hello, i decided to build a new pc. i had future proofing and 1000usd pc in my mind. take a look and share any suggestions specially for gpu. also i am from india so give a couple of substitutes for availability. i want to play some games like batman arkham knight, cod, similar games. 1080p at mid to high settings is my niche. as i said a future proof build is prefered. also suggest any other cheaper components at similar performance. i am using the hdd from my old pc and the optical drive as well. i am not buying the peripherals no(hopefully i may get the keyboard from lmg). also the total cost is 1000usd after conversion in my country so because of the taxes the actual price may vary elsewhere. the specs are:- cpu- intel core i5 6600k gpu- nvidia gtx 960(asus strix 4gb oc) mobo- asus z170a ram-8gb corsair vengeance LPX 2400Mhz c16 case-Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 Mid-Tower cooler-cooler master hyper 212x psu-corsair CX600M i have not built the rig yet so if there are suggestions share them fast. thank you. If possible try to check the availability on Amazon. In or Amazon. Co.UK with India delivery

Here are my specs, CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K Quad Core Processor, 3400 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) GPU: AMD R9 200 Series RAM: 2X 4GB Corsair Vengeance = 8 GB Total OS: W10 Home I want to really start playing CSGO like it was meant to be played, 144hz, so I ordered the good ol', BenQ 144hz 1080p 27 inch monitor, which is great, the only issue is is that my pc currently runs avg of 130 fps right now on low settings, So I want to order a GTX960 In hopes to bring it to 250+ FPS for a smoother experience, does this purchase make sense? And if so, do I need to worry about any bottle-necking/ choke-points? Thanks, -Crunchynmilk

Hey guys, I am planning to buy a graphics card and i am interested in playing only story mode (ULTRA 1080p) of games like witcher3, gta V etc smoothly. I would love to wait for gtx 1070 but i am in a hurry as i can only play in the coming 2 months. Will gtx 960 be a good buy or should i go in for gtx 970 considering the fact i have only 2 months to play? EDIT 1: i currently have zotac gtx 650 ti 2gb EDIT 2: is the r9 390 a significant improvemant than gtx 960?

I have an EVGA GTX 960 SSC 4gb. From what I read, I would have to run Doom (2016) on medium-low settings to maintain 60 fps. I am getting 75 fps pretty solid, with lows around 60 and highs of 90+ as seen in the screen shots I posted. I don't have my GPU-Z statistics on hand, but I know I have my core clocks at 1564mhz completely stable, I forget what I have the memory clocks at. Basically, this card is beast mode, out performing the average gtx 970. Why do so many people hate the 960 again?

Hi, I want buy a new monitor, because I used to be gaming on a tv, but it's now gone. I play Battlefield 4, GTA V (LSPDFR mods), Rocket League, Cities Skylines and Euro Truck Simulator 2. I want buy Battlefield 1 and Mirror's Edge Catalyst. This is my PC specs: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 2.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($179.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus H170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($109.99 @ Micro Center) Memory: Corsair 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($17.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($17.98 @ Newegg) Storage: Crucial BX100 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($65.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card ($204.99 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $621.71 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-06-17 05:37 EDT-0400 I saw AOC G2460VQ6 on Alternate Netherlands. With the monitor there is a mice of Gamias and a half year subscription of a gaming megazine. Is this a good deal? I am dealing with the refresh rate, I want 144hz, but on my current GPU is that almmost not possible.

So, since I am not so good in English, I can't really find info specifically for my problem. So I will build a PC really soon, so I was told to put at least one more cooler in my case, since I have only one, which came with the case.. My case is CM force 251. Things I will put in this case: CPU: i5-4590 GPU : MSI's GTX 960 4gb / upcoming rx 480 (Don't tell me anything about gtx 960, I know it's a bad deal, but for me - it's perfect) PSU : Fractal Design Edison M 550w And other parts, that are not associated in heat producing (except hard drives and solid state drives) So, the question is, what do I need to do, ( I will not buy fans that cost 10$+ ) to keep pc temps running nice and (kinda) cool. Will 2 coolers be okay? What component generates the most heat? Really look forward to your suggestions *The Image I added is kinda understandable, but I need info about how to do it the best way possible.

Hello everyone!!! Just thought I would post this here so that none of you fall for these. Recently some people have been modding the bios on old GTX 560s to make them look like GTX 960s in CPU-Z. However, can't fake shading units, which most of these show around 336, which is incorrect for the GTX 960, they have 1024 shading units. So please be very careful when buying GPUs on both eBay and Amazon. Here are some of the examples I came across: Example 1 eBay Example 2 eBay Example 3 eBay Example 4 Amazon

Hi everyone recently I bought a GTX 960 FTW+ 4GB and decided to overclock it. I did some research on how to overclock and look for some values to aim while doing my overclock, but I know that every card may vary and it become all a matter of luck and i ended up having this results: Clock Increase Memory Increase Voltage Increase GPU BOOST Temp°C Volt Stock 0 0 0 1417 Stable 40 0 0 1457 70 1.212 Stable 40 500 0 1457 78 1.212 Stable 40 500 25 1470 78 1.231 Stable 40 500 50 1482 78 1.256 Stable 40 250 100 1482 77 1.256 Stable 40 500 100 1482 78 1.256 Crash 50 500 100 1492 78 I used EVGA precision to overclock, 3D mark firestrike to benchmark and GPU-Z data log to get the values on this table while running the benchmark (each representig the maximum value for the category) I know that the temperatures are a bit high but right now on my country we are going through summer and the temps on my room are around the 32°C or 90°F so take that in consideration. So after all this I got some questions since is my first time overclocking and because the info for this card varies a lot so this are my questions: 1. Which overclock would you recommend to have on my system (just a gaming system no video rendering or streaming)? 2. Are those voltages too high? (Specially the 1.256) if you want to see more data i got all the logs and I will happily share them with you. Thanks for your help

Hey guys, when Pascal will be released I plan on getting a second (maybe used) GTX 960 (I currently have a Gigabyte OC Windforce 4gb) to run SLI. I actually like Gigabyte cards and would like to pick up a G1 Gaming 4gb version if I get it for a decent price. My problem: On my PSU I only have a 6+2 pin connector left but the G1 card needs 2x 6pin (for whatever reason, my current GTX 960 needs just one of them and is overclocked). I once heard about Molex to pcie adapters (I have 3 Molex connectors left on the PSU). BTW I have a Corsair VS650 (I know it's not the greatest PSU...). My first question: Should I use them or are they risky in any way? Second question: Should I just get a Molex to 4pin or is there anything wrong with that? Already thanks to all of you

i can also get gtx 970. but i may get bottleneck?

So I'm building a new PC for myself. It's going to be my second build, which I'm very excited about. After some looking, comparing and checking I got this part list:Mobo: ASRock Z87 Extreme3CPU: Intel Core i7 4790KCooler: Noctua NH-L9x65RAM : Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHzGPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 2GB WindforceHDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GBPSU: NZXT HALE82 550WThis build will be used mainly for programming and some gaming. The most demanding game I play is World of Warcraft, but I really want to play it with 60fps+ on highest settings. I'm looking for some opinions on this and possibly suggestions for better parts in pretty much the same price range.

Yesterday I found an old Piont Of View 9600gt. I tried running it in my second pci-e slot with my 960 in the first. Everything was good until the nvidia drivers detected the 9600gt as my primary gpu and didn't recognise my gtx960 at all. The only fix I could come up with was uninstalling the 9600gt and reinstall the drivers. When I would put the 9600gt back in everything would happen again. How do I fix this? (btw I was trying to use the 9600gt for acceleration for sony vegas)

I got a GTX 960 Asus LOL version (Only available in China. I will post a link and it will lead you to the page introducing the GPU) for a really good price. However, the cooling literally sucks. It is super loud, and the idle is 37 degrees celcius and 86 degrees celcius about 80-90 percent load... I have tried to clean it and install a new thermal compund, but did not work. So, I want to install a GTX 960 strix cooler on it, and I can get it on TAOBAO, a chinese magical websites which sells literally EVERYTHING. It is about 10 us dollars. The PCB is 242mm and it is longer than the Strix cooler. Do any of you think it will work, if I get a strix cooler and install it on?? Thank you! http://www.asus.com.cn/Graphics-Cards/GTX960DC2OC2GD5/ I am sorry it is in Chinese

So, this will be my first custom pc, so I wanted to do it properly and very safe. CPU: i5-4570 / i5-4590 ( Can't really decide ) Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 mATX Ram: Any brand with pair of 4gb Ram modules (2x4gb) GPU: MSI GTX960 4gb model HDD: WD caviar blue 1tb PSU: Fractal Design Edison M 550w Case: Cooler Master Force 251 So, things I wan't you to help me out a bit. 1) Which one of those CPU's? 2) Is it worth it buying an ssd first, and buy this HDD later? (SSD as an boot drive and some extra memory) 3) Is this build even looking good? My budget is about 700 EUR ( 700.00 EUR = 781.69 USD ; 700.00 EUR = 1,034.69 CAD - if that helps) Thank you for taking your time on this post! Note: I am really down for this psu, so I won't probably change my mind on that one.

Looking for GPU suggestions. I've recently installed an SSD which conveniently came with AC Syndicate, my GTX 560 (2GB) handled it for awhile, but now it keeps crashing out (And I played through AC-Black Flag since I was hooked). My system is older, Intel Core I5-2500k (3.30 GHZ/6MB L3 Cache), 8 Gb DDR3 1600 ram. I'm looking at the future, and don't expect to have this computer for more than a few years, so I don't want to dump a bunch of money into it, but still want to play AC-Syndicate (I am willing to play at lower performance settings). I've been looking at the GTX 960 4gb ram (~$210), is this a good call? The R9 380 is another option, however after reading about issues with drivers I'm avoiding it, even though it's performance is slightly better?

So, I have my GTX 960 clocked to 1550mhz and tested it by running fallout 4 for 5 hours with zero issues. Max temp I've seen is 56c. However I later tried running furmark and got a near immediate driver crash. knocked it down to 1510mhz and same thing, 1480mhz same thing. The card boosts up to 1436mhz on it's own which works fine in furmark, but applying any amount of overclock leads to crashes in furmark even though I see no issues in games. Any ideas what could be the cause?

My brother built a budget rig with new parts, but used his old 500w (cheapo) PSU which failed and took the motherboard with it. The mobo has since been replaced along with a new Corsair HX650 and the rig boots fine. However, after a random interval the screen goes black and a hard reset is required to get it back. The interval can be anywhere from 15mins to an hour. Does this sound like the previous PSU failure damaged the GPU as well? Specs: CPU: AMD A10 7700K APU MB: Asus A68HM-Plus GPU: 2GB GTX 960 RAM: Corsair 4GB Vengeance PSU: Corsair HX650
