Hi! I'm searching for a way to play a sound to my mic. Let's say that when I click a button or a shortcut that I choose, a sound will be played to the people I'm talking to in discord from my mic (as if I were making the sound with my mic). Is there a software or even a hardware solution to that?

Hello I don't know where to address this issue but I hope this is the right place, whenever I plug in my headset into an audio jack all I could here is a buzzing sound and nothing else, same thing with microphone I plugged it in a jack it doesn't detect sound however when I listen to the mic's audio it's the same buzzing noise from before any tips ? PS (I updated all the drivers and tried the headset and mic on a different PC and they work fine, I also tried a new headset and it has the same problem on my computer )

Hello, When I switch on my pc, the monitor doesnt always respond. Sometimes it comes up and sometime it says "no signal". I dunno wether the issue is with the gpu or cable or the monitor itself. How do I debug this issue further? I really need some help with this. Samvid.

not sure if i picked this on exactly the right topic but it is about networks so yeah i am wondering what is the main diffreance between an 1Gbit and 2.5Gbits i found an really intressting router that also have 2.5Gbit but my motherboard only have up to 1Gbit so is it still worth it since it is still really amazing or should i go for another because of waste of money? what is the main difference and when do you mainly notice? the one i am looking at is the gaming router asus rog GT-AX11000 thoughts?

I was testing out some old GPU's with my 4K tv and another pc i built for testing and when I was done, I plugged my hdmi 2.0 cable back to my gpu in my own pc and it wouldnt recognize my tv as a samsung 4k tv anymore. It just says its a generic pnp monitor with a dvi connection in the nvidia control panel. Im stuck using 1024x768 only. I did forget to turn off my pc and then unplug when I just only unplugged it. I reinstalled the nvidia drivers twice, restarted my pc multiple times, tried making a custom resolution in nvidia control panel, reset windows, reseated my gpu, replugged my cables, restarted my pc, tried different ports but none made a major difference. The only thing I could think of is factory reseting my 4k tv and hoping it could make a difference. Please help, Everything was working perfectly up until now. If you have any suggestions, tips, ideas, please let me know. Thanks

A relative working with VR for applications in medical education sent me this article and I wasn't able to find it on the forum yet. I like VR but I'm not a fan of any of the controllers I've used and something like a glove would be much more natural, maybe not for gaming, but for 3D modeling which is my main interest as far as VR applications go. That's why I try to keep up with the glove tech a bit. This design Plexus has looks pretty comfortable to me (keeping most of the hand open). I've seen some other prototype designs like this but they were more bulky and I like how most of the weight is on the back of the hand towards the wrist. I don't know much as far as programming something like this but on the plexus site it seems development and compatibility are a focus (which they should be) and as mentioned in the article the price is lower ($250) than other gloves that have been released. Also the modular hardware aspect seems like a great idea for developers. I'm optimistic about the future of VR interaction and if input like this developed and implemented well I will probably invest in a VR system. For now I'm just happy to see development! I know @Slick is busy busy with Floatplane now but I always like his VR opinions so hopefully in the future he will do a couple VR Glove reviews when implementation is wider! Hello i have been dealing with this problem for months now, and cant find any solution to it. My PC is running very poorly with high input lag, lower fps then before and CPU usage 90%-100% in all games. My CPU temperatures are fine (30-45 degrees). Games are pretty much unplayable because of the lag Things i have tried - Re seating parts and CPU Fan Doing a full re install of windows (this indicates to me that it is probably a hardware issue) Tried different power outlets Tried different power board Clean the CPU and other part sockets and dusted PC Tried it with a different hard drive Tried it in another house Specs - GPU - GTX 1060 6gb CPU - Intel i5 7600K Ram - 16GB DDR4 Mobo - Z270 Any help or suggestions of any kind would be really appreciated because I am so frustrated with this.

Recently, a weird mouse input lag is going on any games (desktop) when I use Windows 1709 or 1803. I borrowed two different mouses from my friend and used it on my PC, but the problem still pursues. Don't tell me that something is wrong with my USB port because I bought a new motherboard but the lag is still there. Windows 8.1 runs just fine though. But I want to run windows 10 since I ran Windows 10 previously with no issues.

I can't seem to google the solution to this problem, and thus I come to you all ... I don't know if this applies across the board to all my applications/general usage of the PC, but for whatever reason, in playing games, Fornite specifically, my DS4 USB receiver is essentially hijacking my audio input/output priorities, and I can't hear voice communication; however still able to hear in-game effects. In addition, there doesn't seem to be any issues when using Discord, as far as hearing and communicating with friends goes...So I'm presuming it may be an issue with the audio priorities of Fortnite, in which case I have already toggled my Voice Chat Input Device as being my headset/microphone. With all that being said, I still would ultimately like to somehow disable the DS4 dongle as being recognized as an audio device, which I would think would be the ultimate solution here. Any possible solutions or suggestions? Thanks.

Hey guys,So I have an Avid Mbox 3 soundcard, with one of the line inputs not working. I always plug in my mic into the second channel, and it works fine with all apps on my computer. Except Steam. Steam doesn't seem to catch audio through the mic, even though discord for example would be working perfectly. Is this probably because steam is trying to pick the first audio channel which has no mic plugged into it? Is there perhaps a way in windows to choose the audio channel for the respective audio device??I have went through the whole driver settings pages and I can't find "default channel selection" or anything similar. Moreover, I have tried switching back and forth between the different audio devices that my soundcard introduces into the computer (Line 1/2, multichannel, and SP/DIF), but still. Realtek audio driver doesn't recognize the soundcard, just for reference.I have went through the steam official guides to fix audio, but to no avail, since my mic has no issue with the computer in general, only with steam!Any help is greatly appreciated!

Okey, this is really weird. I build a computer recently and it worked fine. But now a few weeks later it has some problems. After about 10 minutes the computer appears to completely lock up, but it's not. If I keep task manager open it still goes, also the clock still ticks. But the mouse cursor disappears, and keyboard stops working. This happens in windows, in save mode and in the UEFI! So the computer doesn't lock up. but every possible input does. Even if I connect over team viewer it locks and disconnects. So it seems like all controllers ( USB, Ethernet, PCIe ) lock up. But I have no clue how. It's a new Ryzen 2200G system, in an ASRock AB350M Pro4 mobo with 8 GB of crucial ddr4 Any suggestions?

Hey! So some backstory: So I'm looking to get a proper HDMI Switch so I can switch whichever console I want my capture card to capture. Currently I'm using a 5-input 1-output cheapo switch with a remote, that automatically detects whichever device suddenly turns on and switches to it. This is practical, but has lead to severe issues during streams, in particular the PS2 game Klonoa seems to stop sending signals whenever it's about to enter and exit a loading screen, causing at some point the HDMI Switch to simply switch to "nothing". My capture card just simply isn't receiving anything at all, after enough rapid switching. The only remedy was unplugging the Switch and using the cables directly into the capture card. So now I need one that can only manually switch, or at least disable auto-switching, with as many inputs as possible. I also capture my PC's graphics output this way, and wouldn't mind futureproofing a little if I can get a Switch that supports a higher HDMI standard and lets me at some point stream or upload HDR content in 4K 144hz. What I found So essentially I looked around eBay and stumbled across this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/8-In-1-Out-Rack-Mount-Video-Audio-HDMI-Switch-Support-3840-2160-4K/323196318880?hash=item4b400074a0:g:TiEAAOSwIzBaw3iC https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Port-HDMI-2-0-HDTV-4K-60Hz-Switch-with-Audio-Output/323198642355?hash=item4b4023e8b3:g:qGkAAOSw6TRaw35q All my alarm bells went off, considering not only is this the seemingly only Switch on eBay that I could find supporting all those features without being a KVM Switch, but also because the price is extremely low for that featureset. They've got one sale on their profile, and are seemingly as new as from CES 2018. The description of the product claims they had a showing at CES. Problem is, Google seems to yield nothing when I try to figure out what even happened at CES this year. Halp?

Let me preface by saying that I have watched the LTT video on cables. The video only seemed to cover artifacting/signal loss at long distances though. Alright, so from what I've gathered the Vive's cables are only about 15ft long out of the box. My questions are: How long could you extend the Vive's HDMI and USB cables before you would experience input lag? Also what solutions would you suggest for extending the cable length. Are active cables overkill. Does any amount of repeaters produce a noticeable amount of input lag?

This is an xpost from a youtube comment which in under 24 hours has shown some backing. Linus I know you're unlikely to hear this comment, but PLEASE help me out. Anyone reading, like this comment if you too are interested. TL;DR: PLEASE make an input latency comparison video on LCD vs CRT, just like you did for FreeSync vs GSync. I used to play COD on a huge CRT tv, and I will personally swear by the difference between playing on my family's 50" flatscreen. I think there could be a difference between a living room LCD and an LCD monitor, but I keep reading online that CRTs boast a 0ms input latency. The problem here is that LCD monitor companies like asus, acer, benq, hp, dell, and viewsonic ALL boast about their REFRESH RATES of 1-5ms. This stat IS relevant, as ghosting is a huge issue with LCDs in general, but it isn't the same in terms of INPUT LATENCY which gamers have to face in fast paced, reaction time based games like League of Legends. I saw your video on comparing Gsync to Freesync, and I found it very informational. Your setup was literally perfect. The LED circuit board inputting the fire command was GENIUS, and the 980 fps camera was exactly what you needed to truly test the problem. I would be IMMENSELY grateful for you to do a similar comparison video between your typical 1ms response time gaming LCD monitor and any sort of 85+Hz CRT monitor. I just dont have the kind of apperatus for testing like you do. With your level of popularity, who knows.

I am looking to spend on a really good computer monitor, however most monitors don't accept more than 2-3 inputs (Unlike TVs which can often handle 2-3 HDMI inputs + 1-2 Component inputs + some USG/HDD inputs + VGA) I would like to connect my main PC, my server, a laptop, a nintendo switch, Xbox, Playstation and maybe even an amazon firestick to the monitor. I don't want to go through the pain of having to re-connect/disconnect each device every time. Is there some sort of hub/switch that I can connect all these devices to that will then input to the PC and Switch input sources if and when I need them? Basically like how you switch sources on a TV, only thing is, I want to use a gaming monitor as I want the high FPS. Please help

sometimes when I turn on my computer the monitor say that there is no video input. the computer comes on (mobo, ram, graphic card, fans, LED's) even my keyboard and mouse light's up too. I have check the cables and change the display port for the HDMI and got the same no video input. The only thing that I can do is to power off the computer multiple time until it comes back with a video image on my monitor. the problem continues to happen when I power off and turn it on the next day. I also did updates on the graphic card and win10. I have not done a Bios update. I'm still having the same problem. I have had my PC for about 2 years now. This start about 2 weeks ago. plz help Does someone know what else can I do to fix this? Hey guys, so i just have this question. Im trying to see if its possible for me to display two inputs from two completely separate computers on one display. Like split screen or floating image. I understand this is more than possible but i have a Sceptre C328W-1920R display. I have my personal gaming PC set up on DisplayPort and another dell pc set up on HDMI. Im trying to get these two PCs to display side by side or in a floating imagine on the screen. Im not sure if my monitor supports PIP as a hardware function but im curious if you guys could shed some light on this topic for me. Is what i want to do possible with the monitor i currently have? if so how would i go about doing it and just for future reference, would i need to have a monitor specifically with PIP / Dual Input display support in order to do this?

Okay, so here’s my issue. I have a Razer Blackwidow keyboard & razer naga chroma, one day when I turned my pc on the side buttons on my mouse weren’t working. After doing minimal research, I uninstalled the keyboard and mice from the device manager. I restarted my computer, plugged the devices back in and my pc didn’t detect them. I switched the ports, 2.0, 3.0, everything. After it wasn’t picking up, and I couldn’t sign in to reinstall the drivers, I switched to a different mouse/ keyboard just to sign in and fix my problem but the same thing happened. The mouse would flash on but if wouldnt move. I can’t open the Bios or log in because I have no input. I’m currently using windows 8. Please help! Thank you.

Hey, so a bit ago I got a computer. I wanted to add a new gpu, so I did. I bought a GTX 750 TI 2gb. It didnt fit the case so naturally I switched cases. But now for some reason the back isnt working? Like, i plugged my keyboard, mouse, and monitor into the back usbs (the ones on the front of the case dont work--- i havent figured out where to plug them into) anyways, im using the ones that are connected to the motherboard. All fans are running and everything seems to be working fine. I also added a fresh 1tb HDD with no OS or anything. But it just seems like the back is well, just not working. Ive been at it for days and Im completely stuck. Any ideas? Update: ive tried to take 1 ram stick out at a time. Still nothing. I realized my mouses lazer flashes on for about half a second when i first start up the pc.

So I have 3 monitors, 2 of which are connected to my GPU via HDMI and one DIV. My other monitor is a TV connected to my motherboard via HDMI but will only display in 1400x1050. It was working perfectly fine in 1080p just a few days ago but when I went to play battlefield 1, my resolution changed and messed it all up. I've tried everything from updating drivers, changing drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, unplugging my TV changing my TV settings, running the game again to see if it would change, and changing the settings in the BIOS...I feel like I've done just about everything I know how, so if someone can help me figure this out, it would be highly appreciated! [UPDATE] I notice that the TV resolution is set to 1080p but windows itself is not/ will not show 1080p.

Hey guys, I have a problem in the game Squad. Somehow I can't talk via VOIP there anymore since a new installation of the game. There is no problem with hearing the other players but using the mic. It works perfectly in other programs like Discord. So other players sent me this link and told me this works. The program somehow doesn't because the Output is displayed in Input and vice versa. I tried anyway and I didn't have any sound ingame and when I pushed the VOIP button my mates could hear themselves and my audio. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue? I also got this link, but it didn't work too. Thanks in advance!!
