I very much dislike the super series and I refuse to buy them. Obvously my opinion I'm sure it worked out great for other people. I'm running sli 980ti which work great but I'll prob upgrade or simply build a new computer next year and im wanting to wait to buy the new series. But I cant find any information on them. Which doesnt suprise me since I dont think they come out till mid year. Does anyone have information if they will do a new line of cards or some stupid increase again? I was planning to make a budget gaming PC that can still play pretty intense games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and I was wondering if I wanted an rx570 or 580 both 4gb. Is the difference that big to prefer one over the other?

Problem 1:I have been noticing a lot of screen tearing lately. I don't know if it was there before, but recently I see it everywhere. In games, YouTube videos. The most I experience it in is Geometry Dash. (Both with Vsync on and off) Its really annoying.Problem 2:I had GTA 5 on Social Club and used to play it at around High settings and I got around 60 FPS(Even upto 100 inside houses). I recently bought it on Steam and now when I play it, I get only around 40 FPS(Same settings). And sometimes frames jump upto 50 to 60 FPS and back to 40.(In the same area), and never over 60 FPS(Vsync is off though). I changed the resolution to 800x600. And still 40 FPS. I don't know why this is happening. My specs:i3 41608 GB RAMGTX 1050 Ti60 Hz monitorHappy New Year!!

As topic, I am upgrading my system, my old Zotec GTX 1060 has been struggling for 15 months, the new 1060 6G with GDDR5X memory seems to be a good deal. But i am still hesitating. I play 3A single player games like Assassin's Creed, COD.....I need some help making the dicision. so pros and cons: Pro: 1, not that expensive; 2, a reasonable improvement on performance Con: 1, very small performance improvement 2, the only GDDR5x (in my country) comes with Galax, a brand i am not familiar with I am also considering 1070, but what is the point of choosing 1070 while 2070 is out? 2070 is above my budget. I am hoping this card can run cyberpunk 2077, as least 30fps on middle settings with 1080p ultrawide. or maybe I should hold my old 1060 3G until cyberpunk 2077 is out.... ideas

The get me worried os due to rtx failures had is seen in forums and in youtube so it got me worried even its aib card some will have issues too like the youtuber joker productions and his gigabyte rtx 2070 and my fellow gamer friend has issue with his zotac rtx 2080 amp. So should i buy the rtx 2080,? If not should i get 1080 ti ?but the problem is in my country asus strix 1080ti is out of stock in every stores and they have only the ugly ones like the msi duke that doset any rgb and it will comprimise the aestetic of my asus theme build and the only thing left is the second hand market and its risky. I got a used GTX 1080 Ti on Craigslist a while back and worked fine for a couple months but then it just refused to turn on one day. The PC just wouldn't turn on so I started switching out parts and eventually when I swapped out the 1080 ti, it magically turned on with not problem. I took apart the card to search for any clues on what could cause this and there appeared to be a burnt area on the PCB, the area was blackened and one of the small chips had a white, solid substance spewing from it. So I promptly reassembled it and created an RMA request and sent in my card and waited a month with the only communication from Gigabyte being an email for the shipping label and another letting me know they received my card. After a month, I got an email saying they denied the request due to physical damage and included a photograph which showed the burnt PCB and that they already shipped the card back so I couldn't contest it. I tried calling them and probably waited on the line for a combined ten hours over a period of a week trying to get someone on the line so I could sort this out. They had an option where they would call you back but after choosing that option and not receiving any calls for several days, I just choose to stay on the line for a few hours each day until their call centers closed. I got my card back later that week better packaging than I shipped it with but the piece of paper inside stated that the GPU did not match their records so I had two wildly different reasons for the denial. I got ahold of them that same day and the customer service guy was 10/10 and transferred me to tech support where they told me that the product was fraudulent as the SN didn't match their records. I confirmed the GPU when I first got it with task manager and Nvidia Control Panel which showed a Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC which checked out but I never took a screenshot of it. I opened up the GPU again and the internal hardware seems legit. The actual GPU is a GP102-350-K1-A1, the cooler is the beefy white, triple-fan shroud, there are 11 memory chips with an empty slot, the power connector is a 6x8 which checks out with the specific model, and the output ports are all correct as well. If the card is a fake, it is the best fake I have ever seen or heard of and with the amount of effort put into it, it would have probably been cheaper and taken less effort to flip legit 1080's on Ebay or Craigslist. I have not idea how the SN can be fake since it doesn't make any sense for the stickers on the card to be fake while the rest is legit. So I guess my question now is, what actions can I take to convince Gigabyte to RMA my card? Do I just eat the cost and save up for a new GPU?

I'm not sure what to do with my 2060 now because the 3060 is rumored to be as fast a a 2080 super but probably around the 2080 average. anyway I'm not sure if I should sell my card even tho I probably couldn't get as much or should I wait for the 3060 but if Nvidia was telling the truth about the 3060 levels of performance, my 2060 wouldn't even be worth selling.

Hello, thank you for clicking on my topic and maybe deciding to help, I´m having a little issue with my 2 1080Ti´s that are running in SLI when I try to play Destiny 2. When I´m usually playing I get around 50 to 75 fps on average, which is weird, because thats almost the same back when I only had one 1080Ti. I looked for the issue and saw that while being on a more hard to render planet, I only used 50 to 60% of my GPU´s while averaging around 60 Fps. I thought my settings were wrong or my SLI wasn´t even activated, but that just wasn´t the case. Then I tested it in Battlefield 4 and everything was great, both graphic cards were almost all the time at 85 to 95% usage. Is there a known error in destiny 2 when it has to deal with an SLI setup or is there a way I need to change some settings or fucked something up. Thank you for reading and helping me out if you are able to

Hello! I'm NightLunya, new on LTT forums. So, I'm currently studying a way to renew some hardware in my current NPO. Basically, I'm holding a small NPO with goes in manga/anime exhibitions with games and we hold booths there. If you wonder what kind of games we are running: we display Touhou Project games (and fangames about this universe) Currently, we bought several used laptops to let public playing the games freely, but we bought used one like 5 years ago. Time goes on, some start to fail but the newer games are just now asking for more ressources, which those PC can't hold anymore (and or just start to break because of their old age) So, we've started to look at 3 solutions: - Trying to set a partnership with a manufacturer as sponsor and use our booths to show their products as well (I might post another topic here to ask your advices about how to deal with sponsorship, as I would be excited to work this way instead) - Renew with used laptops, but newer gen (our current way, but we only replace the broken one to maintain our minimum quota) - Using our old laptops as "thin client" and setup a centralized server for VM gaming. This is the 3rd solution we're going to talk about here. Whatever the solution to take, we run in a very low budget and although our booth is recognized/allowed by the game dev, as it's all into "doujin" spirit, we don't have sponsorship funds about it. So this is something we can't miss at the moment. Also we live in a country which taking older computer parts in the shops or recycle parcs is stricltly forbidden, unless you are a charity NPO like Oxfam etc.... which is not our case. And the large offices which renew their IT infrastructure doesn't either give away, or if they so, it's to the organism which then redistributes to the charity stuff, etc. So, getting older hardware for free is not really possible (and you know, offices doesn't usually have computer with dedicated GPU, most of the case) Anyway, so one of the 3 solutions is to setup a gaming VM server. Now, here's my theory. I've heard that sharing GPU into several VM isn't possible except using specific cards using SR-IOV technology (basically only a few AMD FirePro does have it, or the Radeon Pro Duo, which is way out of reach) or paying a license and use Nvidia Tesla graphic cards (not even Quadro support this, I think, and as you expect, out of reach either). An alternative way might be to use PCIe passthrought but i'm not sure if it's applicable on VM. - If so, how does it works and could it be used to set one GPU on several VMs? So, we finally found that the only viable solution (for now) is using 1 graphic card by VM. First, this: - Using Bi-GPU graphic cards (like R9 285 X2 or Nvidia equivalent): is it able to set only one of the two GPU by VM? As I heard, splitting GPU resources isn't possible due to PCIe allocation (unless SR-IOV). As the Bi-GPU still on one PCIe, I don't know if this limitation still applies. My goal is to have as many VM as possible (our ideal goal is 16, but our minimum is 8]. Not many peoples still care that much about those GPU nowadays so I guess it's possible to get ones for cheap enough nowadays. Also, as you might noticed, we are focused on budget and VM. Actually no physical input except network will be plugged in the server (or only basic stuff for monitoring) As the games requires more ressources but still are low specs required, we won't need a super high hardware requirement (The laptop are basically Vista-era, some are Vista-capable. But it's all entry-tier 10 years old PC at least, half of them are running in integrated board, the other have low-entry dedicated graphics) I've seen about LTT's video about using Mining graphic card, with modded drivers, being allowed to game with passing through the Integrated GPU of the processor. But in our case, this would be used in a VM instead. As those will be used in VM, I don't care about the missing I/O panel. So - Is it possible to use mining, I/O less GPU (which are very cheap compared to standard ones) to use as dedicated GPU, usable in gaming, in VM, with the modded drivers? The P106-100 is clearly enough for our needs (the current used GPU used ingame are usually Geforce GT210 era or something like that, so a GTX 1060-equivalent is clearly good enough) and maybe I'll contribute to give them a proper second life and avoid e-waste If yes, then my plan is to basically setup a server with dual socket CPU, set up like 2x8 CPU core /2x16 CPU thread (like old Ivy Bridge or Haswell CPU servers, those are still capable and cheap enough), set up like 48 or 64 GB of RAM and then use all the PCIe x16 lines available (I've seen motherboard with 7 or 8 PCIe x16) and setup a GPU in each of them. The VM will be set with 2 cores/4 threads, 3 or 4 GB of RAM and the dedicated graphic cards, which will be plenty enough. The server will be in LAN, no Internet (or only for update stuff), so we can setup a Gigabit (or 10 Gbps?) router. We plan to setup 8 VM minimum. - Minimum requirements for the laptop to be used as thin client ? (because if our old laptops aren't enough to handle this, then there is almost no point to make this project) - Which storage will I need ? Will SSD mandatory or can we run with HDD in (soft)RAID ? (we expect to use not more than 128 Go per VM) - Which bandwitch will I need to transfer all data needed to be used in VM (display won't exceed 720p or 900p at 60fps) ? (I expect the motherboard to have 4 integrated Gigabit Ethernet, will it be enough?) I heard that even a Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) would be enough per client, as everything except input and display will be managed on the server. But I expect a Gigabit will be mandatory. - Recommended hypervisor OS ? (Windows OS will be used for the VM) Oh and in overall: - Is this project totally stupid ? If yes, what are your alternatives ? - Did I missed critical problem about delay, realistic project, or am I just thinking wrong about it ? If in case we plan to launch the project, I'll make sure to take lots of pictures or even videos and throw at you Thank you very much.

Gtx 980 vs Gtx 1080 | | Used graphic cards in India.
dragondonut123 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I’m upgrading my pc in India but don’t want to buy new hardware due to money restrictions. Current specs: Intel i7 7700 GTX 1050ti 16gb 2666mhz RAM I was looking for used GPUs and found an ASUS strix OC GTX 980 for 9,500 INR (~125 USD) in great condition. Price wise it’s the best deal on the market right now but I’m really confused about it handling modern titles and being future proof. The games I’m looking to play are: Call of duty: Cold War Fortnite Cyberpunk 2077 Light open world games like GTA V All games on 1080p My other option is a used GTX 1080 for more than twice the price (~ 300 USD ) Also, I can’t buy new hardware because the price In India is so high. For example: The new RTX 3070 is launching in India for almost $700! Is it worth spending more money for the 1080 or to buy the 980 and upgrade the cpu and motherboard instead? I can also buy the 980 now and when I have access to more money later, buy a used 2070 or the 3070 If it’s cheaper then. Side note: I also want to get into VR this year, so VR support is also pretty important. Any advice is appreciated!- 4 replies

Ok, so i've been using my graphics card (Gtx 1050Ti Dual from ASUS) and the problem is my pc keeps shutting down when the temps reach 75 Celsius, also i don't know if it's the GPU but idk if it's the GPU or my HDD, like only happen when i'm playing in a long session (or sometimes in one hour but in overwatch, the last time i was in ranked and check gpu temps and it was 71 probably shutted down at 70~75 Celsius.... But i don't think it was the HDD, also when the pc shuts down first freezes and sound weird... and then it shuts down.
