So the reviews of the wired Steelseries Arctis 3 led me to believe it was a pretty good headset for the money, but the sound quality is awful. Most things now sound like they're being played through a think layer of foam. I don't know what I'm missing -- if I just got a bad pair or I did something wrong setting them up, but I feel like I spent too much money for them to sound this awful. Even accounting for gaming headsets having poor sound quality compared to audiophile gear, I shjould still be able to hear the dialogue in a film or YouTube video with the volume wheel on the headphones turned up, the volume settings of my PC all the way up and the volume on YouTube turned up. Has anyone else had similar issues? Or should I resign myself to looking for a different pair?

Simply I am looking for a nice wireless headset and would love some advice. Extra details (story): I am looking for something that fits my lifestyle, I've gotten busy and also find most enjoyment spending my evenings relaxing and cooking. Not spending time on my Gaming PC. So I never socialize with my friends anymore. Essentially I am looking for something that's wireless with strong connectivity (walking around the house), comfortable to wear around the house while cleaning or cooking, good mic so I can use it for games and work, and decent enough audio (hopefully surround) so I can capitalize on games or be an audiophile in general. Extra benefits would be portability (and clean look) so I can wear it out and about or at the office, or even possibly for running. I don't need everything since I have pixel buds for things like running and zoom meetings Features in order of importance: Wireless -Strong Connectivity (Walking around house, 2 story townhome) Good Mic -Gaming -Zoom Meetings -Either high quality built-in mics or a detachable boom mic would be sick. Comfortable to wear -Wearing potentially while Cooking, Cleaning, Working 8 hours in office, Zoom Meetings -Extra: While running High Quality Audio -Gaming -Music Audiophile Portability and Style -Clean Simple -Wear it out and about -Wear it in the office without a blatantly "RGB LIGHTS GAMING HEADSET!!!" vibe

I am looking for a comfortable headset (headphones and mic) that my sister can use for work. They must be around $50 USD USB Require no additional software since they are going to be plugged into a work computer comfortable for long periods of time. sit around the ear not on the ear. The headset is going to be for be for zoom meetings and maybe steaming music but since she is going to be on long meetings they will need to be comfortable.

Hi, I've been really struggling to look for a headset that meets my needs within a reasonable price range. I am finding it surprisingly hard to find a good gaming headset that supports both wired and wireless audio as I like the convince of Wireless headsets but also like to use wired for long gaming sessions. Some of the headsets I have found so far are the Epos H3 Hybrid, which I don't particularly like as the battery is always in use, HyperX Cloud Mix, which is out of my price range and the Corsair Virtuoso which is also out of my price range. Does anyone know about any other good hybrid headsets they would recommend? TLDR: Mixed headsets are hard to find anyone know any?

Hello everyone, i want to buy a good gaming headset, i narrowed it down to Razer blackshark V2 and Corsair HS 80, I got all Corsair gaming PC though)) i just think, blackshark is wired only, if i buy HS 80, i can use it wired when i want to, or when battery dies, also i can use it wireless, i know that battery life is not that great in Corsair, but still. Please suggest something Blackshark is 68€ in french amazon Corsair HS 80 is 99€ in french amazon I also have WH1000 XM3 can u use that? it's great for music, okay with PS4 but IDK if it's enough for FPS games. If there are better models, please let me know.

HI All, I'm sort of looking into wireless headsets with mic for the office use. I don't intend to use over the ear style headset because I need to hear my surroundings as well, so probably on hear option is to go. Any suggestions what's good? I've tried using Jabra Evove 2 and some other cheap headsets but audio was disapointed. I may look Logitech Zone. Also another question is why some bluetooth headphones use hands-free mode (speaker/mic) when you connect to the Computer or Laptop? The external speakers were really bad.

I was asked to get a cheap over-ear headset for someone, something with passable audio and a decent mic. Something that isn't completely terrible. My budget is around $20-50. Some of the options I've looked at were the Razer Kraken X and HyperX Stinger Core. It'll be mainly used for online video calls and casual content consumption. I've only looked at budget gaming headsets so far since they were the only decent options I could think of. If anybody can share their experiences with these or have better recommendations it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hey, first post! Im searching for a great headset/headphone (dont necessary need a Microfon) for gaming but not a regular Gaming headset like Razer Kraken or something i am looking at Beyerdynamic or something similar. But the price shouldn't be over lets say 150-180 max. I Googled reviews but only got the typical Gaming headsets. Thanks alot!

Hi what is the ATH-GDL3 Soundstage, Imaging, Clamping-Force, breathability & comfort for glasses compared to the SHP-9500? I love my SHP-9500 but I sometimes find myself having to keep re-adjusting around my ears & head depending where I am. Also can I use any 3.5mm cable or does it have the locking-mechanism that restricts the user to use brand labelled cables like the Sennheiser HD 598? headset HI Guys's , I'm looking at getting a vr head set
dead man jack posted a topic in Peripherals
I've recently built a nice vr rig (12900k , 3080ti , 4th gen nvec ,nice mobo so it can all talk super fast to each other). My problem is im really not sure on what head set to go for . I've looked at the HP reverb 2 but it seems to have two revisions the latter having superior hardware(cameras mainly) obviously i don't wanna buy a revision 1 . I've also looked at the HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition , but that price range the primax seems like a better option . Pimax Vision 8K X , my understanding is they have a balls to the wall headset coming out late this year i can trade a pimax headset in for it's current rrp when buying the new head set through there store , once there new set is released i also considered the quest , but facebook/meta/skynet . Seems like the way to go is the primax but looking for feed back from vr users . i have a roughly 2.5*2.5M space i can play vr in . and i can attach the light house's with out too much issue. game will be shooter's , survival , adventure games (looking forward to bashing a troll to death in skyrim) , and normal desktop games if they work on virtual desktop (so i can lay back in bed and play games. and is the best contoller solution steams index's ? Thanks guy's -
tl:dr Please connect your XBOX Controller with the XBOX Wireless adapter to your PC, plug any 3.5mm jack device into it, and tell me if you audio in Halo infinite or Gears of War 5 (and possibly cyberpunk 2077) is "stuttering" or sounds "wrong" in any way. Because this issue persists for over 2 years now and no one is doing anything.... Long Version. I own a XBOX wireless adapter for my Windows 10 PC I mostly use it to connect my XBOX Controller to my PC but I did buy a Turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 a couple of month ago that also uses the XBOX Wireless adapter to connect to my PC. I didn't have any problems with my Headset until Halo infinite released.... In that game I did notice my sound was "stuttering" immensly (btw this can also be heard when I recorded the sound!) and it was really distracting. Seeing my FPS rate beeing around 70-100 performance shouldn't have been the problem, and I was right. When I plugged my Wired headset (HyperX cloud 2) into my PC and my problems were gone. I started googeling for a fix and I found out that this bug seems to be first recorded around 2020 when Gears of War 5 released so this games seems to be affected as well. Anyways I found dozens of posts with either the exact same issue or a very simmilar one if you try to use spatialaudio/dolbyatmos or anything like this. I have also created some posts on the answere.microsoft.com forum myself. But no one seems to be interested in fixing this problem, the MS Forum didn't do anything besides telling me "well we can't do anything bout it", wich was to be expected since they are mostly volunteers if I understand correctly. But several users did claim to have contacted the MS Support directly and their answere was "well we might look into that have a nice day"... since the Driver for the XBOX Wireless adapter wasn't updated since 2017 they did not... I myself wasn't able to contact the MS support yet because, and I gonne be very honest here, they don't show me the option to start a chat with an employee and I do really not have the social skills neccessary to make myself clear enough over a phone call. I am honestly a bit mad at Microsoft. I have a "XBOX Wireless certified" headset with an "XBOX Wireless adapter" and I can not play "XBOX first party games" properly? what the hell? Also no one at Microsoft seems to care about this issue like at all... Now YOU, the Community comes into play. Before I start to make a giant fuzz about all of this I would like to try and gather some additional data. So everyone who owns an XBOX Wireless adapter for PC and either a Headset that you can connect to it OR an Headset that you can Connect to your XBOX controller (so anything with a 3.5mm headphone jack) wich you then can (wierlessly) connect to your PC via the XBOX Wireless adapter. I BEG every single of you to test out if you have audio issues in Halo infinite and or Gears of war 5 (or CP2077 but for me the stuttering there is very mild but still noticeable if you know what to listen for)and tell me the please. If you want any additional informations from me feel free to ask.

Hello all, A frustrating journey I have started myself on here, I was getting sick of just digging into this constantly and trying multiple headsets... I wanted to see if anyone online had a better option! Currently I have the Arctic Pro Wireless WITHOUT the DAC, as I am using it on PC. I like the headset, other than the clamping force it has on my head. To be clear when it came out of the box I was actually pretty ticked off, Finding that audio quality and the comfort of the headset was both pretty abysmal for me. Compared to my old Corsair Voids, They had a pathetic volume level, Terrible overall audio quality, and had my ears touching the drivers, Which as NOT good. After getting Peace EQ running and adjusted, as well as some new earpads Its actually not bad. the clamping force is still an issue, but it is livable... I do love the option to have Wireless AND Bluetooth running for my phone if I am on the go or to keep it on my PC at my house. I love the flexibility of it. As well as the swappable batteries that are constantly charging one on the base station. The main issue I had with my Voids was that the batteries just kept getting worse and worse and worse every time I replace them and now it just turns off despite still having charge... So I do love the aspect of fast and easy swaps. I already had tried the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro and found the Mic was sadly just not up to par, and a constant static in the driver as well as pretty quite sound overall had me return it after only a few days. And after looking all over I just started feeling frustrated and didn't want to ship more in and return them over and over... I'm hoping to keep something with wireless and Bluetooth still. As well as something that has a decent Mic, Nothing over the top but good. And something that has a decent sound quality and volume level. I use this for gaming and work so the Mic and audio quality go hand in hand for me. I also tend to listen to a ton of music on these, Which I know is not normal. Hence my concern of audio quality. I did want to note that since I had used Corsair I was going to aim for trying the Virtuoso next, But my main concern was the earpads, I heard they are exceptionally shallow and your ears are prone to hitting the drivers, Which bugs the hell outta me... Hoping you all have some good headsets and can point me in a good direction!

I'll preface by saying I don't really understand audio formats and signals very well. The scenario I have is the following: I have a pc and a ps5, and I would like to use a single headset and I presume some sort of audio amplifier to be able to feed both audio signals into the amplifier. I don't need to be able to listen to both signals simultaneously, but I would like to be able to switch between the two seamlessly. What would you all recommend?

Hello, So to get to the point, I have an Astro a40 headset with a mixamp that I bought back in 2014 for my xbox. It worked perfectly for what I wanted but now I play PC games instead. I still use my a40 headset (just without the mixamp) and have it plugged into the "mic in" and "line out" ports with a simple splitter for anyone wondering. Now I'm trying to plug in a set of speakers as well so I can listen to audio without the headset on ALL the time. I don't want to buy a splitter or switch or have to use the front panel audio so I had an idea to use the mixamp still. What I am thinking is that I can plug the optical cord for the mixamp into the optical port on the back of the mobo for the audio out (what is essential the line out plug right now) and plug in the aux mp3 cord on the mixamp into the "mic in" port to maintain better microphone quality. This would open up my "line out" port and allow me to plug the speakers into it. Now I'm not sure if this will even work or if there is a better idea that I'm not thinking of right now (excluding front audio and buying something) and I would just like to get some advice on the idea. I have an ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero WIFI incase you would like to know exactly what's on the back panel. Thank you so much in advance!

Hello everyone. As title says i am wondering how often does a good peripheral last. The reason i am asking this is because i am thinking of changing my 4 year old Logitech G502 to a Deathadder V2 and my Ornata Destiny 2 ED to a XTRFY. They still work as they did the day i bought them but i don't know if i should wait till their "last day" (knocking wood) or buy new ones now. My budget is around 150/200 because i am also upgrading my GPU (finally) and my CPU and i thought i could also upgrade my B450 mobo TO B550 but if i end up not buying it, i can use this money for new peripherals. What do you think guys? Thank you.

So my PC has 2 separate jack for mics and for headphones. When I try to plug in my 4 pin 3.5mm headset into the headphone one, it isn't recognized by Windows and no audio plays. I've troubleshooted everything in Windows and I'm quite sure its a hardware problem. I think by buying a 2 male 1 female audio Y splitter, the headset should work. Will it though? I'm not 100% sure if that'll fix it.

I was playing a game with my friends using my Logitech G432 headset. It doesn't have a mute button so to mute myself I have to pull the mic upwards. I did that whilst in call then a few weird sounds were coming out then next minute later the microphone stopped working. Discord still recognizes the mic and audio still works but problem is whenever I talk it doesn't output sound to others.

Here Is the thing, My HyperXCloud 2 (wired) Keeps disconnecting at random times, Then Ill have to unplug and re plug it in like 20 times to get it to work anywhere from 2-10 minutes and it does it again. Here is the kicker, My roommate tried playing with it for hours and it works fine on his pc. Here is the ultimate second kicker, He has the same headset and his headset works on my pc fine. Just to have this stated, I am not willing to trade headsets with him. Any Ideas?

hi, so i need an adivce about which of these to get or something else entirely, i can go up to 450 500 bucks max. I see that the penrose, orbits and lcd 1 have huge planar drivers and just think that for this price point everything else seem unworthy to get. Sound quality is above all else for me and dont know should i even go for something like 560s which is not in the same pricing range but have gotten a recommendation for them. So im kinda in a rabbit hole and dont have a clue what to get., and will be using them mostly for gaming and listening to music. Mic would be a good thing so i guess i would prefer orbit s or penrose, but if it doesnt have a mic its not the end of the world if the sound quality is that much better on something else. I have cloud alpha s now and using a motherboard b450 gaming plus max (no DAC)

I have the headset mentioned in the title, connected via USB-c thru Plantronics BT700 Adapter. It is registered under Device Manager as "Headset Microphone" and "Headset Earphone" I think what I am looking for (comparing to my working gaming headset) is "Headphones" and "Microphone", is there any way to override this, or an alternative way to use this device for gaming? The audio works great when just playing computer audio, but the moment you try to use the Mic, (open a game, join discord) it sounds as if it is audio coming thru a phone call.
