So i have been playing around with a portable version of counter strike source. If you set the video to 1080 you can play the game just fine, BUT if you close the game and try to relaunch it, the game just crashes. This is consistent on every computer i have tested. The problem is also contained to the user account because if you try to run it on a new account it works just fine (so long as you don't change it to 1080). My conclusion is there is some sort of config file that is created when you set the game to 1080 that prohibits the game from relaunching. I have spent the past 2 hours looking for this file in the temp files and every other part of my computer (including hidden files). I have finally come here in hopes someone smarter can work this out. Click the link HERE to download the portable game and replicate my problem. 7zip is required for this game to run. This is just one of those problems that has me by the balls, any help, theories, or input would be GREATLY appreciated!

So, recently I've gotten into retro gaming. It feels like something I can finally enjoy compared to all the things of today. I recently acquired 7 PCs just so I could mess around with them and I got the bright idea to put one together and put XP on it. I installed the copy of XP only to find I don't know how to set up the internet. I'm going through a hard time right now because I don't know how to get this Ethernet cable detected by the PC. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more information then that I'd gladly provide it.

Hello Guys,I have a issue with my Sony 32GB Flash, this morning I started my project on install vista on the usb (by extracting the files from the install.wim file and using bootsect and bcdboot" ,it was extracting files and working fine so untill 15 minutes ago,the drive dropped of the face of the earth and gave a error as listed "Error Performing Inpage Operation" And in Computer Management (compmgmt.msc) it says the drive is RAW (I dont know what that means,so any comment about RAW Drives may help)and when i right click it,the Delete Volume Button is grayed out so I cant click it,tried the same on a different computer, did'nt help, tried formatting using Rufus,no luck, currently im running Check-Disk (CHKDSK) with /f /r (tried just with /f which was suggested by a google search of the error,it found errors and fixed them, but no luck still) Any help or suggestion might help. Thanks

So i want to upgrade my laptop (t410) with an external gpu via mini pcie, the gpu i was thinking of is the HD 5750 wich requires a 6 pin conector. The problem is that i want the enclousure to be as small as possible so i want to use a pico psu, and also finding an external mini pcie dock with an x16 slot that would work with a pico psu so that i dont have to reroute or cut any cables. To be more percise i was thinking of using this psu https://www.amazon.de/PicoPSU-90-DC-DC-mini-ITX-Netzteil-supply/dp/B004QDP05C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501012224&sr=8-1&keywords=pico+psu Could i just use a sata to 6 pin adapter or is even possible at all to use on of these picos with a dock simmilar to this https://www.banggood.com/Mini-PCI-E-Version-V8_0-EXP-GDC-Beast-Laptop-External-Independent-Video-Card-Dock-p-1011222.html?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=cussku&utm_campaign=lowspecgamer&utm_content=lailixian Are there any adapters so that i could power the pcie slot and the additonal 6pin with that psu? I only need power for the gpu not an entire system. sry for shitty spelling pls help and many thanks C:

I was wondering what are the chances that if I build my own pc that I screw something up ? I've watched many videos and I think I can build one without having to watch another video. what are the chances that I electric discharge something ? I will have an electrostatic wrist band but if I do shock something will it still work ??? im just worried that if I do shock something it breaks, is it unlikely or ? THANKS

Hello guys so funny thing happening, I just bought a nice new Zotac AMP! Edition 1080ti, noticed during stress testing at 120% power I have my LED lamps flickering in my office LOL. I'm thinking this is normal because of the power draw my system is having. I undervolted my Ryzen CPU to 1.062 volts and that seemed to help a little. So I guess my question is a Corsair TW650 not enough to run my system? Power Supply Calculator says i'm within range. This could also just be the LED lamps being sensitive to the amount of current they themselves draw, not sure. House is new, moving to another plug does not help the issue. Problem also does not happen at 100% power settings for the 1080ti. It just sucks if it is my PSU, I quite enjoy overclocking my Ryzen CPU to 3.9GHz at 1.33v but will now thermal throttle because of the heat the 1080 produces so i'll have to upgrade the cooler on the CPU. Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen R5 1600 CPU @ 3200Mhz, 1.0625 vcore w/Stock Cooler RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston HyperX Fury 2400 Mhz w/OC to 3200Mhz at 1.4v (timings 16-16-16-16-36) stable HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM SATA Drive SSD: Samsung 960 EVO NVMe PCI-E SSD 250GB Mobo: ASRock AB350M Pro 4 M-ATX Motherboard w/AGESA 1.0.0.6a Monitor: Samsung 24'' 144hz Curved gaming monitor (1080p) Case: NZXT S340 w/ 2 140mm intake fans (dust cover removed) and 2 120mm exhaust. Both sets of fans are corsair white RGB fans. Below are images of temps and power draw during simultaneous Prime95 and Furmark tests running.

Hi, I've been in PC gaming for about a year and my glass desk is super annoying. Cable management is non-existent and my glass is hard as sh*t to clean. I want to either get a wood desk (cheap and with a wooden back to help hide cables also thicker would be ideal) or put wood around the metal bar-ish structure that the glass is sitting on (the glass is removable). Please help in deciding what i should do and by leaving any links that will help me do that. Thanks.

So I keep a variety of windows open on my second monitor and I was wondering if there is a way or a program i can use to dock these windows inside another window. and potentially save the configuration. I keep generally a minimum of 4 windows on the screen at once (mainly GPU-Z, Task manager, Intel XTU and skype or disscord) but i also often have a other application on the same screen that I keep maximized like my web browser, steam ect. so if im playing a game and tab into my web browser to check something I then either need to mouse out of the game to minimize the full screen window or tab each of the smaller windows to the front individually. also It would be nice to be able to have multiple layouts saved so without having to manually reorder my layout i could switch between my performance screen (as i will refer to my gpuz xtu taskmanagetr screen form now on) and a obs/twitchchat screen lets say if i was live streaming. Has anyone here used the CPE-610 before? I got one recently and it does work except that it is missing the lower range of freqencies, lowest I can go is 5745 rather than the 5100 or 5140 I am not sure exactly what the lowest channel is supposed to be but something like that. Has anyone had this before? it is listed in the specs to have these options but they are not available to me and I am unsure why. Also there is two modes for the antenna, one being feed only mode and one being antenna. Feed only seems to give it more power but I am not exactly sure of how these modes work... Thanks for any help!

Hello all, I built my first PC around Christmas time last year, and for some reason the performance isn't what is should be considering the specifications. My specs are: CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x GPU: Zotac RTX 2070 mini oc Cooler: DEEPCOOL Gammaxx GT PSU: EVGA 650GQ, 80+ Gold rated Motherboard: MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON RAM: Corsair CMW16GX4M2C3000C15 Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz OS: Windows 10 home 64 bit BIOS version: American Megatrends Inc. 1.J0, 31/10/2018 I am not sure why but I am getting about 40% fps in games, the CPU and GPU are never at 100%. I have tried asking some companies about the GPU, NVIDIA, no help, Zotac, no help and then the supplier. As a last ditch effort to see if the GPU was at fault to I returned it to the supplier, Overclockers in the UK, they compared compared it to a palit rtx 2070 and had the same bench scores. I did the same bench at home and had much lower than their bench score. There is no thermal throttling, the cooler i use keeps the cpu at 43 oc and is never at 100% load. I also reinstalled my OS and still the same performance. Please help me. Many thanks, TTERRORS

Hi, I recently built my first pc around Christmas. It was working great for about 2 months and then I started having troubles with my graphics card. I contacted NVIDIA and they said to check my drivers. I did that and had to reinstall the latest driver. As soon as I did that, I got a led debugger light on my motherboard on the VGA section and then my computer crashed. I took out my graphics card to see if that would do anything and it still crashed. I took the whole computer apart and put it back together and that didn't do anything. I tried to reinstall windows and that didn't do anything. I reset my CMOS and that didn't do anything. I contacted Microsoft and they said that it was most likely a hardware issue. I contacted ASUS who made my GPU and they said that it was most likely a motherboard or CPU issue. I then contacted MSI who made my motherboard and they sent me an RMA order and I sent it to them to see what they could do. I just received my motherboard back and tried to put it back together to see if they fixed the issue and guess what? Still got more blue screens. I'm not too knowledgeable about computers but I think I've narrowed it down to either my CPU or my windows boot drive. Could my Windows USB be corrupted and is only installing a corrupt system? Or is it the CPU? Or something I haven't thought of? Thanks.
