So I am thinking of starting to make gaming videos and stream games on twitch. I am looking to get pretty serious into this (3-4 times a week) and I wanted to know what you guys have seen or would like to see in current twitch streams. What makes a quality stream and keeps you watching? What makes you interested in subscribing to there stream? I have some other ideas I have to kind of separate myself from the pack like involving the gamers in playing with me and giving out in game rewards as well. I am looking for some feedback to help build on what I have gathered for experience watching and learning from other streamers. Greatly appreciated, Alex

So I've been rolling with this office chair that was a hand-me-down from my dad's old workplace and recently I have been experiencing some tense muscles after sitting in that chair for a long period of time. I was wondering if there are any comfortable office chairs that you might recommend for an intense gamer/internet surfer. I normally sit in that chair for about 8-9 hours each day; sometimes even longer on the weekends. I'd also prefer if you'd leave links to any retailers that may have said chair, so that I might be able to try it out before I make my decision. Thanks in advance!

Chinese website ZOL showed off a few pics of a new Asus motherboard named "B85-Pro Gamer". This board is from a new series of motherboards called "Gamer". Although this Gamer series motherboards are targeted for "mainstream gamers", standalone from the ROG line of motherboards, which Asus is branded for "Premium and Hardcore gamers", it follows ROG's red and black color scheme. No info on pricing and availability, yet

So, move the topic as you want moderators if you think this is in the wrong section of the forum, but I was noticing people making clans, adding servers and having so much fun while doing it while their community grows bigger and bigger each day, since i couldn't find any clan related stuff on the forums even with google search, i thinked, well, why not to make a clan? Some people like me would like to donate, build and maintain server, think about it, we could expand Linus Tech Tips community itself. It is new, it is awesome, and would be a good upgrade to the forums, especially when the official LTT portal comes in. Our tag ingame should be [LTT] or /LTT/. You can agree on that below this post, or we could even make subclans that have different names, tags, but are directly related to the forums, or actually, directly linking other people's clans to the forums (if they agree to co-operate ofcourse) We could have Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 2, and Minecraft server in the beggining, expenses wouldn't be big, arround 16 players on cod with 4-5 best maps, and some minecraft plugins, i remember adcraft, it displays ad's on your server and just pays itself, we could have a dedicated subforum for the servers, and as our clan grows, we could expand our server, i know, i know, it is just idea. But if we try, we could make this work. What do you think guys?

hey guys, i was wondering if any of you out there has the samsung series 7 gamer (np700g7c), and has done a tear-down of it... lately even on stock clocks the temps have reached a max or around 75-80 Celsius and this is nearly 10 Celsius more than when i first had it, so i was wondering since it isnt sealed, if i could do a teardown and possibly replace the thermal paste/ remove the dust... ive already tried but it isnt very straight forward and the furthest i got was removing the keyboard...

Okay, I need help figuring something out. I will be building a PC sometime this year and using it to start a Youtube gaming channel (yeah I know there are already thousands of them). I need a capture card that will be able to capture not just PC gaming, but consoles as well. I went with a Avermedia Live Gamer HD card but after watching Linus's review on it on NCIX, Its left me with a question. Can I connect all my devices to the card using an HDMI splitter or will I have to switch them out manually when I want to play on a different device? I'm kind of lazy so I would like to have all my devices already connected so that all I would have to do is just turn them on and record. Can I use this card or do I have to find something else? Any input on this would help me out greatly. Thanks.

Ok so I just got a Live Gamer HD today, and much to my suprise, it sucks. I need help fast When I go to use my card as a hardware encoder (main reason I bought it), it won't let me use it as a cam i Xsplit I removed that and added my game as the source I did a test vid and I got audio out of the game, using the HDMI passthru on the card, but the video has NO sound! PLEASE help as I need to stream ASAP!!

Hi guys, I am planning to water cool (or begin to assemble the parts) after the 9970 drops in October-ish and I purchase that. I want this build to be beautiful. I also want it to be high quality, so I will not cheap out on anything. Water cooling starts at the "Other" parts. So,

Hi guys. If you want to skip the boring bit, go down to where my future rig components list is A little introduction to me: I've been into computer for a good few years, and now being 18, I have a job (Actually 2!) and so I'm earning more then just pocket money and allowance! As of recent (Summer 2013), I've been buying various things towards my end accomplishment of having a whole set-up to be proud of. Now, by no means am I loaded enough to buy all the parts outright. That would be awesome, but totally impossible as I don't have the funds, and my girlfriend isn't helping on that front! So like previously stated, I've been buying my part by part. In fact, the origins of my current computer come from my first ever build! I'm currently at College studying Maths and Physics in my third year, I have a part-time job as a Shelf stacker, and another part-time job as an IT technician at a private school. Original Build list (Summer 2012): - AMD FX-6100 3.3Ghz - Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 Pro - Asus M5A97 AM3+ - Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB @ 1333Mhz - Sapphire 5450 1GB - WD Blue 500GB - 650W Unbranded PSU - Inwin Maelstrom Full Tower Case - Windows 7 64 Bit AMD FX6100 CPU M5A97 Mobo Sapphire HD5450 1GB Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB Inwin Maelstrom Case So I started with this, and in my defence, this is when I wasn't earning alot of money. This was capable of playing the infamous RuneScape, and the more famous Minecraft. Since then I've wanted more and more power to play better games, like the BF series, Grid etc etc. Due to this, I bought better components after putting this rig together, even from as short of a time as 1 month after the rig was assembled. Additions to the build a few months after it was assembled: - Sapphire 7850 2GB (Overclocked to 925Mhz/1270Mhz) - TherMax Spire II w/ 2 Stock fans - Powercool 800W dual rail PSU HD7850 TherMax CPU cooler The GPU and CPU cooler are both still currently in my rig. However the PSU only lasted a week or so. It had received bad reviews, but it was very cheap for the Wattage. I was still pretty naive at this age, and preferred price over branding. I'm quiet opposite now! I ended up returning the Powercool PSU and returning back to the Gold PSU. The CPU cooler did mean however, that I could use the inbuilt overclocking to push my CPU to 3.6Ghz After a trip to my home country of Scotland, I was able to get a Corsair CX750M PSU discounted due to a friend working at an electronics store. This finally meant that after months of running on a risky unbranded Gold PSU, I could finally go with a trusted brand. This was quickly installed. About a week later I received my Soundblaster 3D Recon PCI-e card and the 5.1 Logitech sound system. I also got my Roccat Kova[+] with this delivery too It was around this time when I started earning decent enough money to start upgrading components in a quicker fashion then the year before, as all the components listed after this were bought in 2013. First on my list was a monitor, this is because I had been running my computer off of a 19" 1080i TV, so I had been wanting to upgrade this alot! I upgraded to the Acer S240HLbid 24" monitor. Around the same point in time I also ordered my 500Mbps TP-Link Powerline adapters due to really bad wifi reception in my bedroom. A good investment! The Summer of 2013 marked the upgrading of my rig. This is when I started upgrading old components of my rig in the vision of my "new" rig. So I ordered the Fractal Design R4 w/ Window, Samsung 840 120GB SSD and a few bits and bobs so that I could make the case work, such as a PCI-e USB 3 adapter, a 3rd fan and a sleeved molex extension cable. This order was spurred on by the fact I had to move to a significantly smaller room, so wanted to upgrade the computer in the bedroom which had more room. Shortly after moving into the new, small and sauna like room (really small so heats up due to my PC really quickly!); I decided to upgrade from my old turtlebeach x12s after receiving complaints from Skype friends about them being too open. So I decided, after much debate, to go for the Razer Kraken Pro Black. I love the functionality of this headset and so would recommend it to anyone Under recommendation, and hardcore linus stalkers will be laughing now, I also bought a steelseries QCK-mass mouse mat. Good mouse mat. Since I was about 12, I had used multiple computers, but only ever one chair. I've made a mark on the chair. No literally, a mark. It must've been from when I came in with blue jeans after a rainy day and just sat down, as a good amount of the chair was just blue! LOL! Due to this wooden chair, and learning about Health and Safety from College ICT classes, I decided to get an office chair. This was a risk though as there is about 2ft between my desk and my Bed due to size limitations! Regardless, I bought it and I'm now making it work! The last upgrade I have to talk about is the Microsoft sidewinder x4 which I bought to temporarily replace my old, worn out Microsoft wireless 2000. Now with all the story out of the way, my future rig specs. *Insert epic name for a rig here*: - i7 4770k @ 4.5Ghz (Hopefully!) - H100i - Maximus VI Hero - EVGA 780 SC ACX / XXXX R9-290X - Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8GB @ 1800Mhz~ - Samsung Pro 512GB SSD / 500GB SSD / 2TB HDD - Windows 8 64 Bit The end result of this rig is for future proofing (that's why I've chosen the i7 over the i5), and for some epic gaming! If you have any suggestions or any ideas about what I can do with my rig, I'll add your suggestion to the list below if I like it, and it may be a possible addition to my rig in the future! Member Suggestions: - "i5 CPU with smaller SSD and a cheaper mobo" suggested by JORDANonPC & Nicktrance - 2TB HDD instead of SSD suggested by JORDANonPC Thanks for reading !

Hey guys! Time has come,I'm planning to assemble my first custom gamer PC. My 5 years old faithful PC will go to retirement. Actually my budget is lmited to about 550$ and it would grow really slowly,I'd need probably a year to reach 1000$ while my old PC is starts to get really obsolete. After spending hours of research I think I've found a really nice low budget gamer PC and this config tops my budget too,I didn't really find better ones for acceptable money. So I'd like to ask your opinion about my planned config. The price would be in Hungarian Forints,in local prices but I'll change them to $. Please tell me if you recommend a better component but please keep in mind that I can't really go above 550$. So this would be it: Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme 4 ~95$ CPU: AMD FX-6350 3,9GHz ~130$ Graphics Card: Inno3D GeForce GTX 650ti Boost 2GB DDR5 ~115$ RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) DDR5 Corsair Vengenance 1866MHz CL9 (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9B) ~102$ HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 7200rpm 64MB SATAIII ~58$ Case: Zalman Z3 Plus White ~59$ PSU: FSP Hexa 500W (I would remove this from my old PC) CPU Cooling: Arctic Alpine 64 pro Rev. 2 (I would remove this from my old PC) My current PC: Motherboard: ASRock M3A790GXH/128M CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition 3,2GHz unlocked to AMD Phenom II X4 B55 Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 5750 1GB DDR 5 RAM: 4GB (2X2GB) DDR3 ADATA XPG Gaming v2.0 Series 1600MHz HDD: 500GB Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKS 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Case: I don't know,it's black and ugly. +the PSU and CPU cooling mentioned above. Runs Windows 8.1 Pro x64. So what do you think? Would this be a good upgrade for so much money or do you have better ideas? Maybe I shoud replace the FX with a A series? I will be grateful for any help you can provide. Thank you! specialistHUN (Gyuri)

780Ti HOF Gamer Series OK looking at the new series of graphics cards, it looks terrible. I mean, looking at the heat sink, it looks awful to me. It's just a plain heat sink with only a few heat pipes. I really don't like it. PURPLE FANS and BLUE PCB *BLEEAAGGHHH*

Hey guys I'm planning on livestreaming and I'm thinking of grabbing an Avermedia Live Gamer HD would you guys say it's worth it? my goal is to livestream without it effecting game-play Another question, if i get a 1440p monitor, can I stream in 1080p? (if I get it) I have an i5 3570k at 4ghz and frames still fluctuate (I noticed the overclock did help but not enough)

I had a PC. It was a custom PC, my dad bought it from a local system integrator. It costed my dad 1000 MYR (311 USD). It was great for gaming at that time but over the years it became weak in performing such tasks. So, I ditched the PC for gaming and bought myself a PS3 slim. I modded the PC, nothing extreme just mounted a fan, overclocked the CPU, GPU, etc for fun. The PS3 was great for gaming until now I realised I missed having a PC. I missed going through modding games, fixing crashes, fixing bugs and the keyboard and mouse. I want a new system for gaming, editing and I am a heavy multitasker. I managed to rake up 4000 MYR (1300 USD) for a new rig. I learnt a lot from videos, forums and picked out the parts according to my needs. Here are the parts that I am going to get and the corresponding prices: AMD FX 8350 I wanted the FX 8320 but the local retailer only have the FX 8350. They said that FX 8320's are replaced by FX 8350's at the FX 8320's price. ASUS M5A99X Evo R2.0 I think this board is the board to get if you want a budget system with AMD processors. The 990FXA-UD3 lacks a few features that I really want on the ASUS board. Kingston HyperX Genesis 4GB X 2 I think 8GB of RAM is okay at the moment. I can always add more to 16GB in the future. Sapphire R9 270 with BF 4 I was sceptical going with this card because the R9 290 is really awesome but If I went with the 290 I will less money to spend on storage, Case and PSU. So, I sticked with the R9 270. Kingston SSDVnow 300 120GB For OS and some applications only. I already have a 1TB external HDD. I can always add more storage. Cooler Master V700 I want a PSU that I can trust for a long time. This one comes with a 5 year warranty and it's got good reviews. Cooler Master HAF XB This was the hardest choice to make. I wanted something portable, looks good, well thought out and unique. I wanted to go Prodigy M and an Intel system but I will be losing 4 vital CPU "cores". So, I went the HAF XB. Viewsonic VX2370Smh-led IPS Panel, Small Bezel, "Affordable", Saw it in person the other day, Its really great. Need I say more? Logitech G602 I wanted a wireless mouse and a practical one too. I don't want a laser sensor but I want programmable keys. Of course Logitech is the way to go. CM Storm Quickfire TK Brown Switches A good once again "affordable" keyboard with backlight. I chose brown switches because I wanted tactile feedback but not too much noise just in case my room mate or my family loses their minds. Now I am just waiting for all my parts to arrive. (takes deep breath) EDIT: This was the plan but like every other plan there are slight changes. I actually bought these parts: Intel 4670K MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Corsair Vengeance Pro 2X4GB Sapphire R9 270 Cooler Master CM690III Cooler Master V700 Logitech G602 Cooler Master Quickfire TK Brown Switches Razer Goliathus Speed Edition Extended Sony Pulse Elite Edition AOC I2269VMW 21.5" IPS Monitor Intel 530 Series 120GB SSD These changes are because It was hard finding parts that I originally wanted. Anyways, I plan to do lots of upgrades to this PC in the future and parts can be rotated since I have two PC's.

hello guys just new to the forum was just looking for some advice on building my first pc would like to do some gaming, such as metro last light, cod ghosts, starcraft and some light video and photo editing also some overclocking my budget is 1200 canadian I have a keyboard and mouse and my monitor is my tv any suggestions are appreciated

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forums. I basically signed up for this specifically as I thought this community might be the best to help me out with some advice. I have build a couple of gaming PCs in the past and for the most part was happy with my choices but I am by no means an expert and since this is going to be my most expensive setup (by far) yet I would really appreciate your feedback and any suggestions for which parts I should include in my setup. Budget (including currency): 3.500 - 4.000 EUR Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games, Games, Games - purpose of this PC will be mainly for gaming and some very light office app usage from time to time but 99% gaming for new and upcoming games such as: Total War Warhammer III, Elden Ring, Dying Light 2 and so on. Current Rig CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 1700 @3.4 Ghz Motherboard - MSI X370 Gaming Pro RAM - 16GB RAM GPU - KFA2 GTX 1080 EXOC Case - Fractal Design Define S Reasoning and Goal: The reason why I want to build something new is mainly because my 1080 seems to be slowly breaking down. There is various troubleshooting that I have done and I am still doing, no need to further elaborate on that end. Let's just say that I feel like I am reaching the limit of my current setup and I am planning to gift my current PC to my younger brother and move on to something newer and more powerful. I am aware that it might not be the best timing as everything is overpriced at the moment especially GPUs but I don't want to wait and I do have the pocket change at the moment to afford it. My goal is that I want to build a solid future proof gaming rig that I hopefully won't have to touch for the next 2-3 years at least. I am not obsessed with 4k gaming or super ultra mega maxed graphics settings. I am quite content when the games look good, run and load smoothly at 1080p or better in 1440p (with maxed details at that resolution however) and do not drop in FPS. There are 3 parts that I was thinking of including or building around but like I said if for some reason there should be a part that is better suited for my needs then I am happy to go with that one instead. Baseline setup: CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X roughly 500 EUR Motherboard - MSI MEG X570 Unify (based on review scores and price as well as compatibility with the chosen CPU) roughly 300 EUR GPU - RX 6900 XT roughly 1.500 EUR That would potentially leave me with 1.200 to 1.700 Euros of budget for the rest of the setup. Although I believe PSU, RAM and SSD should very easily be affordable for less than 1k. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help y'all.

I have been a really long time wanting to build my own gaming pc, not just for gaming but also because I would love to build my own PC from the ground. I have been investigating some time what parts to put on my PC, I started by choosing the case. I choose the Corsair C70 military green: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Military-Computer-CC-9011018-WW/dp/B007S02GLQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397177&sr=8-2&keywords=corsair+c70 I love the design and I have also red a lot of good reviews about it, soy this is a must for me. Secondly I went with the motherboard, I choose the MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX AC : http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Z87-MPOWER-MAX-Motherboards/dp/B00HWQUI52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397284&sr=8-1&keywords=MSI+Z87+MPOWER+MAX+AC For the graphics card I went with the MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 3GB N780 TF 3GD5/OC : http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-Corp-780TI-GAMING/dp/B00HPS4B3M/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397525&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=MSI+GeForce+GTX+780+3GB+N780+TF+3GD5%2FOC The processor is a Intel Core i5-4670K : http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4670K-Quad-Core-Desktop-Processor/dp/B00CO8TBOW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397663&sr=8-1&keywords=Intel+Core+i5-4670K The RAM memory Corsair Vengeance 8 GB : http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-240-Pin-Platforms-CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9/dp/B004CRSM4I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397746&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+Vengeance+CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Finally i choose Corsair RM Series 750 Watt for the power supply: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-80PLUS-Gold-Certified-Supply/dp/B00EB7UITQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397800&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+RM750 Appart from this, I also wanted to put in it a water cooling system, the Corsair H100i, but this is just opcional. http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-Extreme-Performance-Liquid/dp/B009ZN2NH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406397902&sr=8-1&keywords=Corsair+H100i So what do you think? I would appreciate some help with my build from you guys. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop for college with a max budget of 2k. I was thinking about just buying the new mac laptop but I know I could get more bang for my buck. I will use the laptop for school work, gaming, and video editing. I don't want it to look 'gamery' with rgb and stuff like that. Any recommendations? Thanks so much.
