggestions of building custom keyboards (with partlists) or some guide of modding old ones to be USB or wireless. Those three keyboards i have found and thought about them, but the DURGOD ones are too expensive for me.

For reasons im asking the LTT forum of all places is I dont really think reddits forum for r/Simracing is gonna shed light on DIY projects like these and im hoping theres a few people who work with boards and have insight on how to do wiring or explain it in a way I can understand. for why im posting it in general discussion I dont see any other places that would catorgorize my questions properly Essentially for the button 1 to 16 im really confused on how to wire the buttons when buttons usually have a plus and minus like how pc boot up is where it needs a point of contact between metal to power it on but for this instance its sending a signal but then im really oddly confused since it seems like theres not gonna be any where its gonna get a signal to send to the pad because it doesnt have any power to tell if the button is working or not this is a really confusing post but if buttons only have 2 wires and one receives power and the button is the way to let the power through to the other wire to send a signal then this is oddly confusing because theres only 16 pads there labeled if you are wondering what im trying to do is that im trying to modify my logitech driving force pro and getting rid of the old logitech board and its motor since its weak and horrible in all honesty and the old logitech board would have not allowed me to do a reliable motor swap since the logitech power brick is not that big and it would need more voltage it couldnt handle to run a new motor so I opted to essentially diy a steering wheel inside a carcass of the logitech wheel and I want to keep using the rim while having the buttons on the rim to still work so id need to wire that which is a pain but its honestly cheaper than getting a brand new wheel especially in my economy with this option proving to be more efficient in terms of the results compared to brand new wheels like the g29 or the trueforce logitech wheel so im just confused on how to wire the buttons if the firmware im gonna be using to make this all work says that those specific pads are the ones to receive the buttons signal with no insight on where the buttons can get power to send a signal

Is there any information or resources on how one would go about doing this? I know people have already managed to mod FSR into Steam VR and even GTA 5, but I have not heard of someone doing such in a Unity game, although as far as I know it should be possible considering how documented Unity is when it comes to modding.

This is a special treat for all SFF fans, I wanted to do something elegant and simple. The front panel, graphics card backplate as well as the CPU waterblock are vinyl wrapped, haven't used any real wood.

First of all, I hope this is in the right forum subsection, and I thank anyone that can help me with my question, in advance... I have an old powerPC iMac that I would like to use for converting to a Windows PC, but I have found out that I am more than likely going to have to scrap part of my original idea to use the built-in LEDs for the power button although I might be able to solder on a couple of wires directly to the power button itself and use that without any of the other motherboard parts, and being that the iMac originally had bi-color LEDs, I am wondering if anyone has done a mod where they add bicolor LEDs to a Windows set up so as to save wiring space or whatever reason they might have for doing so??? Is it feasible, and or advisable to do such a mod or is it only easily possible, using another way??? I definitely want to do it, but I'm not sure if I want to do it because I have heard another place online, someone mention it only to be told that "they wouldn't do it, it's risky"... If I had an old board to try I would do it but unfortunately all I have is OEM equipment to spare, and it's Dell, so, yeah, and I'm not trying it on my main 3900X system, because, well, it's a 3900X system... If anyone who knows anything about this subject, is wondering I may have "Common Cathode" LEDs coming, on the premise that each individual light could be turned on individually, from the plus side, which, if my limited knowledge of bi-color LEDs is correct, would usually be how that stuff works... Am I right, and if the idea would work, was I right to think about buying common cathode LEDs, or should I have looked at common anode LEDs???

Hi! I recently got the Corsair k100 and I'm wondering, could you paint the backplate without getting the switches or taking apart the keyboard?

In Silent Hill we have the Otherworld, this is what I imagine Antec's Dark Cube case would look like in that world. If you're a fan of the franchise, you should recognize the knife Btw this was my entry for Germany's Case Mod Championship (DCMM) in Cologne this year, didn't win but hell it was fun to make and to participate

I know this is probably going to be a very dumb question, brand new builder here... please point me towards an already raised topic and delete this if im repeating someone else, I tried to search but couldn't find an answer... Currently building in the NR200 and was going to get a custom length EPS cable as my current SX800-LTI cable just about reaches the mobo socket, thought if I'm gunna do that, might as well go custom for all the cables. Enter my confusion, regarding the bridged PCI-E cables, I cannot figure out if I need the 6+8 bridged or the 8+6 bridged. I saw a video that lead me to think I should get the 6+8 but comparing the bevels on the pin ports, looks as though I need the 8+6 cable instead? I'm running a Zotac 2070 Super mini Again, sorry for the dumb question, didn't want to dump money into something and wait 3 weeks only to find out I got the wrong thing....

Right now on humble bundle GTA V is on sale for $15 USD. I want to get the game but I also want to use mods on it. Does the Rockstar launcher work with mods? Also, I heard that Rockstar will automatically update games. Is there any way to manually revert to an older game version to not break mods? Thank you for the help.

Is there any easy way to step the voltage of an EPS 12V connecter down to 5V? I have a Razer Core X that I have added custom LED lighting to, and I want to convert my Core to be RGB. I was able to add the LED lights because they already operate on 12V so there is no problem just sipping a little bit of power off of of one of the 8pin connecters. The problem is that the microcontroller that I want to use to create my own custom RGB controller operates on 5V logic. How can I convert an EPS 12V connecter to 5V so I can connect my custom controller?

Cooling and overheating are some of my biggest bothers when it comes to laptops so when I was looking up Arctic MX-5 reviews on Youtube, I accidentally happened upon a video where the user modified his laptops CPU cooler by gluing copper wires. So I looked up CPU cooler modding and found out about gluing additional copper pipes, which was proven to work. So now I'm looking for the best adhesive to glue the pipes together. Should I actually look for a thermal glue or would thermal paste do the trick? I ask that because I am looking up a list of the best thermal GLUE which also includes thermal PASTE - so does it also double as adhesive? 10 Best Thermal Glue Thanks.

Looking into getting some Witcher 3 mods and I've seen Nexusmods pop up but before I just download random stuff, is it legit? Anything I should be careful with?

I've researched this topic, but the last thread i could find was from multiple years ago. So what i was wondering is if i could modify the Corsair LL120/140 fans so that they can be used as intake fans and still have the light loop facing inward. Yes, i've heard of the QL120/140s, but i'm getting 9 of these (doing an 011d build) so i don't want to pay 90 extra dollars for worse-performing and (imo) worse-looking fans. Thanks in advance yall

Hi, I have modded a windows 10 install to look like windows 7. Then after I enable a Virtual support feature and rebooted I lost all the icons on the PC besides the start menu with a open shell mod. I followed a guide on deleting the IconCache.db file that didn't help. I don't want to reset the PC with my steam games on it. Someone please help!

Hello, I need some help. And please forgive any mistakes, english is not my mother language. A friend gave me a Cooler Master V6 cooler from an old build of his, and I was wondering if it would be possible to adapt it to use in my ryzen system, I currently use a 3800X with the stock cooler. I know that cooler master doesn't officialy support this cooler anymore and doesn't have a adapter to the AM4 socket for this specific cooler. Though I've seen some similarities between it's mounting mechanism and the V8 variant. What I'd like to know is if it would be possible to use with/adapt it to the AM4 mobo I currently have.
