My family is Taiwanese, and my mother just purchased a Taiwanese karaoke machine. I have been struggling to figure out what type of music/file format the machine actually uses. I copied some music off of the machine, but my computer/(me) cant make heads or tails of the file format. I think the large file is a video file of some sort, and that .hm2-4 are midi files for the interments. I also think the .hm6 file might be text and or timing info... I do know all of the files are the same song, but i dont know how to interoperate them. The machine comes preloaded with a bunch of Taiwanese songs, and i am trying to figure out if i can add western songs/create new songs to load to the machine. 19111.hd6 19111.hm2 19111.hm3 19111.hm4 19111.hm6 19111.INF

I did a format on my pc and now I'm trying to reinstall Windows 10 on it. Everything good until I need to chose a drive department where I will install Windows. When I choose the main ssd department, it shows me an error that says, "we couldn't create new department or to locate the current one." What could I do?

Hi. I have a 2.5" SATA hard drive that appears visible on disk manager, but cannot be mounted. I've tried WD recovery tool but it says it has too many bad sectors. Is there anyway to format/delete the data on the HDD (including bad sectors) to make it usable again? PS: I don't care about the data in it, I just want to know if it's possible to make it usable again.

hey guys! i seem to be running into so issues installing windows on my new Samsung evo 970 m.2 nvme. i opend my pc and removed the old transcend SATA m.2 and installed the new Samsung nvme m.2, unplugged all other harddrives from the MB and poped in my bootable USB with win 10 pro. all goes well until u need to format the m.2 sothat windows can install, i keep getting a 0x80004005 error. i did some searching and its said that a windows file is missing.... even though i have used the usb multiple times before. so i search for a guide on a fresh windows install on a m.2 and found that there are some things i need to change in the bios. these are what i changed (MB is an MSI z170a Tomahawk) - settings/ advanced/ integrated peripherals/ SATA Mode i chanded from Raid (as i dont want to run a raid setup) to AHCI as per the guide. - settings/ advanced/ windows OS Configuration, here i disabled fast boot and both support for win 10 and win 7 installation as the guid said to use "Other OS" and i dont have that option. now before we go any further i tried enabling win 10 in wich case i cant get past the bios to try and install windows how ever is i enable win 7 i can get windows to load but get stuck at that error. please see image below any advice is appreciated.

Hello LTT Forum. I got myself a new phone recently and did discover "uncompressed" format at my camera app (TIFF) so I did choose that as internal space were no problem. BUT... I did sync my phone into my desktop and I got a bunch of TIFF copies of DNG files that are 30-40mb each. So my question is: Am I suppose to do something in the next step to merge them? (PS or Lightroom?) as I want the best possible quality out of it. Deleting the DNG files and keeping the TIFF is wrong right? Just want to preserve the photos in the best way... and I am not sure what to do next. Thanks

Pc storage devices SSD 120gb (boot) HDD 1tb (general storage) - this is the problem HDD 120gb (some old hdd i got from a laptop) So recently my hdd has been acting up. 1st my game file got corrupted 2nd it started taking time to load in windows explorer 3rd it now crashes every time i try to open in in windows explorer So since i dont really care if i lose all my games and memes , i have tried to format it using the right click and format at windows explorer. Whenever i tried to format it, it just crashes my windows explorer. So i move on to another try this time is used disk management When i open disk management it takes quite a while to load. When it loads everything is like normal so thats fine. Then when i try to format my disk it just kinda crashes but still says it formated it At this point nothing had changed so i moved on to trying 3rd party softwares to wipe/ format my drive. i tried easeUS i just used "Hard disk low level format tool" and it says my hdd is empty but im still unable to access it because windows explorer keeps crashing. i would like some help in this case as i have not encountered any hard disk problems that could not be solved by formatting edit: this hard drive was bought in at the end of december 2017

Hi. I upgraded my old 2008 iMac’s optical drive to an ssd using an adapter,, however due to... electrical failures (presumably) the ssd got damaged. After several unexpected shutdowns my Mac stopped reading/booting from the ssd. I had to reinstall the OS on the HDD but I couldn’t read the ssd not even using disk utility. then I tried it on a pc. Using hardware manager I got to detect the disk, but I needed to format it, but after severa attempts the formatting was not successful. I don’t know what can I do or what is wrong. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks

Sorry to bother you nice folks again but I have a real problem. Let me explain. So I have a 500gb Samsung Evo SSD m.2 nvme hard drive in this new computer. I put windows 10 on it. When I did it I partitioned the system to only give 50gb's of space to windows 10 and the rest separated. I'm an idiot. Soon enough after installing drivers and basic things now I only have 9.99gb's of space left. So I decided okay, I can't merge the partitions together (I tried) so I went to reinstall Windows. Low and behold there was no option to just completely wipe the thing. So my friend is over and he suggested to delete the other partitions and only leave the 465gb so I did and we installed Windows on the 465gb. However during and after doing that we discovered there's actually no way to get the 35gb's back. I have searched the internet's and I can't find a way. Just a load of problems that sound similar but nothing specific to this. When in disk management well I'll just attach a picture to show you guys what shows up. I'm more than willing to reinstall Windows and erase every thing if need be. Thank you guys for any help, I'm thankful your all here, I don't know of anywhere else this reputable. Thanks for any help friend's.

So I thought Plex would play pretty much any format? I had some video files that were MP4 and my computers would stream them through Plex however my SmartTV would not. Sure enough I converted them to .mkv and whala. Everything works again. Can anyone tell me why this is? Is it the TV that isn't compatible?

Hi, I want to reinstall my AMD vega 11 graphics driver. This driver has been crashing everytime i play games and i read that resetting windows might fix the problem. So my question is, does selecting 'remove everything' under 'reset this pc' options, will it give me a completely fresh start of windows? Will there be no residuary files left such as registry? Also, will doing this wipe my D: drive also? (Installed win 10 in ssd and kept all my games and stuff in D: drive)

Almost an entire day spent trying to get my SSD to work, with numerous attempts. Let me lay down the details before unravelling the long-winded story. (TL;DR at the bottom). Laptop: DELL SSD: INTEL 256 SATA M.2 Encryption: BitLocker Enclosure: Some $15 M.2 to USB3.0 enclosure Recently, I hard reset (kill) my frozen laptop. Booting it up, windows did not load, it stayed on the boot logo. I can't boot into any safe modes either. Following that event, I bought an M.2 to USB enclosure. In an attempt to run chkdsk with the drive connected externally (to a different machine). I encountered another wall. After connecting the drive/enclosure, Disk Management won't load ("Connecting to Virtual Disk Service"), as well as "diskpart". At this point, I'm wondering if it's the SSD or the enclosure that is acting up. I figured I should try connecting it to a macOS. Lo and behold, macOS sees the drive with two partitions, with one of them being a System Reserve. I can see all the file structure, Windows, Users, Program Files, etc. After backing up what I needed, I proceed to format it. But Disk Utility throws a "Unable to write to the last block of the device" when trying to format the drive. Similar error when using the terminal. Few hours of trying and googling, changing ports/cables, I decided to use a different laptop with an M.2 slot. After disassembling the laptop, and installing the "faulty" SSD. Booting up to BIOS, the SSD was not detected in the boot menu. I reinstall it again, but with the same result. Since I previously had created a Windows USB Media, I decided to see if there's anything I do with that. But after booting into the USB, it just shows a blank screen. Still not giving up, I created a Live Linux USB, in an attempt to work with the SSD using Linux this time. Using terminal, both fdisk and parted failed to do anything to the drive. Giving an "Input/output error". At this point, I started to wonder (and also on the verge of giving up), is it due to the fact the drive was encrypted with BitLocker? If so, how was I possible to access the drive (using macOS) without any issue? It's an NTFS drive, so I don't expect macOS to be able to write anything. I'm really lost right now. I even tried writing zeros on it. But at the end of the day, connecting it back to the Mac. Everything is, what seems to be, untouched. I just want to have a clean drive, that is all I want now. TL;DR, 1. Windows can't load after a hard reset. Neither can safe modes. 2. Can access the drive with macOS. 3. Can't format with macOS nor Linux. 4. Drive is encrypted with BitLocker. Note: The Windows USB Boot Drive might not be created properly. I'll recreate the USB and update accordingly tomorrow.

20 Gb USB is probably corrupt. No information on drive, cannot format. Here's all the photo's I managed to pull. View in order from 1-5 Please. Basically, I need to format this USB Drive. It has about 20 Gigs of storage on it, only 5 Gigs of which were used for games that I can just copy over again. I do not know what caused this USB Drive to malfunction or corrupt itself but for all I know, it may be serious. Thanks in the future for helping, - Wolf

Hello, I've just bought a new western digital blue hard drive to add to my computer. I've plugged in the power and sata cable and the PC finds the new volume in disk management. However when I try to name it and format it a error message pops up saying "The format did not complete successfully." The drive keeps the letter I gave it but not the name. I have a small 240Gb SSD and a 1Tb western digital black already installed on the computer and I've used this Sata lead before so I'm confident the wire is working. And I've restarted the computer a few times with out any change. Is there a way to check that it's getting the power it needs from the PSU? Let me know if you need to know anything I've not mentioned. If anyone knows how to fix this problem I'd appreciate the help.

So It is my fault that I was unaware of the cost of creating a bootable windows on my USB. But maybe you can help me fix it Firstly, I lost my files which If I could get back would be cool, but its not too big a deal. But more importantly, My 128gb usb is now a 32gb usb. Really sad that I wasnt prompted by a warning of this danger before creating this tool, but I guess when you're building computers its up to you to know. But if anyone knows a way and can help me, that would be much appreciated.

I want a clean install of windows 10, from what I've seen i can go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery -> Reset this PC, but does it remove files from all drives/partitions? If so, how can I reset windows on only one partition? I have windows installed on a separate partition on my ssd, and I have a separate hard drive that I don't want to reset.

Sorry in advance if I posted in the wrong section. I have my laptop from 2011. It's an HP dv6 with an AMD A8. It has windows 7. I'd like to format it and install windows 10 to see if it's worth saving before I set it on fire and sacrifice it to the gods. I don't really know how to go about doing a format and clean install. It's running very slow and I'm sure it has a virus or two. I've saved my personal files from it to a usb thumbdrive. The only thing I'm concerned about losing is the beats audiolab software that came on the laptop. But if I can't save that, it's not the end of the world because the thing barley works as it sits. So could anyone link me to an article or help give me a rough tutorial?
